Random thoughts on the passing scene: 

 
I don't know why we are spending our hard-earned money paying taxes to support a criminal justice system, when issues of guilt and innocence are being determined on television -- and even punishment is being meted out by CNN's showing the home and address of the policeman accused in the Ferguson, Missouri shooting. 

 

One of the big differences between Democrats and Republicans is that we at least know what the Democrats stand for, whether we agree with it or not. But, for Republicans, we have to guess.

It is amazing how many otherwise sane people want Israel to become the first nation in history to respond to military attacks by restricting what they do, so that it is "proportionate" to the damage inflicted by the attacks.

Amid all the things being said on all sides about the massive, illegal influx of children from countries in Central America, we have yet to hear some American parent saying, "I don't owe it to anybody to have my child exposed to diseases brought into this country, no matter what problems exist in other countries!"

Two headlines in the August 10th New York Times speak volumes about Barack Obama. The top headline reads: "Iraq Strikes May Last Months, Obama Says." A secondary headline reads: "No Ground Force Will Be Sent, He Repeats." Time was when enemy spies had to risk their lives to acquire such information. Now all they have to do is read the headlines.

It is amazing how many people think they are doing blacks a favor by exempting them from standards that others are expected to meet.

If you want to know who was the greatest baseball player of all time, please check out the pitcher who led the American League with the lowest earned run average in 1916. He was the only ballplayer who could do it all, including stealing home.

British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was a hawk compared to Barack Obama. At least Chamberlain was building up his country's military forces while trying to appease Hitler. Obama is cutting back on our military forces while our enemies around the world are expanding theirs.

Medical authorities who are trying to reassure us that safeguards will prevent the spread of Ebola in the United States may be unconvincing to those of us who remember how they lied about whether AIDS could be transmitted by blood transfusions. They may be telling the truth this time, but credibility is one of those things that are far easier to maintain than to repair.

Too many people in Washington are full of themselves, among other things that they are full of.

However common it may be in politics to "split the difference" when making decisions, it is unconscionable to send American troops into a war zone in numbers too small to defend themselves.

The smug and smirking contempt of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, when he began testifying before a Congressional committee in the IRS scandal investigation, told us all we needed to know, even if we never get the information that was supposedly "lost" when Lois Lerner's computer supposedly crashed.

Ted Williams' great career was interrupted twice by military service -- once during World War II and again when he returned to the Marine Corps during the Korean war. What sports star today would voluntarily interrupt a Hall of Fame career to go fight for America, after having already served in the military?

Despite TV pundits who say that public opinion polls show Barack Obama is in trouble, the president is not in the slightest trouble. He is doing whatever he feels like doing, regardless of the Constitution and regardless of how many people don't like it, because he is virtually impeachment-proof. The country is in huge trouble and real danger because of his policies, but he is not.

One of the most frustrating aspects of watching television news programs that feature debates is the guests who sidestep any question that gets to the heart of the issue at hand, and just go off on a tangent, repeating their standard talking points. That's usually a good time to change the channel or turn off the TV.

If politics were like sports, we could ask Israel to trade us Benjamin Netanyahu for Barack Obama.

Of course, we would have to throw in trillions of dollars to get Israel to agree to the deal, but it would be money well spent.

Former Israeli Ambassador Yoram Ettinger: The Goal of Israel Should Never Be Ceasefire

JERUSALEM - The current ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been extended for an additional 24-hours as negotiations surrounding a long-term peace agreement between the two sides continue in Egypt. 

Speaking in an interview with Townhall and members of the National Religious Broadcasters last night, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yoram Ettinger said that until Israel has finished necessary attacks against Hamas resources, including on tunnels and missile launch sites, the job against the terrorist organization is not done.

"Some thirty plus tunnels were destroyed by Israel. I have no doubt, no doubt, that since we, so far, have not chosen to go deeper into Gaza that there are definitely are many more tunnels in Gaza and therefore this is still an unfinished agenda, unfinished business," Ettinger said. "Not only that, there are hundreds of underground manufacturing facilities for the missiles, especially for the long range missiles. They not only rely on smuggling in, they're also manufacturing and the manufacturing facilities are underground just like their headquarters, just like their inventories."

Ettinger stressed that the discovery of extensive tunnels from Gaza to Israel was a bi-product of a larger goal for Israel against Hamas, which includes destroying the main missile and rocket launching capabilities underground, in neighborhoods and near or in schools and hospitals. He also said that until those capabilities are completely destroyed, Israel should not be agreeing to any kind of ceasefire deal.

