Op-ed:
Election 2024...Hopefully Not 2020 Revisited
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio
The Op-ed posted here is this authors opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.com or Google

The ABC News three-on-one debate is now one for the history books and history will not treat that fiasco too kindly, especially with Obama's “anointed one” getting few if any bumps in the polls for her performance...and polls this close to an election are a critical, albeit not always right, gauge as to an election's outcome. And with us having bore witness to what was not a debate but an orchestrated...and thankfully failed...attempt by ABC's liberal mouthpieces to derail the “Trump Train,” instead backfired on them for the one who gained the most from their overt bias was Donald J. Trump. How so...because the latest polls show that what were undecided Independent voters are now leaning Trump while moderate JFK-style Democrats are also distancing themselves from the very woman who was part and parcel to the economic, border, and crime fiasco we find ourselves in today.

But why bring up Kamala Harris' debate performance here...because she knowingly did not play by the rules just as she has not done so as vice-president...ignoring our “on the books” immigration rules being but a perfect example. And besides, it was suspected that Harris was privy to the debate questions beforehand so as to spew out her memorized statements while not answering a single question asked...again not playing by the rules.

So where does that now leave Kamala Harris as even CNN is questioning some of her statements? I believe it leaves her facing the proverbial “handwriting on the wall” that even the sure to come “voter fraud on steroids” will not be enough to put her over the finish line as it did with her and Biden in 2020's presidential election.

Things are different this go round as Harris is now falling behind what were Joe Biden’s numbers regarding certain key demographic groups...as in the all-important black and Jewish vote. In fact, some projections show Trump actually garnering at least 18 percent of the black vote... the highest number since 1972, while Harris is projected to see the lowest number of Jewish voters since Michael Dukakis ran in 1988. But can you blame them for Trump created more jobs for black Americans than this current administration has; and for those of the Jewish faith most know well that Harris is no friend to Israel nor is her VP pick Tim Walz as can be witnessed by their public statements regarding the happenings of October 7th and their lack of statements regarding the recent executions by Hams of six Israeli hostages.

But no matter these truths or even what takes place between now and election day regarding the political discourse is the fact that the 2024 presidential election will ultimately be decided by the Electoral College for he or she who wins at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes...votes cast by each states appointed “electors”...becomes the next President and Vice President. And if neither presidential candidate receives the needed 270 votes, then the House will choose the next President as per the candidate who received the most electoral votes.

Simply stated, it is the Electoral College that chooses our next president no matter how hard the Democrats push for the “popular vote” to determine a presidential election outcome. In fact, the Electoral College is what separates us from what's commonly known as a “pure democracy”... something the Democrats try hard to resurrect each time a presidential election draws near. And the fact remains, whether some like it or not that these United States is not now nor has she ever been a “democracy”...no matter how much yelling and screaming goes on by what more times than not is the Democrat party hierarchy, the very hierarchy that seems to champion across the board “voter fraud.”

Remember, the “popular vote” as it now stands is not a “proportional vote” as per a state's population as laid down in the Constitution, which is one of the reasons why our “Founders and Framers” set-up the Electoral College in the first place. And in this wise move they made sure to do away with “democracy's” definition of being that of “mob rule,” the very thing they wanted to be no part of the new nation they were forging.

However, and this is key, there is leeway of sorts built into the process regarding the time frame as to when an official “certified” Electoral College winner is declared. In other words, the Constitution does not state an actual dedicated time frame for when certification must take place. A perfect example of it taking a long time to certify an election winner saw modern “precedence” being set during the contested 2000 presidential election between Republican Texas Governor George W. Bush and Democrat Al Gore who was vice president under Bill Clinton. And it was this razor-close election...an election where the Democrats claimed “voter fraud” was being committed by the state of Florida in regards to what they said appeared to some not to be fully “punched through” voting cards.

And this foolishness lead to the election's winner having to be decided in the end by the Supreme Court. George W. Bush was ultimately declared to be the presidential winner by 537 votes, thus putting Florida in Bush's column. This resulted in the Electoral College vote then being 271-266 no matter that Al Gore had won the so-called “popular vote” albeit even here by a very slim margin. But the bottom line is that to rightfully declare a presidential winner took over two months after the election was held.

