Crime Numbers Up...Police Numbers Down

It's getting worse folks...getting worse from coast to coast...as anarchy and insurrection now seems to be more commonplace in Democrat controlled cities where police hands are not only being tired...handcuffed is more like it...but where “stand down” orders are being issued and reassignments being given to officers almost on a daily basis. And know the mayors of these Democrat cities do have a specific goal in mind...a goal not just to defund the police but to actually disband the police, thus surrendering America's cities to the very miscreants and thugs who believe that “everything you have is ours and it's ours for the taking”...the rule of law be damned. 

So with many still not understanding let alone seeing what's happening around them, these but three examples do remain in plain sight. And let's start on the east coast where about a week and a half ago, New York City's uber liberal Democrat Mayor Bill De Blasio spent more what should have been time at work painting yet another BLM mural on one of the city's “mean streets;” reassigning 25 police officers from their appointed rounds to protect said street mural; while completely ignoring the fact that 10 more New Yorker's had been shot in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan in the two days just prior to his being a street artist once again. 

In fact, on August 3rd, the NYPD released its latest crime figures, which shows there was a 177% increase in the city's “year-over-year” number of shooting incidents...shootings as opposed to actual murders...with July alone seeing 244 shootings as compared to July 2019's 88 shootings. And the yearly number of shootings also increased by 72% in the year-to-date, with NYC seeing 450 shootings by the end of July 2019 compared to 772 by this past July's end...and the year isn't even over yet. 

Now as for murder itself, the “Big Apple” under De Blasio's watch has already seen as of the end of July, 54 murders as compared to 34 murders in July 2019, along with a 30% year-to-date rise to 235 murders as opposed to 181 murders in 2019...again with the year not even over yet.  

But hey, in Bill De Blasio's eyes it's more important to protect a racially instigated, leftist driven political statement painted on the street than to allow “New York's Finest” to do their jobs...as in to assure public safety and fight crime. But with NYC's police department now having a hard time doing its job what with their already having seen their budget cut by 16%...as in $484 million being cut from this year's $6 billion operating budget with another $354 million being transferred over to other city agencies...De Blasio is working his way up to his promised $1 billion police budget cut along with his canceling the what was scheduled hiring of 1,163 new officers.  

And to add insult to injury...to rub his contempt for the police into their faces...De Blasio recently posed for yet another self-promoting photo-op, this time seeing him standing under a street sign at what is Jamaica Avenue and 153rd Street, a crime ridden Queens neighborhood where police are seen as the enemy and where a street...not that long ago...was co-named, “Black Lives Matter Avenue.” And the (orange) mask wearing De Blasio can be seen with his "peeps" pointing up at the sign...a photo he can now add to his ever expanding photo-op album of him pandering to blacks for their votes...that or proving to his black wife that he sees his white skin color to be as black as she wishes her black skin color was white...if you know what I mean. 

So at the same time this was going on in De Blasio's NYC, the mid-west city of Chicago saw a 139% increase in overall murders for the month of July, with actual documented shootings up 75%. And August has started off with a literal “bang” as well for in the first two days of this month alone at least 27 more Chicagoan's were shot...the vast majority of them being blacks shot by their fellow blacks...with seven of them killed, including a 9-year-old boy who just went outside his house to play with his friends. But to put those percentages in more simple yet horrific terms, by the time July in Chicago came to an end 212 innocent mostly black children had been shot, with 36 of them shot dead...and none of the victims were shot by the police what with Chicago's police previously having been told by Mayor Lori Lightfoot “not to use force” (deadly or otherwise) against the anything but peaceful protesters...protesters who actually were rioters. 

And the mayor's excuse for this rise in shooting and kill numbers was that Chicago was being “inundated” with guns from “outside states,” and that “it's the fault of states that have virtually no gun control, no background checks and no ban on assault weapons,” a stretching of the truth to such a degree as to be but the fabrications and the delusions of yet another gun-hating, BLM supporting black Democrat mayor. And adding to this is that Chicago's six Democrat aldermen continue to push the city to cut its police budget by about $1.8 billion by the end of this year with two ridiculous excuses being given. First, they claim that by doing so the city will see public programs put into place that will help reduce crime in the long run and second, why not cut the police force since the police do not make Chicago citizens safer because their fundamental role is “managing inequality, not improving public safety.” Delusional...completely delusional liberal mind-speak. 

