Senators ask Pence, Trump transition team, to hold troubled VA accountablePart 38 of 38 in the series Tomah VA Scandal

MADISON, Wis. – Two U.S. senators are urging Vice President-elect Mike Pence, head of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team, to hold the troubled Department of Veterans Affairs accountable for past failures.

In a letter to Pence, Sens. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, write that the growing allegations of mismanagement and wrongdoing at VA facilities nationwide are becoming more concerning.

“Whether it is unreasonable wait times at multiple facilities, the widespread overprescription of highly addictive opioids, veteran suicides, misconduct by VA management, or retaliation against whistleblowers, it is clear that not all veterans are receiving the high-quality care they deserve,” Johnson and Grassley wrote. “We are hopeful that under new leadership, the VA can embrace these principles to ensure that our nation’s veterans receive the care they deserve.”

Johnson is chairman of the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and Grassley is chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Republicans Will Repeal Many 'Midnight' Regulations Enacted By Obama

Republicans Will Repeal Many 'Midnight' Regulations Enacted By Obama
The president may be on vacation, but he still has several dozen agencies working away to enact as many new regulations as possible before the clock runs out. Experts are predicting close to 100 new regulations will be pushed by Obama before he leaves office.

This would be a strong finish for a big-government stalwart who has enacted an historical amount of regulations during his tenure. To put them into perspective, George W. Bush pushed through 462 major rules during his time… Obama has so far issued more than 600.

With his Democrat Party out of power on Capitol Hill, Obama has been forced to play offense in the only branch where he still wields influence – the executive. Most of the regulations deal with environmental issues, but his new rules also target labor, immigration, and a host of other things. The so called “midnight” regulations refer to new administrative rules enacted after Election Day.

Some of the new rules under consideration are expected to have an economic impact of around $100 million a year. The American Actions Forum estimates that the Obama regulations in total will cost the country about $44 billion.
Ban Ki-moon recognizes bias against Israel in last Security Council speech
NEW YORK – In his last address to the UN Security Council on Friday, outgoing Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon recognized that Israel is subject to strong bias in the international body, something that Israeli ambassadors to the UN, including Danny Danon today, have raised their voices about for years.

“Decades of political maneuverings have created a disproportionate volume of resolutions, reports and conferences criticizing Israel,” Ban said. “In many cases, rather than helping the Palestinian cause, this reality has hampered the ability of the UN to fulfill its role effectively.”

“The secretary-general admitted the clear truth, the UN’s hypocrisy towards Israel has broken records over the past decade,” Danon said in reaction to the statement.

“During this time the UN passed 223 resolutions condemning Israel while only eight resolutions condemning the Syrian regime as it has massacred its citizens over the past six years. This is absurd.

With a new secretary-general set to take office next month, we look forward to the possibility of a new era of fairness at the UN.”

Members of the electoral college under siege
By

electoral-collegeIn what can only be described as a pattern of left wing-fascism in America, members of America’s electoral college (an institution since the founding of this great nation) are under siege by Democrat goons and thugs.

These people need 24-hour police protection. Not that they’ll get it. The Obama administration is not going to protect them. They are part of the coup.

Here’s the thing about the left. They have no respect for the will of the people. They hold the people in utter contempt. They refuse to lose. These violent thumbsuckers scream, shout, stomp their feet and resort to violence to impose their statist, totalitarian agenda on the individual.

In last-shot bid, thousands urge electoral college to block Trump at Monday vote
By Robert Samuels, Washington Post, December 16, 2016:
Pressure on members of the electoral college to select someone other than Donald Trump has grown dramatically — and noisily — in recent weeks, causing some to waver but yielding little evidence that Trump will fall short when electors convene in most state capitals Monday to cast their votes.
Carole Joyce of Arizona expected her role as a GOP elector to be pretty simple: She would meet the others in Phoenix and carry out a vote for Trump, who won the most votes in her state and whom she personally supported.
But then came the mail and the emails and the phone calls — first hundreds, then thousands of voters worrying that Trump’s impulsive nature would lead the country into another war.
