Colonel Allen West, the former Republican congressman from Florida and one of the reasons to join National Review’s Norwegian Fjords Cruise this summer, revealed that he is considering running for the presidency in 2016 on Sean Hannity’s radio program Tuesday.

West, who lost his bid for Florida’s 18th congressional district in 2012 after a prolonged post-election battle over voter fraud, said that he will make himself “available to run” for any office he is called to serve in by the American people.

He discussed the Benghazi and IRS scandals with Hannity, focusing on the poor “command climate” that President Obama has created. The controversies are the “natural outcrop” of the president’s shortcomings, West explained, and the country needs the “right type of leadership” to foster accountability in Washington.

“I don’t think we should ever elect someone who wants to be president,” the veteran stated. “We should elect someone who is called to be president.” West, it seems, is open to receiving that call.

It's Bowe Tuesday...bring him home now!

Kerry Says US Will Sign UN Arms Treaty, Ignores Congressional Opposition

 By: Lisa Barron / Newsmax

Secretary of State John Kerry says that the U.S. will sign a controversial United Nations treaty on arms control in spite of bipartisan opposition from lawmakers.

Kerry released a written statement on Monday saying the U.S. "welcomes" the next phase for the treaty, which the U.N. General Assembly approved on April 2 but which gun rights advocates on Capitol Hill fear could lead to new gun control measures domestically, reports Fox News.

"We look forward to signing it as soon as the process of conforming the official translations is completed satisfactorily," Kerry said, adding that the treaty is "an important contribution to efforts to stem the illicit trade in conventional weapons, which fuels conflict, empowers violent extremists, and contributes to violations of human rights."

The treaty would reportedly require countries that ratify it to establish national guidelines to govern the transfer of conventional arms and components and to regulate arms brokers.

Supporters of gun rights have warned that it could be used as the basis for more gun control measures in the U.S.

Last week, 130 members of Congress signed a letter to President Barack Obama and Kerry calling on them to reject the measure.

"We strongly encourage your administration to recognize its textual, inherent and procedural flaws, to uphold our country's constitutional protections of civilian firearms owners, and to defend the sovereignty of the United States, and thus to decide not to sign this treaty," they wrote.

Robert Spencer: Another Obama Assault on Free Speech

From Jihad Watch

ObamaFreeSpeech.jpgIn FrontPage today I discuss the latest in a long line of attacks on the freedom of speech from the current Administration:
The Obama Administration’s latest assault on the freedom of speech is so audacious that it leaves me speechless – and that’s the idea.
According to Politico, Bill Killian, the Obama-appointed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, “is reportedly vowing to use federal civil rights statutes to clamp down on offensive and inflammatory speech about Islam.” Said Killian: “We need to educate people about Muslims and their civil rights, and as long as we’re here, they’re going to be protected.”
Killian and an unnamed FBI special agent are holding a meeting Tuesday evening with local Muslim groups in Manchester, Tennessee. “This is an educational effort with civil rights laws,” Killian explained, “as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion. This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.”
Killian offered an example: “a recent controversy where a local Tennessee politician posted a photo of a man aiming a shotgun at the camera with the caption ‘How to wink at a Muslim.’” He asked the rhetorical question: “If a Muslim had posted ‘How to Wink at a Christian,’ could you imagine what would have happened?”
The problem, however, is that neither the Obama Administration nor Islamic supremacist groups that have been campaigning against the freedom of speech for years – notably the 57-government Organization of Islamic Cooperation – have ever drawn any kind of distinction between genuinely threatening speech (which the shotgun photo may arguably have been) and honest analysis of how jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and supremacism.
On the contrary, they conflate the two, thus smearing as “hateful” all examination of the motives and goals of the jihad terrorists who have vowed to destroy the United States and conquer the free world. Obama did this in 2011 when he mandated the scrubbing of counter-terror training materials of the truth about Islam and jihad. Truth about the exhortations to warfare and conquest in the Qur’an and the teachings of Muhammad was now “hate” and “bigotry,” to be jettisoned.
And Obama, of course, has been at war with this most fundamental of freedoms for quite some time. In 2011, the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 16/18, with the support of the Obama administration. It called upon Western states to pass laws that would criminalize “defamation of religion” – i.e., criticism of Islam. This was no isolated incident. Right after the Benghazi jihad massacre, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed to have the producer of a video about Muhammad – the one that Administration officials falsely blamed for the attack — “arrested and prosecuted.” The filmmaker is still the only person in prison for those attacks, ostensibly for a minor parole violation, but clearly for the crime of exercising his freedom of speech. And those are just two of the many ways in which the Obama Administration has shown itself to be a foe of the First Amendment.
Nonetheless, the First Amendment still remains, for now – at least until a case involving the question of whether what the Administration deems to be “hate speech” enjoys constitutional protection comes before an Obama-majority Supreme Court. But the idea of circumventing it using existing civil rights laws is a new wrinkle. “The Department of Justice,” Politico noted, “did not respond Friday to a question about what guidelines it draws concerning offensive speech and Islam, or whether the department believes that civil rights statutes could be used to stifle criticism of Islam.”
It is doubtful that they didn’t respond because the thought of doing such a thing had never crossed anyone’s mind there. In July 2012, then-Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division was asked by Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ): “Will you tell us here today that this Administration’s Department of Justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that criminalizes speech against any religion?” Perez (whom Obama has now nominated to be Secretary of Labor) refused to rule out such a proposal – strongly suggesting by his refusal that the Obama Administration is indeed contemplating ways to circumvent the First Amendment and outlaw criticism of Islam.
If this ever happens, it’s all over. If the U.S. adopts any kind of law criminalizing criticism of Islam, that would be the end of any resistance to jihad, as we will be rendered mute and thus defenseless against its advance. And while this possibility still seems wildly farfetched to most people, it must be borne in mind that the First Amendment does not automatically enforce itself. If those charged with guarding and protecting it are determined to do away with it, they can hedge it around with nuances and exceptions that will render it as toothless and essentially void as the Second Amendment already is in many major cities.
The seminar in Tennessee is just one skirmish in a long war. But it is a war that most Americans have no idea is even being fought. And as Lenin and the Bolsheviks demonstrated, that is how determined and organized minorities subdue larger but careless or indifferent foes. If the mainstream media were doing their jobs, Bill Killian and his little workshop would be front page news nationwide, and Killian would be facing extremely tough questioning about his authoritarian tendencies and the anti-freedom agenda he is pursuing. That he is not, and that the mainstream media are largely indifferent to this story, will only hasten its demise.
The American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) and other pro-freedom organizations will be holding a demonstration for free speech on June 4th at 5:30pm Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd, in Manchester, Tennessee. Then the DoJ event follows from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PMat the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd, in Manchester. Please join us to stand for freedom.

