Net Neutrality Will Become the Internet’s ObamaCare

After ObamaCare turned out to be such an epic mess, a somber President Barack Obama retreated to the White House for a few days of reading and reflecting on the proper role of government.

Okay, this is a vision from an alternate universe. But you’d think that confronted with the mounting evidence of government's basic incompetence, even President Obama might have some second thoughts about assigning to government tasks that were once in the purview of individual citizens. But you would be wrong. 

Indeed the final two years of the Obama administration will be devoted to enlarging government, despite the dismal record of Obama’s first six years in the White House.

Almost behind the public’s back and with little fanfare, the FCC acceded yesterday to an Obama administration demand and voted that the internet be regulated like a public utility. Pro “Net Neutrality” activists hadn’t bothered to convince the public that the FCC needed expanded power to keep the internet “open,” but Democrats have the majority on the FCC. They claimed that more industry regulation was needed, but destroying the free market which until now has driven innovation in communication and the internet was hardly a victory for the little guy. Unless you just happen to have a blind faith in government and government bureaucrats, it's hard to see the upside in allowing the federal government to throw its suffocating embrace over the heretofore-dynamic internet.

House OKs bill to fund Homeland Security for 1 week

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has approved a bill to fund the Homeland Security Department for one week, with just two hours before a midnight deadline.

The measure now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The vote late Friday was 357-60 as Democrats joined majority Republicans in backing the bill that averts a partial government shutdown.

The vote was a turnaround from a few hours earlier, when tea party conservatives rebelled against GOP leaders and helped sink a measure that would have ensured full funding for the agency for three weeks.

Democrats had opposed that measure, arguing that the department should be funded through the end of the budget year on Sept. 30.

Obama's Veto Of Keystone Pipeline Is All About Politics

WASHINGTON -- In the days leading up to President Obama's veto of the Keystone XL pipeline, 14 oil tanker railroad cars derailed in West Virginia and exploded in a fiery environmental disaster.

It was reported that residents in the area compared the thunderous fireball and poisonous smoke that blackened the sky to "a scene from the apocalypse" -- describing it as "something biblical, or wrath-of-God type stuff."

This wasn't a rare, isolated accident. In the last several years it's become all too common across our country, as the oil industry has struggled to find ways to transport its petroleum to markets. Last week's explosion came a few days after a similar accident that followed a record-setting year of repeated rail tanker disasters.

At last count, there were more than 141 rail tanker accidents in 2014 alone, close to a sixfold increase in the average number of spills between 1975 and 2012.

Obama was briefed on all of this and presumably knew that the dangers of transporting highly flammable oil by rail far outweighed the possibility of such accidents happening in the XL pipeline.

Lives and property are at risk here. In July 2013, a rail tanker derailment in Quebec killed 47 people and 2,000 residents had to be evacuated from the area. This is what is at stake in the Obama administration's rigid opposition to completing the pipeline.

But this is not about protecting the environment, as he has piously claimed in the past. It's all about politics and paying off one of the Democratic Party's richest and most powerful campaign supporters: the environmental lobby.

It helped to bankroll Obama's two presidential elections and will play a huge role in Hillary Clinton's expected bid for the White House.

Obama deceitfully insists he still has an open mind on the issue, but says he wants to give the State Department review process more time to consider all the ramifications of the project. What a load of malarkey.

The administration is now in its sixth year of this review process. But when does "review" become foot-dragging, obfuscation and political game-playing?

Rep. Mia Love: Government Has Made it Impossible for Legal Immigrants to Start Their Own Lives

Rep. Mia Love's (R-Utah) parents came to America from Haiti with $10 in their pocket in the 1970s. After holding down several jobs, they eventually earned their own way to success. Their daughter, however, said that could probably not happen today, thanks to an overbearing federal government. Love shared her personal story with attendees today at the Conservative Political Action Conference to demonstrate how important it is to take advantage of opportunities just like her parents did and work to achieve the American Dream on their own individual efforts, before it's threatened by Washington.

Love has an impressive resume. She is the first black female Republican elected to Congress, as well as the first black Republican ever elected from Utah. More impressively, she did it without relying on the nanny state. Her own personal story is why she rejects the notion that government should run our lives.

