Brandon and Collet Stephan are on trial in Canada for "failing to provide the necessaries of life" to their 19-month old son, Ezekiel. Ezekiel passed away in March 2012, and despite being quite ill for a number of weeks, the Stephans treated their son only with "home remedies" such as maple syrup, frozen berries, and other supplements. Ezekiel was not vaccinated and the Stephans believe that the charges against them are part of the "vaccine agenda" that is out to get them. They have both plead not guilty.

RCMP said at the time that the boy had been ill for a couple of weeks but his parents only called for an ambulance when he stopped breathing.

The Crown alleges the parents fed the boy supplements with an eye dropper, lay down with him and consulted a friend.

Ezekiel Stephan of Raymond, Alta., died in March 2012. An autopsy shows he had meningitis. 

However, they did not seek medical help until the toddler stopped breathing, the Crown told court.

Ezekiel was airlifted to a hospital in Calgary and, after five days, doctors took him off life support machines.

Doctors told the boy's parents he died of meningitis.

Crown counsel played an audio tape from a police officer who interviewed the couple after hospital staff called police.

On the tape, Collet Stephan tells the officer a friend, who is a nurse, told the couple the boy likely had meningitis.

Spoiler alert: survival rates for meningitis go up if a person is taken to a doctor at the earliest sign of symptoms, and while maple syrup is delicious on pancakes and as a flavoring for other baked goods, it is wholly useless against treating inflammation of the meninges. Canada has free healthcare that could have saved this child's life, yet the parents decided to go the tree sap-and-frozen-berries route.

Unbelievable.

Further, it's absolutely absurd that in today's society, which is curiously free of horrible diseases that killed our relatives only a generation ago thanks to widespread vaccinations, people still refuse to protect their children against these diseases.

In New Video, ISIS Warns Paris-style Attack on US 'Isn't Far'

The Islamic State has warned America in a new video that a Paris-style attack on the homeland is imminent.

The video, titled “A Message to America From the Islamic Caliphate Supporters,” shows scenes from wars in the Middle East and the Paris attack.

The English-speaking man narrating it then warns: “Paris isn’t far from you - we will by Allah’s permission do to your country what we did to Paris. We will kill, slaughter and burn your people.”

“You dogs of Rome, Kerry and Obama, haven't you learned your lesson yet?” it continued.

'Fighting the Islamic caliphate state is making you lose lots of wealth and even losing the lives of your army as well as your people.'

He also makes reference to cyber attacks on the terror group and attempts to shut down their online operation. 

'No matter how many times you delete our accounts or chase our places and no matter how you fight us, we are still here and we will support the Islamic caliphate state.'

According to the Sun, the video cuts to older footage of Jihadi John -killed in a US drone strike last year - wearing a balaclava and standing over his prisoners. 

Heading into the New Year polling found that terrorism ranked as Americans’ top concern. This video, coupled with the Obama administration’s failed ISIS strategy and goal of closing down Guantanamo Bay, does little to allay those fears.

Hezbollah Announces It’s Prepared To Give Israel The ‘Biggest War Ever’

Hezbollah source: Hezbollah has developed 'a sophisticated command-and-control structure, including advanced telecommunications networks, the use of drones for reconnaissance, and the ability to maintain long supply line.'

Foreign Policy reported that a source close to Hezbollah leadership stated they are prepared to give Israel the biggest war yet and it will be nothing like the 2006. With its military reorganized, amassed weapons (including guided missiles) and equipment, Hezbollah could effectively have a go at Israeli air and naval assets and do some real damage.

The source outlined the differences between the 2006 war and what Hezbollah would be capable of today: Hezbollah fighters are well-seasoned and have tactical experience due to the ongoing Syrian war; they’ve been able to amass a large weapons cache, some of which are 100k+ rockets that are able to strike Israel’s third largest city, Haifa; and a complete military restructuring focusing on command and control.

The ongoing Syrian war is just what Hezbollah fighters needed to gain the tactical experience needed to fight regarding modern warfare. A few examples of what these fighters have learned can be seen in the border town of Shebba, Lebanon. These Hezbollah fighters carry out small attacks on Israel via Shebba on a near daily basis and are able to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs) without being detected. A testament that these fighters are fast becoming a very serious threat to Israel and with these fighters having access to state of the art weapons, this threat may be imminent.
