Upsetting The Convention Apple Cart...Maybe

...So how does someone else, like my first choice Gov. Ron DeSantis or my second choice Nikki Haley, become the Republican nominee instead of Donald Trump, especially when the media's too early to be accurate polls...coupled with Trump himself...keep pushing the rhetoric that he, Trump, is already the nominee? For that to happen we must look at and then redefine the candidate nomination process itself. And while we know that during the months leading up to the primaries all candidates rightfully do “battle it out” in early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire, with usually only one candidate becoming the defacto front runner heading into “Super Tuesday,” the day when a dozen or more states hold their primaries. And it's here where delegates to the actual nomination convention are chosen, state by state, with each candidate's delegates presumably (but not always) supporting their respective candidate at said convention.

But, as stated, that does not always happen, and hopefully will not happen this summer. And with primary rules not having been laid out in the Constitution...only general election rules regarding the Electoral College are...leads to the fact that any and all rules regarding the nomination process are set according to both state law and party rules...rules that can and many times are “altered and changed” at convention. This challenging of the rules will hopefully happen at the 2024 Republican Nomination Convention especially if Ron DeSantis and/or Nikki Haley has more delegates going into the convention than Trump expected...Read entire article here.

Iowa Gov. Reynolds, with DeSantis, takes aim at Trump over 'misleading' TV ad

Gov. Kim Reynolds, who is backing Ron DeSantis, says it's OK for Iowans to thank Donald Trump for what he did 'and move on'

Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds of Iowa charges that former President Trump is "misleading" voters in her state.

"It’s misleading and it’s not fair to Iowans," the governor said Monday night in an interview with Fox News Digital while referring to an ad the Trump campaign is running in the Hawkeye State that spotlights years-old clips of Reynolds praising the former president.

Reynolds endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the race for the White House last month, and the two teamed up again in Bettendorf, Iowa, with four weeks to go until the state's caucuses kick off the GOP presidential nominating calendar.

While Reynolds supported Trump during his 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, their relationship soured this past summer when the former president blasted Reynolds for staying neutral in the Republican nomination race – following a long-standing tradition of Iowa governors. Confederate memorial spared takedown thanks to judge’s order

Arlington National Cemetery said previously it would not remove the base of the monument to avoid any damage

A federal judge on Monday issued a temporary restraining order to halt the taking down of a Confederate memorial in Arlington National Cemetery. 

A cemetery spokesperson told Fox News that the U.S. Army had begun disassembling the monument but halted operations. 

The restraining will expire Wednesday night. A hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. EST to decide whether or not the judge’s order will remain in place. 

The order, issued by Judge Rossie Alston, a Trump appointee, blocks "any acts to deconstruct, tear down, remove, or alter the object of this case." 

In a footnote, Alston wrote that he "takes very seriously the representations of officers of the Court and should the representations in this case be untrue or exaggerated the Court may take appropriate sanctions." Read more and see video here.
