Op-ed:
On Trump's 20-Point Middle East Peace Plan                        By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor

President Trump's “20-Point Plan to End Israel's War in Gaza” is indeed being proposed with all good intentions for no one has tried harder to secure Middle East peace than has President Donald Trump, something he must be applauded for. And while his proposed plan is being presented with all good intentions it could actually, in my opinion, be the vehicle by which Israel can rightfully finish this war. Why so... because the feasibility of said plan's contents comes into question as Hamas will never abide by this plan's tenets as currently written, and besides Iran will not allow them to do so.

Most astute persons know this to be fact, but the question that should remain is, was this plan, as presented, deliberately designed to fail...fail so as to allow Israel to rightfully finish the job that Hamas started? I personally believe that this is indeed the case as summed up in my article's closing.

But before I delve into Trump's proposed peace plan point by point let me start by saying that I do have some overall objections to the plan itself, again as presented. How so? First, I strongly believe this plan sees way too many concessions being made by Israel. Second, there are way too many other Arab nations involved all with their own agendas unrelated to peace. Third, no western country who siding with the Palestinian/terrorists call for statehood during the UN's recent session should have any say in said plan for they have publicly shown where their decided loyalties lie. In fact, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rightfully condemned those very UN states by vowing that, “Israel will not allow you to shove a terror state down our throats.” And fifth, I strongly believe Hamas and those of their kind must be eliminated in full for there to be any chance for a lasting Middle East peace to take hold.

To sum those five points up, it's my humble opinion that peace in the Middle East can only be garnered by shows of strength NOT through any sort of what would be akin to capitulation.

So now here's why, point by point, I believe Trump's peace plan will simply not work or might actually be a ruse to speed up Hamas' final elimination. My responses to each point are in red.

Trump's full 20-point plan to end Israel's war in Gaza:

    1. Gaza will be a de-radicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors. Pretty words but pray tell who can 100% guarantee that...NO ONE!

    2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough. Oh really...how quickly it's been forgotten that Israel gave Gaza to the so-called Palestinians decades ago, and that they willingly voted Hamas into power. The suffering of the Palestinians is by their hand alone.

    3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal. This sounds good on paper, but neither Hamas nor any terrorist group can be trusted to abide by this or any plan as their actions alone continue to speak louder than any words put to paper.

    4. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned. Sadly, I assume that by now maybe only a handful, if even that, are still alive, and if so they're in very bad shape, Trump and BiBi knows this, as well as their knowing that the “rules of war” have no meaning to Hamas savages. Hamas is more concerned about running out of human “bargaining chips” than they are about returning them home alive...an important fact that must NOT be overlooked.

    5. Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1,700 Gazans who were detained after October 7, 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans. A disproportionate number of those being released is again involved, with Israel actually being forced to release a slew of what most likely are future terrorists-in-waiting.

    6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. First, there should be NO amnesty for any involved in the October 7th happenings and second, this idea is a joke as Hamas has broken EVERY ceasefire to date and will do so again...it's ingrained within their very being to do so!

    7. Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with what was included in the January 19, 2025 agreement. My questions are, where is the guarantee Hamas will NOT steal/appropriate said aid as they have done numerous times in the past, and what will happen if they are caught doing so yet again?

    8. Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties. I believe an Israel military presence must be present at all times to make sure no weapons can be suck in as aid.

    9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, with President Trump as chair of a supervising “Board of Peace” to oversee said committee, which is set to include former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and others. I can see Trump overseeing the new governance, but NO other foreign entities should be involved as this is a war between Israel and Hamas/Iran, and Israel should be calling the shots NOT foreign governments...especially those unfriendly to Israel...as in those who voted to reward Hamas with a Palestinian state at the recent UN meeting.

    10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created by convening a panel of experts who have helped birth some of the thriving modern miracle cities in the Middle East. Who exactly are these so-called “experts,” and will the stuck in a 6th century mindset of most Palestinians be able to even comprehend what would be the change to modernization.

    11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries. Who exactly will be involved in said zone, why and how much of a part will they play?

    12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza. Why so as these are the same people who turned Gaza into what amounts to a slum in the first place,

    13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. And we hold Hamas to this when all their actions prove otherwise. And besides, Hamas will do Iran's bidding as long as they are Iran's proxy.

    14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people. And how will this be done exactly and can Israel count on it's neighbors to keep to this not. I think not as Israel's neighbors have done nothing to help Israel since her inception.

    15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. This is just a version of UN lite and we know how well that has worked out in the past. Sarcastically said of course.

    16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will withdraw. Simply, an IDF presence must always rermain in Gaza to some degree if for no other reason than to assure the Israeli people that all is on the 'up and up.'

