Issa: IRS Targeting of Conservatives Directed by Washington

The IRS agents in Cincinnati who were involved in the targeting of conservative groups were "being directly ordered from Washington," Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Sunday.

Issa, who is heading the House investigation into the affair, accused the White House of lying about the involvement of IRS headquarter officials in the scandal.

He also called White House Press Secretary Jay Carney a "paid liar."

"The administration is still - their paid liar, their spokesperson, picture behind - he's (Carney) still making up things about what happens and calling this local rogue," Issa said on CNN's "State of the Union."

"The reason that Lois Lerner tried to take the Fifth [Amendment when called to testify before Congress] is not because there's a rogue in Cincinnati," Issa added. "It's because this is a problem that was coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters And we're getting to proving it.

"The administration is still trying to say there's a few rogue agents in Cincinnati, when in fact the indication is they were directly being ordered from Washington," he said.

Interviews of IRS workers from the Cincinnati office by House investigtors are providing evidence that the orders stemmed directly from Washington, Issa said. Though he stopped short of saying that President Obama was involved.

"My gut tells me that too many people knew that this wrongdoing was going on before the election, and at least by some sort of convenient benign neglect allowed it to go on through the election, allowed these groups, these conservative groups, these, if you will, not friends of the president to be disenfranchised through an election," Issa said. "Now, I'm not making any allegations as to motive, that they set out to do it. But certainly, people knew it was happening."

The public and the agency itself needs to be reminded that "we're watching," said Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, referring to lawmakers.

Issa said that one IRS agent was so uncomfortable with forcing conservative groups to jump through extra hoops that the agent requested a transfer.

But that agent should have become a whistleblower, and it was his committee's aim to change the culture of the tax-collecting agency where a whistleblower does comes forward, Issa said.

"These folks cannot get a pass by saying, 'I was ordered to do it.' Because ethically, they clearly knew this was wrong; they should have become whistleblowers," Issa said. "They should have done something on behalf of the American people … If the IG had been told, 'I'm being ordered to do this,' this investigation might have ended very differently."

Too many people were aware of the targeting before the election, Issa said, "and at least by some sort of convenient, benign neglect" allowed some "not-friends-of-the-president to be disenfranchised through an election."

Issa said people certainly knew that the targeting was happening. "They could have done something, and would have done something, I'm sure, if these had been progressive groups or groups that supported the president."

Issa denied trying to tie the wrongdoing at the IRS directly to the president. "What we've tried to do," he said, "is to get the kinds of transparency we were promised, which we're not getting."

In a separate controversy, Issa was asked whether Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath in the targeting of Fox News reporter James Rosen.

"He certainly could have been more candid if he remembered. And he should have remembered," Issa said.

It would be kind to say that Holder misled Congress when he said he had never been personally involved in prosecuting the journalist who received a leak of classified material, Issa said.

"It would be less kind and more accurate to say that would rise to be a lie by most people's standards."

But should Holder resign?

"That's up to the president," Issa said.

'Big mistake' for Israel to downplay missiles to Syria

Bolton warns S300 is 'game-changing' system

It is a “big mistake” for Israel to minimize the delivery by Russia of the S300 antiaircraft system to the regime of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria, charged former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton in a radio interview today.

“I think that it is important to understand that if and when the S300s do arrive, both radars and missiles, and are put in competent hands, that this really is a game changer,” said Bolton.

“I think it’s a big mistake for the Israeli leadership, the political class, to say that the S300s are not a problem,” he said.

Bolton was speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s WABC Radio.

The diplomat warned the S300 is a “very sophisticated air-defense system … it has been successful against everything other than stealth aircraft in the past.”

Bolton said if Syria receives the system, there is a risk the missiles could be transferred to Iran or to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon.

Continued Bolton: “So when this deployment comes, whenever that turns out to be, and the Russians have made completely clear they intend to go ahead with it, completely clear, this is a very substantial increase in air-defense capabilities.”

Last week Israel’s Haaretz newspaper quoted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s National Security Adviser, Yaakov Amidror, as warning European diplomats that Israel would “prevent the S-300 missiles from becoming operational.”

Amid claims the S300 may have already been delivered to Assad, a former Israeli official last week tried to minimize the Russian system. Former Israeli defense minister Moshe Arens said that if the S300 were transferred “our Air Force can deal with them.”

