Boston Globe comes out for restrictions on the freedom of speech, approves censorship of AFDI ads

Thomas Jefferson called this man a demeaning, disparaging name
"A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may
define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people." -- The

The Declaration of Independence called King George III a "Tyrant."
Was that not "demeaning or disparaging"? "Name-calling"? Even "an
unnecessary incitement"? But the Globe has, of course, long since
abandoned the desire for freedom that was the impetus for the
Declaration.
The suicide of the free press gallops on. The ad refers to Islamic
jihadists as "savage," and this is too much for the Globe. As Pamela Geller notes, the Globe states that "calling anyone a 'savage' is an unnecessary incitement.Were
the slaughters of the Fogel family savage? Was the homicide bomber on
the bus of Jewish women and children savage? Were the Muslim terrorists
on 9/11, 3/11, 11/26, etc. savage? Is truth an 'unnecessary incitement'?
And who is being 'unnecessarily incited'? The jihadists? They don't
need an excuse. They slaughter based on their religious teachings."
What's more, calling for restrictions on free speech because we might
say something that would make Islamic jihadists angry is to surrender
to them pre-emptively. If Muslims or anyone else is angry about
something, it doesn't give them any excuse to riot or kill. And if we
engage in self-censorship to keep them from rioting and killing, we are
validating their rage, hatred and violence, instead of calling on them
to act responsibility and learn to deal more rationally with things they
dislike.
The standard that the Globe recommends in this editorial would
ultimately destroy any possibility of speaking out against any kind of
tyranny or injustice, for we would not be able to call it what it was --
that would be "name-calling."
"MBTA’s advertising dispute: Speech without name-calling," an unsigned Boston Globe editorial, November 17:
The anti-Islamist group that’s suing the MBTA for rejecting
its ad raises an important point: Guidelines for political advertising
on the T must be enforced consistently. It’s a sensitive task for T
managers, and their pledge to judge all submissions equally is
admirable. There is no evidence the T violated its policy in rejecting
the ad from a nonprofit group called the American Freedom Defense
Initiative.
The T says it bars any ad that is “demeaning or disparaging” — a
sensible standard, if applied fairly. The ad in question declares, “In
any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized
man.” It adds, “Support Israel. Defeat jihad.” Lawyers for the AFDI said
in a press release that the ad “is supportive of Israel in the debate
over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.” But the text, derived from a
quote by writer Ayn Rand, is clearly demeaning: Calling anyone a
“savage” is an unnecessary incitement, whether directed at Palestinians,
Jews, Christians, Muslims, Republicans, or Democrats. The AFDI can
easily make a forceful case for Israel without calling anyone “savages.”
Indeed, the T has invited the group to modify the ad.
No, it hasn't. No one from the MBTA ever contacted us.
The basis for the lawsuit is the T’s decision, earlier this
year, to accept a pro-Palestinian ad that showed a series of maps
allegedly documenting “Palestinian loss of land” to Israel. That claim
may be hotly disputed, but it isn’t “demeaning or disparaging.” The
AFDI’s lawyers say that by stating that the United Nations classifies
4.7 million Palestinians as refugees, the ad is “claiming that Israel is
in effect engaging in war crimes.” But that’s nowhere in the text.
The AFDI should work with the MBTA on an ad that expresses the
group’s strong pro-Israel views but can’t be so obviously categorized as
demeaning.
Census Bureau Manipulated Jobs Numbers for 2012 Election
Apparently we just can’t trust government statistics. But, then
again, what else is new? According to a new report, released by John Crudele with the NY Post,
the jobs reports leading up to the 2012 Presidential Election were
“faked.” Remember when the unemployment rate magically dropped from 8.1
percent to 7.8 percent (coincidently helping Obama keep his previous
promise of lowering the unemployment rate before the end of his first
term)? Yeah, that’s just one of the jobs reports in question.
More than simply being manipulated, the Census Bureau was aware of
the tampered numbers. Never did the bureau deem it necessary to share
with the Markets, Press, or American People that there was some question
about the accuracy or dependability of their numbers leading up to the
Election. Heck, they didn’t even bother to disclose the data tampering
to the Labor Department.
But let’s not stop there. According to the NY Post:
A knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one
employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking
reelection in 2012 and continues today.
Well. . . I imagine making up data for the most closely watched
metric of economic health in the US is kinda addicting. You couldn’t
possibly expect the Bureau to suddenly raise the unemployment rate back
up to 8.1 percent after Obama was re-elected. Right?
Investigations (ya know. . . The press refers to them as
“witch-hunts” when Darrell Issa calls for one) are likely to crop up in
the coming weeks. While it is admittedly early to accuse our incredibly
transparent and honest Obama Administration of “cooking the books” in
the run up to his showdown with Mitt Romney, it’s not really out of the
picture either. (I’m sure they’d just tell us that Americans can keep
their current jobs numbers if they like their current jobs numbers.)
The revelations are likely to further erode the government’s already
decaying credibility. Regardless of the scandal’s size (or deliberate
nature) it continues to feed the American Public’s perception that the
Federal government is about as trustworthy as Jerry Lundegaard from Fargo.
Especially when these revelations are put in the context of recent
Obama Administration scandals. The most unnerving of which is clearly
the IRS’s willingness to target the President’s political opponents.
Earlier this year we learned the big scandal of the summer when it
came to light that the Internal Revenue Service had intentionally
targeted “tea-party” nonprofits for harassment and extra scrutiny
leading up to the 2012 election. Prophetically, that scandal also began
with the narrative that a couple of “rogue” employees had acted
