Just a Thought

The thought below is my {Diane Sori) thought alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.or google.com

[[[ Message to President Trump: As per some of your comments of late regarding the "Strait of Hormuz" and your now making it a U.S. territory in some posts/interviews or saying "the Strait is now under permanent U.S. control" in other posts/interviews, and then trying to either joke about it or have PR cover them up is just plain wrong. The fact is Mr. President, that war...any war...is NOT a joke, and should NEVER be treated as such. People die in wars...innocent people...and all your silly comments do is rub salt into the wounds of those in mourning. I say maybe you should stop and think about your words BEFORE you actually say them. ]]]

Even Great Presidents Make Mistakes...Part One

...And to that, with all due honor and respect I say, “No, Mr. President you are wrong.” Why so...because as a businessman you had to know that no juggling of numbers of “tariff” raised revenues would ever be large enough to significantly filter down to “We the People's” pocketbooks let alone bring down the gross national debt, the prices at the grocery store and at the pump. Simple math alone does dictate that to be fact.

Donald Trump's intentions and motives in focusing on the “tariffs” cannot be questioned for he truly did believe the issue needed to be addressed...which it certainly did...it was just that, in my opinion, his timing was off in doing so what with so many American's monetarily still hurting.

And now when you add that President Trump wants part of the income from the “tariffs” to pay $2,000 dividends in seven year annual increments to low and middle income Americans, he has ignored the fact that in doing so it would actually counter his original intention of the “tariffs” helping to bring down the growing...Read entire article here.

Even Great Presidents Make Mistakes...Part One
By Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor
The article posted here is the authors opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.com or Google

Let me begin by saying that I voted for President Donald J. Trump three times, and would vote for him a fourth time if it was constitutionally allowed. I also think that as president he has done an amazing job when it comes to securing our southern border, removing those here illegally, cracking down on crime in America's cities, cutting bureaucratic wasteful spending, and in his striving to bring global peace. However, here I must add that Donald Trump, in his position as president, is not perfect...nobody is...in regards to what are two areas of growing concern to many Americans, as in the economy and the Israel/Hamas ceasefire that is anything but a ceasefire let alone a pathway to lasting peace.

In this 'Part One' of what is a two part series, I will first focus on the economy. And with that said, remember back to the 2024 presidential campaign when then candidate Donald Trump promised to reduce government expenditures by eliminating certain agencies; slashing federal regulations; ending spending on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives; and cutting what he called “fraudulent spending”...all of which were indeed promises kept. In fact, as per the U,S. Treasury Department, “year-over-year federal spending growth” has declined during Trump’s first year of this current term. Score one for our side I'd say.

Also during that same campaign, Trump promised to end inflation, lower prices at the grocery store and at the “ pump,” as well as lowering the national debt. Has any of that happened to a significant or lasting degree...in a word,“no.” And why not...because for President Trump the word “tariffs” seemingly took over all vestiges of economic logic. And while I do agree that the “tariffs” needed to be addressed as per Trump's rightfully stating that we were being “taken advantage” of for far too long in regards to “tariffs,” I did, however, state on day one when Trump's “tariff” proposal was announced...and got much flack for it...that I believed now was not the right time to address the “tariffs.” And my reason given as to why was that the economy needed to be addressed first as American families and workers were still financially hurting after the four disastrous Biden/Harris years.

In fact, I believed then as I do now that a better way to lower grocery prices overall, without having to resort to “tariffs,” would have been if Trump had initiated a countrywide effort to help increase the production of our own home grown food supplies. How so...by his fostering in both the concept of “fair competition,” while also addressing the food supply chains rightfully called “inefficiencies.” And this could have simply been done by Trump's easing, or outright eliminating, some of the still in effect overburdening regulations that stifle efforts to increase what is our domestic food supply.

Simply, if the supply of domestic goods is readily available and fairly priced, then the  consumers demand for cheaper made foreign goods will start to wain, thus leaving the “tariff” issue to safely be addressed at a later time.

