Biden Defends His $6 Trillion Spending Proposals
Reagan McCarthy / Townhall Tipsheet

President Joe Biden proposed a host of new hefty spending bills, all with hefty price tags. The three main packages, the already-passed American Rescue Plan, the American Jobs Plan, and the American Families Plan all together total $6 trillion in taxpayer-funded spending. The American Jobs Plan is the Biden administration's proposed infrastructure package, that has minimal to do with building real infrastructure, that also includes a corporate tax hike. The American Families Plan takes aim at child care and paid family leave. Both plans include tax increases on Americans.

The president is having difficulty selling this high spending number even to some Democrats, but he said that the packages will aid in coronavirus recovery.

“That’s why it’s recovering,” Biden said of heavy spending bills. “We’re investing."

The president also dismissed concerns about the stature of the spending packages, and argued that only the federal government can build real infrastructure. Read more here.

Court Rules “Ghost Gun” Plans Can Be On Internet
Tom Knighton / BEARING ARMS

So-called ghost guns scare the crap out of the left. The problem is that they can’t control them. They can’t regulate them, really. Oh, they can pass all the laws they want about it, but you can’t really stop it from happening. Especially in the era of the 3D printer, where you can basically print out an entire weapon.

Instead, what anti-gunners have tried to do is make it so you can’t get access to the files. If you don’t have the files to tell your printer what to make, it’s a lot harder to make a gun.

Unfortunately, a court ruling just hurt those efforts.

Plans for 3D-printed, self-assembled “ghost guns” can be posted online without U.S. State Department approval, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday.

A divided panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco reinstated a Trump administration order that permitted removal of the guns from the State Department’s Munitions List. Read more here.

President Biden's address to Congress: The top 5 moments
There were several notable moments during Biden's historic address to sparse House chamber

President Biden delivered an address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, giving his most high-profile speech to the nation yet on the eve of his 100th day in office.

Here are the top five moments from Biden's address to a joint session of Congress Wednesday night.

Biden's entrance

Biden's walk to the front of the House chamber was eerie.

Normally at addresses like this, presidents are mobbed by dozens of lawmakers seeking just a couple seconds of air time on national television. Presidents shake hands, dole out slaps on the shoulder and smile as they take usually multiple minutes to make it up the aisle.

Biden Wednesday, however, was not visibly smiling -- he was wearing a mask as he walked into the chamber despite that he is vaccinated.

Biden dealt fist bumps to a handful of lawmakers, including Republicans. He got a pat on the back from Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and elbow bumped with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. But there were more open seats in the chamber than lawmakers.

Biden Gets Torched Over Claim Capitol Riot Was 'Worst Attack on Our Democracy Since the Civil War'
Leah Barkoukis / Townhall Tipsheet

In his first address before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, President Biden oddly claimed that the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building was “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”

"As I stand here tonight — just one day shy of the 100th day of my administration. 100 days since I took the oath of office, lifted my hand off our family Bible, and inherited a nation in crisis," he said.

"The worst pandemic in a century. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War," Biden added.

The claim prompted widespread backlash from social media users.

Biden moves to extend key parts of COVID-19 relief bills with American Families Plan
The legislation is an effort to build on the American Rescue Plan
President Biden is expected to announce the American Families Plan during his first joint address to Congress on Wednesday that has been framed as a complement to earlier massive investments during the COVID-19 era, but critics will likely seize on the plan as an attempt to extend major parts of the earlier relief packages.

The legislation is an effort to build on the American Rescue Plan, which was the $1.9 trillion behemoth passed in March. Republicans were opposed to the earlier plan because they argued that only nine percent of the funds went to actual COVID-19 relief.

Larry Kudlow, the former Trump economic advisor and Fox Business host, said Tuesday that rumors of Biden’s tax plan has galvanized the Democrats' socialist wing of the party.

"This is redistribution, assault on investment and it makes left-wing ideology -- I will say [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] is correct: the progressive left won Biden’s heart, absolutely," he said.

Abbott: I'll Sign Constitutional Carry If It Gets To My Desk
Cam Edwards / BEARING ARMS

Before this year’s legislative session had even begun, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called on lawmakers in Austin to send him a Second Amendment Sanctuary bill. Now, in the waning days of this year’s session, the governor is throwing his weight behind a Constitutional Carry bill as well.

The Texas House has already approved Constitutional Carry language, but the Republican leadership in the Senate seems less inclined to take up the issue, but Abbott’s comments may be enough to get the bill moving again. The governor sounded pretty confident that the legislation will receive a Senate vote in an interview with a Dallas radio station yesterday.

“Once the Senate passes it out, the House and Senate will convene and work out any differences and get it to my desk,” Governor Abbott told WBAP’s Rick Roberts on Tuesday. “And I’ll be signing it.”