“This wouldn’t be good publicity for a product that is their export product,” Arens said.  “They are selling this product to many countries and it won’t help their export.”

S300 missile batteries are able to intercept manned aircraft and guided missiles.

Last week, Russia confirmed plans to sell the surface-to-air defense missile systems to Assad’s regime.

The Wall Street Journal reported Syria has been making payments on a 2010 agreement with Russia to purchase four batteries for $900 million, with delivery expected within three months.

The Journal reported the S300 package included six launchers and 144 operational missiles, each with a range of up to 200 miles.

Al-Qaeda top dog: Boston jihad bombings show U.S.'s fragile security, Muslims in U.S. should carry out more bombings

From Jihad Watch / Posted by Robert Spencer

"While they are in their enemy's den." Qassim al Rimi obviously thinks that Islam is at war with the U.S. He must be a greasy Islamophobe. "Boston Bombings: Al Qaeda Chief In New Warning," from Sky News, June 2 (thanks to Kenneth):
Al Qaeda's affiliate in Yemen has said the Boston blasts revealed America's fragile security and showed making bombs was within "everyone's reach".
Qassim al Rimi, the military chief of the group, urged Muslims in America to "carry on with this way" and defend their religion in an audio message posted online.
In "A letter to the American people", he said: "The Boston events ... and the poisoned letters (sent to the White House), regardless of who is behind them, show that your security is no longer under control, and that attacks on you have taken off and cannot be stopped.
"Everyday you will be hit by the unexpected and your leaders will not be able to defend you."...
Al Rimi also said the killing of Al Qaeda's founder Osama bin Laden in May 2011 and top Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in September 2011, had not ended the struggle.
"Have you eliminated the jihadist groups that have spread everywhere after they had only been in Afghanistan? Today, they are in your land or close to it," he warned.
To the Muslims in the US, he said: "We encourage you to carry on with this way, be steadfast in your religion.
"Carry out your obligations, defend your religion and follow in the footsteps of those who supported their religion and Ummah (Muslim nation) while they are in their enemy's den."...

The Revolution Goes On…

The Revolution Goes On…
The body of a nation dies when it gets so congested that it can’t live. It seems that a full measure of corruption must implode a nation before it can begin anew.

Revolution takes time. It’s a gradualism that the population is oblivious to. Most people cannot imagine that the United States is in a state of economic and social collapse, even though the signs and indicators are everywhere.

Where and what is the rot in America? It’s the consistent ongoing devaluation of the U.S. dollar by the U.S. government. This is economic warfare against the American middle class and all producers of wealth and savings. If this were the work of a foreign enemy, all-out military mobilization would be a full national effort.

Devaluation of the currency is a concept of subtle theft. It is stealth transfer of wealth without violent conflict.

The elite moneychangers can take money (purchasing power) right out of your pocket simply by printing new money. New money dilutes old money toward worthlessness. New money in circulation, either digital or printed, is evidence of government theft.

Can anyone imagine how much theft and impoverishment is going on with the trillions of dollars’ worth of new money created under the aegis of quantitative easing? The bank robbers of old were at high risk. Now, it’s the banks and the government that are robbing the people with no risk at all. All the robbing is done with the printing press.

Thanks to Ben Bernanke’s shenanigans, stocks are up and housing prices are up, but so is the price of food and energy. But rising stock and housing prices are good, right? Not in the current climate, because it’s a false hope built on piles newly printed “dollars.” It’s cheap money, but it is an expensive proposition. It’s a bubble of titanic proportions, and its collapse will make the bubbles of the past pale in comparison.

There is a flood of money that is being pushed downstream. As Zerohedge writes, we are in uncharted territory that cannot go on forever.
The creation of money by the Fed, the ECB (European Central Bank) and Japan’s central bank keeps raising the tide but like all tides when it reverses course if will flow back out from the high water mark which has been created and with an equal force.
The reversal will come from an event or from the moment that the central banks reverse position or from the fall in the demand for goods and services as consumers/investors have less money to buy things.
The elite behind the scenes count on the ignorance of the American people, who have been dumbed down with drugs, tobacco, alcohol, debauchery, national sports craze, instant gratification, debt and no rule of law. There is no hope for them unless something wakes them up!