"The aim of the war, the goal of the war as far as I have seen was not to take of the tunnels, this was absolutely not part of the initial goal of the war. The initial goal of the war was to take care of their launching capabilities, of their missile capabilities and in that respect my position has been not only from day one of this war but for number of years that the goal of Israel should never be ceasefire, the goal of Israel should always be the annihilation of the infrastructure of fire and when I say infrastructure I mean especially the ideological and political as well as the military and the manufacturing," he said. "This unfortunately has not been obtained yet."

Hamas-CAIR Exploits Race Card in Ferguson to Further Divide, Destroy

Once again, Hamas-CAIR pounces on a divisive, ugly issue that is dividing America and seeks to exploit it for their own nefarious Islamic supremacist demands. Using the violence in Ferguson as a wedge issue, Hamas-CAIR is tying the faux “islamophobia” fiction to the ugly chaos in Missouri.

Much like the racebaiter, Reverend Al Sharpton, whom CAIR is honoring at their annual banquet, CAIR means to mine this latest meltdown to further their malevolent, supremacist agenda.

Never mind that blacks are oppressed and persecuted in Muslim countries (the word for black people in Arabic is “abeed,” or slave).

CAIR is exploiting the black community for their own malevolent ends.

And why is the media aiding and abetting this obvious subversion? The local FOX affiliate had CAIR’s notorious hater Dawud Walid on a panel to discuss the killing of a young black man in Ferguson. Walid implies that “police brutality” extends beyond the black community to “other suppressed communities.” What is the Executive Director of CAIR doing on a show about race?

Islam is not a race, it’s an ideology.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad fully control UN agency for “Palestinian” “refugees”

“Hamas’ takeover of the UNRWA institutions and UNRWA staff should set off alarms regarding the possibility of funding given by donor countries — primarily the United States — finding its way to financing the salaries of Hamas and Islamic Jihad activists.” Yep.

WASHINGTON — Hamas and Islamic Jihad have effectively captured the United Nations agency to care for Palestinian refugees, a report said.

The Center for Near East Policy Research asserted that Hamas and Jihad controlled the UN Refugee and Works Agency in the Gaza Strip. In a report, the U.S.-based center said Hamas operatives were in control of UNRWA’s labor union and that refugee camps served as a recruiting ground for Islamist fighters.

“Over the years, UNRWA has become a convenient surrogate for terrorist organizations, led by Hamas, which unrestrictedly dominates the UNRWA workers union, and its men — along with educators from the Islamic Jihad and other groups — are the ones who educate generations of descendants of Palestinian refugees about the values of jihad against Israel and all infidels,” the report, titled “The UNRWA-Hamas Axis,” said.

Author Jonathan Halevi, a leading Israeli analyst on Palestinian affairs, cited the discovery of rocket caches in several UNRWA schools during the Hamas war with Israel in July and August 2014. Halevi also said Hamas built an attack tunnel from a UN health clinic and boobytrapped the facility.

The report said the UNRWA union has been under control of Hamas operative Suheil Al Hindi, who won a landslide victory in elections in 2012. The 11,500 employees gave Hamas all 11 seats in UNRWA’s teachers’ union and 14 out of 16 seats in the employees and service sectors.

“Al Hindi, who in the past also headed the teachers’ sector at UNRWA, does not hide his affinity for the Hamas organization and takes part in overt political activities as its representative,” the report, released in August 2014, said. “In his capacity and as a supervisor of student summer camps, Al Hindi has a tremendous impact on the UNRWA education system and the contents taught in it.”

“UNRWA’s management is well aware, at least since 2004, of the fact that Suheil Al Hindi, who headed the UNRWA teachers sector, is a senior Hamas activist who supports jihad against Israel and suicide bombings,” the report said.

Another leading Hamas figure in UNWRA was identified as Issa Abdul Hadi Al Batran.

The report said the 41-year-old Al Batran has been a senior member of Hamas’ Izzedin Kassam military wing. In 2009, Al Batran was fired after he was seriously injured when a bomb developed for Hamas prematurely exploded.

Other leading insurgents employed by UNRWA included Awad Al Qiq, a principal at a UN school as well as head of Jihad’s weapons production unit. Said Siyam served as a teacher for UNWRA for 23 years until he became Hamas interior minister.

“Despite being a well-known senior activist in Hamas, UNRWA did not take steps to remove him [Siyam] from its ranks,” the report said.

In all, dozens of Hamas military commanders were said to have begun as employees for UNRWA. The report said Jihad also infiltrated the UN agency.

Democrats Must Denounce Rick Perry Indictment

Democrats know a lot about criminalizing the political process — and the terrible consequences to our nation and our democracy when it happens.

