Legendary GOP campaign strategist Lee Atwater was guided by a political maxim he called the Napoleonic rule: Never interfere with the enemy when it is in the process of defeating itself.

Atwater, a master political infighter without peer, would be jumping up and down with glee if he had lived to see what is now happening to President Obama and his party in the 2014 midterm elections.

To say the Democrats, led by Obama's many blunders, are tearing themselves apart is putting it mildly. Some of his top advisers are blowing the whistle on him. Consider what has happened in just the last few weeks.

Leon Panetta, Obama's former secretary of Defense, has written a tell-all book about his disagreements with Obama over disengaging from the war on terrorism. And he doesn't pull any punches.

In a brutally candid history of the internal battles over policy, Panetta says that Obama's eagerness to pull out of Iraq as fast as possible has led to the blitzkrieg rise of the Islamic State armies who now threaten the entire region and very possibly our own homeland security.

The longtime Democratic Party leader said Obama "lost his way" by failing to arm the Syrian rebels and enforce his own "red line" threat to respond to Bashar al-Assad's use of chemical weapons against his own people.

All too often, Panetta writes, Obama "avoids the battle, complains, and misses opportunities," painting a portrait of a president who has a hard time making up his mind.

All too often, Obama "avoids the battle, complains, and misses opportunities," he says in his book, while criticizing his former boss's "frustrating reticence to engage his opponents and rally support for his cause.

If anyone still has confidence in Obama's ability to deal with the Islamic State and defeat it, Panetta's description of the president's disengaged style puts that to rest. All too often he has a tendency to fall back "on the logic of a law professor than the passion of a leader," he writes.

Heading into the homestretch of a critical congressional election, in which polls show the Republicans are going to pick up a lot of Senate seats, is tough enough.

“Let me be clear,” Attorney General Eric Holder emphatically declared in a 2012 speech to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, “we will not allow political pretexts to disenfranchise American citizens of their most precious rights.” Holder’s remarks were a call to arms against efforts by Republicans to require that voters show identification when they go to vote. His words reflect a belief that the right to vote is so “precious” that requiring individuals to show an ID before casting a vote is tantamount to being “disenfranchised.”

However, when it comes to protecting the right to “keep and bear arms” – which, unlike the right to vote, is a right expressly guaranteed in the Constitution itself – the Attorney General of the United States is nowhere to be found. Apparently our Second Amendment rights are just not “precious” enough to worry about when governments engage in actions expressly designed to “disenfranchise” individuals from exercising those rights.

The hypocrisy is so blatant it is painful.

Currently 32 states have implemented some variation of voter ID laws to curb election fraud. Nevertheless, these reasonable requirements -- well within states’ Tenth Amendment rights to implement -- have been the targets of repeated Justice Department threats and legal challenges. The Department argues that simply requiring a valid ID in order to vote -- the same that is required for purchasing alcohol, or attending Obama fundraisers -- places an unfair, racially-biased burden that threatens the constitutional rights of minorities.

If alleged racial discrimination is the catalyst for such intimidation by the Justice Department, the Department’s silence is deafening in the face of very real efforts by state and local governments to deny and limit the right to keep and bear arms. As noted in a recent report by the Washington Times, some states -- notably Illinois, for example -- are effectively denying citizens their right to carry concealed firearms by placing a number of costly and time-consuming obstacles in their way; and doing it in such manner as clearly to disproportionately impact minorities and lower-income individuals.

The double standard reflected in the Justice Department’s selective assertion of concern for minority rights is deeply disturbing. Even a ruling in one case earlier this year by U.S. District Court Judge Edmond Chang concluding that “certain fundamental rights,” such as those protected by the Second Amendment, should be “outside government's reach” and not entrusted to government stewards to protect, has not awakened Holder from his selective slumber.

The findings by the Washington Times illustrate the point convincingly. The newspaper’s research found that burdens such as expensive training and permitting procedures, coupled with lengthy bureaucratic delays in issuing concealed carry permits, hit minority and lower income citizens especially hard. In Illinois, a favored playground for gun control public officials, wealthy white residents hold 90 percent of concealed carry permits.

“There are a lot of systematic and economic barriers that make it difficult for South Side of Chicago residents, many of whom are African-American, to obtain concealed carry permits,” NAACP Illinois State Conference President George Mitchell told the Washington Times. “Some of the barriers include the high costs, time commitment, bureaucracy and the community’s distrust of the police.” The effect of these racially biased restrictions are compounded by gun control regulations that enable local law enforcement officials to deny gun permits for any reason, including many completely unrelated to an individual’s competency to own, possess or use a firearm.
Islamic State graffiti showing up in Washington, DC

Pamela Geller / Atlas Shrugs

How much support for the Islamic State is there among Muslims in the U.S.? No one knows, because the politically correct line is that there is none, and that line cannot be questioned or even examined.
Has anyone checked Obama’s desk for black markers?
“ISIL Graffiti Showing Up in DC,” Washington Free Beacon, October 7, 2014:

ISIL graffiti has been spotted in several places around Washington, D.C.
The vandalism appears to be “Allahu Akbar” written in Arabic followed by ISIS written in English, according to the Daily Intelligencer‘s Marin Cogan.
On Friday, I noticed something I don’t remember seeing before: ISIS-related graffiti around my Northwest...

