CNBC: Economic Optimism Is Through The Roof, And Trump Is Starting To Get Credit For It

CNBC conducted a survey before Christmas. Economic optimism is soaring. The network noted that for the first time in over a decade, more than half of the respondents said the economy was good or excellent. The results of this survey were released on December 18, four days before President Trump signed the most extensive tax reform into law in nearly 30 years. The good economic news has not been able to buoy Trump’s approval numbers, but this survey suggest that the president could be yielding some dividends on that front as well (via CNBC):

The CNBC All-American Economic Survey found that for the first time in at least 11 years, more than half of respondents to the survey rated the economy as good or excellent, while a near record 41 percent expected the economy to improve in the next year.

"We're not measuring a marginal change in the economy, we're measuring a different economy,'' said Public Opinion Strategies' Micah Roberts, the Republican pollster for the survey. The poll of 800 adults across the nation, with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, was conducted Dec. 10-13 by that firm and Democratic pollster Hart Research.

REVEALED: Facebook makes the wrong call on nearly HALF of posts reported as offensive

For months, Facebook has been censoring, scrubbing and banning posts deemed to be hate speech. And despite the claim in this article that “anti-Muslim rhetoric” was left up, in reality, it is quickly and efficiently scrubbed. I’m not talking about comments such as the ones quoted below, calling for mass murder and genocide — those are never acceptable under any circumstances, directed at any group, and should be removed.

No, Facebook acts swiftly to shadowban or block or flag as “hate speech” essentially all comments and users who dare violate the sharia. And it’s getting worse. Posts, links, comments critical of jihad and sharia violate Facebook’s sharia terms of service.

My feed has been blocked and banned. Facebook daily referrals were 90K plus back in February; today they are under 2k. My feed is blocked from my millions of followers on Facebook, and I have seen my circulation drop precipitously in the past few months. For news publishers, Facebook is the motherboard of link traffic. No news site can survive without them. None of us are immune, which is why my traffic is down upwards of 95% since the block. My Facebook page has well over a million followers; add my organizations to that, and it is roughly two million people.

UN Official Confirms Israel's Withdrawal from UNESCO Over Anti-Israel Bias, Expresses Regret

Israel announced in October that it was following the U.S.’s lead and withdrawing from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) over its anti-Israel bias. UNESCO confirmed Friday that Israel will be withdrawing effective December 2018 and expressed its regret over the decision.

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay confirmed that she had received official withdrawal notice from Israel’s government and expressed regret over the decision saying she felt that it “is inside UNESCO and not outside it” that States can best seek to overcome differences.

“A Member of UNESCO since 1949, Israel has a rightful place inside the United Nations agency that is dedicated to education, culture and science,” she said. “Inside an institution committed to the defence of freedom of expression, the prevention of all forms of antisemitism and racism, which has developed a unique programme of education about the Holocaust and the prevention of genocide.

Cuomo Pardons 18 Illegal Immigrants Facing Deportation

Gov. Andrew Cuomo pardoned 61 people on Wednesday, 18 of whom were immigrants facing deportation over their prior criminal charges.

The New York Democrat said his pardon, a direct rebuke of President Trump’s immigration enforcement, was related to their rehabilitation efforts since their convictions.

"These New Yorkers have proved their rehabilitation, in some cases for decades, but have been unable to gain legal status or fully reenter society due to the stigma of conviction," Cuomo said in a statement. "While the federal government continues to target immigrants and threatens to tear families apart with deportation, these actions take a critical step toward a more just, more fair and more compassionate New York."

According to Cuomo’s chief counsel Alphonso David, the pardons were directed toward those who committed low-level offenses.

“New York is a state of immigrants,” David told The New York Times. “And most of these individuals made mistakes decades ago, and have been contributing members to our society.”

Politico wrote about a few top media and political figures and how they dealt with being mentioned by President Trump on Twitter. For one Hillary Clinton supporter, liberal Democrat Alan Dershowitz says his family has seen better days. Dershowitz, a lawyer, is seen regularly on CNN, Fox News, and other outlets defending some of President Trump's decision, arguing there is no grounds for an obstruction of justice charge after he fired FBI Director James Comey earlier this year. While hoping that former Vice President Joe Biden challenges Trump in 2020, the liberal lawyer has said he’s lost several pounds this year, thanks to friends not inviting him to dinner anymore. He said his closest friends have told him that he’s 100 percent right in his arguments defending Trump's decision to fire Comey, but added that he should also shut the f**k up.

In all, Dershowitz says he’s merely defending the principles of the Constitution, not Trump—though that’s fallen on deaf ears from his liberal colleagues.

Dershowitz told the publication the hate mail he’s received centers on people accusing him of defending Trump because of Jerusalem, money, wanting to be on the Supreme Court, or yearning to be the president's lawyer. Dershowitz says all of the above is false. Besides already being successful, he’s 79-years-old, which pretty much counts him out for a SCOTUS nomination. He also has no interest in becoming Trump’s lawyer either (via Politico).

Surprise: MSM Ignoring Another Obama Scandal?

The media seems curiously uninterested in the latest Obama administration bombshell. This past week, Politico published a report that President Obama helped derail an investigation into a drug trafficking ring waged by Hezbollah in order to protect his nuclear deal with Iran. The effort, entitled Project Cassandra, began in 2008 following evidence from the Drug Enforcement Administration. Investigators went under cover to track the alleged drug and weapons trafficking but were slowed by White House officials who were dragging their feet. In their pursuit to ease tensions with Iran, the Obama administration "let Hezbollah off the hook."