...And what exactly is this zone we, as white folks, dare not enter but a politically manufactured sector of sorts where no white person is allowed to speak nor even think ill of any persons of color. And if we do we are not only deemed to be racists, but it gives misplaced credence and opportunity to both Democrat politicians and their media cohorts to continue perpetrating the lie that our beloved America is a systemically racist nation especially against those whose skin color is black, or as Joe Biden, the man who once said he did not want his own children to grow up in a "racial jungle" now says, is but a “stain on our nation’s soul.”

But I believe what is the true “stain on our nation's soul” is actually the not uniting together of both good black and white folks in a show of strength against these evil and vile sorts no matter the color of their skin.

Calls for John Kerry to be investigated for what he told Iran
Pro-Israel group wants Kerry to be subpoenaed by Congress

Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is accused of telling Iran about Israeli operations and now there are demands for him to be investigated, and resign, over what he allegedly told them.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a leaked audiotape, claimed that while Kerry served as America's top diplomat during the Obama administration, he discussed more than 200 operations that Israel had carried out in Syria against Iranian targets. He said that he was astonished at the revelations.

This comes after Kerry's meetings with Zarif, held as a private citizen after he left office, have also raised questions about what he has told Iranian officials over the years.

Kerry currently serves as the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. It is a Cabinet-level post in the Biden administration but was not subject to Senate confirmation. The new revelations about Iran have raised some concern in the Senate.

Here's How the 2020 Census Results Are Shaking Up the Congressional Map
Spencer Brown / Townhall Tipsheet

The United States Census Bureau announced the results of its decennial count of the American population Monday afternoon. According to census officials, the United States counted 331,449,281 among its population, an increase of 7.4% since the last census was conducted in 2010.

The U.S. population growth from 2010 to 2020 is less than the previous 10-year period that saw a 9.7% increase between 2000 to 2010. Regionally, the South grew the most with 10.2% growth from 2010 to 2020, while the West grew 9.2%, the Northeast grew 4.1%, and the Midwest grew 3.1%. Utah was the fastest-growing state with an 18.4% increase while West Virginia showed the largest rate of decrease at -3.2%.

Iran's foreign minister says John Kerry told him about Israeli covert operations in Syria
Kerry has previously been accused of colluding with Iranian leaders to undermine Trump administration

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed in recently leaked audio that John Kerry, when he was serving as Secretary of State during the Obama administration, informed him of more than 200 Israeli operations in Syria.

Kerry has previously been accused of colluding with Iranian leaders to undermine the Trump administration. Kerry is now a part of the Biden administration and has a seat on the National Security Council as the special presidential envoy for climate.

Kerry shocked Zarif by revealing that Israel had attacked Iranian targets in Syria more than 200 times, according to leaked audio obtained by The New York Times and other outlets.

The One Democrat Who Says Columbus Officer Who Shot Ma’Khia Bryant Was In the Right
Julio Rosas / Townhall Tipsheet

Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), the former Police Chief of Orlando, broke with other Democrats and Black Lives Matter to defend the Columbus police officer who shot 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant while she was attempting to stab a black girl during an altercation.

During her interview on "Face the Nation," Demings said the officer did what he was trained to do, which is to protect himself and the life of others who face immediate danger.

"When I served as a police chief what I prayed for daily was that my police officers would respond as they are trained to do. Now after every incident, we would have to go back and look at our policies and make sure the policies met the moment," Demings said.

Appeasement, Fear, and A Truth Not Told
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio

It wasn't a verdict...it was a vendetta delivered to appease the always angry mobs of miscreants and thugs...a verdict rendered way too fast to have been carefully and with due diligence reached. Guilty on all three charges...second degree murder, third degree murder, and second degree manslaughter.

And so it's now one week since former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin has been tried and convicted both legally and in the “court of public opinion”...convicted based not upon true medical evidence per se, but based upon a video played for the jury over and over again. We all know well the video in question...the video showing Officer Chauvin's knee on media anointed saint George Floyd's neck...a video that those on the jury surely viewed many times during the past year as did we all...jury persons who had already found Chauvin guilty in their own minds even before being appointed to sit on said jury.

And don't think for a minute that anyone on that jury hadn't seen the video beforehand as it was and still is being posted all over the internet...posted so many times that this one video has become so ingrained in our subconscious that common sense coupled with must needed impartiality of the legal kind be damned. And why common sense specifically...because to most law abiding folks it seems pretty obvious that those on the jury were picked because they appeared to be easily swayed individuals who could be manipulated if need be... manipulated to fear the very real possibility of their being both the cause and the scapegoat for any riots that followed if the verdict rendered exonerated Chauvin in any way.