"Too many in Washington don't trust the American people. They don't want us to have opportunities to rise to the occasion."

Love has a better vision for America.

"I think it's time we need to look within. I think it's time for Washington to trust the American people."

The Utah representative can now say that the same principles that propelled her parents' success have also offered her a way forward.

"Conservative policies work. I've seen them work as a mother, as a mayor, and I use them now as a member of Congress...The American people deserve the opportunity to rise to the occasion."

The Islamic State executioner known as “Jihadi John” was today named as a university graduate from London. Giving proof to the lie, yet again, that jihadis are poor, uneducated, disaffected, and the rest of that rot.

They are religious. It’s why they do what they do.

He prayed at a mosque in Greenwich, southeast London, which should be under constant surveillance. But that won’t happen, so as not to offend jihadis or appear islamophobic.

Welcome to 1984...2015...Obama Style

As expected, yesterday in a straight 3 to 2 party-line vote the F.C.C. (Federal Communications Commission) approved 'Net Neutrality'...as in they approved strict new internet rules, regulations, and governance...allowing Barack HUSSEIN Obama to take a giant step forward in his goal of controlling...of micromanaging...the internet 'super highway.'

In granting the federal government...as in the Obama regime...the authority to regulate internet providers according to the same laws under which public utilities operate...the F.C.C. claims it will NOT seek to impose any new taxes or fees...yeah right...and that the 'Net Neutrality Act' assures that NO content will be blocked by broadband providers...that certain internet pages are NOT given priority over other pages (gee I wonder who will decide those pages...sarcastically said), and that the internet is NOT divided into what the F.C.C. refers to as “pay-to-play fast lanes” for internet and media companies that can afford it while at the same time slowing down “lanes” for everyone else...as in speed up access to Web sites for those that can afford to pay a provider-set extra fee.

And true to government form the F.C.C. plan is long-winded...as witnessed by it being presented to the tune of 332 pages.

And surprise surprise...all three Democrats who voted 'yea' did so by claiming that they had the authority to impose these new regulations under the FDR signed 'Title II of the Federal Communications Act of 1934'...which “regulated interstate and foreign commerce in communication by wire and radio”...an act signed decades before the internet existed or was even a glimmer of thought in anybody's mind. Claiming this 'Net Neutrality Act'...like the above said FCA of 1934...applies to today's internet because now, like then, it is an act that strives to make the modern day version of radio and wire...as in the internet...available to all U.S. citizens in a “fast and efficient way” both nationwide and worldwide, and to do so at what the government decides is reasonable charges.

Reasonable charges and even more new regulations...infamous words brought to you by the same Democrats who think ObamaCare's premiums, rules, and their playing doctor, are reasonable and in the public's best interest...sigh...

Now putting the internet in the same regulatory category as the telephone...meaning that internet providers will be reclassified as "common carriers"...this act bans providers from so-called “unjust or unreasonable business practices” saying that high-speed internet providers...including wireless carriers for smartphones and tablets in addition to wired lines...providers like Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile...will now have to act in what they...the F.C.C. and the Obama regime...deem to be in the “public interest” when providing a mobile connection to your home or phone. Also, this act claims it will make it illegal...as in criminal...for companies to slow down the streaming of videos, games, and other online content going out over their networks.

Again becoming the government's and the government's alone decision as to what is in the best “public interest.” So much for free enterprise and such...so much for investment possibilities, innovation, and the wishes of the public...the wishes of 'We the People'...to decide what is or is NOT in our best interest.

And if truth be told this 'Net Neutrality' nonsense all came about on the federal level...where else...because of a January 2014 decision by the ubber left D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that did away with key elements of the F.C.C.'s previous NOT as strict 'Open Internet' proposals. And of course Obama relished in this decision and pushed hard for it to be passed in his personally sanctioned guise of this so strict, so over-regulated, 'Net Neutrality Act.'

