Commonalities Shared, Differences Be Damned

For all their differences in temperament and style there’s a deeper continuity in the beliefs of our 40th and 45th presidents.”
- Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark) in a March 8. 2022 speech at the Reagan Presidential Library

The great Ronald Reagan, in my opinion, was the best president of the 20th century...Donald J. Trump might well be the best in this the 21st century, obviously only time itself will tell. And while both men are molded in the “populist” based tradition of “law and order,” the two men are quite different in temperament, personality, and governing style. However, both Reagan (our 40th and 41st president) and Trump {our 45th and now our 47th president) not only championed states rights, but both men had a deep distrust of “big government” bureaucracy.

And with both men embracing the concept of MAGA...as in “Make America Great Again,” know that the MAGA acronym was first coined by Ronald Reagan as “Let's Make America Great Again” (LMAGA) and used it in his 1980 successful campaign for the presidency, while Trump dropped the word Let'sfirst in 2016, then in 2020, and now in 2024.

Two great men, two great presidents, one an orator bar none, the other speaking more in line with today's common vernacular. In fact, to me, Reagan's “Challenger” speech embodies presidential emotion and pride in American exceptionalism like no other, while with but six little words spoken, “Mr. Gorbechev tear down this wall,” he geo-politically realigned both Europe and the world. And while Donald Trump is not nearly as polished a speaker as Reagan...few ever will be nor does Trump have to be...Trump had his shining moment with but three little words spoken...spoken as blood dripped down his face...“fight, fight, fight”...three little words more powerful than any campaign speech to date.

To me, Donald J. Trump is the common man's Ronald Reagan orator wise if you will, but Trump did shine bright in a CPAC speech given seven years ago when he first spoke about the “forgotten men and women of America”...the very men and women who are the “backbone” of our great nation...as in America's working/middle class citizens...the very men and women that the Biden/Harris administration lost complete touch with, thus rightfully costing the Democrats the 2024 election.

And this identifying with America's seemingly forgotten middle class...even though Ronald Reagan was then and Donald Trump is now anything but middle class...both men let their core conservative values and belief in American exceptionalism take center stage in an attempt to unite together the different factions within the Republican party.

And while both men traveled similar yet different paths to reach the same destination...remember both Reagan and Trump were originally Democrats...Reagan's path was then forged courtesy of his “Eleventh Commandment,” as in “do not to speak ill of your fellow Republicans”...simply, do try to put your “differences” aside in the name of “party unity”... while Trump, even with all his silly name calling of those Republicans who dared to oppose him, was still able to accomplish the same final goal as Reagan by his circling the Republican party faithful around him courtesy of the economic and foreign policy successes of his first term in office.

So while Trump did fail to garner a consecutive term in office...and we all know why... Reagan easily did. But as events continue to unfold, I've come to believe that the break in continuity has now worked in Trump's and “We the People's” favor. How so...first by allowing Trump the time needed to not only expose both the hypocrisy and the tactics used by the Democrat party's hierarchy to hold onto the reigns of power...and do so by any and every means possible legal or not...but it also helped to set the stage for showing how Ronald Reagan was the right man for his time, and that Donald J. Trump is truly the right man for today's time.

And the similarities continue on with both men leading a nationwide turn to the right. For Reagan it was courtesy of the abject failed economic and foreign policy agenda of his predecessor, Jimmy Carter, which easily allowed him to turn Carter's negatives into his landslide election win. Remember, not only did the Carter years see the energy crisis of 1979...which was due to massive Middle East oil price hikes...directly lead to an increase in cost-of-living expenses, which culminated in the recession of 1980 all thanks to what was then double-digit inflation. Simply, Jimmy Carter's economic polices were a complete failure, and it took “Reganomics”...replete with major tax cuts...to help turn our economy around. And not to be forgotten is Carter's owning the foreign policy disaster that was the “Iranian Hostage Crisis”*...a crisis which Reagan used as rightful political ammunition to help him win his first presidential election.

