Cruz Flies to Romney's Defense in Spat With Trump Over Mormonism

Image: Cruz Flies to Romney's Defense in Spat With Trump Over MormonismRepublican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, campaigning in Utah, called Donald Trump's attacks on Mitt Romney Mormon affiliation "sad" and "disgraceful.''

"It was sad yesterday to see Donald Trump stand up in Utah and call into question Mitt Romney's faith," the Texas senator told reporters on Saturday after a rally in Draper ahead of the state's Republican nominating contest on March 22.

"That has no place in politics; that is wrong. It's disgraceful to call into question the faith of another, and that is an attack that I think doesn't belong in Utah and it doesn't belong in politics," Cruz said.

Trump jabbed at Romney late on Friday at Salt Lake City’s Infinity Event Center, less than two miles from the world headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the city's Temple Square.

"I have many friends that live in Salt Lake," the Republican front-runner told the crowd. "By the way, Mitt Romney is not one of them."

"Are you sure he’s a Mormon?" Trump asked the crowd. "Are we sure?"

The swipe came hours after the former Massachusetts governor declared he would vote for Cruz in the Utah contest, and urged other Republicans to follow suit. "I will vote for Senator Cruz and I encourage others to do so as well, so that we can have an open convention and nominate a Republican," Romney wrote on Facebook on Friday afternoon.

Jordanian Parliament Bans Selling, Renting Property to Israelis

These are the “moderates.” Now remember that the “moderates” are, contrary to media myth, actually a small minority in a sea of “extremists” who want Israel destroyed and all the Jews massacred.

“Jordanian Parliament Bans Selling, Renting Property to Israelis,” by Ali Waked, Breitbart, March 17, 2016 (thanks to Christian):
JAFFA, Israel – Jordan’s parliament has banned selling or renting property in the Petra area to Israelis following a heated plenary debate.
Lawmakers defied calls to strike down the bill as unlawful because Israel doesn’t have a similar law and approved a regulation that allows the rental of property and land to people of all nationalities except Israel.

There Has to Be a Better Way to Pay for Health Care
Stephen Moore / Townhall Columnist

Late last year, while playing tennis, I reached up to serve and felt a painful pop in my shoulder. The inflammation got worse over the next few months. Now anytime I try to put my arm above my head, pain shoots up my arm. I often wake up at night with an agonizing throb in my shoulder.

So I finally and reluctantly went to the orthopedic surgeon; he said that I had a rotator cuff tear and I would probably need surgery. Ugh! He scheduled me for an MRI, but the day I was set to go, the hospital called to tell me my insurance company declined to pay for the scans. The insurance company, Cigna, tersely sent me a note: "You will need to complete six weeks of conservative treatment, such as physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medication. Once that has been completed and you have been re-evaluated, we can try to have the MRI re-authorized." Gee, thanks. You guys are the best.

I've been doing therapy for many months already, with not much improvement. The doctor explained that the insurance companies want to make sure that physicians aren't padding bills with unnecessary procedures. Incidentally, I've paid for health insurance for 30 years and have almost never used the medical care system. I calculate the insurers have made well over $100,000 off of me.

But I am lost inside the bureaucratic maze. They don't want to pay for the MRI because they don't want to have to reimburse for rotator cuff surgery. So their hope is that I will just go away. Studies show these delay tactics and bureaucratic runarounds work to reduce insurance payouts.
Bernie Sanders, everyone’s favorite socialist running for the American presidency, has been crisscrossing the country telling everyone that the disruption called Obamacare (or the ACA) is not good enough for America. What we need is the government taking over all of our health care system and providing health care for all. He says Medicare for all. Unfortunately, Sanders does not really confront the facts at hand so we will do it for him.

Mr. Sanders likes to point out that we are the only civilized country that does not have health care as a right for all. As you may have noticed, socialists like to always state whatever they want to give away is a “right” even though it never has been so before. Sanders is unhappy because there are still an estimated 30 million Americans without health insurance (watch that language because leftists like to confuse having health insurance with having health care). He applauds the accomplishments of Obamacare, but says it is not good enough.

What Obamacare did was completely distort the insurance market and the facts. Since 2010 many people have received health insurance because of two reasons. First, many people went back to work after the job losses in late 2008 and early 2009. They received health insurance with their jobs.

Second, an estimated 11.2 million Americans were added to the Medicaid rolls. That is the real increase in people covered by health insurance. The ACA could have added those people to the rolls without massive changes to the private insurance sector and threatening every American with fines unless they have health insurance. Even with those threats, 30 million Americans still have not signed up for Medicaid which speaks volumes of their respect for the ACA, Medicaid and the federal government.
Offshore oil pipelines (Photo: Twitter)Republicans are fuming after President Obama reversed his position on offshore oil and gas exploration and will now refuse to allow the sale of leases to energy companies to work off the Atlantic coast from Florida to Virginia.

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, is a member of the House Natural Resources Committee. He told WND and Radio America this is par for the course with President Obama.

“Once again, he has shown that it is the exception when he keeps his word, rather than the rule,” said Gohmert, who offered examples of a longstanding pattern of broken Obama promises. “If you like your insurance, you can keep it. If you like your doctor, you can keep it. For me, marriage is between a man and a woman.'”

Gohmert also cited a famous movie to scold anyone who thought Obama would keep his word on allowing offshore drilling.

“I’m constantly reminded of that scene in ‘Animal House,’ where the older fraternity brother puts his arm around Flounder after they’ve just demolished his brother’s car. He basically says, ‘Hey, you messed up. You trusted us,'” Gohmert said.

“President Obama has just good-naturedly said, ‘Oh, you actually thought I was going to keep that promise and let you drill out there because that would make us energy independent. You fools. Don’t you realize I just gave Iran a hundred billion dollars? Do you think I’m really going to be serious about becoming energy independent?'”

Sen. David Vitter, R-La, is the former chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. He said the administration is deliberately trying to deny revenue to the states.