Over-regulated puts it mildly and while the F.C.C. says they will NOT...at this point in time anyway...get involved in pricing decisions...as in initiating or pushing for new tariffs or taxes...or in how individual companies manage their networks...know that will NOT last long as this government loves NOTHING better than to be involved in every aspect of our lives including how and where we spend our hard-earned dollars. Thankfully, Republicans in Congress have vowed to first, continue their argument that neither the F.C.C. nor Obama should get to decide how to regulate the internet as such a power should be afforded to Congress...and second, some Republicans are pushing 'Open-Internet' legislation that would supersede the F.C.C. rules. And while these new regulations will soon...as required by law...be published in the Federal Register and will become effective 60-days after publication...many Republicans feel this act will NOT survive judicial scrutiny and will result in numerous law suits. In fact, AT&T, Comcast, Cox Communications, and Verizon, are (rightfully) revving up to challenge the new rules in court.

And if this 'Net Neutrality Act' in and of itself was NOT bad enough, in conjunction with this vote, the Democratic majority voted to override current state laws to prevent community-run broadband networks in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Wilson, North Carolina, from expanding their geographic reach, thus preventing these locally managed networks from being able to compete with the larger cable and telecom companies. And this translates into what amounts to the F.C.C. unconstitutionally meddling in state's affairs...shades of Obama's loving to put the federal government's wishes...to put his personal wishes...above what are the all-critical, all-important, constitutionally mandated 'state's rights.'

And how will this disaster in the making affect 'We the People' both in a general sense and on the individual level...beyond the as expected 'Big Brother is Watching You' aspect. Simply stated, 'Net Neutrality' hinders and/or completely negates commonplace safety practices unless specifically excluded, provides too many loopholes for unethical exploits and practices to happen, and cannot in any way keep up with continuously improving and changing internet technology updates.

Also, 'Net Neutrality'...as passed...seems to have eliminated 'unbundling' (rules requiring service providers to lease out their lines on fair and nondiscriminatory terms)...translating into real service competition, like that which happened in the early days of the internet, to become a thing of the past.  Also at issue is how this act will specifically address ISP interconnection practices that are deemed "unjust and unreasonable." And lest we forget the important issue of how will the F.C.C. address consumer complaints as to what is “unjust and unreasonable”...would it be on a case-by-case basis that could result in litigation and law suits that could drag on for years at a huge expense to all concerned. And know in the end that it, as always, will be our taxpayer dollars that will have to pay for all this.

So when all is said and done 'Net Neutrality' is but another way for the federal government...for the Obama regime...to regulate free speech on the internet most especially opposing political speech...to control the free flow of uncensored information...and to keep records of what each person looks at, searches for, and gains access too.

Again, welcome to 1984...2015...Obama style.

Religious Cleansing, Obama-Style

Well, we can put to rest the notion that State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf committed a gaffe when she said that more jobs would keep Islamic militants from their genocidal mission.

Following the Islamic State’s beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya, she said: “We cannot win this war by killing them, we cannot kill our way out of this war. We need … to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs."

She was just giving the company line.

In a Feb. 19 Wall Street Journal column, “Our Plan for Countering Violent Extremism,” Harf’s boss, Secretary of State John Kerry, proclaimed that such killers are, indeed, victims of bad governance. If only we can “target our resources to meet the specific needs of those places” that hatch terrorists, we can end the madness, Mr. Kerry explained.

“Eliminating the terrorists of today with force will not guarantee protection from the terrorists of tomorrow,” he wrote. “We have to transform the environments that give birth to these movements.”

Imagine Winston Churchill speaking like that, even for a moment, as German bombs were falling on London.

“What the Nazi extremists need is a good urban renewal program,” Mr. Churchill, armed with Mr. Kerry’s insights, would have said while chomping a cigar and sketching out a midnight basketball schedule for Hamburg’s unfortunates.

In his article, Mr. Kerry used the terms “extremist,” “violent extremist” or “extremism” 12 times, never linking them to militant Islam. Never mind that the title of a video of the Christians’ beheadings by the Libyan branch of the Islamic State leaves no doubt as to the religious motive: “A Message Signed with Blood to the Nation of the Cross.”

It’s not about religion, you see. It’s about lack of upward mobility.