Now here the similarities between the two men continues on for while the mid-to-late 1970”s were mired down in Carter's economic and foreign policy disasters...only to turned around courtesy of “Reaganomics”...we today are the victims of “Bidenonomics”...an economic plan that was doomed to fail for it did not understand nor take into account the wants and needs of average middle class American citizens. But thankfully, Donald Trump was the recipient of a “red tsunami” win based primarily upon the economic successes of his first administration. Energy independence, low inflation, sanity at the gas pump and in our supermarkets, proved we were indeed better off four years ago than we are today.

Simply, few were buying into what Jimmy Carter...the man politically deemed a “weak and ineffectual president”...was trying to sell then, leaving Reagan to be elected in a “red tsunami” of his own; just like now when few bought into what Kamala Harris was trying to sell, as proven by Trump's overwhelming win. A decidedly countrywide shift to the right for both Reagan and Trump primarily, but not completely due to their successful economic policies with their foreign policy stances being icing on the proverbial cake.

Reagan was aided in his win by the ongoing “Iranian Hostage Crisis,” a crisis Carter was ill-prepared for; and in his second term Reagan's well tempered oratory skills and his mastery of diplomacy led to not just the tearing down of the Berlin Wall but the collapse of the Soviet Union as well. And in his contest against Harris, Trump was aided in his win by Biden's disastrous pullout of Afghanistan; Biden's seemingly endless blank check to help Ukraine fight its war against Putin's Russia, and the Middle East War between Israel and Iran...remember, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi's are just proxy armies of Iran.

Simply, our country was weary of war during Reagan's time...we were just a few years out of the end of the nightmare that was the Vietnam War...coupled with the fact that the hostage crisis had gone on for way too long. And now during this, what will be Trump's second term in office, we find ourselves facing maniacs...especially the mullahs in Iran...who are hell bent on not just starting World War III, but reshaping and realigning the world's geopolitical map to where individual nations take second place to sought after globalization under the auspices of a “one world” dictatorial style government.

And yet even with this above stated fact, what these two men truly have in common is that both Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump fully embraced and more importantly did understand the concepts of not only “peace though strength,” but also the great need to prioritize both our military and to put America, our American interests, and America's safety first. That cannot be said of Jimmy Carter then nor of Joe Biden now, and most especially it cannot be said of Kamala Harris, as easily witnessed by her failed campaign agenda and its overtly weak and extremely lopsided political alliances.

And here it's also important to remember that both Reagan and Trump were and are of the belief that their predecessors were politically naive and that naivety in and of itself is dangerous by design...dangerous to not only hoped for diplomacy but dangerous to both the applications of the law and to our Constitution itself. Simply, what Reagan worked for then and what Trump is working for now is not just to make America herself great again via a rebirth and pride in American exceptionalism, but to solidify America’s standing on the world stage as both the number one superpower as well as being the true leader and broker of world peace.

So what then are the main differences between these two great men...these two great presidents? While their overall political and policy differences are not many, their differences personality wise are clearly more well defined and telling. Here are the four main differences that, to me, do stand out, but at the same do not diminish either man's greatness.

  • First, Ronald Reagan, as president, was way more tolerant of those within the Republican party who disagreed with him, and was more willing to listen to and at least entertain other points of view even from the Democrat side of the aisle; while to disagree with Trump on almost any topic sometimes left one open to a barrage of silly name-calling with a political dismissal of sorts.

  • Second, while Donald Trump is still viewed by many Democrats and even by some in the Republican party as being more “extreme” in his ideologies and communication style, Reagan is viewed by many as being a man more “establishment” in his overall demeanor, political presentation, and style wise.

  • Third, while Trump demands unwavering personal loyalty to Trump the man, Reagan was more insistent on loyalty to the Republican party then he ever was to himself.

  • And lastly, political vendetta's needing to be settled was never part of who Reagan was either as president or personally, but it is a part of Trump the man. But in Trump's defense I must say it's rightly so for no president has ever had to face a political witch hunt on the scale that this man has.

And so I end with these two quotes from each man's first inauguration speeches...quotes that while not as well known as others do clearly show how both Presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald J. Trump truly define what constitutes a deep love for this country, a pride in our people; and American exceptionalism at it's very best.

