Even Great Presidents Make Mistakes...Part Two

...And that's not all, for while Qatar and Putin's Russia are not “formally recognized” as allies, they do nurture a growing strategic partnership along with shared political and economic ties...ties based upon a diverse range of issues including, but not limited to, energy, trade, and the allowing of both countries to have a hand in profiting from Middle East regional conflicts.

Qatar...no matter it technically being a U.S. ally...no matter us having the “AL-Udeid Air Base” (the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East) in Qatar for over two decades...Qatar still cannot and should not be trusted as a main player in the still ongoing Israel/Hamas peace process let alone in the Middle East region itself. And why...because with Qatar having adopted what's called an “activist foreign policy,'' it allows them to actually play both sides against the middle as they continue to help fund certain terrorist aligned nations, even if its under the radar so to speak, while at the same time playing the part of being a peace negotiator. And not to be forgotten is that the UAE and all important Saudi Arabia both share a deep disdain for Qatar. Why so... because Qatar is the main financier of the Muslim Brotherhood...Read entire article here.

Witkoff holds additional talks with Ukraine— and without Rubio — ahead of Moscow trip
Caitlin Doornbos / NEW YORK POST

Trump special envoy Steve Witkoff held a second round of talks — without Secretary of State Marco Rubio — with a top Ukrainian negotiator who previously led Witkoff to believe Kyiv was willing to accept a peace proposal highly favorable to Russia.

Witkoff, who will meet Kremlin officials in Moscow Tuesday, spoke with Secretary of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov after a sitdown involving full US and Ukrainian delegations a day earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Monday.

Witkoff previously met Umerov in Miami last month, at which time the two discussed a 28-point plan that would have seen Kyiv agree to several red-line measures, such as US recognition of some Ukrainian territory as Russian — including land Moscow has been unable to occupy over 11 years of war.

A revised 19-point plan developed by Ukraine and the US in Geneva last week walked back that point and left territorial matters for President Trump and Zelensky to work out.

Trump says he’s chosen next Fed chair as affordability pressures rise
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sent shortlist to president after interviewing five candidates

President Donald Trump said over the weekend that he has chosen the next Federal Reserve chair, a decision unfolding as affordability pressures continue to mount.

"I know who I am going to pick, yeah. We’ll be announcing it," Trump told reporters on Sunday evening.

Likely frontrunners include Trump's top economic advisor Kevin Hassett, current Federal Reserve Board Governor Christopher Waller and ex-Fed board governor Kevin Warsh. Hassett told "Fox & Friends Weekend" that he would be "happy to serve" if tapped to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell

Powell, who was appointed by Trump in 2017, is slated to complete his term in May 2026.

The looming appointment comes as persistently high living costs test his administration's economic agenda

The Fed plays a central role in affordability by setting interest rates that influence mortgage costs, credit card rates, car loans and, ultimately, the pace of inflation. Read more and see video here.