“The most basic issue is good governance,” Mr. Kerry elaborates. “It may not sound exciting, but it is vital. People who feel that their government will provide for their needs, not just its own, and give them a chance at a better life are far less likely to strap on an AK-47 or a suicide vest, or to aid those who do.”

Obama Tells Prosecutors They Have No Discretion On Immigration

President Obama's entire legal defense for his executive amnesty programs is that the executive branch must be afforded prosecutorial discretion when enforcing immigration laws.

So it might be a problem for his legal defense team when Obama admitted Wednesday at a Telemundo townhall that immigration officials under his policy have no prosecutorial discretion.

"The bottom line is that if somebody;s working for [Immigration and Customs Enforcement]  and there is a policy and they don't follow the policy there's going to be consequences to it."

When it was poured into the molds on Sept 9, 2003, 'those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence' recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. 'It was a spiritual moment for everybody there.' 

Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the Trade Center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the 'hair on my  neck stood up. It had a big meaning to it for all of us' he said. 'They knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're  going to be back.’

Islamic State (ISIS) savages planning to slaughter 150 Christians that they kidnapped, including women and children, unless the airstrikes are stopped

But it’s going to take them a little time to build enough immolation cages. ISIS is holding many more Assyrian Christians hostages than previously thought — and is planning to release a video threatening to kill them.

CNN  The abductions of the Christians took place Mondayafter ISIS seized two Assyrian communities from Kurdish forces in the northeast province of Hassakeh. Osama Edward, founder of the Assyrian Human Rights Network, told CNN that the extremist group is now believed to have 150 hostages, citing the latest information from the network’s team on the ground.

 

The video message will be directed to Barack Obama and other members of the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS, Edward said from Stockholm, Sweden. Edward, who has family in the area attacked by the terror group, said the latest information from the ground indicated the hostages had been moved to an ISIS-controlled location.

I Will Say What Many Fear Saying...Barack HUSSEIN Obama is NO Christian

Scott Walker, trying to keep the conversation on the issues at hand, added these words last Saturday at a meeting of the National Governors Association after being asked once again if he believed that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a Christian. “I don’t know,” Walker said in his comments that came just a week after he refused to comment on former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s (rightfully) said comment that Obama does NOT love America.

And while I give kudos to Governor Walker for at least questioning Obama's faith in that he said he doesn't know, the fact remains that Obama himself has proven time and time again that he is NO Christian NOT just in his policies that show where his true allegiances lie, but also show where his faith and his heart truly lie...and it's NOT with Christianity.

Let's start with the fact that this man was raised muslim in Indonesia...the world's most populous muslim country...attended muslim schools (madras) in Indonesia where he was registered as a muslim, and said when he first ran for president that the muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” And let's also NOT forget that NO church here in America has any record of him ever converting to Christianity from the muslim faith he was raised in...NO church...NOT even Reverend Wright's 'G-D America' church...the church he supposedly attended for over 20 years.

And dare we NOT forget Obama's 'slip' on national television when he said, “You’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my muslim faith and you’re absolutely right that that has not...” and George Stephanopoulos quickly interrupted him and said you mean, “your Christian faith”...to which Obama corrected himself and said “I mean my Christian faith.” Nope...he got it right the first time...it's his muslim faith.

So the man who hosts official Ramadan dinners in the state dining room at the White House...bows to muslim leaders and muslim heads of state...keeps saying the words 'holy qur'an' but NEVER 'Holy Bible' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrJQ8_vGOuI)...and who until recently refused to attend the National Day of Prayer because he said it would be 'offensive' to non-Christians...translation: to muslims...now wants us to believe he's a Christian.

Guess what...'We the People' are NOT that gullible NO matter how many times the media tries to force-feed us this line.

And so Obama continues on in his quest to get us believe that he's a Christian even after he outright damned his own 'supposed' faith at the recent National Prayer Breakfast by comparing the ISIS savages to the Crusades...the very Christian Crusades where Christian fighters stood strong against muslim interlopers both in Jerusalem and in Europe, And by his saying what he did, Obama's outward rejection of Christianity as a whole has come full circle. A rejection we've seen unfolding over recent years with his lack of actions, for example, against his brethren who beheaded 21 Coptic Christians, his mere gesture of dropping so-called 'aid packages' to the Yazidi Christians trapped by ISIS on a mountain top in Iraq, and with his refusing to get involved with helping to free American Christian Pastor Saeed Abedini, still imprisoned in Iran...with 'Christian' being the operative word in each and every case.