And then there's Seattle, a west coast city that has taken their hatred of the police to the next level by not only speaking about defunding the police, but who have actually worked out a plan where defunding actually turns into disbanding. And they plan to do so by slashing what remains of this year's police budget to such a degree that the police will become monetarily powerless to do their jobs. And they're doing this in an ever so sneaky way by turning the proposed police budget cuts into legislation that the Democrat controlled City Council can vote on...and we already know how that vote will go...now don't we.

  

Coming in the form of 39 amendments that will be in addition to the $20 million in monetary cuts already proposed to the city's police budget by its Democrat Mayor Jenny Durkan...this what is a resolution, also sees by the end of 2021 the creation of a civilian led “Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention”...a department comprised of feel good kumbaya sorts who would now handle the majority of calls the SPD currently does. Now scheduled to be voted on Monday, August 10th, these proposed cuts are more like a road map to disaster I'd say...but hey... BLM and Antifa miscreants and thugs must be counting down the days until Seattle is theirs for the taking.  

And BLM and Antifa also have another ally in the absolutely ludicrous words of yet another City Council member, one Debra Juarez, who said, “We may be the first city in the country to actually undertake this and deconstruct something that has weaponized and hurt people of color since the founding of this country.” Guess to her and other Seattle City Council members only “people of color” matter...as she and the others forget that white is a color too. 

So while the above stated numbers do seem quite shocking in and of themselves, these newest numbers do show how truly encompassing the situation “We the 'law-abiding' People” find ourselves in today really is. And now add in that according to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, 2020 has to date seen homicides, shootings, and gun violence in the 50 largest U.S. cities rising, with murders increasing by a staggering 24% to 3,612. And 36 of those 50 cities have seen at least a 10% rise in homicides...a rise in homicides as these city's police are being prevented from not only arresting folks after the fact, but prevented from doing their job of stopping the violence and mayhem before it not only takes hold but spreads. 

And while most of those 50 cities do show a numbers drop in robberies and burglaries, that's something that can easily be explained and it has not a thing to do with criminals suddenly turning over a new leaf or with police apprehending those committing said crimes, but has everything to do with folks being home due to COVID-19...the ever so nasty little virus delivered to us courtesy of China. 

Simply, the fact is that when people are sheltered at home they themselves can protect their belongings against acts such as burglary and robbery, and thus those numbers will naturally go down. And besides, the rioters and looters have already “appropriated” most of the things they want with few folks stopping them from doing so. 

So while that particular statistical drop is a good thing there is yet another good thing that has come from the miscreants and thugs acts of anarchy and insurrection...and it's that gun sales have increased overall...legal gun sales that is...guns bought by “We the People” to protect those we love and the things we worked hard for what with police hands being tied...thus giving new meaning to the old saying, “Behind every blade of grass.” 

And in a way we can thank the city of Minneapolis for the increase in gun sales as it's ground zero for all our police 'George Floyd' initiated woes...where city officials actually told residents to “be prepared to surrender their possessions to armed criminals” if and when their homes are being robbed. Talk about walking into a hornets nest...it's a sure fire way for innocent folks to get killed. No wonder in July alone 1,795,602 guns were sold nationwide...an increase of 133% over July 2019...with FBI background checks showing that in this year-to-date almost 10 million firearms of all kinds have been sold, especially to first-time buyers. 

Simply what this means...what these firearm purchasing numbers reflect...is that folks are now being forced by current “circumstances” to possibly have to do for themselves and their families what the police are not being allowed to do...as in not only getting the bad guys off our cities street, but keeping them off as well.

And the ones who are to blame for this entire mess are the liberal Democrats, as they see the still ongoing anarchy and insurrection as their last chance to turn the November election in their favor, after all impeachment didn't work, the Chinese virus hasn't worked so far, so in the Democrats eyes maybe their deliberately orchestrated and still unchecked violence will. But thankfully, in the end it also won't work as rising crime numbers, ever increasing violence, and escalating kill numbers are igniting a fire within the hearts of law abiding Americans from across both racial and political lines. 

Once again it very well might come down to this, “Behind every blade of grass”...case closed.
