Presidential Greatness is Born

He started by extending an “open hand” to Democrats as he spoke of a “New American Moment”...he finished to chants of “U.S.A., U.S.A.”...and yet the Democrats remained silent and seated save for one...one brave Democrat who now faces the ire of his party...a party whose actions...or should I say whose inactions...were on full display for all the world to see at President Trump's first official 'State of the Union' Address...an address where he so truthfully stated that there's “never been a better time to start living the American dream.”

No better time especially after the eight long dark and shameful years of Barack HUSSEIN Obama where the very word 'American' became something to be ashamed of...but no more. America is back...'We the People' are back...and we are being led by a lion unafraid to roar.

And roar America's 45th president did as President Donald J. Trump took to the podium and stood strong on his demands for border security and immigration reform as he spoke of his economic accomplishments and the return of American exceptionalism while at the same time speaking of this being a critical time with the political divide over immigration still holding up essential government funding. And while calling for both Democrats and Republicans to put politics aside and "get the job done," the silence from the left was deafening while Republicans stood and applauded 111 times as they nodded in agreement with Trump's words said.

And a deafening silence was heard even while our president spoke of everyday American heroes. “We have seen the beauty of America’s soul and the steel in America’s spine. Each test has forged new American heroes to remind us who we are and show us what we can be,” President Trump said as he first spoke of Rep. Steve Scalise, shot during practice for a Congressional bipartisan baseball game and how he survived to become “the legend from Louisiana” due to the actions of capitol and Alexandria police officers, and the doctors, nurses, and paramedics who saved not only his life but many other lives on what should have been a day when both sides of the aisle could come together and "play nice together" without partisan bickering or accusations.

“No people on Earth are so fearless or daring or determined as Americans. If there is a mountain, we climb it. If there is a frontier, we cross it. If there is a challenge, we tame it. If there is an opportunity, we seize it…the state of our union is strong, because our people are strong.”

And with those inspiring words, President Trump spoke of the many volunteers of the 'Cajun Navy' who “raced to save people” in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey; how Coast Guard Petty Officer Ashlee Leppert saved 40 lives also during Hurricane Harvey; how strangers shielded other strangers from “the hail of gunfire on the Las Vegas strip;” and how firefighter David Dahlberg, “faced down walls of flame to rescue almost 60 children trapped at a California summer camp, threatened by those devastating wildfires.”

And the Democrats sat stoic and unmoved.

Unmoved still when President Trump proudly spoke of and introduced Preston Sharp, the 12-year-old boy from California who started a movement that has now seen 40,000 flags being placed at the graves of U.S. veterans; and when he introduced Police Officer Ryan Holets and his wife Rebecca who adopted a baby girl from a drug addicted pregnant, homeless woman. Saying the Holets “embody the goodness of our nation,” saw many eyes watering up but those eyes appeared to came from the Republican side of the aisle alone.

Sadly, even when President Trump honored Staff Sergeant Justin Peck, who when in November 2017 was part of a team conducting a multi-day mission with partner forces in Raqqa...a mission to dismantle still-active IEDs...was directly responsible for saving the life of severely injured fellow officer Kenton Stacy, saw Democrats folded their hands in their laps and hanging their heads low.

And one would think that when our president honored the families of the two teenage girls brutally murdered by illegal alien members of the infamous Hispanic MS-13 gang saying that, “Tonight, I am calling on Congress to finally close the deadly loopholes that have allowed MS-13, and other criminal gangs, to break into our country”...and when he spoke of Otto Warnbier, the college student who was basically tortured to death by Kim Jung-un's regime over a poster...that one would see some emotion from the Democrat side of the aisle...but sadly we did not. 
 

That is except for the same lone Democrat...Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia...who stood once again and applauded this time when President Trump took a moment to speak of North Korean escapee Ji Seong-ho...the young man who lost his legs to a train after passing out on its tracks while trying to steal food. Traveling thousands of miles on crutches across China and Southeast Asia to freedom, Trump said that "Seong-ho's story is a testament to the yearning of every human soul to live in freedom." and how right he is.

And so it went with the Democrats who even refused to clap let alone stand when President Trump spoke of this year's glowing economic achievements...as in job creation (to a tune of 2.4 million new jobs, including 200,000 new jobs in manufacturing alone), higher wages, bonuses for employees, tax cuts, moving past what he called “decades of unfair trade deals,” and the stock market soaring to new highs. And when he added fighting the opioid epidemic, lowering prescription drug costs, repairing our much needed out-of-date infrastructure (repairing it to a tune of $1.5 trillion), and to Jerusalem being the undivided capital of the Jewish State of Israel...the Democrats again sat stone-faced and coldly silent.