And knowing that Obama's actions (actions we sadly are all too aware of) along with his words said help define who this man really is...a muslim...leaving one to ask does Barack HUSSEIN Obama in any way believe in any of the tenets of Christianity...and the answer in a resounding word is NO.

For example, and remember his words say it all...at a meeting of evangelical leaders in 2008, Obama was asked whether he believed Jesus was the only way to salvation. Obama responded, "Jesus is the only way for me” NOT saying the all important words that he believed Jesus is the only way to salvation, because for Obama and those like him, Jesus is but a historical figure NOT the basis of the Christian faith and surely NOT the son of God. And when asked in an interview when he was first questioned about his being a Christian if he was 'born again,' Obama's answer was, “Yeah...[but] I retain...a suspicion of dogma...I think that religion at it's best comes with a big dose of doubt...I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die." A bona-fide believable admission of a biblical conversion this is NOT...but mostly assuredly the words of a conversion that NEVER happened.

And remember, Obama, the man who said it was part of his responsibilities as president, "to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear" when asked where he finds inspiration does NOT nor has he ever mentioned either a personal relationship or any relationship with Christ, yet he so loves to reference and allude to the qur'an...islam's anything but holy book...in many of his speeches. Remember when he went to Cairo in 2009 to give what he called a 'Speech to the Muslim World' and before he started bid the room...in a perfect Arabic accent... "assalaamu alaykum"..."peace be upon you"...words repeated many times in the qur'an as well as his using muslim words in his speech...words such 'zakat' when referring to charity.

Remember too when Obama said,“The future shall not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam,” or his claiming that ISIS...whom he fondly calls ISIL...(in recognition of the Levant which has Israel wiped from the map) is “not Islamic” when the very word 'islamic' is in their name itself.

And let's also NOT forget that throughout the history of the church...rather it be the Orthodox, the Catholic, or the Christian church...those of true faith have always opposed abortion because they believe that life begins at conception. And life beginning at conception is one of the critical tenets of Christendom yet supposedly Christian Obama is a staunch pro-abortion supporter...including his being a supporter of partial birth abortion...his being a staunch supporter of the infamous Planned Parenthood...and his having voted as a Senator against bills that prevented the killing of infants that are born alive or who have survived an attempted abortion. Translation...this man supports murder...this man outwardly supports going against one of the Ten Commandments...this man does NOT hold dear one very important belief that all true Christians hold dear...the sanctity of life.

So many instances to be cited but so little space in one mere article to do so, yet even with this space constraint one fact should shine clear about Barack HUSSEIN Obama...and that is that anyone who professes themselves to be a Christian... anyone who believes deep within their heart that they are a Christian...anyone who professes a belief in and love for Jesus Christ...and anyone who then tries to live their lives according to His teachings...does NOT act the way or say the words this most vile man does.

And while a true Christian has love for others, a compassion for those hurting, and is one who knows the meaning of the words 'friend' and 'ally' (in reference to the Jewish State of Israel)...a true Christian also knows and accepts the word ‘enemy'...and is NOT afraid nor ashamed to call out the enemy of both his friends and allies alike...as in to say the words 'muslim islamic terrorists...words the anything but a Christian Barack HUSSEIN Obama will NEVER say.

And lest we forget that a true Christian can keep both his humanity and humility even while giving his heart and soul over to God for what is unique unto each of us is the very thing that separates each of us...civilized men both Christian and Jew...from 'them'...from islamists...and sadly both things are lacking in the heart and soul of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

Marcus Tullius Cicero said it well (in a speech he gave on the Roman Senate floor in 58 BC), “A nation can survive fools, and even the ambitious but it cannot survive treason from within.” And I for one take stock in those words for Barack HUSSEIN Obama commits treason against both our country and against the soul of Christianity every time he opens his mouth and professes to be a Christian for his very words and actions prove he is anything but a Christian. 

And to that I say, "amen."
