The president’s annual state of the union address is another example of how dysfunctional our government in Washington has become.
Article 2, section 3 of the US Constitution says that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union….”

The president is the chief executive of our government. As chief executive, it makes sense that he report periodically about the state of affairs to the body responsible for passing laws, the Congress, so they have a sense of what needs to be done.

If handled correctly, the State of the Union should be like the annual report of a corporate chief executive to shareholders. It should convey key information so that stakeholders know what’s going on.

But that’s not what happens. This isn’t about informing stakeholders. It’s about political calculations and pitching a laundry list of proposals, invariably with wonderful benefits, and rarely any perceivable costs, designed to make the President and his party look good.

President Obama introduced in this year’s State of the Union address his proposal to create new retirement accounts for, in the words of the White House, “the millions of low and middle-income households earning up to $191,000.” What they are calling “MyRAs.”

How could enhancing retirement savings not be a good idea? And, even better, it is a free lunch.

Again in the words of the White House, “the account balance will never go down in value” and will be totally secure because it will be “backed by the U.S. government.”

President Obama is creating these accounts with the greatest of ease, without even a new law from Congress, by doing what he has done better than any president in American history. Drive the U.S. government into debt.

These wonderful new retirement accounts will receive bonds from the U.S. Government. And who guarantees them?

Please, dear reader, if you are a U.S. taxpayer, look in the mirror and say “me.”

If the State of the Union was really about the president informing Congress and the nation, he would have reported the following from the recent 2013 Long-Term Budget Outlook report of the Congressional Budget Office:

“Federal debt held by the public is now about 73 percent of the economy’s annual output…higher than at any point in U.S. history, except a brief period around World War II, and it is twice the percentage at the end of 2007.”

“CBO projects,” the report continues, “that federal debt held by the public would reach 100 percent of GDP by 2038….even without accounting for the harmful effects that growing debt would have on the economy.”

Meanwhile, as President Obama uses U.S. government bonds to create magical new risk-free retirement savings accounts, there was not a word in the State of the Union of the broken state of affairs of the government’s oldest retirement plan – Social Security.

According to Social Security’s latest trustees report, the revenue shortfall, in today’s dollars, of projected requirements of Social Security to meet its long-term obligations is $9.6 trillion. Beginning in 2033, when those now in their late forties start retiring, there will be only funds “sufficient to pay 77 percent of scheduled benefits.”

If the president really wants to enhance retirement savings of low and middle income Americans, and create real savings and investment while addressing the fiscal disaster of Social Security, let these folks opt out of the Social Security black hole and use those funds to open a real retirement account.

This is what was done in Chile and it worked. The Chilean economy grew because the new retirement accounts directed investments into the real economy (as opposed to creating more government debt) and Chilean workers have achieved real returns and newly created wealth.

Wouldn’t it be novel if the president really reported on the State of the Union each year and if we solved our existing problems before creating new ones?

The GOP Establishment seems confused about where we conservatives – you know, the majority of the party – stand on immigration reform. Maybe I can help it out.

No amnesty.

No bogus pseudo-legal status that is effectively amnesty.

No “enforcement first” plan that ends up with no enforcement and plenty of amnesty.

N-o A-m-n-e-s-t-y.

What part of that is in any way unclear? Apparently, the part about no amnesty.

In what universe is it a good idea to push for amnesty and increased immigration by zillions of people who will never, ever, ever vote Republican? The House GOP must have just held its retreat in Colorado because the only explanation for their thinking that selling out the base is a solid strategy is that they’ve been puffing on some killer weed.

Sure, this is all a great idea for the puppet masters of the Republican Establishment in Congress.

Those squishy sellouts are thinking less about conservatism than about the day that they can ditch Capitol Hill and take the reins as executive director of the American Undergarment Trade Association for a cool $900K a year as payback for a couple of decades of carrying water for Big Undie.

After all, what giant corporatist conglomerate wouldn’t want a steady flow of desperate new workers to do their menial labor at low, low wages without making all those outrageous demands that actual Americans make? Capitalism is great, but these corporate cronies are as much about the free market as Justin Bieber is about sobriety and good music.

Hell, the existence of Canadian refugee Justin Bieber should end the entire immigration debate before it even starts. Step one in any reform plan should be shipping him and his posse back to Winnipeg.

While walling off the Great White North might be a bit extreme – might be – putting up a real fence on the border with Mexico makes a lot of sense. Of course, it only makes sense if you actually want to stop illegal immigration. The Establishment clearly doesn’t, and you can tell that it doesn’t by its steadfast refusal to take any action consistent with actually stopping illegal immigration.

