Diane Sori's photo.BREAKING NEWS...Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel...the man who saw and lived through such horrors and yet did so much good fighting for peace, human rights, and simple human decency...and who was well known for tracking down Nazi war criminals...has died at age 87.

May he Rest in Everlasting Peace...finally free of nightmares remembered as he is now 'home' and safe in the arms of God Almighty...together with his family again. If only the world had more Elie Wiesel's what a better place it would be.

Eight Reasons Why We Face a National Security Problem

Eight Reasons Why We Face a National Security ProblemJohn Kerry called the Istanbul airport attack a sign of desperation on the part of ISIS. The following observations suggest American leaders are the ones desperately clinging to failed strategies.

1. Choosing symbolism over substance: Whether or not expressed explicitly, the administration demands uniformity of thought and diversity in appearance. As a result, upwards of 200 military officers have been “purged” for failing to acquiesce to a rudderless national security strategy that, among other things, subjects the military to costly and fruitless social engineering projects. A dangerous future awaits a country that diverts defense spending to that which offers no measurable benefit to military readiness. Woe to them who funds appearance over capability.

2. Dangerous growth in government: Any expansion in government inevitably gives leaders an unwarranted sense of self (see the European Union). That remarkable hubris leads officials to believe, for instance, that they have identified the primary cause of weather patterns, and thus, have the power to fix it. A lack of consensus among specialists in this area is no match for such vanity. Assured of their position, big government saddles the military with climate directives that only serve to undermine its effectiveness. (see here)

Family Group Accuses Obama Admin of Fighting 'Culture Wars' Instead of Real Wars After Pentagon Lifts Transgender Ban

Family Group Accuses Obama Admin of Fighting 'Culture Wars' Instead of Real Wars After Pentagon Lifts Transgender BanOn Thursday, the Pentagon announced it is allowing those identify as transgender to openly serve in the U.S. military.

The conservative Family Research Council, always critical of the Obama administration’s social justice agenda, which they believe places political correctness over citizens' safety, responded strongly to the Pentagon’s latest initiative. Here’s FRC President Tony Perkins in his Thursday statement:

"This is yet another example of President Obama using America's military to fight culture wars instead of to fight real wars against the enemies of our nation," Perkins said. "Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that 'the only military matter . . . about which I ever sensed deep passion on [President Obama's] part was 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell.' Now Mr. Obama has only added to his legacy of misplaced priorities with regard to our country's defense."

The Pentagon’s decision to lift the transgender ban comes five years after it ended the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, which prohibited homosexual troops from openly serving.

Islamic State threatens jihad mass murder at US, UK airports over July 4 weekend
The areas outside the security checkpoints are crowded and vulnerable. The recent Islamic State jihad attack in Istanbul showed how vulnerable those areas really are.
