Barely a Third of Democrat Congressional Candidates Support Obamacare

As we rapidly approach the one year anniversary of Obamacare's implementation and the horrendous launch of HealthCare.gov, a new report from the Brookings Institution shows that Democrat candidates for Congress aren't exactly embracing the law—in fact, most are avoiding it entirely.

We coded candidates as supporting the Affordable Care Act if they lauded the bill or its effects. We coded candidates advocating to repeal or fully replace the Affordable Care Act (also known as “Obamacare”) as opposing it. Candidates with “Complicated Positions” included those that forwarded moderated positions (i.e. the Act needs to be fixed or simply delayed), as well as those with positions outside the scope of the question (e.g. advocating for single-payer health care). Finally, if the candidate did not mention President Obama’s health reforms they were coded as “No Information.”

I think it's significantly interesting that approximately 79 percent of Republican candidates for Congress are discussing the law, as opposed to only roughly 63 percent of Democrats discussing President Obama's flagship piece of legislation.

While it's fairly obvious that many Republicans are opposed to Obamacare, I think it's more telling that a sizable chunk of Democrats are not even willing to discuss their feelings about it to avoid frightening voters. With public opinion polls showing that more than half of Americans are opposed to Obamacare, can you really blame them?

Political Pressure Finally Forces Obama To Act Against ISIS

WASHINGTON -- The two most critical rules of warfare are to never tell your enemy what you will not do, and never be seen as a reluctant, vacillating warrior.

Barack Obama has broken both of these rules over the course of his presidency in the war on terror. He told them at the outset when we'd be leaving, and now says under no circumstances will he put more "boots on the ground." I guess they're happy to hear that.

He came into office on a pledge to "end" the war in Iraq, and won re-election by not only boasting he had delivered on that promise, but also that we had defeated the al-Qaida terrorists. They were no longer the threat they had been, he said, and he would step up his withdrawal strategy in the region.

Throughout his 2012 campaign, he told voters that the terrorists had been "decimated," that we "had them on the run."

He went further in his policy of retreat: banning the term "war on terror" that had been the hallmark of our post 9/11 response, and telling the enemy precisely when we'd be leaving.

But no one told the terrorists the war was over. And as the administration went about pulling out of the region as fast as it could, al-Qaida spinoffs were metastasizing like a cancer across the Middle East -- more aggressive and more lethal than before.

While the White House was sleeping, or more likely, looking the other way, the reborn, rebuilt, rearmed and refinanced ISIS/ISIL forces were rolling unimpeded across Iraq -- in a blitzkrieg-style war, seizing territory, beheading U.S. hostages and staging mass executions in a trail of atrocities that led to the gates of Baghdad.

They took control of even more territory in Syria, where they were helped by a chaotic civil war, and now threaten Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and surrounding Arab countries.

When the growing terrorist war had reached its tipping point, the American people became alarmed, and voter polls of Obama's handling of international policy plunged.

Now he is hurriedly in the midst of changing policies in what critics say is a total flip-flop on the issue in the wake of his clumsy, all-too-rapid withdrawal strategy. Even when terrorists were mowing down helpless Syrian citizens, he stubbornly held to his position against going into Syria until last week.

To mention just a few of many available examples, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad once said: “Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.” Sheik Ali Al-Faqir, former Jordanian minister of religious endowment, said this on Al-Aqsa TV on May 2, 2008: “We proclaim that we will conquer Rome, like Constantinople was conquered once…” Hamas MP and Islamic cleric Yunis Al-Astal said this, also on Al-Aqsa TV, on April 11, 2008: “Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad.” Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most prominent and renowned imam in the world, in writing about “signs of the victory of Islam,” said: “Islam will return to Europe as a conqueror and victor.”

I guess the State Department thinks they were all just kidding.

(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration does not share Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s view that the forces of militant Islam, whether Sunni or Shi’ite, have in common an ultimate goal “to dominate the world,” a State Department spokeswoman said Monday.

In a hard-hitting speech at the United Nations, the Israeli leader said that entities such as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL), Hamas, the Iranian regime, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram share that eventual goal.

Jen Psaki was asked at the State Department daily briefing later whether the administration agreed with Netanyahu’s argument that those various groups “are all part of the same kind of militant Muslim – Islamic attempt to rule the world.”

“We would not agree with that characterization, no,” she replied.

Asked about Netanyahu’s specific correlation of ISIS and Hamas, Psaki said that while both were U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations, ISIS “poses a different threat to Western interests and to the United States. And that’s just a fact.”

“We don’t believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu or anyone else from Israel is suggesting that the United States launch a military campaign against Hamas, so we certainly – they are both designated terrorist organizations under the United States designations, but certainly we see differences in terms of the threat and otherwise.”

In his speech, Netanyahu said, “You know the famous American saying, ‘All politics is local.’ For the militant Islamists, ‘All politics is global.’ Because their ultimate goal is to dominate the world.”

Lawmaker urges DOJ to examine Oklahoma beheading as terror case

A House Republican called on outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the recent beheading in Oklahoma as a case of terrorism rather than workplace violence. But given the DOJ’s track record in ignoring select forms of religious extremism, along with some of Holder’s attempts to scorch the earth on his way out, a terror investigation is highly unlikely.