We saw it happen again and again in the 1990s, after multiple Cabinet secretaries in the Bill Clinton administration were "investigated" by "independent counsels" — and every one of them resulted in no conviction, despite the rush to judgment and the media's use of the word "scandals" when an "investigation" is worth even less than an "indictment" as evidence of actual wrongdoing.

We Democrats also pride ourselves on our liberalism and commitment to due process and the presumption of innocence embedded in the U.S. Constitution. That is why my father taught me that when Sen. Joe McCarthy, R-Wis., used innuendo and accusation to destroy reputations without a fair trial or any due process, it was contrary to all our liberal principles.

Yet we see the shameful indictment of Texas Gov. Rick Perry by the Travis County (Austin) district attorney because Perry vetoed funding of the public corruption unit. He did so after the district attorney leading that unit had pleaded guilty to drunken driving.

Whether or not Perry was right or wrong in vetoing that funding, motivated by good reasons or bad reasons, is not relevant. The voters get to decide that issue. But it is a perversion of the criminal justice system, a classic case of prosecutorial abuse, to indict Perry as a way of deciding the wisdom of his veto. Voters should decide that, not a prosecutor.

It is even more outrageous to anyone who cares about due process and civil liberties to read the comments from local and state Democrats in the state Texas Democratic Party about the Perry indictment. Most of the comments I read used language of guilt or a presumption of wrongdoing because of the fact of the indictment.

Have these Democrats rushing to make public comments any clue that a prosecutor almost always can, as has been said by many lawyers for a long time, "indict a ham sandwich" if they wish? The grand jury hears only a one-sided presentation of evidence by the prosecutors. No rebuttal is allowed. No cross-examination fundamental to due process is allowed.

In fact, an indictment is evidence of nothing. It is literally just an accusation, not even close to proven facts. Yet I read some Texas Democrats calling for Perry to resign — resign!

These cannot be Democrats who care about civil liberties or due process, much less the credibility of our party, which has always denounced those who presume guilt or even suggest wrongdoing after an indictment alone.

In my opinion, silence by Democrats about the Perry indictment and Democratic comments rushing to assume wrongdoing isn't acceptable.

If a Republican prosecutor had obtained this indictment against a sitting Democratic governor, and Republican partisans rushed to imply wrongdoing, much less guilt as a result of an indictment before trial, is there any doubt we Democrats would be publicly outraged?

No.

The double standard cannot be tolerated.

McCarthyism is McCarthyism — accusation and innuendo and "investigations" used as surrogates for facts and truth and due process — whether by the left or the right.

Democratic elected officials, especially Democratic attorneys general and district attorneys across the nation, must call on the Travis County district attorney to withdraw this absurd indictment, and Democratic Party leaders should publicly ask Texas Democrats who have rushed to public judgment of Gov. Perry to withdraw their comments . . . and apologize.

There can be only a single standard when it comes to our belief in the due process clause and the implied presumption of innocence in our Constitution.

OK people let's get something straight...a Grand Jury WILL indeed indict Officer Darren Wilson simply because he is white...as in payback for Trayvon Martin. The 'supposed' black leaders will call for the death penalty simply because Darren Wilson is white.. NEVER mind new evidence shows that the 6' 4" almost 300lb. black thug, Michael Brown, was 'charging' at him. 

Obama's speech of yesterday fueled on last night's resumption in rioting and violence, because in NO way did he condemn the 'animals' using this situation as an excuse to steal from innocent business owners. Obama is in cohoots with the race-baiters Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson because he hates whites (even though he is half white) as much as they do. 

Obama's now sending Eric Holder to Ferguson is being done just to stir up the pot even more for had it been a 'black' officer taking down a 'white' thug NOT a word would have been said by the media... NOT a word would have been said by anyone. And, by the way, if the media would just stop reporting on this incident ad-nauseum, the 'animals' would lose their audience and this story would go back to being a local story...which is really what it is.

All this 'orchestrated anger' over a thug is just an excuse to riot and loot (as in yippee more 'free stuff'). Destroying their own town in the name of a black thug being killed in the line of duty by a white officer...means the only ones who will come out on top in this situation is the 'supposed' black leaders who will continue to rake in the profits by keeping the own people down.

An Alliance Forges Ahead...An Alliance Obama Never Expected

Well he's done it again folks...stabbed Israel in the back that is.

And while some might think this is NO big deal for they still harbor the old hatreds against Jews...this is indeed a big deal for while we know Obama hates both Israel and Jews...except when the Jews open their wallets to line the Democratic coffers that is...his newest deliberate action against the Jewish state is his delaying or outright canceling arms and munitions sales to them after finding out that the Pentagon had been approving the sale of munitions to Israel without his exalted approval...which they did NOT need by the way...bypassing Obama's approval in favor of that of Israel's allies in Congress.