“inappropriately”. Of course we now know that the harassment of
right-wing political organizations was wide-spread and organized from
the higher echelons of Washington DC.
In fact, when compared to the revelations of IRS misconduct, the NY
Post report looks potentially damning for the Department of Labor and
the credibility of the US Census. The IRS scandal demonstrated a
deliberate and willful manipulation of government resources to
consolidate and strengthen the Administration’s power. It illustrated a
willingness to coerce a win through the power of government. The
politically convenient timing of these “fake” jobs reports (coinciding
with a troubled Obama reelection effort) certainly should raise an
eyebrow. If not by themselves, they should merit inquisitiveness when
put in context with the Obama Administration’s habit of manipulation,
coercion, and outright lies.
On the other hand, does it really matter? It’s not as if the reports –
before or after the 2012 election – are reflective of America’s true
economic health. As individual data points, many of the traditional
metrics we utilize to measure the “health” of the economy are growing
increasingly irrelevant.
Our labor force is at a 35 year low, with more Americans on public
assistant programs than ever before. Seven point something percent
“unemployment” is a laughably useless number when placed within the
broader economic picture. When the headline unemployment rate fails to
take into account the massive amount of jobs reduced to part time, the
millions of Americans who have dropped from the labor force, and the low
quality nature of created jobs, the report is little more than
a curiosity.
(Well, I guess it does tell the market whether or not the
Fed is going to turn off the QE spigot.)
Investors, economists, journalists (eye-roll) and politicos should
look forward to more information from the Bureau regarding Crudele’s
revelations. Soon a flood of excuses, deflections, and reports will be
submitted to explain away the actions of “a rogue employee” in the
Census Bureau. Of course, all official reports will be stashed away in my home library next to Obama’s speeches and Bill Clinton’s explanations: Filed under “fiction”. PS: (Click here for Crudele’s full report.)
Rick Santelli reacted to the news yesterday on CNBC:
In Britain to promote her film "The Butler," Oprah Winfrey gave an
interview to the BBC last week. Not surprisingly, she promoted her movie
about race relations in the White House with comments about race relations
and the White House.
The BBC's Will Gompertz asked: "Has it ever crossed your mind that some of
the treatment of Obama and the challenges he's faced and some of the
reporting he's received is because he's an African-American?"
Now there's a fresh take.
Either Gompertz has been handcuffed to a radiator in someone's windowless
basement for the last five years or, more likely, he was riffing off the
suggested questions Winfrey's PR team handed out to interviewers. Neither
explanation would lift the stench of staleness from the question -- or the
answer.
Winfrey responded: "Has it ever crossed my mind? ... Probably it's crossed
my mind more times than it's crossed your mind. Just the level of
disrespect. When the senator yelled out, 'You're a liar' -- remember that?
Yeah, I think that there is a level of disrespect for the office that
occurs, and that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because
he's African-American."
Now it's true that Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) should not have shouted "You
lie!" (whether or not it was a lie) at the president during his
health-care address to Congress. But the evidence that Wilson was
motivated by racism is simply nonexistent.
However, a lack of evidence hasn't stopped countless liberals, editorial
boards, pundits and stand-up comics, not to mention administration
officials, from propagating the idea that Obama's problems boil down to
the irrational bigotry of his opponents.
Looking for examples of this relentless smear is like hunting for sand at
the beach. In July, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
told the NAACP that the same people who opposed the Civil Rights Act and
anti-lynching laws were opposing Obamacare. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) made
similar arguments. And from what I can tell, so has virtually every host
on MSNBC (except for Joe Scarborough). In one way or another they
subscribe to Chris Matthews' view that opposition to Obama and Obamacare
is driven by faith in white supremacy.
It's all very stupid and lazy. When President Clinton tried to transform
health care in the 1990s, conservatives opposed the effort hammer and
tongs. But when they mount the same battle with an even more liberal
president who happens to be black, the only logical conclusion is that
racism is afoot. George W. Bush is pretty white, and he was shown ample
disrespect. You can look it up.
This is not to say there aren't racists -- even in the GOP -- who don't
like the president and his agenda.
It's just that you don't need to leap
to racism to understand the criticisms of Obama and his agenda. If the man
were white, the argument about Obamacare wouldn't change one iota, at
least not for conservatives.
For liberals, it's not so clear. Since Democrats steamrolled the
Affordable Care Act into law, its defenders have acted as if any
opposition to the law is irrational, extremist, absurd and, of course,
racist. They gave themselves license to dismiss all inconvenient facts
simply by impugning the motives of those who point them out.
Just days before HealthCare.gov crashed on takeoff, Majority Leader Harry
Reid (D-Nev.), who has often suggested that the president's opponents are
bigots, railed on the Senate floor: "Obamacare has been the law for four
years. Why don't they get a life and talk about something else?"
"We are going to accept nothing that relates to Obamacare," he added. "Let
them find something else to be weird about."
In recent polls, 58 percent of Americans have a negative view of the
health-care law, 54 percent disapprove of Obama and 50 percent think he
isn't honest or trustworthy. Are they all racists and weirdos?
Winfrey, a billionaire twice over thanks in no small part to her
popularity among whites, told the BBC that the older generation of bigots
may "just have to die" before America can get past racism. In 2012, 60
percent of voters under 30 voted for Obama. Now more than half view him
negatiope Winfrey doesn't think they need to die too.