First President Reagan... “If we look to the answer as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on earth, it was because here in this land we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Freedom and the dignity of the individual have been more available and assured here than in any other place on earth. - 1981

Now President Trump...“It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.” - 2017

And here may I say, “God Bless America...today, tomorrow, and always.” Case closed.

* Briefly, the Iranian Hostage Crisis began in October 1979, when a group of armed, militant, Iranian college students...who supported the Iranian Revolution”...attacked the U.S. Embassy in Tehran after the overthrown of the Shah Mohamad Reza Pahlavi. The U.S. allied Shah had been granted asylum to came to the U.S. for cancer treatment during this time but the revolution's leaders wanted him back to stand trial. In total, 53 U.S. diplomats and citizens were held hostage from November 4, 1979 to their release on January 20, 1981...the day when Ronald Reagan was sworn in as our 40th president.

The Blame Game Continues

The Blame Game Continues
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio

So many love to place blame on others yet those who do so are the very ones who refuse to accept blame for occurrences even of their own doing. And no one person or group is the masterful orchestrator of the blame game more so than are today's Democrats. In fact, Democrat failures and promises broken are of epic proportion, yet those failures always seem to be the Republicans fault. Take for example that our economy is in a shambles due to Biden's disastrous policy failures what with inflation at a 40-year high and gas prices being laughable at best...for OPEC that is; our Strategic Petroleum Reserves are dangerously low; and our southern border is in such a mess that why do we even have a border at all...which for all intents and purposes we do not, at least not for the time being that is.

Now in regards to the border, about ten days ago the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officially released the number of those who illegally crossed into our country in December 2022...numbers to the tune of border patrol agents and immigration officials having over 251,487 so-called “encounters” with ILLEGAL persons...I will not call them immigrants nor migrants for these folks, for the most part, are anything but. One quarter of a million ILLEGALS, comprising an invading army of sorts, crossed into our country in that one single month alone, not including the over 70,000 so called “gotaways”...“gotaways” who are now freely roaming America's streets...70,000 including drug dealers, gun dealers, murders, rapists, and God only knows what else...with even a bonafide terrorist or two, or three, or most likely more, thrown in for good or should I say bad measure.

And while the numbers stated were not only a record breaking monthly high, said numbers were actually the highest number ever...a record that even now is set be broken what with 717,660+ ILLEGAL “encounters” in the first three months of Fiscal Year 2023 alone, and that's not including the newest batch of “gotaways.” And if those numbers stay on track, it's projected that FY2023 will see roughly 2.9 million ILLEGALS crossing our southern border with most not legally eligible for asylum.

And who do the Democrats still blame for those numbers...Republicans of course and most especially President Trump no matter the fact that during his years in office the numbers alone show that ILLEGALS successfully crossing our southern border was at an all time low. In fact, in February 2019, 97,000+ ILLEGALS crossed our border according toUS Customs and Border Protection dataand of those 70,100+ were actually turned away.

So why do Democrats continue to blame Republicans, and especially President Trump, for the now ever increasing number of folks illegally still entering our country today? It's simply because when Biden dismantled most of Trump's initiated border polices...policies he put in place in order to regain control of the situation at our southern border...Trump exposed a system both rife with fraudulent “asylum” claims along with a seemingly unending backlog of cases. And Democrats could not and would not accept as fact that their deliberately broken immigration policies were being reversed back to what were long-standing, on-the-books immigration laws that actually worked. And with the bonus for Republicans being a decrease in the number of ILLEGALS being given Democrat marked voter cards upon entry, the Democrats were literally besides themselves for an increase in Democrat voters is what the border is really all about.

And besides the border of course Republicans do get the blame for our economy basically being in the toilet for no matter how much Biden bloviates about an increase in jobs numbers, the fact is that the recent small rise in said numbers is simply due to holiday part-time hiring coupled with some folks being forced to take on more than one job just to pay for a carton of eggs. Simply, our economy is that bad because we are indeed now in a “recession” no matter the Democrats saying we are not...or at least they're not willing to admit it yet...which is something they might never do.

