More than 40 rabbis intend to boycott Donald Trump's speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference. The speech is scheduled for Monday.

The boycotting rabbis are concerned about Trump's attitudes towards Israel as well as his praise for authoritarian leaders.
The concerns being expressed by many Jewish leaders go beyond Trump’s controversial pledge to be “neutral” during peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians — and extend to fears of Trump’s style and approach to power.
Some say they hear echoes of a painful past under fascism in Trump’s recent comments appearing to praise authoritarian figures such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and in the way that Trump stokes economic anger among his supporters. And they point to Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims entering the United States and his harsh rhetoric on illegal Mexican migrants as reminiscent of the anti-immigrant sentiment that greeted European Jews in generations past.
“These are the darkest days for Republican Jews like myself,” former George W. Bush speechwriter Noam Neusner wrote in a column this month in the Forward, a Jewish newspaper. He wrote that Trump “has built within our party the nearest thing America has ever seen to a European nativist working-class political movement. Such movements, to put it mildly, have never been good for the Jews or allies of free thought and the free market.”
Trump's speech at AIPAC is the reason why the debate scheduled for Monday was canceled.

  1. Donald Trump would be a disaster for Israel and for Jews as a whole as he wants the U.S. to remain neutral in regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And Trump has NOT one workable policy...neither foreign or domestic...as he's a sound byte driven candidate anointed by the same media who anointed Obama back in 2008 and 2012...period.

  2. Dianne, I hope you are wrong about that, because although I have always preferred and supported Cruz, I think Trump will get the nomination.

And I think he will beat Hillary like a drum, just as I think Cruz would beat her like a drum.

Whatever bad things people know about Trump, I wish it would get out into the public domain now, so that we do not get any ugly surprises after he gets the nomination.

If Trump is telling the truth about his desire to make America great, and I think he is, then he will probably turn out to be a good president. Obviously much of the public believes that he loves America, and it has been almost 8 years since we had a president who did.People are hungry for that , for a President who is on America's side, and who has energy, drive, and a willingness to stand up against political correctness, as Trump did when he said he would stop muslim immigration.

One thing I do believe. If Trump has a commanding lead going into the convention and the republican powers cheat him out of it, it will be a disaster for America, because we will likely then get the corrupt socialist Hillary. We can see that Obama is going to continue on his lawless path by not allowing his attorney general to indict her.

Who knows, Trump might even have the nerve to support a constitutional amendment that declares that since Islam is a subversive political ideology it shall not be considered to be a religion within the meaning of the constitution of the U S or any state or possession thereof, and that sharia law will not be recognized or enforced in the U S or any state of possession thereof. Now that would be a real accomplishment.
