During his first joint address to Congress Tuesday night, President Donald Trump honored the sacrifice and service of slain Navy SEAL Ryan Owens. He also recognized his widow Carryn, who received an extended standing ovation from the audience.

"We are blessed to be joined tonight by Carryn Owens, the widow of a U.S. Navy Special Operator, Senior Chief William 'Ryan' Owens. Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero –- battling against terrorism and securing our Nation," President Trump said. "Ryan's legacy is etched into eternity. For as the Bible teaches us, there is no greater act of love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. Ryan laid down his life for his friends, for his country, and for our freedom –- we will never forget him."

As the room focused on her, Carryn looked toward the ceiling and said through tears, "I love you." It was no doubt the most powerful moment of the night.

Trump: “We are also taking strong measures to protect our nation from radical Islamic terrorism”

By Robert Spencer / Jihad Watch

A great speech tonight from President Trump. It is astonishing that the President of the United States vowing to protect and defend the American people would be remotely controversial, and meet with stony silence and angry stares from one of the nation’s two major political parties (and probably inwardly from a good many establishment Republicans […]

Trump’s executive order to eliminate two regulations for every new rule could result in ZERO net regulatory costs this fiscal year
This comes not a moment too soon: Obama left the U.S. trillions of dollars in debt. At last, sanity is returning.

“Report: Trump Executive Order Could Lead to $0 in Net Regulatory Cost This Year,” by Elizabeth Harrington, Washington Free Beacon, February 28, 2017:
President Donald Trump’s executive order to eliminate two regulations for every new rule could result in zero net regulatory costs this fiscal year, a stunning shift in regulatory policy from the previous Obama administration.
The American Action Forum released a report Tuesday showing how Executive Order 13771 could significantly roll back regulatory burdens, using 2006 as a model.
The “Getting to $0” report written by Sam Batkins, director of regulatory policy at the American Action Forum, finds that through the executive orders on regulation and the Congressional Review Act, the administration could reduce net regulatory costs to zero by Oct. 1.
By contrast, the last year of the Obama presidency yielded $164 billion in costs from final regulations alone.

Just a Thought...
A Speech Like Few Others
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor

In my political life there have been four presidential speeches forever ingrained in my very conscience...Ronald Reagan's tribute to the Challenger astronauts, his 'Tear Down this Wall' speech, and his 'Farewell to the Nation' speech...as well as George W. Bush's bullhorn speech at Ground Zero. But now there are five speeches that have become part of me with the fifth being Donald Trump's speech last night before the joint session of Congress. I am so proud to call him my president and hopefully he will be so NOT for four years but for eight years.