Why so...simply because the truth is a very hard pill to swallow let alone admit to especially when it comes to Democrats.

The definition of a “recession” is simply when a significant decline in economic activity occurs leaving a nation’s economy to experience negative gross domestic product (GDP) over a given back-to-back period of time, coupled with rising levels of unemployment, falling retail sales, and what's called “contracting measures of income and manufacturing” also occurring within a given but extended period of time. And while “recessions” are actually a normal part of the business cycle...as in the “regular cadence of expansion and contraction that occurs in a nation’s economy”...in today's Democrat initiated economic cycle "We the People" as well as the economy itself have become victims of their out of control spending which has directly led to excessive debt piling up as witnessed by both the national debt and debt ceiling cap continuing to rise.

And with us still being in the throws of “inflation,” along with a corresponding rise in interest rates, all this when put together means “We the People” could be facing the very real possibility that in time “deflation”...which is when prices decline over too short a period of time causing wages to contract thus further depressing prices as both people and business stop spending...will leave us to see an already bad economic situation becoming even worse.

So how did the “tax and spend” Democrats create the current “recession” we now find ourselves in...simply by Biden's reversing the highly successful economic policies that President Trump put in place when he assumed office back in 2016. And when you couple that with the Democrats out of control government spending and their believing...or their at least their crossing their fingers behind their backs...that running up the national debt has little to no consequences, the disastrous state our economy now finds itself in clearly does rest on Democrat shoulders. And yet they again blame Republicans and most especially President Trump. But why blame Trump...because to Democrats Donald J. Trump remains now and forever the “villain” who stopped Hillary Clinton from not only becoming America's first woman president, but a president who would outwardly and ever so happily initiate in full Barack HUSSEIN Obama's “fundamentally transforming” socialist agenda as America's new everyday norm.

After all, everything for the Democrats is about wanting government control of the masses...a social agenda and especially a socialist based economic system would do just that.

And then there's the matter of our Strategic Petroleum Reserves (the SPR)...our so-called “rainy day fund of oil”...a manipulative tool now being used by the Biden administration in the applying of both domestic and foreign policy. Established in the 1970's to help reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum based products as well as to aid those here in the U.S. and elsewhere in times of natural disasters, these federally-owned oil stockpiles, which used to be at a high of 714 million gallons stored before Joe Biden took office, dropped to 405 million barrels by mid-October 2022, its lowest level since 1986. And why...because Biden has not been able to replenish these reserves due to his halting all domestic oil drilling and gas leases, plus his canceling of the Keystone Pipeline on his first day in office...all being done in the name of his and the Democrats nonsensical anti-drilling, anti-American, climate change agenda. Remember, just like with Obama, Biden cannot and must not allow our nation to become energy independent like it was under President Trump...America's enemies and especially Obama, his now and forever puppet master, would not like that at all.

And so the man who in 2022 not only shipped millions of reserve barrels overseas...including selling one million plus barrels to a Chinese government owned gas company that routinely not only buys Russian oil, but where his infamous son Hunter has engaged in years of potentially criminal business activity. And Joe Biden also released millions of barrels here at home in a doomed to fail attempt to reduce inflation...doomed because prices at the pump had actually begun rising again. And this is the same man who not only bought into the hype that it's America who needs to address worldwide oil supply so-called “imbalances,” but who will continue to diminish our much needed strategic oil supply in the name of “oil equity.”

But even with this the Democrats still claim that it's Republicans and President Trump who must shoulder the blame for our strategic oil reserves running so low and not Joe Biden. And why...because Trump did not replenish said reserves while in office. But the fact is that President Trump did indeed try to replenish the reserves, especially it being a time when oil prices were low. But the Democrats relished in stopped him by cutting the funds needed to do so...cutting the funds out of their massive stimulus spending bill it was included in while at the same time claiming the request for said funds was nothing but a Trump “bailout” for the oil industry, which it clearly was not.

And if Trump had been able to do what he proposed, we taxpayer would have saved many billions of dollars by us having remained energy independent...the very thing the Democrats and Biden's puppet master Barack HUSSEIN Obama...would not and could not allow.