But truly shocking was when President Trump specifically made reference to overall unemployment claims hitting a 45-year low; how African-American unemployment rates stand at their lowest number ever recorded; and how Hispanic-American unemployment rates also reached their lowest levels...yet the Democrats appeared to be looking away as Trump spoke. Even the Congressional Black Caucus members present sat with a collective ugly look of disgust on their faces that showed them for the true racists and Trump-haters they are.

“My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans, to protect their safety, their families, their communities, and their right to the American Dream. Because Americans are dreamers, too.” 
 

Yes 'We the People' are.

And with immigration being the hot button issue de jour... what with the Democrats holding up the budget being passed as they place the needs and wants of DREAMers above the needs and wants of American citizens for votes of course...and with securing the border along with Trump's call for merit-based immigration...we saw that too being met with scowling faces no matter that Trump announced a 'pathway for citizenship' for DREAMers...a true concession one would think would make the Democrats happy but obviously did not.

America...the very word our president spoke over 80 times with a look of pride and honor in her each and every time he uttered our country's name...it is not only sad but heartbreaking that when President Trump spoke of the American flag, the national anthem, our military, the defense and modernizing of our nuclear arsenal, North Korea, and the “diminishing of ISIS”...and when he announced his signing of an executive order reversing Obama's decision to close Guantanamo Bay Prison (GITMO) saying that, "I just signed an order directing Secretary Mattis to reexamine our military detention policy and to keep open the detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay"...you could cut the Democrat's all-encompassing hate and disdain for both our president and our country with a knife. 
 

Again, save for Senator Joe Manchin that is who had stood and applauded many times. 

"Tonight, I am extending an open hand to work with members of both parties -- Democrats and Republicans -- to protect our citizens of every background, color, religion, and creed."

To protect us all is a daunting job indeed especially when President Trump has to deal with the same people who “booed God” at the Democratic National Convention, and who noticeably averted their eyes when our president stated that, "As long as we are proud of who we are, and what we are fighting for, there is nothing we cannot achieve. As long as we have confidence in our values, faith in our citizens, and trust in our God, we will not fail. Our families will thrive."

And we do it proudly knowingly “the new tide of optimism was already sweeping across our land”...we do it proudly knowing that “the state off our union is strong because our people are strong”...and we do it proudly because we know President Trump's words that, "We all share the same home, the same heart, the same destiny, and the same great American flag" and that "Together, we are rediscovering the American way," to be true.

Yes Mr. President we know these words to be true...at least we Republicans and Conservatives do...and we know so as much as we know that on Tuesday night last true presidential greatness was born.

State of the Union: Trump extends ‘open hand’ to Dems, but is met with glum stares, scant applause

President Trump appealed for unity in his first State of the Union speech, declaring a "new American moment" even as many glum Democrats in the audience sat on their hands and refused to acknowledge economic gains or calls to honor veterans.

While Trump held firm on his demands for border security and used the grand setting to tout his first-year accomplishments, his call for bipartisanship on the thorny immigration debate met with stonefaced stares from top Democrats such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

"Tonight, I am extending an open hand to work with members of both parties -- Democrats and Republicans -- to protect our citizens of every background, color, religion and creed," he said.

It remains unclear whether Democrats are ready to deal on immigration, but the issue could hang over a looming Feb. 8 deadline to pass a new spending bill. With that in mind, Trump used his 80-minute speech to signal a willingness to make bipartisan deals on second-year-agenda priorities like immigration as well as infrastructure.

Right Before SOTU, Trump Puts an End to Obama’s Dream of Closing GITMO

Just minutes before entering the House chamber for his first State of the Union address to the nation, President Trump signed an executive order reversing President Obama's decision to close Guantanamo Bay Prison.

"Terrorists who do things like place bombs in civilian hospitals are evil. When possible, we annihilate them. When necessary, we must be able to detain and question them.  But we must be clear: Terrorists are not merely criminals. They are unlawful enemy combatants.  And when captured overseas, they should be treated like the terrorists they are," Trump said. "In the past, we have foolishly released hundreds of dangerous terrorists, only to meet them again on the battlefield -- including the ISIS leader, al-Baghdadi."

"I just signed an order directing Secretary Mattis to reexamine our military detention policy and to keep open the detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay," he continued.

Secretary Mattis was in attendance at the speech and sat in the front row with the rest of the President's cabinet.