Let me spell out where conservatives stand on border security.

No “virtual fences.”

No focus on “enhanced interior enforcement” or “improved visa controls.”

No more promises, dodges or misdirections.

Build a freaking fence, don’t just promise to build one like last time.

A fence. Build it now.

I hope that was clear, but I fear the GOP Establishment still won’t get the message. Isolated from the people who actually elected its members and surrounded by K Street creeps who hand them bundles of cash, Team RINO has lately demonstrated an amazing ability to talk itself into the most mind-bogglingly stupid positions imaginable.

After all, these are the shrewd, savvy pros who decided that the one group in all of America that deserved to have its cash curtailed was Republican-leaning veterans. How could Republicans even consider doing that? Did they convene a council of renowned idiots and challenge them to come up with the single most offensive conceivable combination of political idiocy and glaring immorality?

It’s actually quite remarkable. It’s like a quantum physics singularity of stupid.

And now they’ve decided that this is the perfect time to resurrect the push for amnesty, the one strategic choice that will both utterly alienate a motivated GOP base that is (was) about to retake the Senate in 2014 while simultaneously ensuring that the GOP will be destroyed in the decades to come.

Obama’s administration is drowning in the sea of failure that is Obamacare and the members of the GOP Genius Caucus have decided that the smart play is to throw it their own life preserver.

Oh, and then the Establishment losers add insult to injustice by starting up with the smarmy, self-righteous clichés about how they are far, far too caring to want to limit access to our country to those we give permission to visit. They are so much more enlightened than those knuckle draggers who elected them. But if their crony masters told them to do a 180 on amnesty they’d be laying the bricks for a wall themselves.

Their cynical posturing as friends of the world’s huddled masses yearning to be free is nonsense – they’re advocates for huddled masses punching clocks at minimum wage in the service of their corporatist paymasters.

Let me be clear, GOP Thinkers, because your parasitical campaign consultants, your failure-prone pollsters and your crony capitalist contributors are deluding you. Since these are the only people you talk to, you aren’t seeing your real problem. We are your real problem. We are your base. We do the phone banking and the precinct walking and, most of all, the actual voting. You can be sitting on a mountain of cash, but it means nothing if you stab us in the back and next November we decide to stay home.

And we will. Believe it. Do not test us.

GOP Establishment, if you do this, it’s done. It’s over. We don’t like you and we don’t trust you, yet we’re still willing to work with you and to make those calls and knock on those doors and to vote for the guy with the (R) after his name because the left is so much worse. But if you join the left in shafting us, we’re gone. We’re out of here. Finished.

Sure, we dislike progressivism. But we hate betrayal more. Don’t tear the GOP to shreds, because that’s how this game ends. You’ve been warned.

Iranian General: We have “identified centers in America” for attack, U.S. “will be destroyed from within”

  / Jihad Watch

13920710000294_PhotoITargets? Within America? But I thought the Iranians were all moderates now, and loved us. In any case, the “destroyed from within” part looks as if it is proceeding apace.

“Iranian commander: We have targets within America,” by Reza Kahlili for the Daily Caller, February 1:
A top commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards boasted Saturday that his forces have plans in place to attack the United States from within, should the U.S. attack the Islamic Republic.
“America, with its strategic ignorance, does not have a full understanding of the power of the Islamic Republic,” Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami said in a televised interview. “We have recognized America’s military strategy, and have arranged our abilities, and have identified centers in America [for attack] that will create a shock.”
Reports indicate that terrorist Hezbollah forces — allies of Iran — have infiltrated the U.S. and have mapped out targets.
“We will conduct such a blow in which they [America] will be destroyed from within,” Salami said.
This is the second warning by a high-ranking officer of the Guards in two weeks. The chief commander of the Guards, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Jafari, addressing Secretary of State John Kerry, said on Jan. 24 that a direct conflict with America is the “strongest dream of the faithful and revolutionary men around the world.”
Kerry had previously said that if Iran did not live up to the agreement reached in Geneva on its nuclear program, “all options are on the table.”
“Your threats to revolutionary Islam are the best opportunity,” Jafari had said. “Muslim leaders for years have been preparing us for a decisive battle.… Do you know how many thousands of revolutionary Muslims at the heart of the Islamic revolutionary groups around the world are awaiting for you to take this [military] option from the table into action?”
Op-ed:
Tea Partiers will determine the mid-terms...
and the Republicans know it
By: Diane Sori

“Play offense. Go after your opponent. Your opponent’s going after you, you go after your opponent. The best defense is a good offense.”

Words out of the mouth of RINO Senator John McCain...good words but they make one wonder which side he's addressing this to...as if we didn't know.