Islamic State takes Syrian border town as Turkish army watches

/ Jihad Watch
ISFlagKobaneThe U.S. needs to reconfigure its alliances. The old Cold War arrangements are simply not adequate to deal with the reality of the jihad threat. But since U.S. officialdom is itself in denial about the jihad threat, the needed change is not on the horizon.

“As ISIS Take Kobane, NATO’s Second Largest Army Sits on the Sidelines,” by Alexander Christie-Miller, Newsweek, October 7, 2014:
As the black flag of the Islamic State (ISIS) rose above the Syrian town of Kobane on Monday, the soldiers of NATO’s second largest army stood and watched only a few hundred metres away.
As gunfire and explosions echoed across the border, fears were voiced about the potentially devastating long-term price Turkey may pay for remaining ambivalent to the plight of the Kobane’s Kurdish defenders.
“We will do everything possible to help the people of Kobane because they are our brothers and sisters,” Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told CNN as the town was close to falling on Monday.
However, they would only do so, he added, if there was a broader military commitment by Turkey’s allies to create a no-fly-zone in northern Syria, a move the United States has so far refused to back.
In Kobane itself, one of the town’s Kurdish fighters complained bitterly about their fate.
“We, the Kurds of Kobane, urged the international community including Turkey to help our resistance against ISIS by sending us weapons, logistics and ammunitions,” Delila Azad, a commander of the Women’s Protection Units, part of the Kurdish militia force defending the city, told Newsweek.
“We pleaded for help because ISIS threatens not only the Kurds but also the entire Middle East and the rest of the world… However, our call for solidarity has since fell on deaf ears in the international community and in Turkey.”
Analysts fear Turkey’s willingness to sit on the sidelines as the West’s ‘Public Enemy Number One’ moves in next door could badly damage a country that has been something of a bastion of stability in a troubled region.
Watching the fate of Kobane with horror and anger were Turkey’s own 15 million-strong Kurdish minority—nearly 20 per cent of the country—whose long history of insurrection against the Turkish state appeared until recently to be drawing to a close.
Many now fear the growing risk of blowback represented by the ISIS jihadist group, which thrives on instability and whose long term goal is to erect a Caliphate encompassing all the Muslim lands of the region.
“Turkey has helped create an environment in which it is in the first stage of ‘Pakistan-ization’,” says Halil Karaveli of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute, a security think tank, referring to Turkey’s alleged past toleration of the Islamic State, which Ankara denies.
He fears the next step is for the Islamic State, regardless of whether it is able to maintain its hold of the territory in Syria and Iraq, will be to turn its attention to Turkey in the same way as jihadists fighting in Afghanistan went on to wreak havoc in Pakistan….

Panic, Rumors, and the Truth About Ebola
By: Diane Sori

Ebola...a word that strikes fear in the hearts of Americans yet it is a word that is being overblown by the media. Five cases here in our country does NOT a pandemic make, and remember NONE of the cases were contracted here in the U.S. The doctor and nurse who contracted the virus while in Africa were treating active Ebola patients, were transported home for treatment, and both survived and infected NO one. Now an American photographer is back home in Nebraska under medical supervision in isolation. All three came home in containment... isolated and in quarantine...and posed NO danger to others. However, the other two cases are a different story all together as both persons knew they had the disease before they came to our shores...before they came to our shores knowing that they could infect others.

And while there have been dozens of 'suspected' Ebola cases around the U.S. in the past few weeks, all except the two mentioned above have turned out to be false alarms. False alarms because Ebola...while NOT easy to diagnose in its early stages because its initial symptoms like fever and headache can be symptoms of just about anything from simple flu to advanced something the media loves to report on on for the all-important ratings as they thrive on playing to the public's fears...and of course report on to deflect attention away from Obama's failed polices as the mid-terms approach. And while it's important to know that there are some being isolated who could possibly have but most likely NOT have Ebola, erring on the side of caution to protect the population is wise as it takes a full day or more to get test results back from the CDC to confirm whether a person actually has Ebola or NOT.

So, the media either needs to tell the truth about Ebola or shut up as they are leading people to believe things about Ebola that simply are NOT true.