President Obama signed an executive order on January 22, 2009 to close the prison, but didn't fully accomplish the goal before leaving office in 2016.

Trump also discussed the ongoing war in Afghanistan and the change in rules of engagement from the previous administration.

"Our warriors in Afghanistan also have new rules of engagement," Trump said. "Along with their heroic Afghan partners, our military is no longer undermined by artificial timelines, and we no longer tell our enemies our plans."

In order to address the absolute corruption and weaponizing of the FBI and DOJ under President Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrat party of treason, let us review the illegal machinations we have suffered the past year. Imagine if the Republicans, upon the election of Barack Hussein Obama, did this? Excerpting great American mind, the singular Victor Davis Hanson:

• A nonstop effort by the opposition to use the courts, the legislative branch, the investigatory agencies, and the administrative state to discredit, undermine, and remove an elected government. In modern terms, that might entail opponents suing to challenge the legitimacy of the election, perhaps by charging in court that according to “experts,” voting machines were dysfunctional and thus some state tallies were null and void.
• Subvert the Constitution by pressuring state electors not to honor their constitutionally defined responsibilities to vote in accordance with the popular vote in their respective states. It might also include an effort to introduce articles of impeachment in the House.
• Sue under the 25th Amendment to find the president non compos mentis, accompanied by a popular campaign to clinically diagnose the president as mentally unfit or physically decrepit.
• Use the courts to seek the removal of an elected president on grounds he was a rank profiteer and had violated the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution

'Pink Slip' Them for a Job Not Done

Tonight President Trump will speak to Congress and the American people in his first official 'State of the Union Address.' The Address will include the usual budget message and economic report, and will see President Trump outlining his legislative agenda... including immigration reform...and will set national priorities.

And all members of Congress whether they be Democrat or Republican are expected to be there, after all it is part of the job we elected them to do. But sadly, the usual crew of Democrat miscreants have said they will NOT attend and that some who do will be dressed in black to send a message.

Well I have my own message for them...if you do NOT do the job you were elected to do then tomorrow morning there should be a 'pink slip' on your desk...as in you're fired for a job NOT done.

FBI's No. 2 official McCabe, blasted by Trump, steps down

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, criticized by President Donald Trump and other Republicans for alleged bias against him and in favor of his 2016 Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, has stepped down, U.S. officials confirmed on Monday.

McCabe, who served as acting Federal Bureau of Investigation chief for more than two months last year after Trump fired Director James Comey, had been expected to leave his post as the No. 2 FBI official in March.

The FBI said on Monday that David Bowdich, the No. 3 FBI official, would take over as acting deputy director.

It did not comment on the circumstances surrounding McCabe’s departure.9

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, asked about McCabe’s departure, told reporters: “I can tell you the president wasn’t part of this decision-making process.” Sanders said Trump continued to have “full confidence” in FBI Director Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump to replace Comey.

McCabe had intended to stay on the job for about six more weeks when he becomes eligible for retirement, but decided to leave earlier rather than be transferred to a lower-ranking post, according to a former senior FBI official familiar with the matter.

Shove It, DOJ: House Intel Committee Votes To Approve Release Of Damning FISA Memo

Earlier tonight, the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release the damning four-page memo that alleges egregious FISA violations. Some lawmakers said there were similarities to the Soviet KGB, while others said that there could be deep changes coming to the Department of Justice and the FBI as a result. Well, that’s already happened; Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe has been forced out of his position, though he will remain on the payroll until March—his projected retirement. It’s a “terminal leave.” 

The Department of Justice warned House Republicans that releasing the memo without them reviewing it first would be reckless, possibly detrimental to national security. Yeah, is that why parts of it were leaked to The New York Times after FBI Director Chris Wray reviewed it over the weekend? That was the real kicker to this saga regarding the FBI: this memo was reckless to release, but we’ll leak portions of it. A vote on the release of the memo was expected to occur some time today (via NYT):

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, apparently disregarding Justice Department warnings that their actions would be “extraordinarily reckless,” voted Monday evening to release a contentious secret memorandum said to accuse the department and the F.B.I. of misusing their authority to obtain a secret surveillance order on a former Trump campaign associate.

The vote threw fuel on an already fiery partisan conflict over the investigations into Russia’s brazen meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Republicans invoked a power never before used by the secretive committee to effectively declassify the memo that they had compiled. Democrats called the three-and-a half-page document a dangerous effort to build a narrative to undercut the department’s ongoing Russia investigation, using cherry-picked facts assembled with little or no context.