And now, my friends, the government and the bankers have destroyed the ability of seniors in America to live off their life savings. The U.S. government and the banker elite have killed any hope of our seniors getting a decent rate of interest for the next three years on savings accounts.

Now if the suppression of the price of silver is broken and silver breaks out into a strong uptrend, which it is going to do, watch the buying power of the middle class drop into the toilet as the cost of the essentials of life skyrocket.

So the government elite and their symbiotic partners in crime, the bankers, are not satisfied with impoverishing America by debauching the currency, they deny seniors their old age income by suppression of interest rates in favor of the bond holders who hold government “debt.”

What Do I Expect?

Members of the American middle class have lost their interest income. They are starved for income, so here is what I foresee: I believe that money will continue to flow into the stock market for several reasons:
  • The American public is abandoning bank accounts and money market funds in search of higher stock dividends.
  • Corporate buybacks and mergers.
  • Foreign investors buying U.S. stocks.
  • Money from bondholders where yield interest income is very low.
  • When and if the stock market skyrockets, the public will not be able to resist and will “jump in.”
  • The public will see the glitter of capital gains, that is, stocks increasing in nominal value. Remember that Americans are focused on nominal (day-to-day) dollar value. They don’t understand real value like U.S. constant dollars from the 1960s and silver and gold.
  • The stock market has the potential to explode from “short covering.” As the market is now overvalued, many investors will short the market expecting a crash. But investors don’t see the new paradigm outlined above; and when and if the stock prices go up (instead of a big correction, as appears imminent), most investors will stay on the sidelines.
  • The Cyprus event. This foretells a worldwide bank run! The new paradigm is that bank depositors are considered lenders (not depositors), whereby a percentage of their deposits will be taken in exchange for worthless bank shares. This is the same scheme planned for retirement funds being exchanged for worthless U.S. bonds. Up to now, bank and financial deposits have been guaranteed by Federal bailouts. This will scare cash out of banks into residential real estate and the stock market.
Conclusion: The stock market is now toppy in thin air. A crash is expected! But remember that the stock market is independent of hard times or world calamity, wars, etc. It can still go up or “climb a wall of worry.”

All of the above suggests to me that there will be an ocean of liquidity (cash) with nowhere to go except real estate and the stock market.

Also remember that the nice government psychopaths love the stock market in which they can feign prosperity and even heaven on Earth. But quietly and constantly, paper money is, and will be, losing purchasing value. Rising stocks makes the public look the other way.

What about gold stocks? They will rise, too.

My bet is that the Federal Reserve is hell-bent on destroying the U.S. dollar, so watch out. All of the millions in cash will be worthless!

We have to escape with farms and resources of real and lasting value before the end of the endgame.

Scandal or Storm: The Making of Obama’s Legacy

By: Dan Holler / Townhall Columnist
Democrats are practically pleading with President Obama to sharpen his message. After successfully raising taxes on every working American at the beginning of the year, the progressive movement has suffered one debilitating blow after another.

In March, many in the media laughed when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared conservatives were winning. But the rallying cry of collective action that rang throughout Obama’s second inaugural address now seems like more empty rhetoric, not an emerging reality.

Still buzzed from their victory over Mitt Romney, Team Obama held the misguided belief they could convince Americans (not collectivists to begin with) that they should join the team. Of course, whatever hope they had of changing the American people vanished as the IRS scandal grew.

Just last week, McClatchy reported the IRS audited a retired Army Lt. Col. after he began donating to and participating in conservative causes. As he explained it, “I am just a common citizen, who honorably served his nation for 23 years, who has not had this experience before and now honestly questions the actions and motivation of the IRS and how far they have gone in their actions.”

Bill Clinton’s former labor secretary Robert Reich cannot simply dismiss this as the “scandal du jour." Rather, it strikes at the very core of the Obama agenda.

For Americans to put their faith in the President’s government-centric solutions, they have to put their faith in government. They must also be comfortable with power inevitably vested in nameless, faceless bureaucrats as the leviathan grows.

Proponents of big-government are not stupid. They understand Americans are not comfortable with the necessary erosion of freedom that comes with the growth of government. They understand that nicer, more Orwellian ways exist to say those sorts of things.

To wit, last week in Asbury Park, New Jersey, President Obama made clear “part of the reason I came back, to let people know we’re going to keep on going until we finish.” To make sure the crowd understood, he said, “I promised you that your country would have your back. I told you we would not quit until the job was done, and I meant it. I meant it.”