And so the Democrats blame game against Republicans and President Trump continues on and always will. But it's not just because of the fundamental ideological and political differences between the two parties, but because as things stand now with a lack of personal responsibility becoming the new accepted societal norm coupled with the Democrats laissez-faire attitude of anything goes, our country will remain an America most of us no longer recognize. And with that 2024 cannot come fast enough...case closed.

Recession: America's New Norm?
By: Diane Sori / The Patriot Factor / Right Side Patriots / Right Side Patriots Radio

We're not going to be in a recession...My hope is we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth...I don't think we're going to see a recession."                            - Joe Biden words spoken on Monday July 26, 2022

Even some Democrats see it...see that the good times, economically speaking that is, are but a thing of the Trump administration's past. “Economic recovery,” which Biden and his propagandists in the liberal media keep bantering about, has proven to be not only a misnomer but an out-and-out lie for the economic prosperity seen under President Trump has now morphed, under Joe Biden, into a full blown economic disaster.

Recession” it's called no matter that the Democrat powers that be keep trying to alter its definition. And it's here for the long stay not because it has to be, but because the Democrats need more folks looking to the federal government for help which translates into more folks pulling the “D” lever come November's midterm election. After all, few tend to bite the hand that feeds, clothes, and houses them. But hopefully this drastic downturn in our economy will prove the Democrats wrong for it's not just the lower and middle class being affected by the now “recession,” but also the upper class and the job creators. An equal opportunity government caused disaster looming large over us all.

And while folks have been forced to spend more on staples like groceries and gas at the pumps due to record high prices on foodstuffs and Biden's forced importing of oil, economic indicators show that overall consumer spending is now basicallyflat.” And while the current 40-year high in inflation itself tends to mask the scale of what in reality is a dangerous across the board major economic slowdown, the Democrats still refuse to utter let alone accept the “r” word as today's reality, for they have calculatingly changed the very definition of “recession” to meet their party's...to meet Obama's...anti-capitalism, pro-socialism agenda.

But what actually constitutes a “recession” and how does “recession” affect consumer spending? First, a “recession” is simply a significant decline in economic activity that can last for as little as a few months or can last for years. In fact, history shows that recession tends to come in tandem when an energy crisis is at hand...as it is now. And with energy comprising 7% of our total GDP (gross domestic product), one can understand why economic experts agree that a “recession” happens when a nation’s economy experiences negative GDP growth for two consecutive fiscal quarters, unemployment levels rise, retail sales fall, along with manufacturing slowing and incomes declining for an extended period of time.

And dare not forget that both “inflation” and “deflation” plays into “recession” what with “inflation” being the overall upwards trend in prices over a given period of time, and with “deflation” being when prices steadily decline causing wages to “contract.” And this in turn depresses prices as both businesses and consumers simply stop spending which itself then undermines a nation's economy.

Basically, “inflation,” at times, can and does lead to “deflation” and visa-versa, what with central banks then being forced to try to control “inflation” by raising interest rates which, in turn, depresses economic activity even further. A vicious ongoing cycle of what is an unavoidable so-called “expansion and contraction” of a given nation's economy made worse when both “inflation” and “recession” go on at the same time. And for us here in the U.S. heaven forbid if the “recession” we're now in...thanks to Biden and crew...were to morph into an actual “depression”...a “depression” where the economic impact on our country will be even greater what with accompanying steep drops in our GDP and higher unemployment rates, thus allowing time itself to become the enemy in regards to an actual economic recovery. And dare not forget that if America was to enter a “depression” it most surely would spread worldwide.

And sadly, here I must say welcome to today's America where “We the People's” pocketbooks do run dry while high-paid politicians laugh all the way to the bank, and where talk of “depression” must now not be taken off the proverbial table...surely not as long as ILLEGALS keep bleeding America's monetary coffers dry.

