The decision by Utah District Judge Dianna Gibson on which map she chooses could determine if Democrats have a fighting chance next year of flipping one of the state's current four Republican-controlled U.S. House seats.
Utah is the latest state to find itself smack in the middle of the high-stakes redistricting showdown between President Donald Trump and Republicans versus Democrats to shape the midterm battlefield in the fight for the House majority.
The faceoff over redistricting in Utah, a state Trump carried by nearly 22 points in last year's presidential election, was triggered by a lawsuit by the League of Women Voters of Utah and Mormon Women for Ethical Government, which prompted Gibson to throw out the state's current congressional map. ...A “nepo baby” indeed for Zohran Mamdani has failed at almost everything he previously attempted. For example, the now mayor failed at being a rapper (gag me please), a musician; and even a low level political campaign manager. In fact, since 2014, the year Mamdani graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in African Studies, he has only been gainfully employed for a mere three years. Says a lot now doesn't it...says a lot the media all but ignored... says a lot about Mamdani not having any tangible qualifications to be mayor...says a lot about the man who considers himself to be but a political “demigod” of sorts. How so... because Zohran Mandani fits the very definition of one, as in he who seeks political support and power by appealing to popular desires, prejudices, and fears rather than by using rational arguments and tangible realities to attract supporters. "All money left over from the $2000 payments made to low and middle income USA Citizens, from the massive Tariff Income pouring into our Country from foreign countries, which will be substantial, will be used to SUBSTANTIALLY PAY DOWN NATIONAL DEBT," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
With the nation’s debt hovering just north of $38 trillion, it’s unclear how tariff revenue could really chip away at it.
