Op-ed:
Abject Tyranny Disguised As Democracy
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor /

“A democracy is nothing more than
mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the
rights of the other forty-nine.”
- Thomas Jefferson, Founding Father and
third President of the United States
With “Trump Impeachment Syndrome”
continuing on in the Senate with part two of what is really an attempted political coup, most folks are ignoring or simply are
unaware of a certain all-important news item concerning the Supreme
Court. And it has nothing to do with Justice Ruth Ginsberg
retiring...she'll only leave “feet first” it seems...but
everything to do with the fact that the High Court recently decided
to settle during this its current term, the question of whether delegates to the Electoral College may cast their
votes for presidential candidates other than the ones they had
pledged to support.
And why is their decision of paramount
importance especially at this particular point in time...because a
questionable ruling would not only see our Founders and Framers
turning over in their graves, but would see our country being held
hostage by a handful of rogue electoral delegates who could tip the
2020 election in a way that most assuredly would not serve our
republic, “We the
People,” or the
Constitution well. And herein lies the key to what, I believe, will
be the justices final decision, and it comes down to the fact that
the United States of America is a republic
and is not now nor has it ever been a democracy.

So why is our being a republic key to
the justices' ruling... because as a
republic...as a “constitutional republic”...we
remain a nation of laws derived from the words set down in the
Constitution. And in these laws it very clearly states that “We the
People” will elect
representatives to be our voice in both the federal and local
government...and what is an Electoral College delegate but our representative to said body. But in what's called a “pure
democracy”... which is what the Democrats want...we would in
affect be doing away with the Electoral College or at the very least
be freeing its delegates to vote as they wish not as they pledged. And either scenario then allows for the possibility of our country becoming a “pure democracy,”
thus falling victim to majority
rule. And majority rule, more times than not, tends to turn
into mob rule, with
there being a fine line between mob rule, outright anarchy, and ultimate tyranny.
Simply, democracy
is not what the United States is nor was she ever intended to
be... democracy... “pure” or otherwise...is what we must
never become.
And why...because with democracy
basically translating into the above stated majority rule...where the
uniformed and/or the misinformed masses would vote directly on both the issues
and candidates they know little to nothing about...the very concept that is democracy itself...then becomes
anything but fair. How so...by seeing Thomas Jefferson's worst fear
coming to life...his fear that 51% of the population would be able to dictate and demand that their
wishes and wants be met by the now minority 49%, thus
turning democracy into the true
definition of mob rule...simply
a “do as we say or
else” scenario. And
the Supreme Court justices know this, as well as they know that our
country is and must remain a republic with the Electoral College
being kept intact.
But with “pure democracy”
being the Democrats endgame, and with there currently being more
registered Democrats than Republicans or Independents in today's
United States, there remains something Democrats forget or willingly
choose to ignore, with that being the fact that
democracy itself in its “pure form” tends not to
work no matter how hard they try to convince themselves and “We
the People” otherwise. Remember, with democracy being but
majority rule and with majority rule too easily morphing into mob
rule, what was at
first democracy now becomes anarchy due to both the irrationality
and the easily corruptible components of democracy itself. If you think
as a republic that votes are too easy to buy with promises of “free
stuff,” in a “pure democracy” it would not just be
easy but would become the new norm.

And let's not forget that democracy
itself is somewhat immature in its very nature for it lacks both the
maturity and the wisdom, let alone the very much needed legal framework, to
successfully dissuade
partisan hacks from running around like chickens with their heads cut
off... with "dissuade"
itself being the operative word. A perfect example comes courtesy of the
very Democrats who not only scream that America is a
democracy, but who at the same time immaturely continue to cry,
whine, and seek thug justice for Hillary Clinton's Electoral College
loss to Donald J. Trump.
And it's here where we see so-called
democracy operating at its most immature worst as
Democrat thugs continue to spew the falsehood that America is a
democracy, and do so after not only having pushed through their majority held House
the impeachment of this duly-elected president but who now in the
Senate phase have banded together to threaten, demand,
scream, and of course lie...in an out for blood effort to remove
said president from office. If that's not the very definition of
political thugs turning into
an angry mob...a mob
unabashedly now trying to dictate the rules and sway the outcome
of said trial...then it actually skirts the border of anarchy itself,
albeit anarchy without a single gunshot having been fired...to date.

How so...because with Congressional
Democrats trying every way possible to bring President Trump down
simply because the outcome of the 2016 election was so not to their
liking, and with Hillary's still blind-following sheeple and
mainstream media cohorts egging them on...they collectively consider
this president's authority null and void and do not accept nor
respect him as our country's rightful authoritative head let alone as it's
commander-in-chief. And what is anarchy but
the nonacceptance of governmental authority.
And know that if the Democrats do get
their wish and the justices decide in the delegates favor, that
decision would actually become the first step towards fundamentally
changing our nation from its being a republic into its becoming a
“mob ruled” pseudo-democracy...a
change that in time would give Democrats the chance to mold said
pseudo-democracy into their vision of a socialist utopia. And while
it's but a one in a million chance that the justices would side with
the Democrats what with the High Court now leaning conservative,
there's always a chance nevertheless for the justices have broken
ranks in the past as not all are true Constitutionalists.

