Defiant Omar: My Anti-Semitism Has Started a 'Difficult Conversation,' Representing 'Great Progress'

She isn't contrite, sorry, or chastened.  She's taking a victory lap. When the House voted to condemn Steve King earlier this year, perhaps an adviser should have counseled him to put out a triumphant statement about forcing a complicated but essential conversation about Western civilization.  Great "progress."  Big win.  That would definitely have been allowed to fly, right?  In fairness, he couldn't have been this brazen because his party stood firmly against him.  The GOP didn't demand a slew of whataboutist deflections be inserted into any legislative language, and leadership stripped him of his committee assignments.  Omar, by contrast, not only faced no consequence for her latest descent into anti-Semitism, she stirred a partisan rebellion that further empowered her.  And she's flaunting it:

Remove Her From Office x Three

I believe that anyone running for elected office here in these United States should be unabashedly pro-American no matter if there's a D or an R next to their name. No one running for office should hold allegiance to a foreign government, to a terrorist group, or be allowed to accept monies from those known to wish America harm. And those running for office should never put their personal religious beliefs above the very foundation upon which this great nation was built...as in the Constitution...the law of our land.

And if these things do get in the way of someone doing the job they were elected to do then said someone should be removed from office for the good not only of their constituents but for the good of our country as a whole. But know I do not mean removing someone from office for legitimate political discourse or disagreements, but solely for what amounts to traitorous actions that not only jeopardize our country and “We the People's” safety, but jeopardize the safety of our allies as well.

Paul Manafort Was Sentenced. Here's How Long He'll Spend In Prison.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was sentenced to 47 months in prison at a hearing in an Alexandria, VA courthouse Thursday for bank and tax fraud.

As a part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion, investigators discovered that Manafort failed to report $16.5 million in income for political consulting work on behalf of Ukraine. They also found he dodged taxes on that income and failed to report foreign lobbying. The crimes were unrelated to his time serving in the Trump campaign.
