Op-ed:
Is Israel on the verge
of destruction...
By: Diane Sori
Israel is now moving closer, and
rightly so, to an all-out ground offensive the likes unseen since the '67
Yom Kippur War.
Over the past few days, Hamas, from deep inside Gaza, fired
more than 150 rockets into the heart of Israel with some reaching the
suburbs of Tel-Aviv and leaving three Israelis dead.
Israeli
officials have now declared a state of emergency in the country's
south, where more than one million Israelis live within range of Gaza's
rocket attacks. Israeli's were told to stay close to fortified areas and to
bomb shelters.
This is how
Israeli's live on a daily basis and this is how they are NO longer
willing to live.
And while the 'Iron Dome' Missile
Defense System can stop most incoming rockets it cannot stop all
incoming rockets as the recent deaths proved. And now Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly 'made it clear' in NO uncertain terms
that Israel could NO longer and will NO longer stand by as repeated
attacks are made on its towns, settlements, cities, and civilians.
"No
government would tolerate a situation where nearly a fifth of its
people live under a constant barrage of rockets and missile fire, and
Israel will not tolerate this situation," Netanyahu said.
And now the harbingers of war are upon Israel.
"If
there is a need, the military is prepared to expand the operation. We
will continue to do everything to protect our citizens"
Netanyahu said on Israeli TV. And with the Israeli military now
having been cleared to call up special reserve units this ground war
might become a reality and in a very short time, especially since
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has approved the call-up of
30,000 reservists, and with an IDF spokesman saying on Israeli Army
radio that Israeli tanks and infantry troops are heading southward on
Israel's highways towards Gaza.
These
developments are a strong indication that Israeli troops are
preparing to enter Gaza and end this once and for all. And add to all
this the very dangerous fact that the escalation in violence coming
from Gaza raises the risk of a wider Mid-East conflict, and calls
Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt into jeopardy as Egypt is now
under control of the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the very groups backing Hamas. In fact, Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood supported
President Mohamed Morsi has rejected what he refers to as Israel's
'aggression' in Gaza, saying it threatened to destabilize the region
and has ordered his Prime Minister Hesham Kandil to lead a delegation
to Gaza on Friday to decide what their next move against Israel will
be.
But make NO mistake about it...Israel has every right to defend itself and the United States, as Israel's closest ally and friend, should stand side by side with her but we sadly know that this president, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, will NOT for he sides with those out to wipe Israel off the map.
Yesterday
Obama proved just this as he issued a perfunctory support statement for
Israel's right to self-defense but urged Israel to avoid civilian
casualties in the Palestinian territory...NO concern for Israeli
casualties...only concern for Palestinian casualties.
Yeah Obama,
care about your muslim brethren...the Israeli casualties be damned.
Thankfully
for Israel, our neighbors to the north in the Canadian government
said they will continue to support Israel. "We
fundamentally believe that Israel has the right to defend itself and
its citizens from terrorist threats," Rick Roth, a spokesman for
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, said in a statement. "Far
too often, the Jewish people find themselves on the front lines in
the struggle against terrorism."
Yes, he has that
right as the Jewish people have been made the target of hatred for
countless years...longer than any group in recorded history.
So as Israel
prepares for a war of survival we pray for her but even with our
prayers it must be remembered that Israel is fighting a tangible
enemy who understands military might only and with military might
alone Israel will win this battle...as well it should be.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zech.12:3

Israel will never be destroyed because it has many little 'friends' that will make sure of that.