Now setting Israel up as the only nation whose sales and transfers of arms must be monitored, reviewed, and then approved by both the State Department and the White House...and doing so for even routine munitions requests by Israel...what was once handled strictly as a military-to-military matter by the Pentagon...Obama has now given himself and John 'Swiftboat' Kerry, alone or together, the definitive yea or nay as to what arms and munitions will or will NOT go to our only true ally and friend in the Middle East.

And with this unilateral decision on Obama's part, the what was set-to-go transfer of precision strike hellfire missiles to Israel has been put on hold. And with his using this transfer as an attempt to force Benjamin Netanyahu into stepping back his attacks on Gaza, many of Israel's leaders... leaders like the Labor Party's Miri Regev...now believe that, "We (Israel) can only rely on ourselves.”

But that might NOT be quite so for Israel has now forged new friendships of sorts... to Obama's chagrin I might add...friendships with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and even with Russia to some extent. And alliances have been formed with Egypt's President el-Sisi and...shock of all shocks...with Mahmoud Abbas of PA infamy. But while this alliance will well serve Israel, Egypt, and the Palestinians in their quest for a homeland, let's NOT forget that for this alliance to stand strong, the PA charter must be amended to remove any and all references that Jews must be killed.

And contrary to Obama's stance, these three men know the truth about Hamas, and together insist that Hamas accept Egypt's ceasefire proposal unchanged and unconditionally or face an escalated war that Israel will surely win...and will do so with Egypt by their side. And most importantly, these three men have now demanded that Obama's hand and EU interference be kept out of any and all peace negotiations from here on out.

But this new alliance...an alliance where Obama has now been rightfully delegated to being NOTHING but a bystander...means little to him as he continues to stab Israel in the back with one hand while shaking the hands of both terrorist supporting Turkey and Qatar with his other.

And get this...Turkey...like a kid in a candy store...has gone shopping, so to speak, at America's weapons depositories comprising a want-list that includes 145 AMRAAMs, 10 missile guidance sections, and 40 LAU-129 launchers. Also they've included on their want-list containers, support equipment, spare and repair parts, integration activities, publications and technical documentation, test equipment, personnel training and training equipment, government and contractor logistics, engineering and technical support, along with other related elements and program support.

Now here's the kicker, the Obama administration has said that this sale meets "consistency with U.S. national interests" (but Israel's does NOT) and approved it all. But by his selling these advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles and all other things asked for by Turkey, Obama is again dealing in arms with the same country he (I believe) funneled weapons through to Syria in the fiasco known as Benghazi. And Turkey is NO friend of Israel as they are a main source of monetary support for Hamas and its parent of sorts, the Muslim Brotherhood.

And if the Turkey deal doesn't have you hopping mad, add into the mix that Obama recently signed an agreement with Qatar to sell them Apache attack helicopters and both Patriot and Javelin air-defense systems, never mind that Qatar is one of the main financiers and supporters of both Hamas and ISIS.

So in reality, the Obama administration has now directly funded with weapons our ally Israel's enemy Hamas, and has directly funded with U.S arms being sold to Turkey and Qatar the most barbaric of all savage terrorist groups...this being the group known as ISIS...a group who has publicly announced its flag will soon fly over the White House.

And let's be honest here...Obama would probably hoist their flag up the flagpole himself if he could.

Now please don't say, 'oh you just hate Obama,' because if truth be told his actions...or lack thereof...speak for themselves as all his chest pounding that he's attacking ISIS really amounts to NOTHING of substance for a few 'targeted strikes' here and there will in NO way lead to the defeat of the very ones out to kill us all...that is all of us who do NOT have prayer rugs in their homes.

And now with his continuing to stab Israel in the back by supplying weapons to her enemies, and with his aiding in the birth of ISIS by leaving NO troops behind in Iraq to help keep the peace, Obama heads off to Estonia next month to assure the former Soviet republic and other countries in central and eastern Europe...countries who fear that Russia's and Putin's aggression into Ukraine might spread...that he and America have their backs...yeah right.

And with Obama saying that this upcoming trip offers him the opportunity to discuss regional security, economic growth, and collective defense issues with the region's leaders, if I was one of those leaders I would be leery indeed for Barack HUSSEIN Obama will try to sell them out to his brethren just like he has tried but thankfully failed to do with Israel.

But as far as Israel is concerned Obama's just warming up as he's got two-and-half years left to try and reach that goal...good muslim that he is.
