So It Was About Obama After All

Dear President Obama,

It’s not us; it’s you. It’s all you.

In the election in which you sought and gained ballot access while repeatedly disregarding pleas of the actual Democrat candidates- candidates who wanted nothing to do with you-- and just wanted you to sit down and shut up, you got beat.

And now Democrats know how Chicago feels.

Just like you did with your “hometown,” you used the Democrats to build a legacy for yourself. And then left them to burn and rot.

How’s this for a legacy? In addition to losing Libya, Egypt (only for a time), Iraq, Afghanistan and parts of Ukraine, you now have some other failed states to put in the loss column.

You lost Illinois.

You lost Maryland.

You lost Massachusetts.

You lost Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Montana, North Carolina, South Dakota, and West Virginia.

Those are only the statewide races you lost.

It was all the more fitting that it happened on the day on which I got the news that my insurance premiums are going up by $3,000 per year.

I know you are math challenged, so let me add it up for you.

That money that I’m paying for increased premiums will cost the average worker who needs to save for retirement $475,770.12 over a 35 year working career.

That’s a house. That’s an Ivy League education. That’s the difference between being able to afford a standard of living that includes things like food and medicine or being stuck on another crappy government program that you designed, pushed and walked away from so it could rot and burn.

I’m not the only one this happened to either.

According to the Washington Examiner 2014 saw healthcare premium increases across the board, regardless of age.

“Average premium increases ranged from a low of 22.7 percent among 63-year-old men to a high of 78.2 percent among 23-year-old men,” writes the Examiner. “Among women, the range was 35.1 percent for 30-year-olds to 44.9 percent among 23-year-olds.”

Tip your caps to Cory Gardner. No doubt one of the most polished candidates to run for office this election cycle, he deserves additional plaudits (as does Texas Governor-elect Greg Abbott) for running a successful campaign against a desperate and birth control-obsessed Democrat. His opponent did his best to make the race all about “women’s issues,” a ridiculous if sometimes successful strategy that the Denver Post recently described as “obnoxious” and “an insult to those he seeks to convince.” Unlike previous Senate hopefuls, however, Gardner was able to successfully ward off charges that he was anti-women and anti-birth control. This, my friends, is progress.

“The national party should turn Gardner's win into a case study,” Guy wrote in his analysis of the elections last night. They should.

Meanwhile, the implications of Gardner’s win are hard to miss. Last night on Fox News, for example, Dr. Charles Krauthammer tapped into what Republican victories in states like Colorado and Texas could mean for future election cycles.

“I think this is the end of the ‘War on Women,'" he proclaimed. “And the Democrats have lost it.”

President: I Won't Sign Any Bill to Repeal Obamacare

One day after his party took a drubbing in the midterm elections, President Barack Obama said he had no intention of signing a Republican bill to overturn his signature healthcare legislation but would be willing to work with the GOP on other issues.

"On healthcare, there are certainly some lines I'm going to draw," Obama said in a White House press conference Wednesday. "Repeal of the law I won't sign."

The president said he also would resist efforts to weaken the law piecemeal, as Republicans have suggested, including getting rid of the individual mandate.

But he would be agreeable to "responsible changes" to "make it work better," Obama said. "There's no law that has ever been passed that is perfect."
 

But that's not what Sen. Mitch McConnell, who is expected to be elected Senate majority leader, said in a press conference about an hour before Obama's.

"If I had the ability, obviously I'd get rid of it,'" McConnell said of the Affordable Care Act. "It's no secret that every one of my members thinks Obamacare was a huge legislative mistake."

Knowing that Obama would veto a bill to completely reverse the ACA, McConnell said he would strike at pieces of the legislation "that are tremendously unpopular with the American people."

That would include the individual mandate, which requires people to buy insurance policies approved by the government, he said.

McConnell also said he would try to get the medical device tax overturned and would aim to change provisions in the law that have caused employers to cut workers from a 40-hour work week.

Obama declined to say whether he would be willing to compromise on the medical device tax.

From Obama's perspective, he said he wants to see Congress act on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would allow for those who have been here for years to become legal.

He deflected a question on his promise to take executive action soon to grant what Republicans call "amnesty" to millions of undocumented immigrants.

McConnell said that doing so without giving Congress a chance to act first would be "poisoning the well" for any chance at agreement and akin to waving a red flag in front of a bull.

But Obama shirked off that notion.

Revenge of the middle class

Hello. I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. I don’t mean to say “I told you so,” but I told you so!

