Trade War: Merkel Threatens US Over Trump Tariffs

German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned the United States on Sunday that U.S. tariffs on imported steel and aluminum would not go unchallenged.

After President Trump's decision to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum imported from the E.U., Merkel warned the E.U. would be following Canada’s lead, moving forward with countermeasures against the U.S.

“We won’t allow ourselves be ripped off again and again. We will act too,” Merkel said.

She also showed no signs of letting up—even if Trump retaliated by imposing tariffs on cars.

‘It’s All The Polite Presidents Who’ve Gotten Us Into This Mess, Maybe We Need An Impolite President To Try To Switch Things Up’

Joe Machi, a panelist on Saturday night’s “Greg Gutfeld Show” may be on to something.
When asked by Gutfeld about his thoughts on the upcoming Trump/Kim summit, he replied:

I think Trump has a point. This should have been handled long ago, but it’s all the polite presidents who’ve gotten us into this mess, maybe we need an impolite president to try to switch things up, see what happens.

Gutfeld agreed with Machi, saying, “Yeah, he’s the crazy guy…now when they scream “Death to America,” we scream back “screw you!”