Politico's reporting was both shocking and intriguing, but their contemporaries and mainstream broadcast networks have not exactly jumped on the story.

In the days since it was first published, the New York Times has treated it as a non-story. The Washington Post’s sole article on it consisted of a blog post, by one of its liberal opinion writers, devoted to quotes from Obama-administration alumni dismissing both Meyer and his sources as neoconservative propaganda without actually refuting any of the story’s main points. The broadcast channels and the liberal news channels have similarly avoided the scandal. (National Review)

At least 10 countries discussing embassy move to Jerusalem, says deputy foreign minister

At least 10 countries besides the US and Guatemala are considering recognizing Jerusalem as the Israel capital and possibly moving their embassies there, Deputy Minister Hotovely says.

Since Guatemala’s announcement Monday that it will follow the US and move its embassy to Jerusalem, at least 10 more countries are in talks with the Israelis about doing the same, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely told Israel Radio.

She declined to say which countries were involved, but “noted that several of the talks are just beginning, while others are further along,” Ha’aretz reported.

Israeli diplomats estimate that Honduras, which borders Guatemala, is likely to be one of the next countries to follow suit.

‘No less than the beginning of Israel’s victory’

Guatemala’s decision to return its embassy to Jerusalem is “no less than the beginning of Israel’s victory,” a leading  analyst and author told Tazpit Press Service (TPS) Monday, adding that it will likely set off a chain reaction, with countries in Latin America, Africa and even in Europe following suit in the coming months and years.

Dangerous Column: PAMELA GELLER’S YEAR IN REVIEW, Jihad in America

In each of the past few years, I have done an end-of-the-year summary on jihad activity and Islamization in the United States, so that people might better understand the overarching progress of the jihad in the U.S., and connect the dots.

After years of shouting into the wilderness, the message hit critical mass in November 2016, and Donald Trump, to the absolute shock of the totalitarian left elite, was elected President of the United States.

President Trump’s initiatives to stem jihad and sharia in America have been met with fierce resistance from the jihad-aligned left. Even just last Friday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals yet again struck down his travel ban, despite earlier versions of the ban having been approved by the Supreme Court. This one will be approved by the Supreme Court as well, but the left is doing all it can to obstruct and delay President Trump’s attempts to defend Americans from Islamic jihad attacks.

Let’s review the catastrophic consequences of Obama’s Islamic policies in the U.S., so as to remember what kind of game the 9th Circuit Court is playing. According to the Sinclair Broadcast Group, “FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress Thursday that the agency currently has about 1,000 active ISIS investigations in all 50 states. He claimed hundreds of attacks have been prevented and cited 176 domestic terror-related arrests in the last year.”

The news comes after more than 100 countries voted to condemn the U.S. for officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capitol city of Israel. More from Fox News:

Calling it “a big step in the right direction,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday night announced a historic reduction in the U.N. biennial operating budget.

Haley said the plan calls for a $285 million cut for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

“The inefficiency and overspending of the United Nations are well known,” Haley said. “We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked."

Why the Constitution is still the most important government document, but is always overlooked

The Constitution is something we all take for granted in a era where there are accusations about the Constitution that the Founding Fathers have built. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the key player in the AKP party of Turkey, and the current president of this regime, has just recently made a constitutional reform that will drastically change the way the country is governed. Turkey’s fundamental part of the constitution that maintains it as a secular republic is now hanging in the balance, coming under threat of Islamic nationalism.

This has a big effect on the minorities of Turkey, both Jews or Christians that live abroad or are of dual nationality. This means that those people of dual nationality are even more likely to value the ideals of American freedom of ideas and the separation of government and religion. However, the threat in Turkey is greatest for journalists who have had the highest amount of human rights based solely on the fact that they have an opinion which makes them an enemy of the state. According to a CPJ (Committee to Protect Journalists) special report by Elena Beiser for the second year in a row, the number of journalists who have been imprisoned for their work is high. One can’t help but see how superficial the a “social justice warrior” mentality comes off as being fake to those who actually have a real fear and safety for their life in a certain country, and now what it really is like to be in danger of your life for having an opinion.

Manchin: So, it Looks Like the Tax Bill I Voted Against Will -- Um -- Help A Lot of West Virginians

Of course it will, Joe.  More than 80 percent of Americans will get a tax cut next year under the new law, with nearly as many taxpayers enjoying relief through at least 2026 (and very likely beyond).  Of the plan's tiny handful of 'losers' (less than five percent), most are high-income earners living in high-tax states who itemize their deductions -- as opposed to taking the now-doubled standard deduction, as 70 percent of filers currently do (a number that will grow).  It...doesn't sound like many West Virginians fit that profile.  Manchin knew all of this, of course, but he voted with Chuck Schumer anyway, just as he's refused to help Republican Senators confirm a number of highly qualified judges nominated by President Trump.  Confronted with his tax reform vote on local radio, Manchin struggled to defend his decision:

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Wednesday struggled to explain his opposition to the Republican tax overhaul, conceding in a local radio interview that it contains “some good things” that could benefit his state. “There’s some good in this bill. I acknowledge that,” Manchin said, when West Virginia radio talk show host Hoppy Kercheval asked the senator why he opposed legislation that will benefit the “vast majority” of taxpayers and businesses in the state.