There is absolutely no denying the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. But going back to the Jersey Shore provided Obama the opportunity to demonstrate how he was making their lives work. He wanted to show the American people the federal government could work for people, not just take their tax dollars and spend them on targeting conservatives.

This approach stands in stark contrast to the comments made by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) in the days after a massive tornado swept through Moore, Oklahoma:

“We have too much government now. What you have seen already in Oklahoma is a complete voluntary response. Almost $50 million has been raised and given for the cause down there. You have seen a tremendous neighbor-to-neighbor response. Less than 25 people had to spend the night in a shelter out of everybody that was displaced because neighbors are helping neighbors. Watch how we handle this. We will get by and rebuild.”

Some may be tempted to dismiss any comparison between the two events. Before doing so, consider the President’s words after touring the damage in Moore:

“And when we say that we’ve got your back, I promise you, we keep our word. If you talk to folks in Alabama who have been affected over the last couple of years; you talk to the folks at Joplin, who I know have actually sent volunteers down here to Moore; if you talk to folks in New Jersey and New York, they’ll tell you that when we say we’re going to be there until you completely rebuild, we mean it. And I want everybody to have that confidence.”

Obama’s legacy will be defined by how people perceive the role of government, perhaps more specifically the role of his government. We should ask ourselves if we want a government that has our backs every step of the way? Perhaps the more important question is, if so, are we willing to accept the inevitable consequences of a government large enough to do so?

I, for one, am not.

Killing the Dreams Soldiers Died to Preserve

Terry Paulson / Townhall Columnist

On Memorial Day, tears were shed as programs across the country honored and prayed for those men and women who sacrificed their dreams in order that we might live out our own. Some Americans who had lost a son or daughter, a spouse, or a parent never got to see their loved one reach their full potential. Those soldiers who died left their dreams in their graves.

Their loss is made even worse by an administration that is doing all it can to kill the dreams of Americans they fought to preserve. President Obama's plan for creating jobs takes more and more money from private citizens and companies so that his administration can hire more government workers and fund more government projects. This funds President Obama's dream, not yours.

Many complain that conservatives only want to protect "the rich." It's not the rich that conservatives need to protect. The truly wealthy will take care of themselves. They can move resources, relocate companies, and shelter income to avoid the worst machinations of Washington's tax policies.

Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary because he receives no salary. He doesn't need a salary. His extensive investments feed his lifestyle and fund his future investments. Government taxes investment income at a lower level to encourage savings and the capital investment all economies need.

President Obama's assault on the top 2% of wage owners is not a punishment on the truly wealthy; it's an assault on the "new rich." His taxes hit those successful entrepreneurs who invested in their own idea, worked hard, created jobs, and reaped the benefits of their success. Instead of being honored and rewarded, they watch as Washington takes more and more of their earned reward. At a time many would want to expand their companies, ObamaCare and increased government regulations have just increased their costs.

The gap between the average "rich" and "poor" American may have grown, but the "new rich" do not easily stay rich. In the 2007 Treasury Study--"Income Mobility in the US from 1996 to 2005," the biggest losses in income came not from the poor but from the wealthiest income earners. The top 1% of income earners in 1996 had their incomes halved by 2005. They were not getting ahead at the expense of others; many lost ground.

Those aspiring to reach their dream, the top 20% of wage earners watched their income increase a mere ten percent. Those Americans originally in the bottom 20 percent saw a 91 percent increase in income. This is missed in many statistics because such increases move people out of the lowest 20 percent. In short, there is no permanent underclass or overclass. People can still succeed, but President Obama is doing everything he can to punish those Americans who do!

He isn't punishing "old wealth”; he's punishing "new wealth." He doesn't bring down the wealthy; he keeps out those trying to become wealthy. Abraham Lincoln knew the value of preserving the American Dream: “I don’t believe in a law to prevent a man from getting rich; it would do more harm than good. So while we do not propose any war on capital, we do wish to allow the humblest man an equal chance to get rich with everybody else.”

Though often wrongly attributed to Abraham Lincoln, it was William John Henry Boetcker, an American religious leader and influential public speaker, who first penned "The Ten Cannots:" "You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help little men by tearing down big men. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence. And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves."

