By Dick Morris / Dick Morris.com

Now that both conventions are over, the dimensions of the likely Romney triumph are becoming clear. Both through an analysis of the polling and an examination of the rhetoric, the parameters of the victory are emerging.

Start with the polling. It appears that the bulk of the Obama post-convention bounce has been in blue states where his left-oriented convention stirred up the enthusiasm of an already committed group of voters. Among likely voters identified in the Washington Post poll — taken after the conventions — Obama holds a slim, 1-point edge. And an analysis of Rasmussen’s state-by-state likely-voter data indicates a tie in the battleground states (according to Breitbart).

But it’s not really a tie at all. All pollsters are using 2008 models of voter turnout. Some are combining ’04 and ’08 but skewing their samples to ’08 numbers. African-Americans cast 11 percent of the national vote in ’04, but their participation swelled to 13 percent in ’08. These 2 million new black voters backed Obama overwhelmingly. Will they come out in such numbers again? Will college and under-30 voters do so as well? Will Latino turnout be at historic highs? All these questions have to be answered in the affirmative for the polling samples so widely published to be accurate.

For example, when a poll shows an Obama lead among likely voters of, say, 47 percent to 45, it is based on an assumption that blacks will cast 13 percent of the vote. But the lack of enthusiasm among Obama’s base for his candidacy and their doubts about the economy make an 11 percent black turnout more likely. In this event, Romney would actually win 46 percent to 45.

And then there is the enthusiasm gap. All recent polling suggests that Republican and GOP-leaning independents are 13 points more enthusiastic and following the race more closely than their Democratic counterparts. If the grass roots do their job, this will yield a stronger Romney vote.

Finally, when every poll among every sample has Obama below 50 percent of the vote, it is most likely that the undecideds have, in fact, decided not to back his reelection.

But to crawl out of the statistical weeds, let’s examine the state of the partisan dialogue. Former President Clinton made a huge blunder when he accepted the Republican challenge and flatly — and loudly — asserted that we are, in fact, better off than we were four years ago. Polls show that only about 33 percent of voters agree while close to half do not see the world that way.

Finally, both parties seemed happy to embrace the same formulation of the difference between them. Both agreed that the Republican Party is based on a philosophy of individual responsibility. Obama articulated it as “you’re on your own.” Republicans put it differently: “We’ll get government off your back.” Democrats said theirs was a party that would lend you a hand.

Gallup measured these two options and voters chose “leave me alone” over “lend me a hand” by 54 percent to 35.

Over the long haul, these are the questions that will dominate voting intentions. The function of the conventions is to formulate and articulate each party’s view of the world. The fact that they were so similar and that each was willing to trust its fate to the question of “Are you better off?” means that the Romney message will have a very strong advantage. The decision by the Democrats to embrace this choice and not to move to the center will make it impossible for them either to reelect their president or to command a majority in the new Senate.

Obama Administration won't call jihad murder of U.S. ambassador a terror attack

From Jihad Watch

Has the Obama Administration ever called any jihad action a terror attack? Its unwillingness to label the Fort Hood jihad murders an act of terrorism is the most conspicuous example of its reluctance to do so. This one could be even more egregious.

"Obama Administration Still Not Ready to Call Benghazi a Terror Attack," by Patrick Goodenough for CNS News, September 13 (thanks to The Creep):
(CNSNews.com) – Asked directly on Wednesday evening if Tuesday's deadly violence in Libya was "linked to a terror attack" – possibly al-Qaeda – a State Department official demurred:
"Frankly, we are not in a position to speak any further to the perpetrators of this attack. It was clearly a complex attack. We’re going to have to do a full investigation," the unnamed "senior administration official" told a background teleconference briefing.
“We are committed to working with the Libyans both on the investigation and to ensure that we bring the perpetrators to justice. The FBI is already committed to assisting in that, but I just – we’re – it’s just too early to speak to who they were and if they might have been otherwise affiliated beyond Libya."
The State Department also said it was still "operating within the confusion of first reports" from Libya. "Many details of what happened in Benghazi are still unknown or unclear," the official said. "These are first reports, and so the facts could very well change as we get a better understanding."
As the hours passed, however, it became increasingly evident that the worst of Tuesday’s violence in Benghazi had nothing to do with an obscure film insulting Mohammed....
Reports in the independent Libya Herald cited eyewitnesses in Benghazi as saying the attackers were Islamist Salafists, including members of one of the jihadists groups that have emerged in Libya in the aftermath of the fall of Muammar Gaddafi, Ansar al-Sharia....
Just one day before the Benghazi attack, al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a statement marking the 9/11 anniversary, and urging Libyans to avenge the killing in a U.S. drone strike last June of his Libyan-born deputy.
Zawahiri encouraged Libyans to attack Americans, saying al-Libi’s “blood is calling, urging and inciting you to fight and kill the Crusaders.”
Rahman rallying cry
In his message, Zawahiri also demanded the release of Omar Abd al-Rahman, the Egyptian cleric serving a life sentence in a U.S. prison for his involvement in the al-Qaeda-linked 1993 World Trade Center bombing in New York City.
Among the myriad shadowy jihadist groups that have emerged in Libya in recent months is one invoking Rahman’s name and demanding his release.
Over the summer, after a bomb exploded outside the U.S. Consulate compound in Benghazi and a convoy carrying the British ambassador to Libya came under fire, a statement from the “Brigades of the Imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abd al-Rahman” took responsibility for the attacks.
As CNSNews reported earlier, jihadist groups in Egypt threatened early this week to burn down the U.S. Embassy in Cairo if Rahman was not freed. The threat appeared in Egyptian media one day before the embassy was attacked, during a protest over the Mohammed movie.
Calls for freedom for Rahman, a long-time associate of slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and a man revered in jihadist circles, have stepped up since President Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood came to power in Egypt, pledging to work for the septuagenarian cleric’s release.