– A retired Army general is calling for the “forced resignations” of
President Obama, other administration officials and the leadership of
Congress for the direction they’re taking the nation, his list of
grievances including the systematic political purge of hundreds of
senior military officers in the U.S. military.
Retired Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely told WND he is calling for
nationwide rallies and protests to demand the resignations and added
that a peaceful “civil uprising is still not out of question.”
In his capacity as chairman of the organization Stand Up America,
Vallely issued what he termed a “National Call to Action” to force the
resignations of Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid, D-Nev., Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., House
Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi,
D-Calif.
Vallely, formerly the deputy commanding general of Pacific Command,
said the current crop of leaders must be forced to resign by the “demand
resignation” process, which he explained requires massive grass-roots
protests and social networking. As an example, he cited the public and
media pressure that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
Impeachment, Vallely said, is not a viable option because of “partisan politics.”
“Our federal government continues down the path of destroying
America,” he said. “Americans must now stand up and put America back on
the right track.”
In issuing his national call to action, Vallely said the federal
government has not subsided in “sucking the oxygen” out of America.
“And we call to action all branches of government to do your
constitutional duties and not be led astray in the cultural and moral
decay of America. We have witnessed far too many lies,” he said, as well
as “deception and the corruption of the republic.”
Vallely reminds Americans that the Declaration of Independence itself
states that whenever “any Form of Government becomes destructive to
these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and
to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles
and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem more
likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”
Vallely said the nation he long defended is self-destructing “before
our very eyes,” because of “our inept and incompetent leadership in
Washington.”
“The battle is on,” he added, “and we shall not retreat.”
Vallely, who has also served as a Fox News military analyst, claimed
the Obama administration and leadership of Congress have been leading
the nation down a road of “progressive socialism.”
The retired general said the U.S. faces a battle that is unknown to
generations of Americans, and that the fate of the nation is “now in our
hands” to enforce the Constitution and “severely limit the federal
government and its out-of-control spending.”
He said conditions today are approaching those of the time of the
inaugural address of President Abraham Lincoln, who said at the time
that people have a “right to rise up and shake off the existing
government and form a new one.”
“Shake off,” said Vallely, “means replacing government leaders.” He
argued America today bears “many similarities to the fall of Rome.”
America, he added, is not immune to collapse or even revolution, which
he notes “has happened many times in history. … External and internal
threats could precipitate this as well as any financial collapse.”
Vallely added that “politics as usual will not be effective or sufficient enough to turn the country around.”
“We are in a war for America,” he told WND, adding that Sen. Ted
Cruz, R-Texas, and Dr. Ben Carson, the noted brain surgeon and author of
“America the Beautiful” and other bestselling books have made similar observations.
Americans have had enough, he said, and the Obama White House and
identifiable members of Congress “must now depart from a progressive
socialist and treasonous death march and bankrupting the country beyond
expectations.”