So why do I even bring the issue of ILLEGALS into the “recession” mix? While many claim that immigrants...  “legal” immigrants...lead to an increase in “innovation, education, and economic productivity”...which is certainly true...ILLEGALS as a whole not only take away much needed low level and entry level jobs from hurting American citizens, but they come here with their hands out for the Democrats promised “free stuff,” thus placing an added strain on our already hurting economy. And while reality shows that nothing is ever really “free,” the ever escalating amounts of monies now being spent on welfare and such for ILLEGALS is paramount, in my opinion, to the government's stealing our taxpayer dollars (in exchange for votes) at a time when many Americans truly are now living paycheck to paycheck.

And the actual ILLEGAL numbers do now speak for themselves for the Biden administration, to date, has allowed over two million ILLEGALS to enter our country, and if that's not bad enough, by the end of his term we will see six million ILLEGALS residing in our country which will allow today's “recession” to drag on even longer than it might normally have done. Simply, with the majority of Americans now monetarily hurting it should be Americans first and all others be damned.

And here's a possible nightmare scenario that could indeed happen if this “recession” were to linger on for an extended period of time. First, more jobs most surely would be lost leading unemployment numbers to rise which in turn makes it harder for one to find a job not only because more folks are out looking for work, but because companies and businesses, both large and small, will be forced to drastically cutback or even shutdown for without folks being able to purchase what businesses or a given company produces they cannot afford to keep their operations afloat. And if one is lucky enough to keep their job during what could be a prolonged “recession,” they face the likely scenario of seeing both their paychecks and their benefits being cut.

And don't think that those folks able to invest in the stock market won't be hurt as well for during a “recession” stocks, bonds, and real estate also visit the losing end as savings dwindle affecting many investors retirement plans as well as their monetary portfolios. Even worse, imagine what would happen if you couldn’t pay your monthly bills or make your mortgage or rent payment because you've lost your job...imagine both the reality and the ramifications of possibly not only actually losing your home but all your tangible assets as well. And know that “lenders” (read “banks” here) will also be affected thus forcing them to tighten their qualifications for mortgages...as in one would need either a better credit score, a larger down payment, or both in some cases...in order to receive a mortgage or even a car loan. Simply, all modes of general financing would be affected including monies needed for both new start-up businesses and businesses hurting as a direct cause of the “recession."

And we can thank the “tax and spend” Democrats and especially Joe Biden for the above stated possible scenario...a scenario that is on the brink of being the new norm for way too many Americans.

So what is the Democrats answer to now record high inflation caused solely by their out of control spending coupled with our economy officially having entered an actual “recession?” Their answer is as expected...to once again raise taxes no matter that over 90+ million American households say they are having a hard time meeting daily expenses; no matter that the bulk of the tax monies raised will be funneled into their Green New Deal nonsense which is but another name for the Democrats war on what was under President Trump, America's much heralded energy independence.

No matter it all for remember above all else that the Democrats...that Joe Biden himself...loves to blame Putin for all our economic woes when the truth is that they alone are masters of manipulation who want to control each and every aspect of “We the People's” lives ranging from the jobs we hold; to the cars we drive; to the food we eat and the groceries we buy; to how we power, heat, and cool our homes; to the medical treatment we receive or are not allowed (under ObamaCare) to receive; to what our children are taught in both public and private schools and universities; to the right to kill unborn babies, and so very much more...pronouns not excluded.

Simply do as the current powers that be tell us to do, believe their words as both scientific and gospel truth, think what they tell us to think or else pay the consequences in jobs lost, monies gone, and freedoms cast to the wind...and might I sadly add the Constitution be damned.

So what is the solution to the Democrats deliberately created economic woes? First, it's very important to remember that Republicans always support the pursuit of prosperity minus government interference; and that Republicans support both tax and regulation cuts for businesses, thus naturally allowing for more jobs to be created which, in turn, will increase overall economic growth; while Democrats erroneously believe that by reducing (self-perceived) income inequality economic growth will follow as will spending vs. saving as they buy into the Keynesian economic theory that government should always spend its way out of a “recession”..differences on par with day vs. night.

But to put it in quite simplistic terms, in order to end this “recession” and return to the prosperity we saw under President Trump, all Democrats need to be voted out of office not just this upcoming November 8th, but in 2024 as well for not to do so might just be our republics ultimate downfall where Obama's “fundamental change” sadly becomes America's new norm. Case closed.