    17. In the event Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the scaled-up aid operation, will proceed in the terror-free areas handed over from the IDF to the ISF. This truly is the most likely scenario to come for like with most islamist promises made they are done so with fingers crossed behind one's back.

    18. An interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis. Simply, you cannot change centuries of indoctrinated hate especially when those doing the hating wish both Israeli's dead and the nation wiped off the face of the map.

    19. While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood. We are talking about literally decades of rebuilding with the bottom line being that in rebuilding Gaza...the home of the enemy and perpetrators of the war...are being rewarded. Simply, Palestinian statehood itself cannot ever be allowed to happen.

    20. The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence. Dialogue and diplomacy can only accomplish said means to an end of a given war when the victor is able to garner their rightfully won 'spoils of war.' Trump's peace plan as it stands now...in my opinion...still to some degree rewards those who instigated said war while Jew-hatred and misplaced anger against Israel continues to grow day by day.

So here in closing let me first say that even if Hamas were to accept Trump's peace plan...and the countdown for them to do so has already begun...it would only be done with the obligatory fingers crossed behind their backs as those like Hamas do not want peace as it goes against their ultimate goal of removing Israel and the Jews from the face of the map. But even if Hamas were to accept said deal now they will soon breach it for agreeing to deals for Hamas simply means they've bought themselves some time to regroup and rearm. And while said plan in its current state has been agreed to by Netanyahu, in my opinion, it was done so more out of loyalty and thanks to President Trump and the U.S. for standing strong and unwavering with the Jewish State of Israel.

And lastly, kudos again must go out to President Trump for the gauntlet he actually did lay down when saying during Monday's meeting and press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu that, “if Hamas fails to live up to the agreement or refuses to accept it, Israel would have his full backing to finish the job against Hamas.” Now that is indeed a forewarning of my aforementioned words “peace garnered through strength”...words that no one should take lightly. Case closed.

We Have Shut Down, Thanks to Chuck Schumer...and It's Off to a Rough Start
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

The Schumer shutdown has begun. Congressional Democrats want $1.5 trillion for illegal alien health care and refunding of National Public Radio. I’m not kidding—they shut down the government for those items. Oh, and to gut the rural health care fund, which they slammed Republicans for starving it of resources, only for the GOP to allocate monies toward it, and now they want it repealed. These aren’t serious people. No doubt, the Schumer shutdown is a catchy phrase. It should be the point of the lance, but then pin them for wanting to give illegal aliens health care.

This move is classic Democrat overreach: they’ve overestimated their hand. The shutdown doesn’t really impact most Americans. Do you know who is? Government workers, who are also likely to be Democratic voters, will not be pleased about being furloughed. Voters don’t want the government to increase spending or shut down. Democrats are now fighting for both, so whoever is leading the political strategy sessions on the Hill for Democrats needs to be fired. Read more, see Xs and videos here.
Trump Remakes the Military: We Aren't Here to Protect Feelings
Katie Pavlich / Townhall Tipsheet

Speaking in unprecedented fashion from Marine Corps Base Quantico Tuesday, President Donald Trump continued to carry out his campaign promise of rebuilding the U.S. military and restoring its mission. The days of political correctness and lowering standards are over.

"We're bringing back a focus on fitness, ability, character, and strength. And that's because the purposes of America's military is not to protect anyone's feelings, it's to protect our republic," Trump said. "We will not be politically correct when it comes to defending American freedom. We will be a fighting and winning machine."

"We must be so strong that no nation will dare challenge us, so powerful that no enemy will dare threaten us, and so capable that no adversary can even think about beating us," he continued. "We're investing tens of billions of dollars in modernizing our nuclear deterrence capabilities like never before, and we've begun construction on what we call the Golden Dome missile defense shield. It will be the most sophisticated in the world." Read more and see videos here.

Trump gives Hamas ‘3 or 4 days’ to accept his Gaza peace deal — or meet a ‘very sad end’
Ronny Reyes / NEW YORK POST
President Trump has given Hamas “three or four days” to agree to his Gaza peace deal or else the Palestinian terror group will face “a very sad end.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump touted his 20-point peace deal as the best way to end the two-year-old conflict in Gaza after Israel agreed to the terms yesterday.

“We’re just waiting for Hamas,” Trump said as he presented his deadline.

“Hamas is either going to be doing it or not, and if it’s not, it’s going to be a very sad end,” he added, noting that there was “not much” room for negotiations.

Qatari mediators said Hamas, which was not involved in the talks that formed the proposal, was currently reviewing the deal in Doha.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said it was still too early to expect a response from the terror group, but he noted that mediators were “optimistic” about the outcome.
