For millions of Americans, politics has lost its meaning. There is growing dissatisfaction with both party organizations. More and more Americans tell pollsters they are Independents. The way to reclaim the Republican Party is not by seeking some illusory “middle ground” between principled conservatism and radical liberalism. The way to bring the GOP back at the national level is to hold the party leadership to the pledges it has made for generations.

A lot has been said and written lately of what journalists and call the “Republican Civil War.” We need to remember that whenever Republicans have a party clash, journalists are happy to hold our coats. There is of course a struggle going on between Establishment Republicans in Washington, D.C. and many state capitals and the party’s grassroots—conservative, Tea Party, and local activists.

Whether the issue is a hard-fought Republican primary or different tactics on repealing ObamaCare, whether the question is Common Core in education, or expanding Medicaid at the state level, there are going to be differences of opinion. But not every difference of opinion means a difference of principle.

Conservatives firmly hold to Founding principles of constitutional government. Conservatives press for economic liberty, traditional family values, and a bristling national defense. Needless to say, the Obama administration is for none of these things. We are urging GOP leaders at every level to give this administration a strong and effective opposition.

As conservatives, we need to understand that our opponent is not the Republican Party.

Just this week, for example, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus led the members of the national committee in joining hundreds of thousands at the annual March for Life.

I can attest, as a former Republican official, elected statewide in Ohio, that I have seen how the party can be a good vehicle for electing principled conservatives. Once in office, these conservatives can and should press for conservative alternatives to harmful liberal policies.

So, the Republican leadership must first understand that conservatives will not pledge allegiance to a party machine that takes them for granted and that only weakly opposes liberal initiatives. The new age of the Internet affords conservatives many new outlets to organize and inform grassroots supporters outside of the dying liberal news media--both print and TV. Conservatives will not stay “on board” if their deeply held beliefs are disregarded and their grassroots leaders are shunned. The party elites must contend with the fact that the people at home are watching and listening in to the discussions inside the Beltway.

Second, conservatives must be prepared to identify and back our true friends and resist those elites who only want to get along by going along. Rather than engage in what the liberal media wants to call a “civil war,” we should be waging a vigorous campaign for conservative victories at the grassroots. This can have a national impact.

For example, the Republican National Committee listened to opponents of Common Core education standards who are often far better informed about this policy than the elites. The RNC has now come out firmly against Common Core. It’s been said that if you like ObamaCare, you’re going to love ObamaCore. Well, the RNC has gotten the message on this one. And it should be praised.

Third, the GOP leaders must understand that the path to electoral success requires active and enthusiastic support by the conservative grassroots. When party elites stiff-arm conservative candidates and principles, they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Ronald Reagan was right when he urged a reinvigorated Republican Party, one that would raise “a banner of bold colors” and not simply offer an alternative in pale pastels.

There can be no success without engaging, embracing, and promoting conservative principles and people Reagan spoke to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in1977. Even that early in President Carter’s term, it was clear he was flailing and failing. The former two-term California Governor said:

Our party must be based on the kind of leadership that grows and takes its strength from the people. Any organization is in actuality only the lengthened shadow of its members. A political party is a mechanical structure created to further a cause. The cause, not the mechanism, brings and hold the members together. And our cause must be to rediscover, reassert and reapply America’s spiritual heritage to our national affairs.

As conservatives, we can take the winning message of economic liberty, family values, and strong defense into minority neighborhoods and share our hopes and dreams with new supporters in churches and synagogues. The current administration is the most hostile to religious liberty in our history. It is threatening to make us subjects once again shackled to ObamaCare and burdened by its mandates. Our free market economy, our retirement and our children’s future has been placed in jeopardy.

And we know from disillusioned administration insiders that the only concern President Obama has for our all-volunteer military is for radical social experimentation.

Republicans should not try to avoid free and open debate. That’s what Democrats did when they signed on to ObamaCare. That is what has put them in the greatest political danger. Instead, we can fight hardfor principles and candidates who can win while articulating and defending the policies that unite us. Liberty is the cause and unity is the goal.

When Ronald Reagan offered that kind of leadership, there were no red states, no blue states. We called them all red-white-and-blue states. We wanted to win them all—and very nearly did. Let’s press on!
Supreme Court Issues Injunction Against Contraception Mandate
Kevin Glass/ Townhall Tipsheet

This afternoon, the Supreme Court issued an order for an injunction against forcing private businesses to apply for an exemption to Obamacare's contraception mandate.
The Little Sisters of the Poor - a Catholic group that cares for the old and infirm - have challenged Obamacare's contraception mandate on the grounds that it violates religious liberty. The Supreme Court is considering the case, and while the case is under consideration, it has issued a temporary order that businesses will not have to provide contraception coverage, or to follow the Obama Administration's "guidelines" to fill out the paperwork required to provide contraception coverage indirectly.

