Hegseth, military brass describe 'incredible and overwhelming success' of US strikes on Iran
Dubbed 'Operation Midnight Hammer,' the strikes obliterated three Iranian nuclear facilities

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan "Razin" Caine held a press conference from the Pentagon early Sunday morning to relay details on the U.S. military's successful strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

"Last night, on President Trump's orders, U.S. Central Command conducted a precision strike in the middle of the night against three nuclear facilities in Iran Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan in order to destroy or severely degrade Iran's nuclear program," Hegseth said on Sunday morning from the Pentagon.

"It was an incredible and overwhelming success. The order we received from our commander in chief was focused. It was powerful, and it was clear we devastated the Iranian nuclear program. But it's worth noting the operation did not target Iranian troops or the Iranian people for the entirety of his time in office," Hegseth continued.

The press conference was held following President Donald Trump addressing the nation at 10 p.m. on Saturday evening, just hours after he announced the successful strikes on a trio of Iranian nuclear facilities.

My Take on “Operation Midnight Hammer”

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” These words were spoken on June 12, 1987, when President Ronald Reagan challenged Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to dismantle the “Berlin Wall”...the physical barrier that not only separated East and West Germany, but symbolized the “Cold War” divide. And while tensions between the U.S. and the Soviet Union did tone down somewhat, the wall itself only fell when on November 9,1989, the German people started dismantling it themselves, brick by brick, ultimately resulting in reunification of Germany.

Over the past few months President Trump tried to get Iran to not only “negotiate for peace” regarding it's war with Israel, but to abandon its nuclear program...a program not initiated for peaceful purposes but for the development of nuclear bombs...bombs whose destinations would be Israel and the U.S.

And when Iran decided they'd rather go to war than dismantle anything, Trump dismantled said program for them in a“divert and deflect” precision operation, where Iran's nuclear ambitions were “bunker bombed” into oblivion. Now it's up to the Iranian people to follow the German peoples lead of 35 years ago and take “regime change” into their own hands.

Two great presidents striving for peace, but “peace through strength” for “strength” is what makes peace possible. Weakness was not an option for Reagan nor was it for Trump especially with Iran being the worldwide “state sponsor of terrorism,” thus an “existential threat to us all.” Trump gave Iran every opportunity to stop fighting and agree to nuclear disarmament, but it's hard to reason with a radical, theocratic based regime who believe that their cause is just and that God...in this case allah...is on their side.

So now we wait and see what comes next. Will “regime change” happen ...will a “populist/ resistance” movement be able to overtake the remnants of what's left of Khomeini's faithful...will Israel “take out” Khomeini...or will his death, thus martyrdom, become a rallying cry for the ideologues even though the Iranians wanting change far out number them? Or would retaliatory actions taken by Iran lead to further joint Israeli/U.S. actions being needed, as in take out Iran's oil fields thus crashing their economy?

Only time will time, but until then congratulations must go out to President Trump, our military, and to Benjamin Netanyahu and the IDF...partners in war, partners in peace. Case closed.

Ukraine showers Trump with praise for strikes on Iran while ex-Russian prez floats giving Tehran nukes
Ryan King / NEW YORK POST

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry cheered the US strikes against Iran, and backed President Trump’s assertion that Tehran cannot be permitted to obtain nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev blasted the move and starkly warned that “countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” while chiding that Trump can kiss his dreams of a Nobel Peace Prize goodbye.

“As early as this spring, the United States warned Iran of the consequences in the absence of constructive steps,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Iran is complicit in the crime of aggression against Ukraine. The Iranian regime is providing military assistance to Russia, including the supply of UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] and technologies that Russia consistently uses to kill people and destroy critical infrastructure.”

Throughout the war, Russia has turned to Iran and North Korea for resources to assist in its bloody invasion of neighboring Ukraine. Iran has supplied the Russians with critical drone technology. Read more, see X and video here.
