...After all, while Vladimir Putin is indeed an ego-driven megalomaniac, he is not a madman in the classical sense nor is he driven by suicidal tendencies like other madmen before him. And why...because what Putin craves is tangible battlefield victories to counter his now faltering invasion of Ukraine as well as his wanting true superpower status returned to “Mother Russia” with him alone being recognized and lauded as her savior. But like most who foolishly envision themselves as both a warrior and a hero, Putin remains but a coward…a coward who not only uses nuclear blackmail to instill fear in those who were once fearless, but a man who would gladly sacrifice innocents in an attempt to snatch some modicum of victory out of what in the end will surely be his and Russia’s defeat…Read more here.

Iran protests: Supreme leader blames unrest on US and Israel

Iran’s supreme leader has blamed the US and Israel for the anti-government protests sweeping the country, in his first public comments on the unrest.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said “riots” had been “engineered” by Iran’s arch-enemies and their allies, and alleged that Qurans had been burned. He also called on security forces to be ready to deal with further unrest.

The protests – the biggest challenge to his rule for a decade – were sparked by the death in custody of a woman.

Mahsa Amini, 22, fell into a coma hours after being detained by morality police on 13 September in Tehran for allegedly breaking the strict law requiring women to cover their hair with a hijab, or headscarf. Joy Reid’s Attempt to Smear DeSantis As a Racist Backfires in a Spectacular Way

MSNBC host Joy Reid attempted to paint Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) as a racist when he warned any would-be looters to not steal from empty houses and businesses because Florida residents like to pack heat.

“I can tell you in the state of Florida, you never know what may be lurking behind somebody’s home. And I would not want to chance that if I were you given that we’re a Second Amendment state,”DeSantis said.  In response, Reid said DeSantis was talking about black people looting despite the fact DeSantis never mentioned race when he stated his warning.

Users on Twitter noted it was Reid who mentioned race when she was talking about looters.