Representative Frank Wolf (R-Va.) said Tuesday Holder must launch a terror investigation into the gruesome murder, rather than allow the crime to be swept under the rug as just another killing at a place of employment.

Wolf likened the murder, in which recent Muslim convert Alton Nolen allegedly admitted to decapitating Colleen Hufford at the Vaughan Foods processing plant in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, last Thursday, to the sensational beheadings perpetrated by members of the ISIS terror group in Iraq and Syria.

According to The Hill, Wolf condemned the DOJ’s history of declining to link domestic terror incidents with global terror movements. From a letter Wolf sent to Holder:

In the wake of the department’s failure to “connect the dots” between Anwar Aulaqi and Fort Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan, it is more important than ever for you to make clear to the department’s agents and attorneys that this is, in fact, terrorism and to determine whether this or other plots are part of an effort by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or al Qaeda to radicalize Americans and direct attacks in the U.S.

But Holder’s recent tweaks to DOJ policy indicate there’s little chance that crimes motivated by evident religious zealotry on U.S. soil — even those that closely mimic the atrocities perpetrated by anti-U.S. terror groups abroad — will be approached as acts of domestic terror.

Holder reportedly will soon announce changes in the way federal investigators target suspects, banning law enforcement from scrutinizing potential suspects on the basis of their religious ties.

“The new policy will add to long-standing bans on racial profiling and extend them for the first time to national-security probes,” Fox News reported Tuesday. 

That, according to BizPac Review’s Joe Saunders, amounts to nothing less than “a parting shot of PC idiocy” on Holder’s part.

“Banning the use of religion in cases of national security investigations when you’re at war with a gang of religious fanatics  is like running a DUI checkpoint but trying not to smell booze — an act, put on for show and not accomplishing even a minimal goal,” wrote Saunders.

The new restrictions, which include a ban on investigating mosques in the absence of direct evidence that a crime has been committed, are to be announced in the coming weeks, according to Fox News.

Reports: ISIS Within a Mile of Baghdad

Islamic State militants are reportedly within a mile of Baghdad despite battling Iraqi forces and U.S.-led airstrikes, and there is "immense fear among everybody," the vicar of the only Anglican church in Iraq said Tuesday.

"We are at a crisis point," Canon Andrew White, vicar of St George's Church in Baghdad, told Sky News. "People know ISIS are coming nearer."

The Islamic State is also known as ISIS.

White's work is supported by the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, which said late Monday in a Facebook posting: "The Islamic State are now less than 2km away from entering Baghdad."

"They said it could never happen, and now it almost has. Obama says he overestimated what the Iraqi army could do," the posting said, referring to President Barack Obama.
"Well, you only need to be here a very short while to know they can do very very little," the posting said.

He told Sky News that the U.S.-led airstrikes against ISIS are doing little more than killing civilians.

"People are being killed by the attacks of the coalition," he said.

"This is horrendous," he said about the Islamic State's advance into Iraq's capital city. "We have civilians being killed, yet [the Islamic State] are moving toward Baghdad."

Renewed fighting has also occurred in such central Iraqi cities as Baquba and Ramadi, Sky News reports, as ISIS fighters appear to have advanced within 3 miles of Kobani, a critical border town in Syria, despite the airstrikes.

The reports come as the White House remains in damage-control mode after Obama told CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday that U.S. intelligence officials had underestimated the ISIS threat.

The suggestion angered congressional Republicans, leading Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, to charge that "this was not an intelligence community failure, but a failure by policymakers to confront the threat."

Obama had said:

"Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria." He was referring to James Clapper, director of national intelligence.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest sought to clarify Obama's remarks, noting that he was not blaming anyone as the U.S. sought global cooperation in the airstrikes that seek to weaken ISIS strongholds in Syria and Iraq.

"That is not what the president's intent was," Earnest said Tuesday. "What the president was trying to make clear" was "how difficult it is to predict the will of security forces that are based in another country to fight."

In his Sky News interview, White said of Baghdad: "I've never known the city like it is at the moment."

"Streets which are usually choc-a-bloc with traffic, cars and people are almost empty. People are too fearful to even leave their homes."

He said that his church most likely would be "very high up" on the Islamic State's target list and that "I must be at the top of the list."

White told Sky News that one Iraqi soldier told him that if he was confronted by ISIS he would "take off his uniform and run," and that he was in the army "because he needs the money."

"This, sadly, is the kind of attitude of so many of these forces who should be coming to our aid and help," he said.

According to The Daily Mail, airstrikes over the weekend appeared to have halted ISIS militants' advance at Ameriyat al-Falluja, a small city about 18 miles south of Fallujah and 40 miles west of Baghdad.

But most of the fighters were undaunted — and many are making their way to the suburbs of Baghdad, the Daily Mail reports.

In a Facebook posting earlier Monday, White said: "Over 1,000 Iraqi troops were killed by ISIS yesterday, things are so bad."

"All the military airstrikes are doing nothing," he added. "If ever we needed your prayers, it is now."

