Both leaders insisted that they meant it. But Hitler thought that after getting away with militarizing the Rhineland, annexing Austria and dismantling Czechoslovakia, the Allied appeasers were once again just bluffing.

England and France declared war two days after Hitler entered Poland.

Once hard-won deterrence is lost, it is almost impossible to restore credibility without terrible costs and danger.

Last week, Russian officials warned the Obama administration about the installation of a new anti-ballistic missile system in Romania and talked of a possible nuclear confrontation that would reduce the host country to "smoking ruins" and "neutralize" any American-sponsored missile system.

Such apocalyptic rhetoric follows months of Russian bullying of nearby neutral Sweden, harassment of U.S. ships and planes, warnings to NATO nations in Europe, and constant threats to the Baltic states and former Soviet republics.

The incident happened in "international airspace" on Tuesday as the U.S. maritime patrol reconnaissance aircraft carried out "a routine U.S. patrol" in the area.

“Initial reports characterized the incident as unsafe,” the U.S. military statement said.

The United States has accused Beijing of militarizing the South China Sea.

Obama is “prioritizing illegal immigrants over U.S. citizens for summer jobs.” It is an outrage.

We need to stop paying our taxes — en masse. I can’t be the only one who is sick and tired of funding Islamic terrorism, Muslim refugees, Islamic Jew-hatred, Iranian nukes, 93 million Americans on entitlements, anti-American leftists organizations, and so on……..

EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo suddenly disappeared from radar at 37,000 feet

EgyptAir Flight MS804 heading from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar with 66 people on board. The plane was flying at 37,000 feet when it disappeared shortly after entering Egyptian airspace. No distress calls came from the plane.

– Flight 804 left Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport at 11:09 p.m. local time and was supposed to land in Cairo at 3.15 a.m. Thursday. Both the departure and arrival cities are in the same time zone.

— It vanished 10 miles into Egyptian airspace, the airline said.

–The plane’s captain had 6,000 flying hours while the first officer had 4,000, Adel said.

–The Egyptian navy is conducting search and rescue operations in the area it vanished, CNN’s Ian Lee said from Cairo. Armed forces are searching the area 40 miles north of Egyptian coastline.

— There was no special cargo on the flight and no notification of any dangerous goods aboard, Adel said.

If it entered Egypt airspace and did not report in, that’s highly significant, CNN aviation analyst Mary Schiavo said. “Since they were 10 miles into Egypt airspace, they should have reported in. If anything had been going on they would have reported at that time,” she said.

UPDATE 1: Plane’s distress beacon has been picked up, indicating that the plane has crashed in the water. Witnesses in the area say they saw a large fire in the sky.