But why do I say this...because one key critical piece of evidence seems to have been completely and possibly deliberately ignored during the trial...as in the very fact that the Official Minneapolis Medical Examiner's Autopsy Report showed absolutely no...I repeat no... forensic evidence that George Floyd was asphyxiated by the placing of Derek Chauvin's knee upon his neck. Also included in the M.E. report was the lack thereof of petechine (pinpoint-sized red dots caused by broken blood vessels common with asphyxiation) and that there were no internal neck injuries of the "crushing" kind found, as in "life-threatening" injuries to Floyd's neck, head, spine, chest, brain, skull or injuries even remotely related to his larynx.

Simply, without said injuries present, common sense should once again dictate that while Officer Chauvin's knee was indeed on George Floyd's neck as shown in the video, it appeared not to be "crushing" or compressing into his neck but simply, for lack of a better word, "resting" there. And while that action itself can be considered a questionable action regarding the legalities of police procedures used, it in no way, in my humble opinion, even remotely relates to murder especially when the one being subdued was a career criminal, a convicted felon, a man caught in the act of committing yet another crime, a man so hopped up on drugs that it took numerous officers to subdue him. The actions of Officer Derek Chauvin regarding the knee was, if anything, a bad judgment call on his part, but not one that should equate to murder...manslaughter perhaps but not murder...for he in no way ever intended to kill George Floyd.

And what so many forget is that police officers take an oath to “serve and protect,” and that they put their own lives on the line everyday to do so. They surely never know when a routine traffic stop might lead to their own death or when a drugged out thug might turn on them next. And while too many say there's always some bad apples in the police bunch, I say those few bad apples are way outnumbered by those simply doing the very job they swore an oath to do. Think of it this way...do we white folks condemn all black folks for the actions of BLM miscreants and thugs or for the likes of disgraceful and cowardly sorts like LeBron James who last week tweeted and then took down that “YOU'RE NEXT” in reference to the white police officer who saved the life of a young black girl ready to be murdered by another young black girl, as in 16-year old knife-wielding Ma'Khia Bryant? No we do not, and the Columbus, Ohio police officer who saved the young girl's life should be hailed as a hero, and LeBron James should not only be ashamed of himself and publicly apologize to the officer, but should be arrested for deliberate incitement of violence as well.

Arrested for incitement as should 16-term California Rep. Maxine Waters, a woman solely driven and defined by the color of her skin. A thug in her own right who not too long ago claimed that “rioting is the voice of the unheard” when rioting is actually the voice of those who think they are owed everything simply because they are black, Maxine Waters embodies everything the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. fought hard against for the “content of her character” is as ugly as the sick sneer she always has on her face. A no longer closeted racist, Maxine Waters outward hatred of white people is on full display every time she opens her mouth to speak, for her ill-mannered vulgarities and hate filled vocal intonations against not just white folks but the police as well speak volumes while her black skin color now places her safely in the "dare we not condemn her" zone.

And what exactly is this zone we, as white folks, dare not enter but a politically manufactured sector of sorts where no white person is allowed to speak nor even think ill of any persons of color.

And herein lies a good part of the problem, a problem that in reality only black folks themselves can solve, for the fact is that while the majority of black folks are truly decent, hard working, family oriented folks...just like the vast majority of we white folks are...and they are folks we are happy to call “friend”...they continue to allow the voices and rhetoric of the likes of Rep. Maxine Waters, LeBron James, BLM's hierarchy, the Nation of Islam's Louie Farakham, and other assorted militant black groups and individuals...as in black leftist politicians including, sadly, a former president...to not only speak dangerous words of incitement but to take action into their own hands all in the name of the whole.

Remember, if one does not condemn one condones...if black folks themselves do not tell the black miscreants and thugs to stop speaking and acting up on behalf of said whole, then in their silence they are indeed condoning not only overtly racist words of hate, but overtly racist and ever so dangerous actions now coupled with vehemently anti-police rhetoric as well. And their cry of holding police officers accountable for acts of brutality are truly getting tiring indeed for more white officers are killed by black thugs than black thugs are killed by white officers. But these deaths we never hear of for the media themselves acquiesces both out of fear and unfortunately the ratings...a true monetary gain which black thug deaths garners for them as well.

Simply put, the miscreants and thugs are carrying out actions ordered and heralded by what are militant black separatists groups...groups who in no way strive for or even want equality between the two races...groups whose true want is total black domination over white folks...domination delegated and willingly accepted, it seems, courtesy of the always present fear that these same black groups will surely act up again if we dare not appease them. And know that these black militant minority groups actually now do control the entirety of what amounts to the politically designed and motivated race-bating discourse, and they do so by their always hanging the threat of said violence, rioting, looting, arson, and mayhem over our heads if they dare not get their way.