Now as for the price at the ” pump,” that too is being affected by the newest Trump “tariffs.” How and why so...because just like with grocery prices, gas prices do tend to go up as “tariffs” increase, especially in regards to imported “refined products.” Simply, any increase in the cost of imported energy...in this case it's in regards to diesel gasoline and crude oil...does tend to see the consumer paying higher prices at the pump. And while prices, for a short time, did drop but mostly on “regular” gasoline, the price drop was but pennies per gallon. Translation: not enough dollar savings has been acquired to really help the average American consumer at the “pump,” especially with many cars now on the road still needing “high test” not “regular” gasoline.

Here's but one example. As I was writing this article, here in south Florida my husband just paid $3.52 per gallon for high test gasoline to fill his 22-gallon tank car, for a total of $77.44. We used to pay around $3.60 per gallon earlier this year when Trump took office for a total of $79.20. Simply, my husband saved but a mere 8 cents per gallon to fill up his tank for a grand total savings of $1.76 per tank full...a quite laughable savings I'd say...a savings that cannot even buy someone a full carton of eggs.

But in regards to both grocery and gas prices I'd be remiss if I didn't say that the economy...and everything else Trump inherited...was an economy in total shambles, which in and of itself should have put the economy front and center of the Trump agenda not the “tariffs” which, in my opinion, just make a bad situation even worse for many Americans.

But something that must not to be forgotten in this discourse is that, thanks to President Trump, inflation itself has come down a bit even while prices at the grocery store and at the “pump” are on the rise up again. And why...partially because of the “tariffs” as a fair amount of imported goods (like coffee, fruits, seafood, nuts, cheese, and beef for example) do stock America's grocery store shelves. Remember, “tariffs” are basically a tax on imported goods which the taxed countries then pass on to we consumers by a rise in a given goods price.

And to give additional credence to my previously stated “economy first” then the tariffs opinion, many leading economists...economists like Thomas Sowell, Jeremy Siegel, and Joseph Stiglitz (winner of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.)...have also opined that in Trump's imposing the “tariffs” before addressing what were the underlying economic conditions was a mistake. And why so...because in his focusing on the “tariffs” in regards to their being revenue generating, Trump believed that it would help to correct what he considered to be a U.S. “trade deficit” while also helping to bring down the national debt. But with a “trade deficit” simply meaning that one country buys more goods and services from another country than it sells to that given county, more monies flow out of the country to pay for the imports than comes into said country as a payment for the exports.

“The impact of imposing these tariffs will have the effect of depressing U.S. economic growth, contributing to a higher rate of inflation, and those effects will be worse if the other countries retaliate in kind.”

- Marcus Noland, executive vice president of the 'Peterson Institute for International Economics'

Think of it this way, the raising of “tariffs” on imported goods...Trump's still economic focus...will in the end be passed on to we the American consumers courtesy of a price rise initiated by the countries supplying said goods. And why the increase...because those countries need additional revenue to offset the Trump imposed increase in “tariffs” in order for them to be able to afford to purchase American exported goods which could, in turn, actually lead to a rise in inflation.

Now add in that Trump believed that his “tariff” objectives would, in ten years time, see a four trillion dollar reduction in the national debt (numbers shifting on paper), but the truth is that these “tariffs” would have done nothing of substance to lower said debt. And how did I know this...because I knew that while “tariffs” do generate a certain amount of income, the amount they generate is but a small portion of what are much needed government revenues. And when coupled with the fact that “tariffs” typically raise billions, not trillions, of dollars in revenue, it was easy to surmise that the numbers themselves simply would not allow for a truly meaningful reduction in the national debt no matter the time limit placed. And this is exactly what I said would be the outcome as soon as Trump announced his “tariff” plan.

A background in rocket science is not needed to figure that outcome out, a simple understating that two plus two will always equal four serves the purpose well.