As Buzzfeed's Chris Geidner reported:
The unsigned order of the court “should not be construed as an expression of the Court’s views on the merits” of the case, currently on appeal before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Filed with Justice Sonia Sotomayor, she referred the request to the entire court. She had issued a temporary injunction on Dec. 31 while considering the nuns’ request for an injunction during the appeal. There were no filed dissents to the continued injunction.
There's no timeline for when SCOTUS will issue its final ruling.

As Fox News detailed, the Little Sisters of the Poor case represents a nightmare for the Obama Administration:
For an administration seeking to win a skeptical public over to ObamaCare, the Justice Department could not have picked a more sympathetic foe for a Supreme Court fight than The Little Sisters of the Poor.
The administration is fighting back against a lawsuit filed by the non-profit, which does not meet ObamaCare's classification of a "religious employer" because it hires and tends to people of all religious and ethnic backgrounds.
Supporters say The Little Sisters of the Poor epitomize service by caring for the elderly poor and those deemed "worthless" by society. In the United States, it runs 30 homes where hundreds of its employees provide nursing and end of life care.
Lt. Colonel Allen West says: “Islam has immigrated into America, and like a cancer, is spreading and attempting to take over its host”

The stealth jihad of Islamic immigration.

By: ALLEN WEST /  Posted on Bare Naked Islam

We often hear that “America is a land of immigrants,” especially from those advocating a path to citizenship for people who have defied our sovereign rule of law and are here illegally.

Trabalho-dos-grafiteiros-Os-GĂȘmeos-em-Boston-Eua-11I recall the words of President Theodore Roosevelt who believed no man should be discriminated against because of where he was born, but insisted any immigrant who arrives on our shores should become an American in terms of faith, allegiance and language, “If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. We have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.”

Contrast that with the New York scene Daniel Greenfield writes about in Frontpage Magazine:

Walk along Church Avenue and turn east onto McDonald Avenue and you will see where the old standards of working class Brooklyn give way to mosques and grocery stores selling goat meat. Mosques grow like mushrooms in basements, cell phone stores offer easy ways to wire money back to Bangladesh and old men glare at interlopers, especially if they are infidel women. This is where Mohammed Siddiquee settled a dispute the old-fashioned way by beheading his landlord.

A creeping sharia has immigrated into our America and like a cancer is spreading and attempting to take over its “host.” Greenfield notes that New York City has always had its micro communities of culture…But Islam is not just a culture and the cultures who carry its baggage with them to the old worlds and the new are not toting it along like another ethnic food, a dialect or a national holiday.

As those of us not under the spell of political correctness know, Islam does not coexist. And in its “Al Hijra” views immigration, as Greenfield says, “a form of supremacist manifest destiny to colonize the Dar al-Harb (the non-Islamic world) and subdue it with sheer numbers or sheer force” -– just look at Europe if you need proof.

Greenfield points to Jamaica in Queens, where Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis plotted the mass murder of Americans and the bombing of the Federal Reserve, hoping to “destroy America.”

At this hour, no one in Little Korea, Little Italy, Little Brazil, Brighton Beach or Koreatown is plotting to destroy America so that his religion can rule the world. That is what sets the Little Bangladeshes, Little Pakistans, and Little Mogadishus apart from every other immigrant group whose dreams for the future are not overshadowed by the iron dream of Islam.

enhanced-buzz-26861-1348593519-1Tragically, US Attorney General Eric Holder is seeking to ban the use of religion and national origin in terrorist investigations, even including instances involving national security. I will say it again, when tolerance becomes a one-way street it leads to cultural suicide. And neighborhood by neighborhood, it is a slow, dripping death. Dear God, have we so forgotten Teddy Roosevelt’s admonition?

Op-ed:
The media and the truth...diametrically opposed
By: Diane Sori

Some important happenings this past week...as the one-year anniversary of Mohamed Morsi's ouster is fast approaching, four explosions rocked the center of Cairo, Egypt and people with machine guns were firing on civilians after the explosions. All shop windows within the surrounding areas were shattered. The dead and injured were taken to area hospitals...and the coverage of this has been slim.

The Supreme Court will soon hear the 'Abramski' case concerning the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) attempting to create laws on their own. Claiming universal background checks in regards to straw purchases isn’t a law but is a gross government overreach and an illegal expansion of the Gun Control Act of 1968, this case cuts to the heart of our Second Amendment rights... and the media has given this NO coverage at all.

The Dow drops below 16,000 for the first time in months losing 376 points in a matter of days as the "rout in emerging markets" continued to spillover into U.S. stocks. Yesterday’s 200-point drop, combined with Thursday’s 176-point drop is the Dow’s biggest two-day down slide since June, resulting in the Dow being down 2.9% for the week, its worst weekly performance since May 2012. So much for Obama's economic recovery...and the media coverage has been cursory and fleeting at best.