And so what was called the “Hanging Chads” fiasco of 2000 did resurface again in 2020 but under a very different guise, this time with suspected voter fraud being perpetrated via the Democrat's push for mail-in ballots and ballot “harvesting;” machine tabulation tampering; massive amounts of supposed uncounted ballots showing up in the middle of the night; folks especially in blue states needing no ID nor proof of legal residency to vote; and sadly via a somewhat even more sinister route courtesy of Trump's own turned out to be backstabbing Vice President Mike Pence. How so...simply by the fact that Pence was vehemently unwilling to do what the 2000 election had already done by setting “precedence”...as in legally securing allotting time for official “certification” to take place so that all charges of “voter fraud” or “irregularities” had been investigated and determined whether to be true or not. And the fact is that only allotting time for an investigation to take place would have settled the still to this day being disputed actual certified vote count.

What would have been a simple delay in certification was all that was needed...and Pence knew this to be true...yet he willingly chose to side with the Democrats and their mob based mentality, and approved the certification and announced Joe Biden as America's next president while accusations of fraud were still on the table. And this was no matter that Pence knew election “accusations” were being raised even while voting was still taking place. And so the man spewing out misplaced “conscience” rhetoric coupled with a liturgy of misinformed Constitutional discourse was simply too damn scared of personal repercussions to take a stand and do the right thing...in other words to act like not only a man but as a strong, still at that time, Vice President as well.

So why exactly do I bring up Mike Pence and what happened in 2020 now in regards to this November's election? The answer is really quite simple...as in because we might be facing a similar situation...albeit “flipped”...in less than 50 days time as I write this.

How so...because Kamala Harris, Obama's anointed one, in her still current role as Vice President would be the one certifying the November 5th election whether she was to win the presidency or not. An interesting thought indeed. And here modern day precedence was also set when on January 20, 1989 George W. Bush was sworn in as America's 43rd president, after having certified his own election win. And know, as fact, that Kamala Harris would be the one to certify her own election win...something we hope will not be the case...no matter if election discrepancies or accusations were still part of the public and political discourse.

But, and here is where it gets more than a bit dicey for would Kamala Harris willingly and in a timely manner certify an election win if Donald J. Trump were to be elected president, even if the results of his win were indisputable? Better yet would Obama politically allow said certification to take place knowing it would deny him his coveted “fourth term” in office, and would Hillary Clinton allow Kamala Harris to be sworn in as America's first woman president...the position she so coveted? Something tells me I think not on both accounts... not without a knockdown, drag out fight at least. You think 2000 and 2020 were bad...I think you ain't seen nothing yet!

And that alone brings up another perplexing question, if Harris denies certification to Trump how long this time will we go without a declared new president, and when and if would the U.S. Supreme Court step in? In 2000, on December 8th...a full month after the then November 8th election took place...the Florida Supreme Court finally ordered what's known asinter alia,” as in a manual (by hand) recount of ballots for all Florida counties where so-called “undervotes”...the infamous “hanging chads”...had supposedly not been subject to manual tabulation. And on December 12th the election was finally declared in favor of George W. Bush. In other words America went 34 days without a newly declared president. But that was in days before 9/11 changed America and the world forever...simply it was in much less dangerous of times. In today's ever volatile world can America afford to be without an officially declared leader for days let alone weeks or months...I would surely think not.

But here's a suggestion...maybe all contested elections...presidential or not...must be subject to “manual recounts” no ifs, ands, or buts. Sure it takes time and money to do so...lots of time and lots of money...but isn't a fair election worth both time and money...I would think so but I assume the Democrats would think not. And herein lies the crux of all election problems...the Republicans want fair elections, the power hungry, must remain in control Democrats do not. So much for “election integrity”...Mike Pence and his 2020 overt cowardliness proved just that, as does the fact that history could repeat itself if lessons go unlearned. Case closed.

Upsetting The Convention Apple Cart...Maybe

So how does someone else, like my first choice Gov. Ron DeSantis or my second choice Nikki Haley, become the Republican nominee instead of Donald Trump, especially when the media's too early to be accurate polls...coupled with Trump himself...keep pushing the rhetoric that he, Trump, is already the nominee? For that to happen we must look at and then redefine the candidate nomination process itself. And while we know that during the months leading up to the primaries all candidates rightfully do “battle it out” in early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire, with usually only one candidate becoming the defacto front runner heading into “Super Tuesday,” the day when a dozen or more states hold their primaries. And it's here where delegates to the actual nomination convention are chosen, state by state, with each candidate's delegates presumably (but not always) supporting their respective candidate at said convention.

