With ISIS’s de-facto capital of Raqqa the target of international strikes, the terrorist organization is making backup plans in the Libyan city of Sirte should its Syrian hub fall.
While ISIS (also known as the Islamic State) has other affiliates throughout Africa and the Middle East that have pledged their allegiance to its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the group's branch in Sirte is the only one that ISIS central leadership directly controls.
The Wall Street Journal reports that ISIS leaders in Libya have reportedly adopted a slogan that reflects Sirte's heightened profile within the jihadist organization: "Sirte will be no less than Raqqa." […]
ISIS's influence in Sirte has been growing over the past year, as it has evolved into what The Times describes as an "actively managed colony" of the central group.
The growth has been swift — the Libya affiliate has gone from 200 fighters to about 5,000 since ISIS announced its branch there, The Journal reports. (The Times reports that Western put that estimate at 2,000 fighters.)
The lack of a functioning government in Libya and its oil rich resources make it fertile ground for the terrorist group.

"We don’t have a real state. We have a fragmented government. Every day we delay on a political deal, it is a golden opportunity for Islamic State to grow,"Fathi Ali Bashaagha, a politician from Misrata, Libya, told The Wall Street Journal.

  1. There can be little argument that the policies of Obama and Hillary, and lately Kerry, destabilized the middle east, from Libya and Egypt to Syria and Iraq, and paved the way for the expansion of power of Islamic power seekers , who are willing to commit any atrocity no matter how heinous to advance Islamic power. The only real question is whether this intentional destabilization was done through foolish ineptitude or was committed to promote the power of fundamentalist Islamic groups who would advance Islam as Muhammad taught that it should be advanced - by war and terror and assassination.
And in light of Obama's continued failure to call obvious Islamic terrorism the Islamic terrorism that it is, and his wilful refusal to effectively oppose ISIS, it appears clear that he desired to help fundamental Islamists rise in power and take over states. Perhaps he did not intend to cause all the hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded that his policies have caused, and perhaps he did not fore see the mass invasion Europe by muslims that he has caused. On the other hand, perhaps it is all part of a plan on his part to assist muslim invasion, as we may infer from seeing how eager he is to bring thousands of public enemies and people who sympathize with public enemies into the U. S., the actual public enemies being those syrian muslim refugees who are actually Islamic terrorists, and the public enemy supporters being the syrian muslim refugees who sympathize with many of the goals of the actual killers.

    1. Let us not forget, Bush created the vacuum by invading Afghanistan and Iraq. We all know this is about oil. And just yesterday, PM Netanyahu publicly stated that Israeli forces are in Syria as well. Why did he all of the sudden announce this? Because Russia is taking the gloves off, and starting to expose those who support ISIS. Netanyahu knew he had to go public, before the media reported it. I'm not a supporter of Russia, just stating facts. It's very sad that no nation stands for truth and righteousness in this world. It's simply evil vs evil.

    2. Bull...GWB did NOTHING of the sort as he went after the WMDs which have been proven to have been there...Saddam moved them to Syria before we went in and the anything-but moderate rebels used them on the Syrian people and al-Assad's government forces. BTW, BiBi has had covert forces in Syria for months if NOT years...even wrote about it awhile back. BiBi is doing the right thing to protect Israel as Obama is NOT. He and Putin have met 6 or 7 times over this past year and have worked out an 'alliance' of sorts...an alliance against those out to kill us all.

    3. If you had WMD's, would you use them against the force coming to eliminate you? The answer is a very strong YES! He never had them, you trust your government WAY to much. Bush went in for the oil, wars are always about religion and resources. You'll understand at some point, Obama and Bush are on the same team.

  2. There is a very great likelihood that Saddam had WMD and hid them or smuggled them out of Iraq in the hope that he could avert attack. Bush always did what he thought was best for America. Obama always does what he thinks he can get away with that will hurt America and strengthen her enemies, Islamic and Socialist/Communist. Bush said Islam was a religion of peace out of ignorance. Obama tells the lie that Islam is a religion of peace out of hatred for America, and a desire to promote Islam, which he knows full well is hostile to American freedoms and prosperity.
The more than 27,372 deadly islamic terrorist attacks world wide since the islamic murders of 911 demonstrate that great truth as to how to identify false prophets: By their fruits shall you know them.