Case in point...filling the public venues with stories of Ebola possibly mutating and becoming airborne is scare tactics at best and only serves to spread misinformation as the fact remains that Ebola is spread only through direct contact with the bodily fluids...vomit, semen, sweat, or blood...of someone who is symptomatic and 'shedding' the virus...meaning you would need to get their bodily fluids into a cut on your body or into your mouth, nose, or eyes. Ebola is NOT...I repeat NOT...airborne as it would first have to mutate in nature before it could do so, and very rarely do viruses completely change the way they're transmitted. And there is NO scientific proof whatsoever that the virus has mutated in any way nor do the experts expect it to do so for Ebola is what's scientifically known as a 'whimpy' virus as well as having a low reproductive rate (meaning the amount of people one sick individual is capable of infecting).

Being a 'whimpy virus' means the Ebola virus does NOT live long outside its host organism...just for a few hours on surfaces (like doorknobs, counters, and such) because oxygen in the air kills the virus...and for a day or two at most in blood or vomit that is NOT cleaned up right away. And if it is immediately cleaned up water itself will kill the virus as does chlorine bleach like Clorox or even Lysol spray. So there is little risk of contracting Ebola in ways besides coming in direct contact by the means mentioned above. And remember, half who contract Ebola survive as do the family members of those infected as Ebola is NOT that easy to catch NO matter the media scare tactics to the contrary.

Now knowing all this it becomes quite easy to prevent an Ebola epidemic from ever reaching our shores...simply...NO one from the countries currently affected should be allowed entry into our country...period. That is NOT until this current epidemic burns itself out as has previous epidemics of Ebola over the years. Remember, viruses wax and wane as conditions feed it, and the conditions in West Africa are ripe for the virus to thrive. Ebola is a put it bluntly...of filth and unsanitary conditions and the countries it currently thrives in are some of the dirtiest most unsanitary countries on Earth. Some in these countries have NEVER taken a bath or shower in clean water or even brushed their teeth let alone know what toilet paper is. Their concept of cleanliness is diametrically opposite of ours and this mindset along with unsanitary practices allows Ebola...and other nasties...a constant replenishable supply of people to infect. When health care workers or their respective country's governments clean things up a bit Ebola wanes only to return as old unsanitary habits resurface.

And I do NOT want to hear that my above remarks are racist in nature because those infected are for the most part African blacks for Ebola has NOTHING to do with race but everything to do with how people in that part of the world live. Ebola does NOT thrive or run rampant in Europe because of Europe's high level of sanitary conditions and personal cleanliness both of which are NOT conducive for the virus' survival. The same goes for the U.S. and other western countries. And the old saying, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" surely rings true in the case of Ebola.

Now none of this means that we should become lackadaisical in our attitude towards Ebola...we shouldn't as it does have a high mortality rate, and while there is experimental treatments to combat the disease, for the most part right now palliative care is the only option to surviving Ebola. So, the only way to stay completely safe from Ebola is NOT to let Ebola come here...and that means NO air travel in and out of the countries affected and NOT letting residents of those countries come here...NOT for any reason whatsoever. And isn't it more than a bit odd that just a few years ago there were strict quarantine rules and regulations regarding Ebola and other deadly diseases, but that the Obama administration relaxed or altogether did away with them in 2010.

Again, as in the past, stealth jihad from the muslim in the White House comes to mind.

And so with Ebola having an incubation period of up to 21 days you NEVER know who from those countries might be harboring the virus and who is NOT. Case in point...a nurse in Barcelona, Spain, has now contracted Ebola after taking care of two who died...that were infected while in Africa and who came back to Spain and then got sick and infected her.

Realizing the danger because of the long incubation period both Air France and British Airways have temporarily suspended flights into West Africa. Also, many African nations have canceled flights and closed their borders to those from infected countries. And while these nations are acting proactively to protect the 'health, safety, and welfare' of their citizens, the Obama administration says it will NOT impose travel restrictions against those countries infected with Ebola but will add undisclosed "measures" to screen passengers arriving in the U.S. from overseas in an effort to contain the virus and prevent it from entering our country.

Feckless and ineffective measures put in place too late for the only way to prevent Ebola from ever gaining a foothold here is to temporarily stop all flights in and out of West Africa...period. And that means working with European nations to ensure that persons coming into their countries from the infected areas do NOT take connecting flights into ours. And this suspension of all flights must be done NO matter that Obama has said that he won't shut down flights from affected countries. Saying this would be "counterproductive" and would severely restrict aid flights into those countries, Obama is again spewing lies as medical supplies could be dropped into the areas needing them...this time with workable parachutes unlike the aid packages he dropped for the Ysidi stuck on a mountain in Iraq.

And while Obama thinks 'screenings' will be successful in stopping Ebola he forgets or looks away to the fact that people will try to fool...and some will succeed in fooling...the screeners by loading up on ibuprofen or aspirin to lower their temperature to make it appear as though they are uninfected when in fact they are.

So like all Obama's other failed policies this "measure" too will fail, and again it will be Americans on American soil who will die as his so-wanted 'culling of the herd' continues on..continues on as in can you say enterovirus...the little nasty that came in through our unsecured southern border... now that is something we do need to worry about.