I was the first political commentator in the country to predict a GOP landslide in Tuesday’s election. I described the predicted GOP landslide as “massive and historic.” I made the prediction not only here at Personal Liberty but for weeks now on hundreds of radio stations, American TV, Canadian TV and at Fox News.

Tuesday’s results literally define “massive and historic.” The GOP needed to win six U.S. Senate seats. It looks like they’ve won a remarkable nine (with a comfortable lead in Alaska and a projected win in the December Louisiana runoff). The 12 House seats won by the GOP now expand the GOP majority to historic levels.

But there are more highlights. The GOP destroyed Jimmy Carter’s grandson in Georgia’s governor race. Governor Scott Walker was re-elected in Wisconsin despite tens of millions of dollars spent by unions across the country. The GOP elected governors in deep, deep blue states like Illinois, Massachusetts and Maryland. Barack Obama himself campaigned for the Democrat governor candidate Anthony Brown in Maryland. The man that some in the media called “mini Obama” went down to a stunning defeat. Michelle Obama campaigned for Senator Mark Pryor in Arkansas. He lost big time in the same state where he won 79 percent of the vote only six years ago. Hillary and Bill Clinton campaigned all over the country; almost every candidate they supported was wiped out (only Senator Jeanne Sheehan in New Hampshire won). And the defeat of a Democratic governor in the president’s home state hasn’t happened since 1892. When I predicted “massive and historic,” I might have understated the results!

So what happened? How did I know what was about to transpire?

This was a total rejection, repudiation and condemnation of everything Obama believes in. This was middle class America telling Obama to shove it where the sun don’t shine. I wrote the national bestseller “The Murder of the Middle Class” pointing out what Obama and his socialist cabal were doing to America, capitalism and the great American middle class. What we all just witnessed was a middle-class uprising. This was the revenge of the middle class.

What woke the sleeping giant? What caused the middle class to rise up against Obama? In my previous commentaries I explained that the root of Obama’s Election Day debacle would be the Obama lies about the economy and the twin disasters of Obamacare and Ebola.

Let’s start with the economy. Obama constantly repeats the lie that the “economy is improving” and “we are in recovery.” But middle-class America knows otherwise. The election results prove middle-class voters are no longer buying Obama’s lies or the government’s manipulated economic statistics. In exit polls 70 percent of voters said the economy is bad, versus 30 percent that called it “improving.”

Then there’s the centerpiece of this middle-class economic disaster known as “Obamacare.” Millions of Americans have either seen their health insurance canceled or gotten dramatic premium price increases. These were the angry, intense, motivated voters of the 2014 midterm elections. This was a vote to gain revenge on the man who promised, “If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance.”

Jerusalem: Hamas calls for third intifada as Muslim plows car into Israeli pedestrians, killing one and injuring dozens

One would almost think that the “Palestinians” misunderstand Islam as having something to do with violence.

Hamas claimed responsibility for a car ramming terror attack in Jerusalem on Wednesday in which a Palestinian man drove his car into pedestrians, killing a border policeman and injuring more than a dozen other people.

The Islamist terror organization, which rules the Gaza Strip, also called for a third intifada in Jerusalem.

Hamas spokesman Mushir al-Masri tweeted a message of support for the attack.

“We join hands with those who avenge the blood of those injured in al-Aqsa,” he wrote, referring to the Temple Mount enclosure.

The Islamic Jihad terror group described the attack as “heroic” and said it was the response of the Palestinian people to continued attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque, Israel Radio reported.

Palestinian Ma’an news agency identified the terrorist as 48-year-old Ibrahim al-Akary, from Shuafat in East Jerusalem.

Police said the driver plowed into several pedestrians at a light rail station on the corner of Bar Lev and Shimon Hatzadik streets, close to the Border Police headquarters on Route 1, and then continued driving along the tracks, hitting several cars along the way until finally crashing to a halt.

Akary got out of his commercial van and began attacking a group of policemen with a metal bar before Border Police at the scene shot and killed him.

Hamas’s Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades tweeted out pictures it said showed the man, who it called Akazi, one of which showed him lying on the ground after being shot.

The attacker’s brother, Musa Muhammad al-Akary, served 19 years in an Israeli prison for the 1992 kidnapping and murder of IDF soldier Nissim Toledano. He was released in the 2011 deal that freed IDF soldier Gilad Shalit from Hamas captivity, and was expelled to Turkey.

The incident came amid increasing violence in East Jerusalem and on the Temple Mount as security forces clash with Palestinian rioters.

On Wednesday the site was briefly closed after Palestinians attacked police with rocks and fireworks. Police dispersed the masked rioters near the Mughrabi Gate to the compound with methods including stun grenades, a police spokesman told The Times of Israel.