So even with the “tariffs” that were already in place before President Trump's newest round of “tariffs” was announced, the fact remains that our national debt did continue to increase not decrease, and the real time numbers prove it.

One case in point is that as of early November 2025, the U.S.gross national debt registered at approximately $38.09 trillion which is a $2.18 trillion increase over 2024's gross national debt, with the corresponding average daily increase being around $5.97 billion. And while interest payments alone remain in excess of $1.2 trillion, this allowed the debt-to-GDP ratio to keep rising because “tariff” generated revenues only offer a temporary fluctuation in deficit relief.

Simple translation: you cannot rob Peter to pay Paul when the tangible monies needed to do so are simply not available...or in this specific case are but a fraction of what would be needed to meaningfully bring down the national debt.

And yet while the “tariffs” were and still are being touted by President Trump as a possible solution to some of America's and Americans money woes...and know he does so with good intentions...the average American still sees no long range benefits being filtered down to their personal pocketbooks. And many have come out to voice that very opinion including FOX News' very own Laura Ingram who, during a recent on air “Ingram Angle” interview, pressed President Trump on American voters' growing what she called “anxieties” about the economy, affordability, inflation, and rising grocery and gas prices, to name but a few. And when she brought up the “tariffs” Trump's response was that, “the economy is the greatest we've ever had” while dismissing polls and voter anxieties as but a “con job” or “fake.”

And to that, with all due honor and respect I say, “No, Mr.

And now when you add that President Trump wants part of the income from the “tariffs” to pay $2,000 dividends in seven year annual increments to low and middle income Americans, he has ignored the fact that in doing so it would actually counter his original intention of the “tariffs” helping to bring down the growing national debt. Why so...because as per the non-partisan “Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget” (CRFB), the huge amount of monies being diverted via the payouts would push the national debt to 127% of the GDP by 2035, and possibly see it eventually rising to 134% of the GDP. Not good folks, not good at all.

Simply, the man, the president, I truly admire and was proud to vote for three times lost, in my opinion, his focus on exactly how to bring down the rising costs we Americans see on a daily basis in regards to grocery store prices and at the “pump.” Dwelling so deeply on the “tariffs”*  was not and is not the sole answer to our Biden/Harris inherited economic problems...the issue of the “tariffs” could have waited, and I'm glad that key economists on both sides of the political aisle are now saying exactly what I said months ago. I only hope, in my opinion, that this timing mistake does not affect the 2026 midterms in a negative way.

In “Even Great Presidents Make Mistakes...Part Two,” (which will be published on Monday, December 1st, due to the Thanksgiving holiday), I will focus on a key foreign policy mistake President Trump made, and why it might well affect the 2028 presidential ticket...but for now, case closed.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor

Today is March 29th, the day set aside back in 1973 to be 'National Vietnam War Veterans Day.' Why that day... because on March 29, 1973, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) was disbanded and the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam. This day has become a day to honor those who served and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in one of our nation’s most gruesome wars. And on March 28, 2017...done a day early...President Trump signed the 'Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017,' the act 'officially' recognizing March 29th as 'National Vietnam War Veterans Day.' Thank you to all who served...you are not forgotten. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Egos, Platitudes, and Will They Debate

...And something not to be forgotten, lest they get lost in the shuffle, is that besides these two key players other candidates are jockeying to be their party's nominee. And it's these candidates who truly need to be seen debating for the act of debating itself will test their performative aspect of leadership, their mental and physical stamina, as well as we seeing and hearing how they act and how they react when up against their political opponents.

Remember, the simple act of debating allows we voters the chance to witness our candidate of choice in a one-on-one situation of sorts, and while listening to their words we also get to see how well said candidate acts under highly spotlighted stress. Egos, Platitudes, and Will They Debate
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio
This an opinion piece, my opinion alone, and does not necessarily represent the views of blogspot.com.