When the Democrats were trying to sell Obamacare to the public, they told us that because of Barack Obama's magical health care elixir, Americans are going to live forever, in perfect health for free while unicorns will tote them back and forth to magical fairy doctors who will cure all their ills with pixie dust. Obamacare is going to be superior to the current health care system in every way and anything people heard to the contrary was obviously a lie cooked up by Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party to hurt poor people.

It sounded great.

Of course, it also sounds great when a Nigerian prince offers to give you millions of dollars to help him get money into the United States. Unfortunately, those Nigerian princes with the funny names won't make you any richer, just as Presidents with funny names won't improve your health care. They'll just tell you lies like these.

1) Obamacare will cut the cost of your health care. If only. When Obamacare goes into effect next year, many Americans can expect STEEP increases in the cost of health care.
President Obama (promised)...that the cost of insurance would go down “by $2,500 per family per year.” ...In fact, the average 25 and 40-year-old will pay double under Obamacare what they would need to pay today, based on rates posted at eHealthInsurance.com (NASDAQ:EHTH). More specifically, for the typical 25-year-old male non-smoker, the average Obamacare “bronze” exchange plan in California will cost between 64 and 117 percent more than the cheapest five plans on eHealth. For 40-year-old male non-smokers, it’s between 73 and 146 percent more.
2) Obamacare will not increase the deficit. Calling for a massive new government program to cut costs is sort of like moving to Death Valley for the reduced air conditioning bills. Alas, it's not so.
Obamacare will increase the long-term federal deficit by $6.2 trillion, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released today. Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.), who requested the report, revealed the findings this morning at a Senate Budget Committee hearing. The report, he said, “confirms everything critics and Republicans were saying about the faults of this bill,” and “dramatically proves that the promises made assuring the nation that the largest new entitlement program in history would not add one dime to the deficit were false.”
President Obama and other Democrats attempted to win support for the health-care bill by touting it as a fiscally responsible enterprise. “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future,” Obama told a joint-session of Congress in September 2009. “I will not sign it if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period.”
You mean Obama lied to us AGAIN? Who would have ever guessed?

3) "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period." Soon, many Americans will be happy if they can find A DOCTOR, much less THEIR DOCTOR.

Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.
The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.
Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The new health care law increases demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage. This change will exacerbate the current shortage as more Americans live past 65.
What good is health care, even the bad health care we'll get through Obamacare, if you can't find a doctor to see you when you're sick?

