Why Tom Cotton Should Do a Victory Lap Over the National Guard Being Deployed in NYC

It was an opinion piece that cost a New York Times editor his job. James Bennet signed off on Sen. Tom Cotton's (R-AK) article that said deploying the National Guard to maintain law and order in our cities during the 2020 riots might be necessary. This op-ed ran following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Cotton also cited instances during the Civil Rights Movement when the National Guard was mobilized to keep the peace. Bennet was forced to resign from the Times following the woke uproar. It took four years, but New York City adopted the Cotton protocol by deploying almost 1,000 National Guard units in the subway system to deter crime (via NBC News):

Biden Campaign Focusing on Going for ‘Trump’s Jugular’

Wasn’t it the rule that the first campaign to go negative was exhibiting a sign of weakness? The Biden campaign fits the bill. Unlike the Republican Party, which is unifying under Donald Trump, the Democratic Party has multiple factions at odds with Joe Biden. They’re all potential election killers if there’s no turnaround, but there’s plenty of time for Biden’s team to quell the angst among black, Hispanic, Muslim American, and labor union voters. Does Joe have the skill and mental acuity to pull this off? He doesn’t. 

The 2024 Biden playbook for Trump is a retread of Obama’s plan against Mitt Romney: kill Trump. The president intends to go for Trump’s “jugular” by mocking him every day (via Axios):