I'll begin by first saying that Donald J. Trump was a great president...economically great; foreign policy great; great at making us energy independent; the list of his greats is endless. And if he gets the nomination of course I will support and vote for him no matter the political baggage he unfortunately continues to carry.

But I do have a problem, a serious problem, when ego and narcissism become one's prime campaign posturing. And it goes beyond the silly nicknames called; beyond the need for constant adulation; and beyond the not so hidden fear that other candidates might bring something to the table that he, Donald Trump, at this point in time has not. And what is that something but the fact that Trump has yet to realize that he is not running against his fellow Republican nominees for the presidency, but against Democrat Joe Biden and his America defaming, America destroying policies.

For example, President Trump claimed in an interview last week that he’s under "total assault" because he’s leading in the 2024 polls...polls taken a year and a half out...polls which this far out really means not a thing. And the fact is...whether the “Only Trumpers” like it or not... Trump is not leading in any...I repeat any...of the Trump v. Biden match-up polls. The closest Trump gets is losing to Biden by one percentage point while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is leading Joe Biden by at least three or more percentage points in not just a recent all-important “Wall Street Journal” poll, but in some state polls as well. In fact, the Wall Street Journal stated that the only...I repeat only...candidate able to beat Biden, as per today's candidate match-up, is Ron DeSantis... the very the man who has not even decided nor declared his intention to run yet.

And yet I will still vote for Donald Trump if he gets the nomination even knowing that with registered Democrats still outnumbering registered Republicans...and all elections are about numbers after all...there remains a strong possibility that Trump will lose to Biden again. And why will he lose...because as things stand now it will be the Independent voters who will decide the outcome of the 2024 presidential election....not Republicans nor Democrats alone. And right now neither Independents nor crossover Democrat voters are all too happy with Donald J. Trump...not with his political and personal baggage nor his self-serving “it's all about me” revenge based demeanor, and that also includes even some of we Republicans and mainline Conservatives as well.

Revenge politics is indeed a poor reason to re-seek the presidency as history itself shows that revenge is not something that sits well with the majority of voters in either party. And so it's the Independents who will not only decide who will sit in the White House, but decide the very direction in which our country will now go...as in to the left or (hopefully) to the right. So do we allow Biden's puppet master his what would be fourth term in office...do we now see Barack Obama's “fundamental transformation of America” finally reaching fruition where democracy in the guise of mob rule helps usher in the new era of socialism based dictatorial anarchy...or do we, with the Independents help, return our now seemingly unrecognizable country back to the Constitutional Republic she was always intended to be? The choice remains ours to decide, but we do need certain tangibles in place if we are to make informed, well thought out decisions about both America's leadership and America's future.

And the only way to get an idea of how our country will, or at least should go, is to listen to the candidates of both parties speak...speak in civilized tones putting silly name calling and innuendos aside...and compare and contrast each of their visions for America's future. All candidates need to present to the voters their individual policies proposed, how they would solve the issues facing us today, along with the direction they would like to see our country be taken in and why. And this is best handled in a civilized manner on the debate stage with words directly coming from the candidates mouths minus the theatrics that has sadly become the calling card of some in both major political parties.

Simply, theatrics and one's ego needs to be put aside for the good of American politics....for the good of America herself and for “We the American People.”

But unfortunately, even the “time honored” institution of debating has become a question, as to will the debates take place or not? And it's a question hovering over both major parties as the two key individuals involved are so acting like children...one who should well know better, and the other, as all can now see, obviously not in his right mind.

And right now the fact is that “We the People” instead of gearing up for and looking forward to upcoming debates are instead witnessing both party's key players wallowing deep in the scenario of will they or won't they debate. Trump's super overinflated ego has him thinking that he doesn't need to debate because he's currently ahead in the polls, and Joe Biden has been told...more likely ordered...not to debate for what are visually obvious reasons, and also the fact that some in the Democrat hierarchy fear he won't survive a second term in office even if he were to be elected.

And something not to be forgotten, lest they get lost in the shuffle, is that besides these two key players other candidates are jockeying to be their party's nominee.

