Biden campaign confirms newly surfaced viral video of Joe Biden calling US troops 'stupid bastards,' says remarks were made in jest

A Biden spokesperson says he was joking

The Joe Biden presidential campaign scrambled to explain away a newly surfaced video showing the Democratic candidate calling U.S. troops "stupid bastards" during a visit overseas in 2016.

The video was circulated widely among Biden's critics on social media on Friday afternoon.

The video shows Biden and his wife Jill Biden at a podium addressing military members.

"And I want you to know notwithstanding what you may hear about me, I have incredibly good judgment. One, I married Jill. And two, I appointed Johnson to the academy. I just want you to know that. Clap for that, you stupid bastards," he says on the video.

When It Comes to Senate Democrats, Joe Manchin Shows Why He's The Only Voice of Reason

He’s one of the few Democrats I personally like. He’s a throwback to when this party had some resemblance of reason. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is still a member of the party, though very much beats to his own drum. The irony is that he can do so because his state’s rapidly changing politics permit him to operate in areas that would be frowned upon from voters bases of his more ‘woke’ colleagues. Manchin won the 2010 special election. He was governor of West Virginia but was pro-coal, more anti-abortion than most other Democrats by a long shot, pro-gun, and literally shot the Cap and Trade bill in one of his old ads. You’d think he’s a Republican. Nope—just a Democrat cut from a more conservative cloth. Sure, he might have had some votes that might have been in line with Chuck Schumer and others, but Manchin is a reasonable Democrat. We can work with Manchin for sure and his latest remarks on court-packing and the filibuster only reinforces that notion (via Daily Caller):

Florida AG Moody opens investigation into Bloomberg’s pledge to help felons pay debts

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has opened an investigation into Michael Bloomberg’s pledge to spend $16 million to pay fines and help felons vote in Florida.

This comes shortly after Rep. Matt Gaetz called for the investigation while speaking on Fox News.

Murkowski Backtracks on RBG Vacancy, Killing Democratic Hopes Of Blocking Trump's SCOTUS Nominee

Murkowski Backtracks on RBG Vacancy, Killing Democratic Hopes Of Blocking Trump's SCOTUS Nominee

Total victory is upon us, folks. And some Republicans have managed to get on a path towards redemption with conservatives. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) said he wouldn’t block the nominee. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is a ‘no,’ but as we’ve said before—Maine is an oddball state. She gets a pass. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), a runner up in the biggest pain in the a** contest among the GOP, did initially say that she’s opposed to filling the Supreme Court vacancy left by Ruth Bade Ginsburg, but is now changing her tune. The last justice passed away last Friday making the 2020 election even more interesting. And now, Murkowski is changing her tune (via Alaska Public Media):

If Democrats were counting on Lisa Murkowski to vote against President Trump’s next nominee to the Supreme Court, they should think again.
