'He's delusional': Biden's border comments spark stiff rebuke on Capitol Hill from some lawmaker

Some lawmakers say Biden 'delusional' about his work on border security, others direct blame at colleagues

WASHINGTON – Lawmakers on Capitol Hill weighed in on whether President Biden had "done all he can do" to fix the border crisis, with some saying he'd done next to nothing, while others shifted blame to their fellow members of Congress.  

"Of course not," Sen. Cynthia Lummis told Fox News. "He’s delusional."

"He’s done all he can to keep the border open, to allow millions of illegals across our border," the Wyoming Republican added. "There’s an invasion, and he’s permitting and allowing and helping the invasion." 

But Sen. Cory Booker said: "Congress has a responsibility to step up and give the president tools."

"When you have [Republican Sen. James] Lankford getting together with people on the left and saying, ‘Here are tools we can all agree on,’ we should get that done," the New Jersey Democrat added.

Rep. James Clyburn, a South Carolina Democrat, said: "I have no idea; I’ll ask my lawyers. I don’t keep up with that kind of foolishness." Read more and see videos here.

Tlaib to Hamas: Come on In, Guy

This is the easiest vote ever to grace the House floor in recent memory: should we bar Hamas terrorists from entering the United States?  More specifically, any Hamas terrorist who was involved in executing the heinous October 7 attacks against Israel last year. This was an easy layup for lawmakers, with Congress and the country being as intensely partisan as ever. It virtually got unanimous support, and the fact that it didn’t makes this vote even more disturbing. Two lawmakers voted against the legislation: Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MN). I know, shocking, but also not really (via Fox News): 

"Squad" Democrats Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo. and  Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. were the only two representatives who voted against a bill barring Hamas terrorists from entering the United States.

The bill, HR 6679, which was also called the "No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act," expanded a U.S. ban on Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) officers to include all PLO members. 

The bill, which was introduced by Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Penn., also barred Hamas members and other participants in the Oct. 7 attack from the U.S. Read more and see X here.
