Op-ed:
Socialism, Commonalities, and Lessons Not Learned

The goal of Socialism is Communism.”                         - Vladimir Lenin, revolutionary founder of the Russian Communist Party (the Bolsheviks), and first head of the Soviet Union (USSR).

Three men...one was a true dictator in every sense of the word; one worked for eight long years to “transform” and undermine the very country he was elected to serve and protect; and the last is but a whiny little “nepo baby” who has never held what amounts to a real job in his life, and who now is knowingly and willingly planning for America's largest city's ultimate demise.

Three men from different walks of life, and yet they are three men whose backgrounds share two key commonalities...commonalities overlooked by those caught up in the hype and vitriol that these men surely spewed.

So what exactly allowed these three men...Fidel Castro, Barack Obama, and now Zohran Mamdani...to become the political powerhouses and amass the power that they did? First, all three men shared not only a deep seated inner quest for power coupled with an all-consuming need for control, but also saw the ground work for what became both their political beginnings and their political legacies being born while they were students in college.

And second, these men also developed and then nurtured what was their charismatic personalities while in college. And it was via charisma alone...as in their ability to attract, charm, influence, and inspire others through what the public deemed to be their personal appeal (physical appeal included) along with their shared excellent communication skills...that helped these three men negate what should have been the people's use of simple “common sense.”

And even if their respective supporters had but a mere semblance of “common sense,” coupled with what is the logical “cause and effect” reality of what were but three cleverly crafted, and ever so infamous political facades, these three men might never have gained the power that they did...or in Mamdani's case the power that he will have come this January 1st...or caused the seemingly unfixable damage that they did.

So let's briefly start with Fidel Castro, and while not an American, he and his successors have been a thorn in America's side for decades. And like Obama and Mamdani, Castro's political involvement begin while a student at the University of Havana, where he participated in “resistance movements” while becoming a lawyer. Running unsuccessfully for office before Batista's 1952 military coup, Castro rose to power via a “guerrilla campaign”...a campaign promising the people everything, albeit socialist style. And when he overthrew Batista in 1959, Castro, was not only deeply entrenched in communist ideologies, but was a communist dictator sitting but 90 miles off America's shores. And when his brother Raul succeeded him, President Obama sought to normalize diplomatic relations with now communist Cuba.

Also briefly, the second man in this trio of infamy is none other than Barack Hussein Obama himself, the man who not only became involved in politics while in college, but who joined a number of Black Student organizations, and took part in anti-apartheid activities. After college and law school, Barack Obama became a community organizer;” was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996; became a U.S. senator in 2005; then sashayed himself into the national spotlight when in 2004 he delivering the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention where Bill Clinton was nominated. And while basking in his new found media fame, Obama was “anointed” as America's first black president* in 2008, and again in 2012.

And lastly, the third man who also became politically involved as a college student is “proud” Democrat Socialist (read communist here) Zohran Mamdani who not only co-founded his college's chapter of the “Students for Justice in Palestine...the very organization behind almost all the anti-Israel protests on U.S. college campuses...while also advocating for academic and cultural boycotts of Israel (BDS). After graduation, Mamdani took an active part in numerous nationally recognized progressive organizations before he became a New York assembly man; and now the first muslim and socialist elected mayor of New York City. Guess foolish New Yorkers learned nothing from the disaster that has become London.

Three dangerous men...Fidel Castro, Barack Obama, and Zohran Mamdani... three men sharing the same socialist and to some degree communist ideologies...with Castro's reign having crossed over into outright communism, and with some of Mamdani's upcoming plans for New York City coming pretty damn close as well.

And while Barack Obama did not officially cross the Communist line in his two terms as president, not to be forgotten is that as a “community organizer” Obama worked closely with avowed socialists whose backgrounds encompassed both the Communist Party itself and/or what is referred to as “independent Marxists.” Also, know that the “Communist Party USA” campaigned for Obama during his successful 2004 Illinois Senate race, and supported, albeit somewhat quietly, his two presidential runs, and considered him “a friend to the party” while he was in office.

Socialism and communism were deep seated ideologies locked within the consciousness of these three men while in college, Three men who when assuming power continued to promise the people any and everything while in reality delivered nothing but chaos, failed economic policies...in Mamdani's case soon to come failed policies...coupled with law and order run amok.