And not only do these vile militant black folks have the vast majority of America's black population silently complying out of fear...remember black on black crime is the curse good black folks face on a daily basis...but sadly that same fear now seems to have engulfed a good many white folks too. And this can easily be seen in the ever growing multitude of spineless Republican politicians so afraid of being labeled a “racist” that they willingly cater and bend to the will of those who have no problem sacrificing, if you will, Police Officer Derek Chauvin to the angry miscreant mob calling for his blood. And they're doing so all in the name of the afore mentioned career criminal, convicted felon, and hard core drug addict who had enough illegal substances in him on the day of his death to open up his own drug store, a man who will now and forever be known as media canonized Saint George Floyd...a martyr to all who claim they "can't breathe."

And all I can say is may heaven and an overturned verdict on appeal help save us all.

Chauvin Trial Juror Says She Feared Intimidation at Her Home, Riots If Verdict Wasn't Accepted
Katie Pavlich / Townhall Tipsheet

During an interview with KARE 11 a juror for the trial of ex-Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, who ultimately found out she was an alternate, expressed concern about being called for the job because she "didn't want to see rioting again" and was scared people would show up at her home if they were unhappy with a particular verdict.

Raguse: Did you want to be a juror?

Christensen: I had mixed feelings. There was a question on the questionnaire about it and I put I did not know. The reason, at that time, was I did not know what the outcome was going to be, so I felt like either way you are going to disappoint one group or the other. I did not want to go through rioting and destruction again and I was concerned about people coming to my house if they were not happy with the verdict.

Ben Carson: We will 'destroy ourselves as a nation' if Americans don't wake up' and unite
By Fox News Staff

Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson joined "America's Newsroom" Wednesday to respond to the Derek Chauvin trial verdict, and discuss his recent op-ed arguing that the term "racial equity" is "another kind of racism."

BEN CARSON: Do we need some reforms? Absolutely. There are things that can be done, and we can do those much better if we work together rather than trying to demonize the system based on occurrences that are quite infrequent. And there are things that the police could use, for instance, that are non-lethal, that are very effective in immobilizing people. We need to move forward on those kinds of things.

But, you know, the president, I think, could probably do much better by saying we have a system in place. It works, as you've seen by the verdict that was done here. Do we need to make improvements? Yes. And let's work together to do that. It seems to me that would be much more presidential.

DeSantis Lists Top Agenda Items If He Were President Today
Leah Barkoukis / Townhall

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis named what some of his priorities would be if he were president right now, and unlike the current commander in chief, he’d put reining in illegal immigration at the top of his list.

“If you somehow got appointed president this afternoon what would your priorities be?” Fox News’s Tucker Carlson asked.

“I would secure the border, first of all,” he replied. “This is created because of what Biden did.”

While he said President Trump “had it right” on many immigration issues, DeSantis vowed to go further.

“We banned sanctuary cities in Florida when I became governor, we did E-Verify for the first time ever, fought the business lobby to do that,” the governor told Carlson. “I would fight for those policies on the federal level as well, because we’ve got to get this immigration situation under control.”

Racist Professor Demands a 'Conviction of America' After Chauvin Verdict
Katie Pavlich / Townhall Tipsheet

After a jury delivered three guilty verdicts for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin for the second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter of George Floyd Tuesday afternoon, the race-obsessed Left isn't satisfied.

Leading "anti-racist" Boston University professor Ibram X. Kendi is calling for the conviction of the United States of America and is brushing aside the idea that individual officers are responsible for their actions, rather than the entire justice system.

"So now what? Chauvin is headed to jail, but is America headed to justice. Is justice convicting a police officer, or is justice convicting America?" Kendi asks in a new video for CBS News. "When tens of millions of Americans after Floyd's murder last year took to the streets of nearly every American town, we were convicting America."

Waters brushes off judge’s criticism over ‘confrontational’ comment, claims he said her words ‘don’t matter'
Waters has been criticized by Republicans who called her comment reckless

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., appeared to shake off comments by the judge in the Derek Chauvin murder trial who said her "confrontational" remarks during a weekend protest in Minnesota could result in "this whole trial being overturned."

Judge Peter Cahill was asked by Eric Nelson, the defense attorney, to declare a mistrial due to prosecutorial misconduct and Waters’ comments at a Brooklyn Center protest on Saturday night.

She was asked about the Chauvin case and told reporters if the former police officer is not found guilty of murder, "We've got to stay on the street and we've got to get more active, we've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business."

FL Sheriff Has Some Advice for the 'Millions' of People Moving to the State on How to Vote

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd made it clear to people who are moving from blue states to Florida to not bring their blue politics with them.

Judd made the comments at the press conference where Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed an anti-riot bill into law on Monday.

"I’ve got something I want you to see. This is what we enjoy in Florida. This is the Florida we know and love. This is what our Governor, our Speaker, our President, this is what all these law enforcement officers and administrators and sheriffs and police chiefs and their officers do every day.  They guarantee an environment where you can come here and have fun," Judd said while holding up pictures of the beach and Disney World.
