New Emails Show John Kerry Blocked FBI From Making Arrests on Iranian Terrorists to Protect Iran Deal
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

Everyone knows Obama didn’t want to bomb Iran, which was becoming the only option to slow their nuclear weapons program unless a deal was struck. That infamous deal, which became Obama’s signature foreign policy achievement, did next to nothing to slow Tehran’s ambitions to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Guy wrote extensively about the deal’s shortfalls, and now we have a new chapter in the annals of Obama’s failed foreign policy: the FBI was muzzled from arresting suspect Iranian agents and terrorists to avoid mucking up the Iran deal negotiations.

Fox News obtained documents showing that in 2015, John Kerry’s State Department vigorously stymied the FBI from doing its job regarding arresting individuals who posed a threat to national security. A whistleblower has come forward with these allegations (via Fox News):

The Obama-Biden State Department "actively interfered" to prevent the FBI from executing arrest warrants on individuals illegally in the United States who were allegedly supporting Iranian financial efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction, whistleblowers told Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson. Read more, see letter, and emails here.

Trump’s map edge: Biden has tougher path to victory, veteran Dem adviser says

Just over six months from Nov. 5, longtime Democratic adviser Doug Sosnik tells Axios that while either candidate can win, President Biden has the narrower, tougher path to 270 electoral college votes, for three reasons.

Why it matters: Biden has been rising in polls since the State of the Union address. But Democrats continue to sweat their chances in the state-by-state math that determines U.S. presidents.

  1. The electoral college favors Republicans: The last two Republican presidents were first elected despite losing the popular vote.
  2. Biden can no longer count on carrying Michigan, which voted overwhelmingly Democratic in the past three election cycles.
  3. Biden’s 2020 victories in the Sunbelt battleground states — Arizona, Nevada and Georgia — were due to his overwhelming support from young and non-white voters. Polling shows Biden has suffered a significant erosion with these voters during his presidency. Read more here.