With that said, know that the Electoral
College is there for a reason and that it alone holds the actual key
to the presidency. Remember, it's the Electoral College that
actually decides who the president will be not the much too easily manipulated so-called “popular
vote”...the very vote that would determine the presidency if we ever were to become a “pure democracy.”
Right now as a republic
we see the District of Columbia
and 32 states removing and replacing
delegates...“faithless
electors” they're
called...or in some cases even fining them...if they refuse to pledge to vote for the
candidate who received a majority of the popular vote or a plurality*
of said vote because in these states the majority winner is awarded all of their state's electoral votes.
And this is how it should be as our Founders and Framers had enough
foresight to understand and take into account not only the new nation's disproportionate distribution of population as well as its
future population growth where less populated areas would then become politically irrelevant...but also to see the problems that would ensue if
America became a “pure
democracy.” And
this foresight
coupled
with learned wisdom basically
eliminated the possibility of a “mob
rule” mentality
becoming the norm when deciding who our nation's leader would
be.

Simply,
changing how the delegates vote or doing away with the Electoral
College would cause chaos of sorts for what in reality would
come next. Would we see the doing away with legislators themselves or
even allowing those elected to Congress to change their vote on a
bill or on a treaty that had already been signed into law...or
worse... would but a few influential diehards from highly populated states
with big enough mouths and deep enough pockets be able to change the
actual result of an election? Two questions worth considering in
light of the fact that we know Hillary and her supporters continue to
try to do just that by their claiming that Hillary won the 2016
“popular vote” only
to have that win taken away from her by what they consider the
“outdated”
concept known as the Electoral College. And it's this continuing
action regarding Hillary...an action being disguised as
“impeachment”...that
proves not only is the Electoral College anything but “outdated”
but that it's needed more today than ever before.
In
fact, the still ongoing impeachment facade...the still ongoing
political coup...is also anarchy in its own right, again albeit
without a single gunshot yet being fired.
So now as the Supreme Court
starts gearing up to hear appeals in two cases where the defendants
claim they were deprived of their rights under both Article II** of
the Constitution and the 12th Amendment***...one case from Washington
state the other from Colorado...both cases involving “faithless
electors” who at their
own discretion voted for someone other than Hillary Clinton even
though she had won the popular vote in each of their respective
states. Also to be decided is whether states can legally place actual
binding “restrictions”
on such electors.
And
even with the justices saying that the timing of the rulings allows
them to act without knowing which candidate in the 2020 election
might benefit from said rulings...we must still be watchful of this
unfolding story and do so with an eagle's eye if for no other reason
than the votes of only ten what's termed “faithless
electors” could have
changed the outcomes in five of the previous 58 presidential
elections. Remember, when all was said and done, hanging chads not
withstanding, George W. Bush only beat Al Gore by five electoral
votes. Imagine where we'd be today if it had gone the other way...if
the electors were free to vote as they wished...a scary thought
indeed.

But
for me, the real must be answered questions at the crux of this
matter is much larger than just these two cases. First, does the
Constitution of this republic
actually allow states to insist that electors vote for their party's
candidate and second, if the justices decide in favor of the
“faithless electors”
and against the states...against the republic...does
the republic
itself then immediately morph into a “pure
democracy” as the
Electoral College would then have been basically neutered. And that
alone could be the actual first step towards fundamentally changing our
nation from its being a republic into its becoming a
mob ruled themed
pseudo-democracy.
Simply, a ruling
against the intent of the Constitution in regards to the Electoral
College renders our great republic inert. And while Democrats still
pretend that America is a democracy, the fact is that such pretending
is but a front for mob rule, And mob rule in time will bear witness
to outright anarchy prevailing for we patriots know that the republic
must be saved at all costs otherwise America herself will fall and
with it the freedoms she affords us...freedoms taken for granted by
some, freedoms many were and still are willing to fight and die for.
June's Supreme
Court decision cannot come soon enough and lets hope it finally puts
the entirety of the issue of doing away with the Electoral College to rest.

* Plurality means
less than 50 percent of the vote but more than any other candidate
** Article II,
Section 1, Clauses 2-4 pertains to the actual logistics, set-up, and
responsibilities of the Electoral College
*** Passed by
Congress December 9, 1803, and ratified June 15, 1804, the 12th
Amendment provided for separate Electoral College votes for President
and Vice President, correcting weaknesses in the earlier electoral
system which were responsible for the controversial Presidential
Election of 1800.