And so we have liberals to the left of us...RINOS NOT quite to the left but so NOT to the right of us...and caught in the middle is we Conservatives and TEA Partiers. And the prize all sides want is the Senate...the left wants to keep it, the RINOS will go whichever way the wind blows, and we in the middle know that to retake the Senate as long as we keep the House means Barack HUSSEIN Obama is basically rendered politically impotent from doing any more harm to our beloved America.

Tuesday, November 4, 2014...the day we can set things right...true Conservative Republican/TEA Party right that is.

With all 435 seats in the House and 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate up for grabs...and with 38 state and territorial governorships thrown into the mix...when you add in Obama's poll numbers thankfully tanking...Republicans now have their best chance in a decade to take back the Senate...that is if they stop all their in-fighting...which the Democrats are exploiting to the hilt...and unite together as a strong cohesive unit against the sure to come liberal Democratic assault of lies and innuendos. The Democrats know they are teetering on the abyss Senate-wise...and the Democrats know that their chances are practically nil for recapturing the House...so 'Prince' Harry Reid in the Senate and 'Botox Queen' Nancy Pelosi in the House will pull out all the stops to try and stop the charging Republican elephant.

And the bottom line numbers wise is that Republicans need to pick up six seats to win back the Senate majority, while the Democrats must fight to keep 21 seats, including seven in key Senate battlegrounds states where Obama lost to Romney in 2012. To re-take the House, Democrats need 17 seats of the currently held 31 majority Republican seats, an almost impossible task to do with the ObamaCare fiasco hanging over their heads. If all the stars are aligned correctly...yeah I know...this should mean the Republicans would have an easy time keeping the House, but they can still blow it with all their nonsense between the true Conservatives of the party and those whose moderation leans so far to the left that they might as well put a 'D' after their name and be done with it.

Now if true Conservative Republicans would weed out those RINOS and embrace TEA Party Conservatives into the fold...TEA Party Conservatives like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee whose very conservative principles help define the TEA Party movement....all this becomes very doable.

And while I know what I'm going to say next might irk some it still must be said for if all of us out in the trenches who are working on the grassroots level would concentrate our efforts solely on the Congressional and Senatorial races...meaning put all the local small issue races aside during this election cycle...then we very well could win back the Senate. And while I know many believe change starts from the bottom up...as in the local level...in this election cycle it must start from the top down for only then will we paint America red from coast to coast. And if we succeed, Barack HUSSEIN Obama will NOT be able to get even one of his anti-American agenda issues passed...and maybe just maybe with a super-majority ObamaCare can become a nightmare we do wake up from.

However, it must be said that Obama is NOT likely to allow this to happen without a fight and he will do every and anything he can to split the Republican party even more than it already is...and this we cannot abide for if he succeeds once easily won Senate and House races will indeed be lost.

But as I said before, the Republicans must now accept NOT speak against the TEA Party if they are to pull off this most critical of political maneuvers. Republicans need TEA Party voices to do what they are too meek to do...to afraid of the race card to do...and that is to keep hammering away the point of just how ObamaCare is tied to and effects one-sixth of the U.S. economy. And only with TEA Party voices can the Republicans successfully pound home the all important message of how Obama's lack of leadership is both an outright abuse of and a complete and total disregard for our Constitutionally laid out system of checks-and-balances. But sadly, the RINOS amongst us are watering down this critical message as they instead try to pander to the ILLEGALS for their votes...which by the way they will NOT get...by promising them amnesty reform.

Remember, TEA Party groups were formed upon beliefs of smaller government, fiscal responsibility, power in the hands of local government, strong national defense, and less intrusion into the private lives of 'We the People.' And what the establishment hierarchy of the Republican party needs to accept if they are to win elections again is the simple fact that the once great party of Lincoln and Reagan needs the TEA Party NOT to just join their ranks but to take those founding beliefs and help remold those vacillating too far to the left...to help bring them back to 'God and Country.' And as the old adage about strength in numbers goes, math dictates that those with the most numbers wins elections...and with the TEA Party movement now 130+ million strong the Republican Party would serve itself well by welcoming them into the fold.

And so if the Republicans were smart and were really serious about winning back the Senate in November and then taking back the White House in 2016, they must embrace the heart, the mind, and the soul of the TEA Party for the TEA Party speaks about how 'We the People'...how we everyday Americans love our freedoms...how we love our country...and how we love our Constitution...and once the Republicans felt that way too.

And just for the record, I am a Republican...a proud TEA Party Republican embracing the values and ideals of Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and LTC Allen West.