administration, a toll estimated at one officer per week. Indeed, Vallely has been very outspoken to what he calls a “purge” of the U.S. military by the Obama administration — with a stunning nine generals and flag officers relieved of duty this year alone.
WND has been reporting on the surge of firings, suspensions and dismissals, for which Vallely has assigned
a good portion of the blame to Obama’s close adviser, Valerie Jarrett.
Rampant “political correctness” due to her influence, Vallely tells WND,
is now permeating the military and negatively affecting everyone from
top generals to the ranks of the enlisted.
According to Vallely, Obama is “intentionally weakening and gutting
our military, Pentagon and reducing the U.S. as a superpower, and anyone
in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.” Vallely equated the current
treatment of U.S. senior military officers watching over what is said
and done among mid-level officers and enlisted ranks to that of the
“political commissars from the Communist era.” He also told WND that the
White House won’t investigate its own officials, but finds it easy to
fire military commanders “who have given their lives for their country.”
“Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they
have bought into Obama’s ideology,” Vallely said. “The White House

unload senior officers whom he believes have become “political pawns”

four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved

Bush, tells WND it is worrying that four-star generals are being retired
at the rate that has occurred under Obama.
“Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of
four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved
for cause,” Boykin said. “I believe there is a purging of the military.
The problem is worse than we have ever seen.”
There is yet more fraud surrounding the undocumented
usurper currently occupying the people’s house. Given that Barack
Obama’s entire existence is based on a fraud, how can it surprise that
his re-election was based on yet another?
From his birth narrative to his life in Indonesia to his youth spent
in Hawaii to his Social Security numbers to his Selective Service
application to his noms de guerre to his college life to his authorship
to his “Hope and Change” to his “If you like your healthcare, you can
keep it”: Everything about the man is a fraud.
For four years, he perpetuated the lie that people who had health
insurance they were happy with could keep it. He knew every time he said
it that it was a lie. Now we know that the unemployment numbers that
came out in the September before the election were lies as well. And the
lies were made based on orders from above.
The employment numbers were manipulated. But they were manipulated
far and away more than the normal, “acceptable” manipulation that occurs
month to month. And what’s worse, the Census Bureau knew they were
manipulated and did nothing about it; and the orders for the
manipulation came from the upper echelons of the Bureau.
As I and others have said many times, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’
employment numbers are cooked. The Bureau doesn’t count all the
unemployed as being unemployed. They only count the unemployed seeking
work. Once a worker drops out of the workforce, he is no longer
considered unemployed.
The Census Bureau is under contract with the Labor Department to
conduct household surveys to help determine the “official” unemployment
rate. Given that Federal Reserve money printing is ostensibly based on
what Helicopter Ben Bernanke determines is an acceptable or unacceptable
level of employment, the unemployment numbers are crucial to U.S.
financial policy. They were also crucial to Obama’s election,
apparently.
According to The New York Post,
as the November 2012 election drew near, Census employees were
deliberately fabricating employment surveys. That accounts for the drop
in unemployment from 8.1 percent in August 2012 to 7.8 percent in
September — a number that most pundits thought at the time was unrealistic. Turns out it was.

Obama knew…Kathleen Sebelius knew…they all knew as far back as last March that
the ObamaCare website…Healthcare.gov…had problems…major problems…yet
they kept moving forward and promoting a site that simply did NOT work
while telling ‘We the People’ that all was well and on schedule.