An open letter of contempt to Barack HUSSEIN Obama
By: Diane Sori

Mr. Obama,

I don’t even know where to begin as the events of the past few days are eating me up inside.

It started on Tuesday, September 11th, the day that changed America and all our lives forever.  A day to remember those lost and those left behind...a day of mourning...a day of tears...a day of pure sorrow...a day ingrained in America’s consciousness for all time...but sadly NOT in yours.

It ended today with the realities that our world is on the ‘eve of destruction’ NOT because of America or America’s actions but because barbarians walk this earth...barbarians fueled on, supported, and encouraged by you, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, and by the washed-up has been Hillary Clinton.

We all know that our Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens and his staff, were brutally MURDERED by extremists angry over a film that dared to speak the truth about the perverted evil so-called prophet, mohammad.  By extremists...NO Mr. Obama...by ALL muslims for where were those to stop them...where were those trying to prevent this atrocity...where were those to condemn these actions...they were nowhere to be found.

And as reports start surfacing about the torture, rape, and defilement of Christopher Stevens and the others, I cannot help wondering where was your strong condemnation Mr. Obama.....where was your anger and passion....where was America's revenge...simply, there was none.  But you had plenty of condemnation for Mitt Romney for calling you to task on this.

And yesterday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had the audacity, had the unmitigated gaul to say that islam is a great religion, that islam respects the fundamental dignity of all human beings.  Mr. Obama, I really didn’t know that rape, torture, beheadings, beastiality, subjugation of women, stonings, murder, and all sorts of other perversions, constitutes respect for the dignity of human beings.

I just didn’t know that...you traitorous, Constitution trampling, miserable excuse of a president!

And in a totally, at this time inappropriate campaign stump, you who slept through the night while our Ambassador was missing and our embassy was under attack, said it was a tough day for YOU because four Americans were killed.  Mr.Obama here’s some news for you...they weren't KILLED...THEY WERE BRUTALLY TORTURED AND MURDERED by your muslim brethren...by your muslim brethren!

And as tough a day as you claim it was for you it was a hell of a lot tougher day for Ambassador Stevens as his body was defiled BEFORE and AFTER he was MURDERED by your muslim brethren, you narcissistic traitor to all America stands for...for all America holds dear.

Now listen up Mr. Obama, sending two warships over to Libya AFTER the event is futile and you are doing it just for show and for your campaign, and ‘We the People’ know it.  If you had had even one modicum of true sympathy for Ambassador Stevens and the others this is what you would have done IMMEDIATELY...First, you would have bombed the living hell out of Libya to send a strong message to the world that anyone or any country who dares to ever do or allow an act such as this will pay the consequences...BIG consequences.  And second, you would have IMMEDIATELY announced that except for Israel...ALL aide and ALL monies, I repeat ALL aide and ALL monies, will be IMMEDIATELY halted to ALL Mid-East countries and to ANY country whose people attack a US embassy or its personnel.

But of course you wouldn’t do this as these a your muslim brethren...the people you side with over America and Americans...the people whose lives mean more to you that the lives of Christopher Stevens and the others...lives brutally snuffed out by your muslim brethren, who by the way, do NOT deserve to walk the earth with civilized men.