Lincoln and Boetcker understood what President Obama and his fellow class warriors just don’t understand. In a country that is built on personal achievement and free enterprise, there need be no war between capital and labor. When America is working its magic, capital and labor are the same people at different stages of their lives. Workers work to save, then to invest, and ultimately to become owners of capital themselves. They want opportunity not more government programs designed to keep them dependent.

Though we should never forget those who gave their lives that we might have the freedom to dream, may we do what we can to ensure that this and future generations can still profit from the dreams those soldiers died to preserve.
America sold out...again                                        By: Diane Sori
In defiance of the US Senate and thumbing his nose once again at the Constitution, today or within the next few days, Barack HUSSEIN Obama is expected to sign the ratification of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).
Although his ratification signature is only symbolic because the Senate voted this treaty down, those whose signatures appear on the treaty are still required to promote within their home countries the keeping of records on the recipients of imported arms and to introduce domestic legislation to support the treaty’s content...content which includes giving the president control over which guns do and do NOT come into this country. And while the ATT currently only deals with international arms trade between governments, opposition to signing from Second Amendment proponents was so strong that written into the final ATT text were words to the effect that 'no infringement will occur for recreational, cultural, historical, and lawful ownership'.
Like the U(seless) N(ations) will ever honor what the US wants added into any of their treaties so they figure why NOT just add in the words if it gets us to sign the treaty...which is exactly what they did...and exactly what we what amounts to nothing more than a step towards disarming the American people.
And when on April 2, 2013, the U(seless) N(ations) passed that treaty (added in placating language and all) in a vote of 153 to 4, guess who led the push for our signing and whose very signature appears on the dotted line...none other than Ms.'What does it matter' herself, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton...Hillary Clinton who apparently also thinks the Second Amendment be damned.
So in signing the treaty's ratification (symbolic or NOT) Obama is in-your-face overriding the Senate's recent NO vote against this treaty by citing Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution saying it gives him, as president, the "Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur” to do so.
While in a 53 to 46 vote the treaty failed to pass in the Senate, the numbers it failed by are being used by Obama to justify his ratifying the ATT treaty.  Deliberately misusing the wording of the two-thirds number the Constitution cites, Obama is trying to say that two-thirds of the Senate wanted the treaty, clearly ignoring the fact that the wording means the treaty had to pass by a vote of two-thirds for him to legally ratify it NOT having the treaty fail NO matter the numbers.
Bottom line, the ATT failed in the Senate, meaning it failed NO matter if it failed by one vote or many votes, and Obama has NO business ratifying it and he knows it.
Also, Obama is twisting and distorting our Founders intended meaning of the words 'to make treaties' as our Founders wrote those words to mean treaties made with a given county or countries NOT with an international organization, and as a 'supposed' Constitutional attorney Obama knows that damn well.  So basically, Barack HUSSEIN Obama is spitting the face of the Senate...dishonoring the Constitution (yet again)...and saying 'screw you' to the wishes of 'We the People'.
And by doing what amounts to a willful and deliberate throwing out of the Senate vote, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, in my opinion, is committing treason against the rules of law that is our US Constitution...treason by way of subterfuge and twisting the meaning of the words of the Constitution to suit his nefarious purposes.
Nefarious purposes that follow closely on the heels of his thankfully failed attempts to strengthen domestic gun control laws and to get his oh so wanted gun-control registry. Obama intends his presidential signature on the ATT to mask his all out effort to do away with 'We the People's' Constitutionally given Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, for by clearly siding with the U(seless) N(ations) effort to regulate international arms sales (which includes the sale of tanks, artillery, and small arms such as handguns), he is trying once again to take our guns away for Obama knows very well that our guns are the only thing that stands between 'We the People' and his administration NOT only running amok but an administration dangerously straddling Constitutional law in regards to treason for aiding and abetting the enemy.
So our guns...our firearms...our last line of defense against an administration hell bent on stripping away our freedoms rendering us impotent to rise up against those out to subjugate us to an existence of cow-towing to the media anointed savior of us all...are trying to be taken away from us as Obama and his minions use this U(seless) N(ations) treaty as his 'Plan B' to hopefully reach that goal.
And by signing the ratification of the ATT Barack HUSSEIN Obama sees his signature doing internationally what he couldn't do domestically...and if this wasn't so serious it might almost be laughable.