But, as stated, that does not always happen, and hopefully will not happen this summer. And with primary rules not having been laid out in the Constitution...only general election rules regarding the Electoral College are...leads to the fact that any and all rules regarding the nomination process are set according to both state law and party rules...rules that can and many times are “altered and changed” at convention. This challenging of the rules will hopefully happen at the 2024 Republican Nomination Convention especially if Ron DeSantis and/or Nikki Haley has more delegates going into the convention than Trump expected...Read entire article here.

Upsetting The Convention Apple Cart...Maybe
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio
The Op-ed posted here is my opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.com nor Google.

Let me start by saying that I voted for Donald J. Trump twice...both in 2016 and 2020. And while he was not my choice in 2016...uneasiness settled over me the minute he started lobbing insults and childish nicknames at those also vying for the nomination...a breach of President Reagan's 11th commandment*...quite unpresidential demeanor indeed. I supported Sen. Marco Rubio, in fact I was one of his county co-chairs here in Florida. But I did the right thing and supported and voted for Trump when he garnered the nomination for Hillary...or any Democrat...was and is never an option for me.

And in 2020 I again voted for Trump for he proved himself great for the economy...we became energy independent, inflation was at a 40-year low, and gas prices were kept in check. And his foreign policy initiatives regarding Israel...most especially the “Abraham Accords”...opened the door for peace between Israel and her Arab neighbors. But the earlier uneasiness surfaced again when Trump started talking about pulling us out of Afghanistan, after all he had to know this would allow the Taliban to resurface...which they did...thus undoing all the gains the Afghan people had made under U.S. presence.

And as we all know Trump lost in 2020, whether that election was stolen or whether Joe Biden actually did win. Personally, I still believe the election was stolen as the Democrat machine had 4-years time while Trump served his first term to “fine tune” the 2020 outcome before the first vote was even cast. And with Trump's 2020 loss said 4-years morphed into 8-years...8-years for the Democrats to make sure Donald J. Trump would never again reside in the White House. And if you think the Democrat party machine hasn't seen to just that in 2024, you are foolishly mistaken for even Trump himself has to know this as truth.

Remember, the Democrats...the Biden administration most especially,..cannot afford to lose in 2024 for fear that Trump, if elected, would fully expose their criminal shenanigans with the outcome hopefully being that for some...Joe and Hunter Biden, and if we're lucky “string puller” Obama as well...serious jail time being in their future. Why do you think the Democrats are pushing so hard for a Biden/Trump rematch...after all the “fix”...in my opinion...has already been locked in. And with the liberal and conservative media both deeming Trump as the party's nominee, even with the nominating convention still a half year away, the all about Trump news cycle now morphs into both a ratings win and much needed mega revenue profits.

Happy Democrats, happy media...sickening yet truthful isn't it especially when most Americans do not want a Biden v. Trump rematch.

So knowing all I stated as truth, how do and can we stop the Biden/Harris ticket from being re-elected, thus further destroying our beloved America? Simply common sense, tangible realities, and eyes wide open must...I repeat must...become the order of the day. And the first reality is that no matter what the polls are now saying...remember, polls are usually wrong this far out...Donald Trump should not be the Republican nominee nor should Joe Biden be the Democrat nominee...a complete change in command is desperately needed if our constitutional republic is to remain functioning and intact.

And whether the “Only Trump” cult wants to hear truth or not, here are but three facts as to why Trump should not be the Republican nominee.

  • First, if Trump as the nominee did somehow manage to pull off a 2024 win he still would remain a “lame duck,” one-term president which would see the next 4-years finding him so mired down in new accusations, indictments, and court appearances that little would be accomplished for “We the People.”

  • Second, if in 2024 we lose the House and do not retake the Senate...both distinct possibilities especially with Republicans, unlike Democrats, never really being committed to “down ticket” voting...anything good proposed by Trump would never be passed as bipartisanship would be non-existent. And whether some on the right want to believe it or not President Reagan's most successful legislative acts were passed when he worked with a then Democratic Congress to successfully pass comprehensive immigration and tax reforms.