Do I sound mad...do I sound angry...do I sound like I’m seething...well I am!  Because of you and your muslim friendly policies four Americans are needlessly dead...because of you the so-called Arab Spring is now a full-fledged Arab winter...because of you Israel has been betrayed...because of you Iran will have a nuke soon...because of you Christians and Jews are being slaughtered all over the world...because of you our beloved America is imploding from within...because of you our military is hurting as you apologize over and over for their actions during a time of war...and because of you countries that used to call us friend now call us enemy...and it’s all because of you...Barack HUSSEIN Obama...the worst president in America’s history.

So while I try to calm down I leave you with this...whatever happens to our country or to our people because of these brutal barbarians that you call your brethren will be on your head and your head alone.  You do NOT know how to lead...you do NOT hold dear the same values and ideals that ‘We the People’ do...and above all else you have NO love for America or all we cherish.

So why don’t you do us a favor and start packing your bags because you, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, will NOT usurp again.  Sleeping giants all across our great land are waking up...we have your score...we know who you really are...and we are done with you and your traitorous acts.

Oh, and one more thing Mr. Obama, I hope this picture haunts you until your end of days as word has leaked out that Ambassador Stevens asked for help two days BEFORE our embassy was overrun and he and the others were MURDERED...and you did NOTHING...you did nothing.

November 6th can’t come soon enough for me and for America.

With NO respect due,
The Patriot Factor

U.N. mum on deaths of Americans

Secretary general, general assembly remain quiet about Muslim terror

by Stewart Stogel / WND

UnitedNations32UNITED NATIONS – Two terrorist attacks on United States diplomatic missions and a national day to honor those fallen during 9/11, and the United Nations remained curiously muted.

Neither Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon nor the Security Council issued any immediate reaction to the Tuesday attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo or the storming of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, by Muslim extremists.

By late Wednesday morning, the Security Council did convene a previously scheduled briefing on Libya, but even that brought a muted action.

The gathering opened with a brief statement by council president Peter Wittig, of Germany, who “strongly condemned” the attack and offered condolences to the U.S. delegation.

It lasted less than 10 seconds.

Wittig’s brief condolences were followed by a similar statement by U.N. Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.

Incredibly, Feltman told the council “security remains the biggest challenge for the Libyan government.”

But there was nothing directly from Ban or the 193-member U.N. General Assembly.

General Assembly President Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, of Qatar, has been silent.

In the Libyan attack, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed. It was the first death of a U.S. ambassador in the line of duty in more than 30 years.

Yet last month, Ban issued several quick condemnations of “terrorist attacks” in Pakistan, the Sinai Desert and Darfur.

In the council meeting, Libya’s U.N. ambassador, Mohamed Shalgham, a holdover from the Gadhafi regime, explained that the “new provisional government was still in the process of establishing security throughout the country.”

He went on to call Ambassador Stevens “a great friend of the Libyan people who stood with them shoulder-to-shoulder in their war against the tyrant.”

Shalgham informed the council his government will seek to capture and punish those behind the attack.

He went on to state that any Libyan security forces who might have been lax in performing their duties would be prosecuted.

Yesterday, all three U.N. bodies remained silent on the 11th anniversary of 9/11.

U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq told WND: “We don’t offer a statement every year. We issued one last year. It still stands.”

In 2001, it took then Secretary-General Kofi Annan and the Security Council more than three months to visit Ground Zero.

At the time, Annan spokesman Fred Eckhard explained “security considerations” kept the U.N. personnel from paying their respects at the World Trade Center site.

What Eckhard ignored was the fact that President George W. Bush visited Ground Zero within days of the attack. The president was followed by President Jacques Chirac of France and U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair the same month.

Security issues did not seem to concern them or other world leaders who appeared long before the United Nations.

Richard Grenell, former director of communications at the U.S. mission at the U.N., criticized the world body, asserting “it is always appropriate to quickly defend America.”

Th U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, refused to comment on the U.N. reaction.

Arab Spring, American Winter

By: Debra J. Saunders  / Townhall.com

Arab Spring, American Winter

They don't fear us, and they don't respect us. That's the only message you can take away from an Egyptian mob's attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo during which rioters scaled embassy walls and tore down the American flag on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. President Barack Obama helped ease out Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak -- a dictator, yes, but also an ally -- to facilitate the Arab Spring, and this is the thanks America gets.

Sadly, a separate assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that took the life of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other diplomatic staffers presents a different lesson. Despite ample U.S. military assistance, Libya's civil war isn't over. Stevens' brave support of Libyans' efforts to overthrow strongman Moammar Gadhafi likely made him a target.

"How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction?"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked. She placed the responsibility on "a small and savage group," not on "the people or government of Libya."