And their actions were all overseen courtesy of a not so veiled demigod hand of sorts while their personal pockets continued to overflow with monies garnered off the misery of those who sold their souls for, in Obama and Mamdani's case, a continuing generational “free ride;” while in Castro's case the Cuban people bought into his now communist regime's attempt at “forced equalization” of what was then deemed to be a lack of a true “middle class.” Remember, Cuba under Batista was basically but not fully a two class system...one was either wealthy or one was poor with a small middle class existing in pockets scattered here and there to become nonexistent once Castro assumed power.

Three men who not only capitalized on and cleverly manipulated the support of their respective public to gain power, but three men whose commonality was not only a shared applauding of taking from the rich to give to and subsidize those who count on making more money by “being poor for a living” then by actually working, but people whose continuing support these men then could count on as long as they held on to the reigns of political power. And how did Castro and Obama accomplish this...how does Mamdani hope to accomplish this...simply by embraced the time proven old adage that “no one will bite the hand of those who feeds, houses, and clothes them.”

Simply, while Fidel Castro embraced socialism at first and moved very swiftly on to in-your-face communism; Barack Obama pretended to be a Democrat with some socialist leanings while maintaining friendships and close ties to the Communist Party USA; while Zohran Mamdani continues claiming that he remains a loyal and very proud “Democrat Socialist” when in reality he's nursing future presidential aspirations as his ego has now fully embraced the idea that he has become the left's poster boy, and seemingly best chance for their socialist America dream to come true.

And while all three men did openly embrace varying degrees of socialism while in college, the fact remains that socialism, when left to its own devices, either tends to outright fail or morph into that which is akin to outright communism, but without the actual c-word being attached to it. Such is the future, I believe, that Mamdani has planned for New York City as he and his socialist driven team works to make the “Big Apple” ground zero from which socialism can then start to spread outward nation wide...spread to the point where both state and class distinctions become but a thing of the past.

Socialism is but a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.”                                - British Conservative Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill

And so serious has Mamdani's spewed socialist rhetoric been taken by Republicans and conservatives alike, that Mamdani's self-professed political identity...an identity who desires to become but a socialist “demigod” of sorts...has now drawn direct comparisons to Fidel Castro's once socialist dream morphing into but another communist dictatorship, especially with knowing history's proven fact that socialism is but the transitional phase between capitalism and communism. And for this reason alone, last month we saw House Republicans passing a resolution condemning what they rightfully called the “horrors of socialism,” while they listed Fidel Castro among other “socialist ideologues,” in a move seen by the far left as a “political jab” at Mamdani's so-called rising political profile.

But know this was no mere Republican “political jab” against one person or even the Democrat party itself, but was an all out warning to “We the People” regarding what the far left had not only been planning all along, but had already started implementing, as in our beloved America becoming a socialist nation with abject communism not a future impossibility.

In fact, this very scenario can be witnessed by not just the growing socialist movement now embracing certain “blue” areas of our country today, but by us seeing an overall nationwide increase in anti-government protests replete with community based organizing...shades of Obama come quickly and ominously to mind.

And what must not be forgotten, simply downplayed, or even deliberately lost within all the political rhetoric now being spewed, is the fact that socialism always seems to morph into poverty coupled with political repression in what then becomes what is a totally classless and stateless society endlessly adrift on a boat sadly going nowhere.

This is the true wish of today's Democrat party and those who are now doing her bidding, for not only has the groundwork already been laid by the likes of Fidel Castro and Barack Obama...the president whose deepest wish was to “fundamentally transform America” into a socialist nation...but now sees the torch being passed to Zohran Mamdani, the first outwardly socialist mayor-elect of New York City, with others like him waiting and salivating in the wings.

But what is most unsettling of all in this shoved down our throats socialist discourse is the fact that we as a nation have willingly allowed not only history to repeat itself, but that we sat back and watched those nations currently embracing socialism being on the precipice of abject failure. Is this what we truly want for our beloved America...is this what we are slowly allowing to happen here? Unless we stop this Democrat initiated socialist movement while it's still somewhat in its infancy stage ...unless tangible actions are taken now to do so...what is the Democrats push towards socialism could well morph into Lenin's truth of socialism being but a step towards communism.

Fidel Castro knew this truth and succeeded...Obama knew it but thankfully failed...Zohran Mamdani knows it as well, but in today's America seemingly being driven by actions of hate and violence, Mamdani, or someone like him, could succeed where Obama failed. Just something to think about as commonalities shared do tend to breed strange yet dangerously successful bedfellows...case closed.