4) Obamacare will create jobs. That would be true if you added "...at the IRS" to the end of it, but companies have already begun to move millions of workers from full to part time to avoid punitive new costs under Obamacare.
Retailers are cutting worker hours at a rate not seen in more than three decades — a sudden shift that can only be explained by the onset of ObamaCare’s employer mandates. Nonsupervisory employees logged an average 30.0 hours per week in April, the shortest retail workweek since early 2010, Labor Department data out Friday show.
…This reversal doesn’t appear related to the economy, which has been consistently mediocre. Instead, all evidence points to the coming launch of ObamaCare, which the retail industry has warned would cause just such a result.
...One way for employers to minimize the costs of providing “affordable” coverage to modest-wage workers is to shift more work to part-time, defined as less than 30 hours per week under ObamaCare.
So not only are they going to get crummy health care, they're getting their hours cut back, too. Thanks, Obama!

5) If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep it. According to Obama, even though the government is about to come crashing into the health care market like a Blue Whale bellyflopping into a pond, it isn't going to have any impact at all on the insurance companies that were already swimming along. Why, if you like your own insurance, then there is nothing to worry about because you can keep it.

Yet, just last week the Associated Press reported,
New health insurance rules under ObamaCare could lead to a host of personal insurance plans being canceled as early as this fall, a scenario expected to cause consumer confusion.
Under the federal overhaul, those policies that cannot meet new insurance plan standards may be discontinued. This means individuals, and some small businesses, that rely on those plans will have to find new ones.
The goal is to ensure that most insurance policies offer a basic set of coverage, as part of the Obama administration's plan to cover most of the nation's 50 million uninsured.
Yet it also seems to run afoul of one of the president's best-known promises on the law: "If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan."
In fact, state insurance commissioners largely are giving insurers the option of canceling existing plans or changing them to comply with new federal requirements. Large employer plans that cover most workers and their families are unlikely to be affected.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners says it is hearing that many carriers will cancel policies and issue new ones because administratively that is easier than changing existing plans.
..."You're going to be forcibly upgraded," said Bob Laszewski, a health care industry consultant. "It's like showing up at the airline counter and being told, 'You have no choice, $300 please. You're getting a first-class ticket, why are you complaining?'"
On a personal note, as someone who buys his own insurance, the cost of my policy has gone up $50 a month since Obamacare passed and I expect it to be cancelled this fall, but I guess it's a small price to pay for us little people if it allows Barack Obama to feel like he finally accomplished something "historic."

Obamacare hasn't fully taken effect yet, but when it does, it's only going to get worse. Everything from death panels to unimaginably long waits for surgeries to bureaucrats denying effective, relatively common, currently in use treatments because they are "too expensive" are all coming down the pike. Obamacare is too much of a disaster to truly fix; so the best thing we can do right now is let this nightmare become reality, let people see how bad it is and then insist on a repeal or bust. Either the Democrats live with the disaster they've inflicted on the American people at the ballot box long term or they do the right thing and allow us to repeal this monstrosity before it does even more damage to our country.
In the fall of 2011 the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) submitted Freedom of Information requests to the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service following an announcement that the administration was investigating homebuilders in an attempt to bolster union membership at the expense of housing sector jobs.

“In a letter [from the Labor Department] cited by The [Wall Street] Journal,” wrote Crain’s Detroit at the time “homebuilders were asked to immediately turn over the names, addresses, Social Security numbers, pay rates and hours worked for all employees over the past two years. The letter from the Labor Department asked for the names of all contractors hired in the past year. The letter didn’t allege any specific violations of law. “

No. It was just the usual harassment that the Obama administration gives anyone when they have a disagreement with a key Obama constituency. The constituency in this case was unions that are all mobbed up. Re-write the rules, send investigators in, bury them in document discovery and government lawyers until they cave.

In the meantime, from January 2008 until 2013, new housing starts remained at their lowest sustained level from any similar time period since 1959, the earliest year records are available.

“Construction of homes and apartments last month decreased 5.0% from a month earlier to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 571,000, the Commerce Department said Tuesday,” reported the Wall Street Journal in the fall 2011. “The month's results were pulled down by a nearly 30% drop in the Northeastern states.”

This is what hopeNchange has bought the American people. By the mob, for the mob, of the mob- with an assist by the IRS and the Department of Labor.

And they wonder where the jobs have gone?

“The pay rates for construction workers and the subcontractors used by general contractors hired by PulteGroup,” says Crains “is part of a long-term conflict between the homebuilder and unions, in particular the Laborers International Union of North America.”