Obama runs the gamut of all three as a law the majority of the American people do NOT want, (57+% do
NOT want ObamaCare in any form and 71% at least want it delayed) need,
or can afford, is being shoved down our throats…shoved down
our throats as we’re told we must go shopping for health insurance on a
site that is broken beyond repair...or else we'll be hit with a penalty even though we have NOTHING to do with the site's problems.
And so the broken record spins on and on and on...ad nauseum
“I was NOT informed directly that the website does NOT work,” so said
Barack HUSSEIN Obama during his anything but an 'apology tour' while he
made the media rounds. Now read those words again and pay close
attention to the context of the way the word ‘directly’ is used.
Directly…Obama said he was NOT told ‘directly’ but he was indeed told
for ‘directly’ only means that Sebelius herself did NOT tell him…it does
NOT mean that someone else involved with the site did NOT tell him.
But the truth is that according to documents released yesterday by the
House Energy and Commerce Committee, Obama and those in his
administration were indeed told last March that there were potential
risks with the implementation of the Healthcare.gov site and this in
turn forced Obama mouthpiece Jay Carney to allude to the fact that Obama might
indeed have been briefed back in March.
So now it’s time for Obama and his minion to devise yet another LIE to
cover for the LIE that he did NOT know the site was such a mess…which in
turn was devised to cover for his LIE about the cancellation
notices…which covers for his BIG LIE about the fact that ObamaCare was
actually designed to fail so he could get what he’s wanted all along…a
single-payer system of health care…a single-payer system so he could
further tighten the grip on ‘We the People.’
But thankfully, Obama’s web of LIES is starting to unravel. In fact,
McKinsey & Co…the independent consulting firm that waded through
200+ documents and interviewed HHS staff to identify problems that might
rise before the official October 1st rollout…told in a report of giving
administration and HHS officials briefings last March in relation to
issues that could affect ObamaCare’s debut…issues including insufficient
testing, evolving requirements, and that ObamaCare relied too heavily
on outside contractors.
But in spite of all the problems with the website’s official
rollout…paramount of which is that the website simply does NOT
work…problems that the site is ‘hacker-friendly’ causing people to be
subjected to identity theft and fraud…problems with proposed monthly
rates so high that it scares most who peruse the site to run away…the
first enrollment deadline of December 15th for those who want insurance
coverage beginning January 1, 2014, is fast approaching and Obama still
will NOT agree to a delay.
So when December 15th does arrive with enrollment numbers NOT met what
happens then…I’ll tell you what…Obama has another happy little surprise
in store to screw ‘We the People’ yet again.
And that happy little surprise is that to assure that his namesake
law works, Obama had a clause buried within its 2000+ pages of nonsense
that says the government can bailout insurance companies who do NOT make
enough money because of all law’s mandatory coverage requirements. In a
provision called ‘risk corridors’ that’s used to mitigate an insurer’s
pricing risk...basically protecting insurance companies from unexpected
monetary changes in the marketplace…a safety net for insurers during the
first three years of ObamaCare’s implementation designed to protect the
marketplace if more expensive patients (meaning older sicker Americans)
sign up than the so-wanted younger healthier sign-ups. This means if
costs end up being higher, the government pays part of the difference
and if costs are lower the insurance company pays the
government…translating to its ‘We the People’s’ taxpayer dollars that
will be forced to bail out the insurance companies.
So while Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) yesterday introduced a bill to
remove this clause, Obama and crew continue to squawk that the risk
corridors provision is important for avoiding the so-called
‘death-spiral’ of high costs and low participation that could
jeopardize…if NOT outright kill the law. A lack of risk protection could
cause insurers NOT to participate in the exchanges, or raise their
premium rates even higher than they’ve already been raised…meaning more
people will simply choose to pay the penalty than to buy insurance they
simply cannot afford to buy let alone to maintain.
And the nightmare that is ObamaCare continues to wreak havoc on
our economy…our business communities…and on each and every American NOT
only cancelled from carriers and policies they were happy with but on
ALL taxpaying Americans who are now being forced to pay and carry the
burden for the mere 5% of Americans who currently are
uninsured…Americans who can walk into any emergency room in this country
and NOT get turned away.
And while the ObamaCare nightmare continues on there is a way to wake up from it…REPEAL the whole damn thing and be done with it...and then vote out each and every Democrat who voted this monstrosity in BEFORE they even bothered to read it...period.
