Op-ed:
Jimmy Carter and the Democrats...the catalysts for today’s Middle East fiasco
By: Diane Sori

Isn’t it wonderful how Barack Hussein Obama and all his liberal Democratic buddies love to blame Republican President George W. Bush for all the problems in the Middle East.  How convenient that they fail to remember that the real problems started with one of their own, Mr. Peanut himself, Jimmy Carter.

If we look at the major obstacles facing us today in regards to the Middle East, we can thank Jimmy Carter for just about all of it.  Carter’s actions, or should I say lack of actions back in the 1970’s, served to fuel today’s hatred towards Israel, and have led directly to the current escalation of violence throughout the entire region.

Starting with Carter’s abandonment of the Shah of Iran, to the November 1979 Iranian taking of our diplomats as hostages, followed the next month by the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan, it’s plain to see where the finger of blame for today’s mess needs to be pointed...and it ‘aint at George W. Bush.

Jimmy Carter's sole claim to fame was the 1979 Camp David Accords, the Israel-Egypt peace treaty. While the alleged peace treaty between Egypt and Israel shakily held up until the recent ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, that coupled with the hostile takeover of the Egyptian government by islamic radicals increased restlessness between Egypt and Israel.  Now some in The Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist organizations are calling for the total shelving of the Camp David Accords...a foreboding of war.

But the real biggie for Jimmy Carter, which led to starting of the entire downward spiral in the Middle East was his total betrayal of the Shah of Iran.  In 1979, a newly formed radical islamic regime lead by Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah, sending him into exile in Mexico. This betrayal by Carter helped to fuel the islamic revolution, which led to student revolutionaries taking over the American embassy in Tehran, where they captured 52 American diplomats.  The hostages were held for 444 days until Carter left office on January 20, 1981.  Why were they suddenly freed then...because the revolutionaries feared what Republican President-elect Ronald Reagan might do if they didn't let them go.

We’ve been having problems with Iran ever since...thanks, Jimmy.  And isn’t it ironic that islamic extremists, wherever they might be, fear Republicans but just love to play games with the Democrats, whose answer to everything is to play politically correct games with them.

Anyway, all this led directly to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, because the Russians knew Carter would do nothing to stop them.  That invasion was directly responsible for the worldwide rise of radical islam and terrorist attacks, which culminated in the mother lode of all terrorist attacks...Sept. 11, 2001.

And Democrat Jimmy Carter was the catalyst to it all and still continues to add fuel to the fire as he just recently went over to Egypt to butt into their (fixed) elections.

Hey, Jimmy, haven’t you caused enough problems already!

And then there's Israel.

Adding further insult to injury, Jimmy Carter was a friend, an admitted close friend of former PLO President Yassir Arafat, on whose side he stood with all the phony ‘land for peace’ nonsense Arafat proposed.  In 2002, at Arafat's urging, Carter even went so far as to suggest that the U.S. should threaten Israel with the possible loss of U.S. aid if it continues its military offensive in the West Bank.

Add to this that millions of Arab dollars had been given to the Georgia Carter Center and the Jimmy Carter Library from His Majesty Sultan Qaboss bin Said Al Said of Oman, Jordan, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and from the government of the United Arab Emirates.  And additional hundreds of thousands of dollars have been given to the center by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. H.R.H.  Prince Moulay Hicham Ben Abdallah of Morocco has also contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the Carter Center.

Gee, I wonder where Jimmy Carter's loyalties lie, wink, wink.

That answer is simple, because let’s not forget that over the years Carter has publicly stated, and continues to state even to this day, that Hamas and Hezbollah are NOT terrorist organizations but are humanitarian ones.

Yeah, right.  Hey Jimmy, your anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiments are showing.

Jimmy Carter’s was a failed presidency with disasters on both the economic front (but that’s for another day) and on the foreign front as are Barack Hussein Obama’s.

And then there’s Democrat Bill Clinton.  You have to add him into this mix, because we must not forget his what amounted to a basic lack of response after the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, and his slap on the wrist response for the bombing attack on the USS Cole in October 2000, when 17 American sailors lost their lives.

And in these Democratic footsteps is where Barack Hussein Obama is following in regards to the Middle East and the terrorists.  All the victories both large and small George W. Bush had in Iraq, and he had many, have been completely negated by Obama telling our enemies when we’ll be withdrawing. Now they sit and wait for us to leave and then they'll pounce and pounce hard.

All this is the price we've paid for Democrat Jimmy Carter's destabilizing of the region in the first place and it's going to be felt for years to come.

I don't envy what our new Republican president, Mitt Romney (insert hopeful expectations here), with the help of our troops will have to do in regards to the Middle East, for they will be the ones who will have to sort out and clean up the mess Democrat Jimmy Carter started, Democrat Bill Clinton turned his back on, and Democrat Barack Hussein Obama could care less about unless it aids his re-election bid.

    1. Harris Klein says,
Diane you hit it very squarly on the head. I would llike to add a bit.I really do not comprehend how this guy reach the WH. It is more than a big puzzle to me.I strongly feel that Sheriff Joe is on the right track and I am hopeful other states join in his efforts.I guess that the average voter is as dumb as they come.Certainly any one who voted for BHO is plain stupid. There is one thing that would have stopped any real American and that is that all of our country's enemies wanted him to win. They celebrated when BHO won. They knew they could easily handle him and get what they want with little or no effort.Yes, I know about voter fraud and Black Panthers but those were overshadowed by just the stupidity of too many voters.

    2. Thanks, Harris and I do so agree that our country's enemies are Obama's biggest supporters as they can pull his strings with NO effort at all.