The cover-ups concerning Benghazi continue in the wake of the recently released 85-page bi-partisan report that while saying inadequate security left Americans vulnerable in a dangerous and unstable county, it refused to out-and-out lay the blame for the four American deaths at the feet of its rightful owners...Hillary 'What Does It Matter' Clinton and Barack HUSSEIN Obama.  And while the media coverage was strong for a day or two it then dropped to almost NOTHING as Hillary's possible 2016 presidential run has to be protected at all costs.

'Bridgegate' continues to be big news to some in the media.  The 'traffic jam' albatross hanging around NJ Governor Chris Christie's neck got full non-stop media coverage...media coverage ad-nauseum in fact...for days on end. In the first 24-hours alone, 'Bridgegate' got more media attention than Benghazi got over the last 6 months...and all in the hopes of ruining the man...declaring him guilty until proven innocent...that right now numbers show could beat Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head race.

And this all leads up to the most important of all stories breaking this week...pop-singer, teen idol, and Miley Cyrus wannabe, Justin Beiber, was arrest for DUI, drug use, driving with an expired license, resisting arrest, and drag racing at 4am on Miami Beach. Justin Bieber...more important than Benghazi...more important than the NSA spying on 'We the People'...more important than the on-going ObamaCare fiasco...more important than Iran trying to acquire nukes while they make a laughing stock of our beloved America...more important than the stock market in a tailspin...more important than all this plus more as spoiled brat Justin Bieber has been the headline news story with non-stop coverage on all the alphabet media stations...and most sadly on FOX too, who is calling it 'Bieber Fever'....makes me want to scream.

Justin Bieber...the ultimate divert and deflect story of the week...and the masses are lapping it up. Makes you wonder what little bit of mischief the 'anointed one' has been up to while our attention is diverted away...doesn't it.

And herein lies some of what's wrong with America today and it can be summed up in one word...priorities. Priorities...highest or higher in importance...something taking precedence over something of less importance.

Priorities...according to all the media coverage given him, Justin Bieber is more important than all the Obama scandals combined. Justin Bieber is more important than the fight for 'God and Country,' and will be shoved down our throats until the next so-called 'celebrity' does something stupid and illegal, and who most likely will get but a legal slap on the wrist simply because they are a so-called 'celebrity.'

God help our country...puleeze!

Seriously though, it's high time we called the media to task for NOT doing the job they are supposed to do...that is report the news NOT make-up the news or refuse to report the news they don't like. The media is supposed to focus on facts NOT rumors or innuendos. The media is supposed to challenge and question our political leaders NOT broadcast their own personal opinions or agendas. In fact, according to our Founders, the media's sole job is to keep the electorate informed so we can monitor our government and vote responsibly.

And as to keeping me informed, I want to know the true 'real' numbers of those who have enrolled in ObamaCare NOT just put an insurance plan in their shopping cart or who simply perused the exchanges. And the media knows these true numbers but dares NOT cross the 'anointed one' by reporting said true numbers...so we get the numbers Obama wants us to get and NO more.

I want to know the truth about Iran pulling the wool over Obama's and Kerry's eyes with their getting these two miscreants to agree to a deal in Geneva that still allowed them to enrich uranium and dismantle NOTHING. “We did not agree to dismantle anything,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, claiming that the Obama administration had created a false impression in the language it used to describe the six-month agreement. Why isn't the media reporting non-stop on this important story whose ramifications affects the entire Middle East and beyond....I know why...the media is complicit in covering up the fact that Barack HUSSEIN Obama sides with his true blood brethren over America...and over Israel of course...and again they dare NOT cross the man whose pocket they're all in.

And I want to know the truth as to why under this most miserable of president's watch thousands of brave American troops have died in vain as Iraq falls to the enemy with Afghanistan close behind. I want to know the truth about Benghazi...about why those in the media allowed Christopher Stevens to be painted as the one who caused his own death. I want to know about the massive voter fraud NOT reported on and about the true job numbers and still limping along economy. I want to know about the radical left takeover of our public schools through a monstrosity called Common Core...and about the islamization of America so counter to our Constitution. I want to know why the wants of ILLEGALS now trump the wants of LEGAL Americans...and I want to know about why a man is sitting in the highest office in our land who this very same media helped put there all the time knowing he was NOT qualified or Constitutionally able to be there.

I want to know about all this and so much more...and I want the media to do their jobs and report to me the truth NOT manufacture words that pass for the truth...NOT fabricate the truth...NOT cover for the truth...NOT white-wash the truth...and most importantly NOT ignore the truth...for if they don't the time will come when they're NO longer under the protective orb of the man who currently 'stole' the office of the presidency. And what will become of the media then for once one falls into a pattern of lies and cover-ups...once one falls from grace...it's hard to get credibility back...if it even can be gotten back at all.

So try doing the job you're supposed to do dear media...report the truth and the truth alone...there's still a bit of time before we retake the Senate and increase our numbers in the House for you to shape up or we will ignore you completely. And as we bloggers have taken to doing your job for you...let me tell you we're doing a hell of a lot better job at it than you have ever done.