  • Third, Trump's ego-driven, childish, narcissistic “it's all about me” behavior coupled with his need for a personal revenge based campaign won't allow him to see the truth about polls and how wrong they usually are. Remember, Hillary was deemed to be the nominee in 2008 until Barack Obama actually became said nominee, and Hillary was deemed to be the winner right up to election night 2016 when Trump proved all the polls wrong.

Again, both parties do need new nominees as both Biden (for obvious reasons) and Trump should now put their respective egos aside and accept, as fact, that for the good of our country, it's time to pass the torch to the next generation of leaders. Simply, neither man is right for our country in these most dangerous of times.

This challenging of the rules will hopefully happen at the 2024 Republican Nomination Convention especially if Ron DeSantis and/or Nikki Haley has more delegates going into the convention than Trump expected.

Remember, fifty-six jurisdictions send delegations to the Republican National Convention... all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories...with each having different rules for how the process works. And while the Republican National Committee sets broad parameters nationally, the fact remains that each state can and does make its own rules...rules subject to change.

That's why we see a plethora of conventions, caucuses, and/or primaries on the Republican side each with their own set of rules. Also, the Republican awarding of delegates in each state is different as opposed to how the Democrat party chooses its delegates. For Democrats there is no “winner take all” allowed as “proportional contests” are the rule, and while here on the surface it seems that the Democrat way of choosing delegates is more complicated, it's not...it's just better in my opinion as it still allows for choice at convention time. Remember, Democrats have a 15% rule set in stone that means any candidate who garners at least 15 percent of the vote in a given congressional district, receives delegates from that district, which are then distributed proportionately among all the candidates who broke said 15% threshold, thus meaning the popular vote is not the nominee deciding factor...it's actually more in line with the Constitutionally laid out Electoral College style of voting.

So much for the Democrats constant cry for a popular...as in majority vote...in regards to the general election.

For Republicans, our party, sadly, shows a basic lack of “uniformity” regarding the process itself. For example, some states hold “winner-take-all” primaries where the candidate who receives a “plurality”...simply who gets the most votes on the first round of voting...gets all the state's delegates. Other states award delegates proportionally... meaning the delegates are awarded in proportion to what percentage of the vote each candidate receives. And yet other states use an amalgam of both, but to make things even more confusing, in some states Republican candidates have to “hand-pick and recruit delegates” to stand on a ballot as their supporters, while still other states see their delegates chosen in entirely different contests...as in elected by activists...and only then being assigned to the presidential candidates who emerge from said state’s primary whether said candidate is their personal choice or not.

And while it gets even more confusing at the nominating convention itself, the fact remains that guidelines and rules can be changed at convention meaning that not only does a candidate's campaign have more influence now on how new rules are written...as in being able to adjust the rules to allow their candidate of choice to possibly garnering the nomination instead of the presumed front runner. Now add in that the states themselves can reconfigure any rules passed each and every election cycle...upsetting the nomination apple cart indeed.

For Republicans, no candidate, not even Donald Trump, can enter the Republican convention with the nomination fully locked up, that is unless they have secured primary awarded delegates whose numbers and loyalty to them is unwavering no matter that delegates can and many times do change their allegiance at convention, and it's thanks to the rules being allowed to be changed. And with some “Never Trumpers,” DeSantis, and Haley delegates surely to be amongst those at the convention...courtesy of the proportional states which gives candidates approximately the same share of convention delegates as the proportion of the votes they received in the primary...we could actually (and hopefully) see the upending of the now...according to himself and his media cronies... presumed nominee, Donald J. Trump.

So dear reader, think long and hard before you cast your primary ballot as to who really is the best candidate not just to beat Joe Biden and his puppet master Obama, but who is the best candidate...one with no political baggage in tow...to turn our country back to the “right” again. Causing commotion and upsetting the political apple cart is one thing...but sometimes the one with the biggest mouth, ego, and need for personal revenge is in reality not the best choice for our country. For me the best choice remains the proven leader and military veteran that is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis...case closed.

* The Eleventh Commandment was a phrase first used by President Ronald Reagan during his 1966 campaign for Governor of California. The Commandment reads:"Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican." Simply, political and policy attacks are one thing, personal attacks are quite another thing...a lesson Donald J. Trump refuses to learn.