Over time, Americans will learn more about what happened and why. Already, the attacks are playing a part in presidential campaign politics.

As protesters gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday, the embassy released a statement that condemned "continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims." It was a salvo against Quran-burning preacher Terry Jones and the movie "The Innocence of Muslims," which deliberately lampoons Prophet Muhammad.

After protesters scaled the embassy walls, some conservatives (unaware of the timing of the statement's release) slammed diplomats for issuing an excuse of sorts for those who had attacked a U.S. facility.

The Obama administration also seemed to think the embassy had struck the wrong note. The administration disavowed the embassy's statement.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney then released a statement in which he asserted that it was "disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks ... but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks." On Wednesday, after learning of Stevens' death, Romney hit Obama for sending "mixed messages."

Then the media spent the morning kicking Romney for jumping the gun as pundits liberally blamed preacher Jones and the movie-makers for inciting violence in Africa.

Now it seems the critics may have jumped the gun. Al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri had released a video calling on Islamists to avenge the death of a Libyan-born cleric killed in a U.S. drone attack. Intelligence officials believe the Benghazi attack was planned well in advance.

Maybe it's not a coincidence that mobs attacked two U.S. delegations on the same day. And isn't it time that the experts asked whether al-Qaida sympathizers were looking for an excuse for a 9/11 rampage? So why give them cover by blaming crazy talkers such as Terry Jones?

Libya Commemorates 9/11

By: Ann Coulter  / Townhall Daily

When President Obama intervened in Libya last year, he claimed that "it's in our national interest to act" to remove a tyrant who -- in response to Bush's invasion of Iraq -- had just given up his weapons of mass destruction and pledged to be America's BFF.

Apparently Gadhafi neglected to also tell Obama, "I've got your back."

Obama said: "We must stand alongside those who believe in the same core principles that have guided us through many storms ... our support for a set of universal rights, including the freedom for people to express themselves and choose their leaders; our support for the governments that are ultimately responsive to the aspirations of the people."

The Libyan mob was the equivalent of our founding fathers! (If you overlook the part about it being a murderous Islamic mob.)

Meanwhile, Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA's Bin Laden unit, said: "The people we are fighting for in Libya, the backbone of that movement, are former mujahedeen from around the world." We are "enabling people who may not be formally aligned with al-Qaida but who want the same things to grasp ever closer to power."

Scheuer said the media had taken "a few English-speaking Arabs who are pro-democracy and a few Facebook pages out of the Middle East and extrapolated that to a region-wide love of secular democracy," adding, "It is as insane a situation as I've ever encountered in my life."

No wonder Obama's running for re-election on his foreign policy expertise!

Among Republicans, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum all called for aggressive action against Gadhafi, including enforcement of a no-fly zone.

Santorum cited Reagan's 1986 bombing of Libya (after Gadhafi had killed American servicemen in Berlin), saying, "If you want to be Reaganesque, it seems the path is pretty clear."

Gingrich took all sides, first demanding: "Exercise a no-fly zone this evening. We don't need to have the United Nations. All we have to say is that we think that slaughtering your own citizens is unacceptable and that we're intervening. This is a moment to get rid of him. Do it. Get it over with."

Then, two weeks later, he said: "I would not have intervened."

Only Mitt Romney and Haley Barbour resisted calling for aggressive action against Gadhafi, with Romney merely criticizing Obama's deer-in-the-headlights response, and Barbour stating more directly, "I don't think it's our mission to make Libya look like Luxembourg." No offense, he said, "but it is not ever going to look like what we'd like."

The New York Times' Thomas Friedman exulted that the Arab peoples "have come up with their own answer to violent extremism and the abusive regimes we've been propping up. ... It's called democracy."

The Washington Post's David Ignatius praised Obama's major shift in strategy in seeing the Libyan uprising as a "positive development" and refusing to provide aid to the embattled dictator. "My own instinct," he said, "is that Obama is right."

French liberal blowhard Bernard-Henri Levy announced that "Libya will go down in history as the anti-Iraq. Iraq was a democracy parachuted in by a foreign power in a country which hadn't asked for it. Libya was a rebellion which demanded help from an international coalition."

The Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette editorialized: "Most of the world is rejoicing because of the historic success in Libya. We're glad it was accomplished by Libya's people, not by a U.S. invasion ordered by right-wing American politicians."

I note that the American ambassador in Iraq has not been murdered and his corpse dragged through the streets. I also recall that, a few years ago, when Muslims around the globe erupted in rioting over some Dutch cartoons, one Muslim country remained utterly pacific: George W. Bush's Iraq.

