Today is Memorial Day, a day to honor the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep
our country free. Never forget them for to do so is to dishonor the

Op-ed:
A Monster Resides in the Empire State
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots on Right Side Patriots Radio
"He
has (their) blood on his hands. He really does. There's no way to sugarcoat
this,"Why in the world would you be sending coronavirus patients
to a nursing home, where the most vulnerable population to this
disease resides?"...so said
a Queens, New York nursing home executive.
Why else indeed, but know that before he exposed himself as the monster that he is, he received much media praise for his response to COVID-19. Well, he did before more than 23,000 people in New York State died from COVID-19., and he did before 25% of those deaths...over 5,600 deaths...more deaths than on 911...were in the state's 613 regulated nursing homes. And it was before he callously said that older people are going to die from the virus "despite whatever you do," and before he actually told nursing homes administrators that they must accept back into their facilities patients who had tested positive for COVID-19.
And his exact words spoken were, “That is the rule, and that is the regulation, and [nursing homes] have to comply with it.”
And it all started back on March 25th when Cuomo and the New York Department of Health recklessly ordered the first nursing home...a nursing home in Queens that up to that point had been COVID-19-free...to take into their facility two recently discharged hospital patients after their COVID-19 infections were deemed “stable,” which we now know were anything but. Saying to the nursing home administrators that it was their “basic fiduciary obligation” to take in these two elderly patients...patients who now unknowingly would became ground zero in the soon to come nursing home fiasco...for along with the patients the nursing home received personal protection equipment for the staff to use when treating said patients along with a “generous supply” of body bags. Translation: Governor Cuomo and the hospital from which those elderly sick folks were discharged knew damn well what horrors they were unleashing on what Cuomo later called, “our senior family members who we owe nothing but gratitude and respect.”
And from this point on the Grim Reaper began paying calls on nursing homes throughout the New York City area and the state...the very state that now shows 22 of its nursing homes as having at least 40 deaths with most of those nursing homes being in New York City and on Long Island, and with 62 nursing homes now showing between 20 and 39 deaths...thus turning Cuomo's supposed “gratitude and respect” into nothing but the forced culling of the elderly herd, if you will. In fact, the Queens nursing home itself where it all began saw 30 patients succumbing to COVID-19 within but a few weeks time of the two anything but “stable” patients arriving. And from there the number of nursing home deaths began to skyrocket to where they now reach the aforementioned 25% of all New York's COVID-19 deaths.
In fact, Andrew Cuomo is the same man, the same monster, who even while he later rescinded it, first announced that with so many COVID-19 related calls coming into 911, that first responders are under orders not even to try and resuscitate cardiac arrest patients if they don't have a pulse upon their arrival on scene. And who are most, but obviously not all, cardiac arrest patients...folks on the older side of life's timeline.
Amazing how much Andrew Cuomo must hate the fact that he himself is growing older...that he could actually get Medicare now if he so chose to, after all he's 62 years old and in six months time he'll be 63. I just wonder how the governor would feel if he became the recipient of his own COVID-19 draconian mandates.
And maybe it's that possible reality that is now coming into play or maybe it's simply because Governor Cuomo's cruel and uncaring nursing home order...an order he still claims was issued "solely to help ease the burden" on hospitals treating COVID-19 patients...has truly become nothing but a political albatross he knows he has to break free of what with him and his party now thinking about his running for president in 2024.
And so we saw Andrew Cuomo trying to “save political face” by his recently announcing during a televised press conference what amounted to a reversal of his current nursing home policy...or did he? Saying that patients must now definitively test negative for COVID-19 before they can be discharged from a hospital to any of New York's nursing homes, Cuomo then tried to claim that nursing homes were never “actually forced” to admit COVID-19 patients as they were “free to try dumping” these folk off on other facilities more medically equipped to take them. In fact, Cuomo actually tried to get those gathered and those listening at home to believe that the now supposed reversal of policy would actually give nursing homes and long-term care facilities what they, he claimed, had been asking for all along, as in the ability to “screen incoming residents for COVID-19” before being admitted.
