Democrats
failed to come to a compromise on how to move forward with both the ban
and a police funding initiative on Wednesday. Instead of being
scheduled for a vote by the end of this week, they have pushed both
bills past the August recess. Read more here.

The groups argued that the agreement, titled the Inflation Reduction Act, will increase pressure on small businesses that have already struggled to stay afloat amid record-high prices and slowing economic growth.
The legislation was unveiled after weeks of negotiations between Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who said it would guarantee corporations and the wealthy "pay their fair share."
"We
all know that taxes roll downhill," Alfredo Ortiz, president of the Job
Creators Network, told FOX Business in an interview. "So, it's either
going to be an increase in cost and, ultimately, in prices to the
consumer, which is inflationary, or it's going to be a job killer. At
the end of the day, you have a few levers to pull." Read more and see videos here.

President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security finally caved and agreed to close the border barrier gaps in Arizona that pose many security challenges for Border patrol.
"After many months of pushing," Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz) announced the first step to fixing the crisis at the southern border along his state lines has been secured.
You know things are bad when even a Democrat is calling on his own party to do something that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, shrank by 0.9% on an annualized basis in the three-month period from April through June, the Commerce Department said in its first reading of the data on Thursday. Refinitiv economists expected the report to show the economy had expanded by 0.5%.
Economic output already fell over the first three months of the year, with GDP tumbling 1.6%, the worst performance since the spring of 2020, when the economy was still deep in the throes of the COVID-induced recession. Read more and see video here.

China recently fired a warning by demanding we halt the latest arms shipment to Taiwan. Joe Biden caved to such threats and urged Speaker Nancy Pelosi to postpone her trip. Congressional Republicans and Democrats told Joe to shove it on that one. If all goes wrong, and by recent history, it should be nothing short of a disaster, the nation suffered a one-two punch today.
217 Democrats Just Went On-Record Saying They Don’t Support Border Patrol Agents Spencer Brown – Townhall Tipsheet
Democrats in the House of Representatives took both their opposition to law enforcement and their support for a lawless border to a new low on Tuesday evening when they blocked consideration of a mere resolution expressing Congress’ support for the heroic border patrol agents who are fighting to keep America safe — despite the chaos caused by Biden’s border crisis and baseless smears from his administration. The resolution from GOP congressman Michael Guest of Mississippi is simple:
Expressing continued support for all U.S. Border Patrol agents who carry out the important mission of securing our borders.
The resolution goes on to explain the baseless smear of border agents that the Biden administration and Democrats engaged in against the agents accused of whipping illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S. via the Rio Grande without…Read more here.

The report detailed the actions of several Federal Reserve employees known as the "P-Network," whose foreign travel patterns and academic backgrounds raised concerns internally.
One of these employees was detained four times during a 2019 trip to Shanghai as Chinese officials "threatened the individual’s family unless the individual provided them with economic information and assistance."
Other Federal Reserve employees also had "close ties" to the People’s Bank of China, Chinese academic organizations, and the state-owned Xinhua News Agency, according to the report. Read more and see video here.
Now, the FBI is running amok again with Hunter Biden stories. Whistleblowers have been coming out of the woodwork to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), alleging…Read more here.

"We're not gonna be in a recession in my way," Biden claimed. "We, uh, the unemployment rate is still one of the lowest we've had in human history, it's in the 3.6 [percent] area, uh, we still find ourselves with people investing. Uh, my hope is that we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth, and, uh, so we'll see some coming down. But I don't think we're going to, uh, God willing, I don't think we're going to see a recession."
This has been a consistent narrative from the White House, as
it has sought to change the definition of what a recession is, which is
typically thought of as two quarters of negative GDP growth. Read more and see videos and tweets here.
Known as “got aways,” sources within the Department of Homeland Security told different reporters about the drastic increase of “got aways” this fiscal year.
Since fiscal year 2021, which was marked by the start of the Biden presidency, there have been close to one million known “got aways.” Law enforcement agencies at the southern stress these numbers are only the ones who are known to have been able to avoid apprehension and the real number of “got aways” are estimated to be much higher. Because they are not intercepted by law enforcement, it is hard to say definitively who has been able to get away since Border Patrol agents have been bogged…Read more here.

Recessions refer to two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.
In a blog post, the council of economic advisers says that two consecutive quarters of falling GDP doesn't mean the country is in a recession.
"What is a recession? While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle," the blog post states.
Citing figures from the National Bureau of Economic Research, the post states that their "recession indicator variables" have "exhibited strong growth in the U.S. economy since the start of the pandemic, and have continued to expand through the first half of this year."
Even
if the Bureau of Economic Analysis' advance estimate of the second
quarter GDP shows a negative number, the blog post says the country is
likely not in a recession. Read more and see video here.
Decertify Biden’s 2020 victory, says Wisconsin Assembly election committee leader Daniel Chaitin / Washington Examiner
Election committee leader Janel Brandtjen, a Republican endorsed by former President Donald Trump, released a statement on Friday prompting a rebuke from the legislator’s counterpart in the state Senate.
“Fair and honest elections are the cornerstone of our democracy and we know that the 2020 presidential election was neither fair, nor transparent,” Brandtjen said in a news release posted on Facebook. “Tyranny is at Wisconsin’s door.”
Brandtjen said she would join fellow state Rep. Tim Ramthun, a Republican candidate for governor, in pushing to overturn the last presidential election and dismissed the naysayers. “We have been told for months now that decertification is impossible, meaning there is no downside to cheating in Wisconsin elections,” Brandtjen said. “How many more times do we need to endure this election injustice?” Read more here.