The last thing our country needs right now is yet another hotheaded nominee from either side of the aisle who acts solely based upon pent up emotions instead of by using simple common sense coupled with tangible logic...two things we should demand of whomever are the official final nominees.

And here again I will state that if Donald J. Trump does garner the Republican nomination I will, of course, vote for him for the third time in a row for the other party's most likely nominee has already, in not even one term in office, pushed our country to the abject abyss of both economic and foreign policy failure. And if Joe Biden were to garner four more years in office we will surely go over said abyss falling into a bottomless pit that will truly herald America's downfall.

And its debates alone that will bring out the best and the worst of all hoping to run for president. And if both Joe Biden and President Trump refuse to debate... whether it's Trump or Biden refusing to debate their respective rivals or their refusing to actually debate each other if both do respectively garner their party's nomination, the loser in either case will be America herself. Why and how so? Trump right now, for example, acts as if he's running against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for president instead of Joe Biden, while Biden clearly acts like a man neither mentally nor physically fit to be president...something becoming more and more apparent with each passing day...with both scenarios not good for our country nor for our allies at large.

Also, Kamela Harris remains patiently waiting in the wings you know...if that doesn't scare you I don't know what will.

So here I'll give President Trump four little bits of one-on-one friendly advice, after all he was indeed a great president and he has my vote if he is our Republican nominee. First, Mr. President...and with all due respect given...please stop obsessing over Ron DeSantis for he is not the one you should be worried about running against, Joe Biden is, and it's he and his policies alone that must be your focus. Second, Mr. President, if Ron DeSantis does decide to run...which I believe he will especially with his leading you here in the
“must win” state of Florida 44% to 39% in the latest “Mason-Dixon” survey posted in the “Austin American-Statesman...why not debate him with the facts of what you accomplished when you were president for it's here where your accomplishments would serve you well. Third, please Mr. President, stop your endless cycle of Ron DeSantis attack ads currently running here in Florida...they're riddled with lies, falsehoods, and misplaced innuendos, and they're turning a lot of we Floridians off with some even saying that maybe the “Never Trumpers“ were right.

How so...because we know well, as do you, that Gov. Ron DeSantis has proven what a great governor he is...probably Florida's best governor ever. And just one of many examples of where he shines is how he stands strong not only for Florida’s children but for our nation's children as well...as he is a champion of education...old style education where children are taught the basics of reading, writing, math, science, and America's history... history minus the politically generated nonsense that is “Critical Race Theory,” and minus sexuality being taught to those too young to even know the true differences between the two...yes two...sexes. And you also know, Mr. President, that Ron DeSantis...the very man who kept Florida open, free, and thriving during the covid pandemic...is leading the charge against the left's forced down our throats ever dangerous wokeism agenda...with said education and forced indoctrination being but two of many important issues that we, up until now, have heard not a thing about from you.

Fourth, and lastly, Mr. President...and a personal pet peeve of mine...is that while you might have helped Ron DeSantis win the first time he ran for governor, the fact is that it was his policies and stances alone that got him re-elected last year without any help from you...re-elected in a 19+% landslide vote over his challenger...a vote that you thought would happen in the 2022 midterm election for candidates of your choosing, but simply did not. Says a lot now doesn't it Mr. President, and it should help knock down your ego a bit which would make you a bit more palatable to the Independent voters, maybe even sway some “Never Trumpers” over to your and the Republican side too.

Over to the Republican side...a side that stands for freedom, honor, and love of country...a side where American exceptionalism is heralded not shunned...a side that knows right from wrong, good from evil...a side that knows well that the left's sort after “fundamental transformation” of America can only be stopped with the right man or woman at America's helm. And if you, Mr. President, are once again to be that man then so be it, but if you are not our side's chosen nominee than please stand strong strong behind whomever that person is for the presidency itself is not what's all-important...saving our country and our freedoms is. Case closed..