Oh, so now I get it:

The White House, with the cooperation of several state governments and the Department of Labor, attempted to get the Internal Revenue Service to go after homebuilders. The IRS used supposed violations of independent contractor rules that allow homebuilders to hire independent contractors at a straight hourly wage, without subjecting them to payroll taxes and union membership.

What a bleepin’ golden scam for unions, as they say in Chicago.

That’s because the IRS rules governing independent contractors, like a lot of rules sometimes enforced by the IRS, are unclear. Some would say that they are purposefully unclear. The IRS is pretty adept at making life difficult for companies targeted under the independent contractor rule.

Let’s just say that they pull the rule out when they want to put pressure on someone.

“The Center wishes to review documents showing the role played by the federal government, some states and possibly other outside entities,” wrote NLPC in their Freedom of Information request to the Department of Labor, “to impose additional administrative costs on an industry in which few publicly traded companies are profitable, most have seen major cutbacks in work and many have had major layoffs.”

The outside entities referred to by the NLPC ar the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA). LIUNA locals still act as fronts for mob activity. In March of 2011, the New York Daily News reported that the Brooklyn District Attorney was “plotting strategies to break the Gambino crime family’s 50-year stranglehold on the Pavers and Road Builders District Council,” a LIUNA affiliate.

The Obama administration knows a lot about Chicago “pavers,” too.

We have written extensively about Ray LaHood, the Republican secretary of transportation under Obama. You know the guy responsible for doling out much of the $787 billion stimulus package? LaHood’s patron is William Cellini, the former executive director of the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association. Cellini is serving a year and one day in prison for his part in a plot to extort $1.4 million from a Hollywood-type who wanted to manage teachers’ pension business in Illinois.

What does the Pavement Association have to do with teachers’ pensions? The same thing the IRS has to do with a dispute between unions and homebuilders. Let’s just call them “interested” parties or “known associates.”

So now we have the Obama administration hooking up the Department of Labor with the IRS to join together union muscle to shakedown homebuilders, mafia style.

Oh, you thought Obama meant job program?

No, no, no: That’s mob program.

Tea-party captain: IRS scandal leads to Obama

'The path of authority is quite clear here'

WND

FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe says the IRS scandal is twice as bad as Watergate because of the breathtaking extent the agency was used to target conservative organizations filing for tax-exempt status as well as their donors.

“Watergate was an example of abuse of power by a few very powerful people, including the chief executive and the specific targeting of a few specific enemies,” Kibbe told WND. “In this case, you have an institution-wide bias, a widely known understanding that the IRS was targeting people based on their politics and their political philosophy. It was known for several years and yet it continued and it continued, and so you have one of the most powerful agencies of the federal government, as policy, going after the citizens, the mom-and-pop community leaders. They weren’t powerful.  They weren’t in a position to fight back. It was a widely known thing among tea partiers for years, and now the rest of America is finding out about it.”

Kibbe said the details emerging about this scandal suggest far more high-ranking officials were aware of the IRS policy toward conservative groups than the Obama administration is willing to admit.

“The story coming out of the White House and the trail back to the top of the executive branch continues to grow and the story continues to change, and we still don’t know who knew what,” Kibbe said. “The path of authority is quite clear here. The IRS is part of the Treasury Department. The head of the Treasury Department reports directly to the president of the United States. For the Obama White House or even the Treasury Department to claim that they knew nothing about that, either they’re grossly incompetent or they’re not being honest and that’s what we need to get to the bottom of.”

What may lead to a very different conclusion than Watergate is the lack of a paper trail. Kibbe said he would be surprised if there is an actual email or voicemail suggesting Obama was personally involved in developing this policy, but he said all anyone needs to see are Obama’s public statements on tea-party groups.

“I think this was broadcast right on the evening news when Obama questioned the right and the motives of tea partiers and conservative donors who were out there fighting for what they believed in,” said Kibbe, who noted that administration officials kept the story from going public before the 2012 elections. He believes Obama likely would have lost to Mitt Romney if the story had come to light before Election Day.

FreedomWorks received its tax-exempt status years before the dawn of the tea-party movement and played a critical role in coordinating promoting the tea party. The group has not been audited as part of the IRS scrutiny of conservatives. But Kibbe said FreedomWorks donors were targeted, and that aspect of the story might be an even bigger scandal.

“That is probably the bigger scandal when we work our way down the food chain, that individuals are being targeted, and not just by the IRS but by various agencies of the federal government, for their political beliefs, for who they’ve decided to give money to,” Kibbe said. “It gets to our First Amendment rights, and I do think that we need to understand that the institutional difference today is that the most powerful institutions of he federal government now have the ability to go after citizens that they disagree with. And that’s the definition of tyranny.”