But
for those who foolishly took Governor Cuomo's words to heart, the
fact is that his now pretty sounding words actually were not really a
policy reversal, especially not when New York's nursing homes had for
too long already been denied the ability to conduct tests for
COVID-19 before they allowed a patient to brought in. Remember, the
New York Health Department's original March issued order stated that,
"[nursing homes] are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized
resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19
prior to admission or readmission," with
Andrew Cuomo now changing those words to state that, "We're
just not going to send a person who is positive to a nursing home
after a hospital visit. Period. If there's any issue, the resident
must be referred to the department of health which will find
alternative care."
Truthfully, how are these recently stated words of Cuomo's...along with his words to the affect that now the nursing, the medical staff, and all auxiliary employees of nursing homes will be required to take two diagnostic tests each week to check for COVID-19 and that, “If a nursing home operator does not follow these procedures, they will lose their license”...how are any of these words really different from any of the other previous words issued from either Andrew Cuomo himself or from the New York Health Department. Simply, they're not especially when the reality is that when when one is released from a hospital into “alternate care” that usually means they're going to either a nursing home, a long-term care facility or to an undetermined stay at a rehabilitation center...with all those facilities being home to the most vulnerable amongst us.
And the fact is that Andrew Cuomo's newest words, along with his spewing that “no other state is doing this and that New York state has the most aggressive standard in the nation,” are but paramount to talking out of both sides of his mouth. And that's something that is the hallmark of nearly every Democrat politician to date...as well as being words that he hopes will help negate a fair amount of his recent unfavorable media headlines...headlines that nursing home residents were not a priority for him, which if truth be told they were not.
So now as Governor Cuomo works to push for more federal funding for state and local governments as they continue to work to combat COVID-19, last week he also stated that “nobody” should be prosecuted for nursing home deaths. And the governor said this no matter that New York's nursing home death count numbers are really much higher than those now being reported, something I'm sure he already knows.
How so? According to Richard Mollot, the man who heads the Long Term Care Community Coalition, an advocacy group for nursing home residents and I quote, “I am concerned that not reporting deaths of residents who have gone to the hospital hides the extent to which COVID-19 is spreading in facilities.” And guess what...so am I for the fact is that while older folks are indeed the most vulnerable to the virus, no one has the right to arbitrarily decide who is worth saving and who is not.
And to that affect Andrew Cuomo held a May 17th press conference, where he seems to have made himself the arbiter of just that decision, as per this response given to a reporter present who stated that those who lost loved ones in nursing homes due to COVID-19 were just “looking for accountability and they feel that they were failed, what’s the comment to that?"
And Cuomo's response to the question was, “How
do we get justice for those families? Who can we prosecute for those
deaths? Nobody. Mother Nature, God, where did this virus come from?
People are going to die by this virus, that is the truth.” And
to that he callously added, “Older people, vulnerable people, are
going to die from this virus. That is going to happen despite
whatever you do, with all our progress as a society, we can't keep
everyone alive. Older people are more vulnerable. That is a fact that
is not going to change.”
Then when pressed even further about accountability, Andrew Cuomo said that the most important thing for him was to make sure "you can have a situation where everyone did the right thing and everyone tried their best," and that his top priority was making sure the medical system did not get overwhelmed, calling that an "accountable, avoidable situation."
Oh really...the very man who is talking about accountability is again talking out of both sides of his mouth, because Governor Andrew Cuomo surely didn't even try to do his best when sending COVID-19 patients into the nursing homes of the most vulnerable. So what is the answer in regards to accountability? Maybe accountability is best served when the good folks of New York vote this monster out as they best lookout for who might be next on Cuomo's “vulnerable” list...as in just maybe it will be you.

And he of course is New York's own Governor Andrew Cuomo, a man now trying desperately to crawl out of the hole he himself dug for only a monster would deliberately put the elderly, the frail, and the sick at risk of dying from the virus from China, and doing so for political expediency coupled with self-serving and self-gratifying media soundbites alone.
