“National Security Strategy based on Obfuscation, Denial, and Lies”
In full disclosure, let me state that I am a newly elected board member of the National Rifle Association and I own two AR-15 semi-automatic rifles.

With that being said, one week after the largest mass shooting and second largest Islamic terrorist attack in U.S. history, I am deeply disturbed at how our nation, namely political officials, are responding. It is as if the theme is, “we have met the enemy and decided to deny their existence.” We are turning ourselves in knots as we watch the mantra of one Rahm Emanuel evidence itself yet again, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” It never ceases to amaze me how those who have a blanket of armed protection provided to them seek to tell others how to defend themselves.

It is well known that the FBI has nearly 1000 Islamic terrorist investigations ongoing in the United States. And we know that the Islamic State has taken credit for the actions of Omar Mateen, for which he pledged his allegiance to ISIS and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. So the seminal question is this, if Mateen had gone on a rampage through the Pulse club with a sword, knife, machete, or hammers, where would the discussion be one week later? Would the progressive socialist left and their complicit media accomplices be articulating knife control? Or would we be wasting time in our U.S. Congress over insidious legislation that will have no effect on Islamic jihadist activities in America, western civilization?

I must ask, how many of these folks clamoring for bans on semi-automatic rifles, again, a violation of our second amendment rights, have ever read the Explanatory Memorandum of the Muslim Brotherhood? That document was written in 1991 by Mohammed Akram and was uncovered in an FBI raid in the basement of a home in northern Virginia. It concisely lays out the “stealth jihad” goals and objectives, it is an open source document completely translated into English. So why do our elected officials deny this existence of the enemy and obfuscate, pivoting away towards an ideological agenda item, when 49 Americans horrifically lost their lives?

WaPo: Democrats Serving Up Some Whoppers About GunsThe Democratic filibuster in the U.S. Senate this week ended with an agreement with Republicans to vote on two pro-gun control amendments relating to expanded background checks and keeping those on terror watch lists from buying guns. On June 15, Sen. Chris Murphy delayed a spending bill that would fund the Department of Justice over the legislative body’s inaction to do anything on gun violence. It lasted over 14 hours. Yet, Democrats made some whoppers on the Senate floor—and The Washington Post was there to hand down those Pinocchios:
“What we know is that in States that have imposed those reasonable limitations, there are less gun crimes. There are less homicides.” — Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), speaking on the Senate floor, June 15
The data used in the National Journal chart calculates the number of gun-related deaths per 100,000 people by including all gun deaths, including homicides, suicides, accidental gun deaths and legal intervention involving firearms. We removed suicides from the totals and reran the numbers — and in some cases, it made a huge difference. Half of the 10 states with the lowest gun-death rates turn out to be states with less-restrictive gun laws.
Moreover, the counting of gun laws is certainly open to interpretation, so that also affects the outcome. It’s not enough to count laws to figure out the reasons gun deaths are lower in one state than another. One would need to specifically determine whether certain laws had an effect, over time, on the gun-death rate in a state.
So, in this instance, Murphy’s claim is worthy of Three Pinocchios because he specifically referred to homicides, rather gun deaths.
Israeli General: Syria Resumes Weapons Production For Iran-Backed Terror Group Hezbollah

As war rages on in Syria, especially in the town of Aleppo, where the cease fire truce has little or no effect on peace in the region, industrial weapons are being built for the terror group Hezbollah.

Syria has resumed industrial production of weapons for Hezbollah, Major General (MG) Herzi Halevi, the head of Israeli Military Intelligence, said on June 15th.

Speaking at the annual Herzliya Conference, MG Halevi added that when combined with Iranian weapons trafficking to Hezbollah, the resumption of Syrian production could ignite another war, warning that Israelnor the rest of the world should accept it. It could escalate [into] the next conflict.”

He did not say what weapons Syria is producing for Hezbollah, but IHS Jane’s understands they include “guided rockets”, a possible reference to Syria’s Tishrin (also known as the M-600) version of the Iranian Fateh-110 tactical ballistic missile.  Iranian officials say the latest Fateh-110 versions have a range of 300 km.

The Israeli defense establishment is particularly concerned about the growing number of such weapons in Hezbollah’s possession as they could be used to carry out precision attacks against strategic targets deep inside Israeli territory.  MG Halevi also warned that “the dynamics of escalation” could lead to an unintended conflict.  He said,

NRA's LaPierre: Trump Wrong, Shouldn't Have Firearms in Bars

Image: NRA's LaPierre: Trump Wrong, Shouldn't Have Firearms in Bars National Rifle Association executive Wayne LaPierre on Sunday disputed Donald Trump's assertion that people in bars should be allowed to carry guns – and would have been able to fight back against ISIS-inspired mass slayer Omar Mateen.

In an interview Sunday on CBS News' "Face the Nation," the executive vice president and chief executive officer of the gun rights advocacy group warned "We need to face what's coming" from ISIS terrorists.

"They're not going to attack hard targets," he said. "They're going for vulnerabilities. they're going to go for shopping malls, they're going to go for churches. The fact is, we need vigilance, we need preparedness, we need a full court press on personal protection."

When pressed about Trump's advocacy of bar patrons being allowed to carry weapons, LaPierre disagreed.

"I don't think we should have firearms where people are drinking," he said. "But I'll tell you this, everybody needs … to start having a security plan. We need to be able to protect ourselves because they're coming."

Pamela Geller, Breitbart: Why Did Orlando Happen? A Massive Intel Failure.

Pamela Geller / Atlas Shrugs

Orlando jihadi Omar Mateen allegedly threatened to kill a Florida sheriff’s deputy and his family, yet the FBI did not act upon the threat once it had been reported by the sheriff’s office. And that’s but one in a long line of intel failures.
Pamela Geller: Why Did Orlando Happen? A Massive Intel Failure
By Breitbart News, June 17, 2016:
One year after the first U.S. ISIS attack — on our free speech event in Garland, Texas — an Islamic jihadist, Omar Mateen, succeeded in carrying out the largest terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.
About this massive intel failure, Obama’s FBI Director James Comey declared:  “I don’t think there’s anything we could’ve done differently.”
Nothing they could have done...