Kibbe said donors have not been intimidated by the IRS and news of the scandal. He believes forced government transparency is emboldening activists and the actions of the IRS only fuel the desire for smaller, more open government.

Op-ed:
Play the race card and Obama and Holder walk
By: Diane Sori

Yesterday morning I saw a Florida Congressman (his name escapes me at the moment) talking on FOX News about the ‘Trifecta of Scandals’ and was amazed when he, a Republican, said that Eric Holder might NOT be guilty of perjury but just might have ‘misled’ Congress a bit in his testimony concerning the IRS and FOX reporter scandals. And this coming from someone supposedly on our side.

Then as I was watching the House IRS hearings I couldn’t help but notice the subterfuge in both NOT asking direct and pointed questions of new Acting IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel but also Werfel’s total lack of fact based answers given, as he just bloviated the standard Democratic party ‘we’ll fix it’ line.

And then it hit me as to why on these scandals and on Benghazi as well why NO one…especially Barack HUSSEIN Obama or Eric Holder…will ever be convicted of anything or see even one day of jail time.

And the reason comes in the guise of three little words…the race card.

The race card goes deeper than political correctness because the race card, in its deliberate exploitation of wounds that are still scabbing over, evokes fear of retaliation, of mob violence, of Watts revisited, and upon that fear the race card is used to render Congress and the American people impotent NOT only to fight back but to keep us in line.

And heaven forbid you happen to be a black Republican or a black conservative, then you might as well wear a ‘kick-me’ sign for you are nothing but a black racist for going against what is supposed to be the standard assumption that all blacks are Democrats, making you both a racist and worse…making you a traitor to your own people.

Making black patriots like Frederick Douglass a traitor because he campaigned for Abe Lincoln…making Martin Luther King a traitor because he was a registered Republican…making Herman Cain and LTC Allen West traitors for daring to call Barack HUSSEIN Obama to task.

And all this hate and fear is spewed out by the vocal very few yet their loud persistent voices helps to keep the American white majority cowering in fear of them, and it makes Congress afraid to do what they know needs to be done. The likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Julian Bond, Reverend Wright, and Louis Farrakhan spew out anti-white rhetoric every chance they get yet NO one dares to call them racist, but when Barack HUSSEIN Obama uses the race card against any and all who did NOT vote for him, do NOT support him, or who dare to question him in any way we, both white conservatives and black conservatives become racist bigots.

And these same vocal persistent few also keep playing the ‘you owe us for slavery card’ in conjunction with the race card…and lets NOT forget the ‘guilt card’ being thrown into the mix too. Yes, blacks were slaves…yes, that is a most shameful part of our American history,…but and this is important…this is something the vocal persistent few have blocked from their minds because it throws a wrench into their race card game…they conveniently forget that their own people, for the most part, sold their ancestors into slavery…so are blacks racists against fellow blacks…are blacks the ultimate slave masters against their own people…just something to think about the next time the likes of Farrakhan or Wright open their mouths and spew out their venom.

And so the race card just got shuffled to the bottom of the deck for the simple fact is that even after European countries began shipping black slaves to America, they did NOT need, for the most part, to use force to get those slaves (NO matter what ROOTS tried to portray) for the slaves were legally sold and/or traded for by their black tribal leaders. Historical scholars estimate that about 12,000,000 Africans were sold by Africans to Europeans, and 17,000,000 were sold to Arabs.

And while white America did tolerate slavery in our country’s beginning years, very few whites actually owned slaves. In 1860 when the slavery issue reached a boiling point, there were 385,000 white Americans who owned slaves, or about 1.4% of the white population of 27 million.

And here’s something else those vocal persistent few need to remember the next time they try to pull the scab off a trying to heal American wound…NO one alive today, or in fact for generations, owned slaves making the slavery card a fabrication of the very ones dealing out the race card.

So we need NOT fear the left using the race card during these hearings…and rest assured the race card will be pulled out soon if it hasn’t already been alluded to…for the race card is NOTHING but a cover to blanket 'the anointed one’ and those who orbit around him. And the sooner those conducting and participating in the scandal’s hearings…those who are so in fear of stepping on the toes of perceived racism…those buying into a political correctness propaganda ploy…those who have been conditioned by the vocal persistent few NOT to see past the color of Obama and Holder’s skin…those people need to see Barack HUSSEIN Obama and Eric Holder for what they are…anti-American thugs and enemy aiding and abetting traitors to this country and to ‘We we People’.

And their skin color be damned for a lying traitor is a lying traitor be he black, white, or pink with purple polka dots.