'Workplace Violence' It Is Not

As the media tries to divert us with a laughable doom and gloom scenario about the recent White House breach and how serious it 'could' have been...serious my eye as Obama and family were NOT even there...they are trying to bury the ramifications of a story that does indeed matter...a story about militant islam now on our shores and Netanyahu's wise words might now, sadly, be too late to heed.

Last week an innocent white Christian woman...Colleen Hufford, a 54-year old grandmother...was beheaded in Moore, Oklahoma, by black islam convert and ex-con Alton Alexander Nolen who now goes by the name of Jah’Keem Yisrael.

Evoking the usual cries of allahu akbar and other such nonsense as he repeatedly stabbed and then beheaded this woman, this act reeks of terrorism...of jihad...jihad now coming to life in America's heartland. But what does both the FBI and Oklahoma police deem this horrific act to be...random 'workplace violence' and NOTHING more...as if beheadings are the hallmark of disgruntled employees...as if beheadings are just a 'routine' happening here in America.

But this ruling is what we expected would happen. And those who made this so-wrong call don't even realize...or maybe they do...that they are now helping to advance radical islam here in our country.

With their previous failing to call Fort Hood murderer Nidal Hassan's act of terrorism what it truly was, the FBI and local police have now failed yet again for they chose instead the cowards way out...perhaps because Nolen is black...perhaps because of flashbacks of Treyvon Martin and Ferguson's aftermath still remaining fresh in the public's eye...just saying.

And so as islam continues its encroachment upon our homeland, 'workplace violence' it is.

'Workplace violence' even though senior ISIS spokesman Abu Muhamad ad-Adnani called Fort Hood and now this “lone wolf attacks done inside the U.S.,” Nolen will be charged with basically what amounts to the 'crime' of first-degree murder and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. But now some are saying that down the road federal charges might be added...federal hate crime charges...but still NOT charges of terrorism.

Got to protect the brethren you know.

But there is NO way that this act of beheading was 'workplace violence' as this was an unmistakable act of terrorism having all the hallmarks that prove it so. Hallmarks beyond Nolen's shouting islamic phrases as he went on his rampage knife in hand...hallmarks which include Nolen being introduced to islam while in prison... hallmarks including Nolen's facebook page in the months leading up to his horrific act showing post after post of beheadings and praise for the likes of Osama bin-Laden and his ilk...hallmarks including post after post of quotations from the qur’an intended to incite terror into both believers and nonbelievers alike, along with warnings to fellow muslims to be more "rigorous" and "correct" in their observance of islamic ritual and (what passes for islamic) morality.

And also on Nolen's facebook page are two photos in specific...photos that show his direct ties to islam. One photo of him is with two members of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City where he is holding up his index finger in the hand sign used by members and supporters of ISIS...and the other is a photo of the 9/11 attacks with his comment, "A future prophecy revelation  18.8. She (the Statue of Liberty) is going into flames. She and anybody who's with her."

And yet this horrific act is still being deemed 'workplace violence'...shameful is all I can say.

And why is it being ruled this way...why are law enforcement authorities reluctant to challenge Obama who keeps claiming, "The U.S. is NOT now or ever will it be at war with Islam"...who keeps claiming, "Islam is a religion of peace." Why was this particular act that was both inspired and approved by islam deemed 'workplace violence'...why. I believe it's out of fear of stepping on muslim toes is why...out of fear of accepting as fact that those out to kill us all are now walking freely amongst us...out of fear of contradicting this administration's call for 'political correctness' when dealing with anything muslim and NOTHING more. And 'they'...the jihadists... are indeed walking freely amongst us because we have a president who has let the muslim infiltration of America move forward while he closes his eyes and gives praise to allah that our enemy...that those who are his brethren...can do what they do while his hands remain physically clean of the blood that is really upon them... the blood that NO matter how hard he tries he can NEVER really wash off.

Now of course the left is saying that this call of 'workplace violence'...NO matter that Nolen was fired for tying to convert co-workers to islam and was a proponent of stoning women...was indeed the right call because Nolen was NOT the first person nor will he be the last person to be angry over being fired and react violently. Many are even saying that Nolen had to be mentally ill to do what he did but that is just an excuse to cover the fact that while Nolen was stabbing Colleen...when Nolen was beheading her...he was following what he was commanded to do by the words of the qur'an...commanded in Sura 47:4 to do..." When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks…” 

And do it he did.

Driven by revenge NOT for just being fired but seeking revenge for the rejection of islam by those he tried to convert, Nolen lashed out...good muslim that he is...by following the tenets of islam laid down in the qur'an equating to jihad and NOTHING less. And America is scared as this act was done on American soil...was done in America's heartland...and has now forced us to constantly look over our shoulders ...to become aware of our surroundings and of just who might now enter those surroundings.

And America is now being forced to face the harsh reality that as other acts of jihad happen across our beloved land...and know that they will... that they too will be called and charged as mere 'crimes' instead of the acts of terrorism that they truly are. After all, law enforcement dare NOT step on the toes of the enemy...the enemy both occupying the White House and the enemy out to kill us all.