Apparently U.S. invasions ordered by right-wing American politicians are the only ones that work in the Middle East. Fake uprisings orchestrated by Muslim fanatics are less propitious.

Learn your history, Americans. The American Revolution was not the revolt of a mob. It was a carefully thought-out plan for a republic, based on ideas painstakingly argued by serious men in the process of creating what would become the freest, most prosperous nation in world history.

The much-ballyhooed "Arab Spring," with mobs of men gang-raping American reporters, firing guns in the air and murdering their erstwhile dictators, is more akin to the pointless bloodletting of the French Revolution.

That godless antithesis to the founding of America is the primogenitor of the horrors of the Bolshevik Revolution, Hitler's Nazi Party, Mao's Cultural Revolution, Pol Pot's slaughter and America's periodic mob uprisings, from Shays' Rebellion to today's union thugs in Madison, Wis., and Occupy Wall Street.

Americans did win freedom and greater individual rights with their revolution. By contrast, the French Revolution resulted in bestial savagery, a slaughter of all the revolution's leaders, followed by Napoleon's dictatorship, followed by another monarchy, and then finally something resembling an actual republic 80 years later.

Apologizes yet again...and four Americans die
By: Diane Sori

Whether Barack HUSSEIN Obama wants to admit it or not, the cleverly crafted murder of US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other American Embassy staff personnel signals that war has been declared on America.

Our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, was stormed and taken by islamist gunmen who justified their murderous actions by saying an America movie had insulted mohammad.  Give me a break...to them everything insults their precious prophet, who by the way was NO prophet but was a perverted barbaric madman.

And while this was going on in Libya yet another attack on our U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt was still in progress culminating in the islamic flag being raised as ours was taken down, defaced, and defiled.

With the Middle East always a smoldering powder keg, what triggered this new violence...it’s simple...our government issued yet another ridiculous apology to Egypt in an effort to try and quell building anti-American sentiment

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims . . ." “We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of muslims”

This statement was said again as protesters were at the gates ready to attack...almost like they were egging them on so their buddy Obama could rush in and save the day.

There is something so horribly wrong with this entire picture starting with Obama’s response.  In a hastily prepared statement said before heading off to yet another Las Vegas campaign fundraiser, Obama let known that he is ordering heightened security at all US Embassies worldwide, something that should have been done long ago.

And with it now confirmed by the State Department that two of our warships are being sent to the area, and with an anti-terrorism team of U.S. Marines being deployed to Libya to help secure U.S. interests in the country, this should make it obvious to all that Obama is in way over his head because they should have been there all along to protect our interests in such an unstable country.

And when we have a president who stands before ‘We the People’ and says, “We will work with the Libyan government to bring these people to justice” you know we are in BIG trouble.  When did this country ever stand down when our citizens are brutally murdered...NEVER...that is until Barack HUSSEIN Obama took office.  What a lack of leadership, what a display of cowardness, and what a showing of placating the enemy by this miserable excuse of a president.

What Obama should have done, in my opinion, was to have gone of national television and announced that US aircraft have bombed Libya in retaliation for the targeted MURDER of our Ambassador and the three other Americans.  After all, an embassy compound is US property on what amounts to US soil, so attack one of our embassies and you are attacking America.

Now that would have sent a powerful message to those out to kill us...you mess with us or our people, it will be you who die.

But Obama did NOT do that as he sides against America and Americans every chance he gets.

And with these attacks following right on the heels of Obama’s deliberate snub of Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, all this is just too much of a coincidence to have happen on September 11th to be just by chance.  Both the attacks and snub of Netanyahu were planned and coordinated to coincide with 9/11, as if to rub our faces in it.

And then in the middle of all this Hillary chimes in bloviating that this is an isolated attack and NOT the fault of the Libyan government or the people.

In her statement Hillary said, "The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others," Clinton said.  "Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind."

But, and this is key...Hillary’s response spoke of condemnation for these acts LAST instead of first.

Both Hillary and Obama are yet again making excuses for those out to kill us, while refusing to admit that we ARE at war with islam and they with us.

In a statement issued as events unfolded, Mitt Romney reflected moral clarity when he blasted Obama by saying, "It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."

How right he is.

It’s our president’s job is to see that America is defended ‘against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic,’ and as such Barack HUSSEIN Obama has failed on all accounts, as he has made America and Americans a target of the barbarians that are his brethren.

As long as Barack HUSSEIN Obama is president NOTHING will change as he forces  America to bow down to those out to kill us.  For the sake of America, for the sake of Israel, for the sake of the world we MUST send this traitorous miserable excuse of a president packing on November 6th.
