Dem Rep Rips Into Ocasio-Cortez: So, We're Protesting Job Creation Now

With Amazon nixing a plan to build a headquarters in New York City, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) celebrated a victory for white voters in her district. Yes, people of color wanted Amazon to come to the Big Apple. It would have created 25,000 at a minimum salary of $150,000. Yeah, real slave labor, but progressives just had to fight corporate America, which they do daily…on their Apple devices.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) was not too happy with Ocasio-Cortez’s celebrations, aptly noting that cheering job destruction is just straight-up idiocy. But hey, we’re talking about a woman, who thinks cow farts are a problem. A congresswoman who wants to move away from fossil fuels in a decade and upgrade every building in the country to make them energy efficient. It’s insanity. It’s not serious. And some within the media, like MSNBC whose sole purpose is to keep liberal blood pressures low, even admits that AOC’s economic illiteracy is going to give Trump a second term (via Free Beacon):

Third World jihad savages embedded in America, and now, through stealth jihad, they are bringing their hatred and bigotry into the hallowed halls of Congress. I wonder: if there had been Nazi/German-American Bund members of Congress during World War II, would the Democrats have lauded and rewarded them with coveted committee positions?

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – More men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined – or attempted to join – a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country.

FBI stats show 45 Somalis left to join the ranks of either the Somalia-based Islamic insurgency al-Shabab, or the Iraq- and Syria-based ISIS combined. And as of 2018, a dozen more had been arrested with the intention of leaving to support ISIS. Both numbers are far higher than those of alleged terrorist wannabes who left or attempted to leave the country from other areas in the country where Muslim refugees have been resettled.

McCABE SAYS DEPUTY AG ROSENSTEIN 'ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS' ABOUT SECRETLY RECORDING TRUMP: The former FBI deputy director said in an interview broadcast Sunday that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein "was not joking" when he suggested secretly recording President Donald Trump in the Oval Office following the May 2017 dismissal of FBI Director James Comey.

McCabe, speaking to CBS News' "60 Minutes," recounted a conversation soon after Comey's firing about the ongoing Russia investigation in which he said Rosenstein told him: "I never get searched when I go into the White House. I could easily wear a recording device. They wouldn't know it was there."

"Now, he was not joking," McCabe said of Rosenstein's comments. "He was absolutely serious. And in fact, he brought it up in the next meeting we had."

Trump Declares Emergency Over Wall, Inviting Likely Court Fight

Plan heads off another shutdown, diverts money from elsewhere in government to pay for additional barriers

WASHINGTON—President Trump declared a national emergency Friday over border security, bypassing Congress to divert money from elsewhere in the government to pay for additional barriers along the southern border, a move likely to ignite immediate court challenges.

Mr. Trump also signed a bipartisan spending bill that will keep the government funded through the fall and allocates $1.38 billion for 55 miles of border barriers—far less than the $5.7 billion the president had asked for.

Unsatisfied with the amount set aside by lawmakers for barriers, Mr. Trump now plans to also draw roughly $6.7 billion from military and other sources, without the approval of Congress.

In remarks at the White House, Mr. Trump defended the actions as critical to national security.

“We’re talking about an invasion of our country,” he said. At another point, however, he suggested an emergency declaration wasn’t necessary. “I didn’t need to do this, but I’d rather do it much faster,” he said.

Back in November, I predicted all this. I wrote my most controversial column. After the GOP lost the House, I predicted the big winner of the November midterms would be ... President Donald Trump.

I'm sure some of you thought I was stark raving mad. But my November prediction has proven 100 percent accurate. Back then, I prophesied that if Democrats got in charge, they would embarrass themselves, expose themselves and destroy themselves. The craziest and most radical Democrats would no longer be hidden.

I was on the money. The best thing that ever happened to Trump was Democrats taking the House.

Have you seen the latest polls? At this writing, President Trump has 50 percent approval according to always-accurate Rasmussen Reports. That's higher than Barack Obama's 48 percent at the 24-month mark of his presidency. Yes, Trump is just about the most popular he's ever been -- even after the longest government shutdown in American history.

Gov. Cuomo Lambasts Ocasio-Cortez, Others Over Amazon's Decision to Ditch New York Plans

On Thursday, Amazon announced it would no longer be building its new headquarters in New York. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was excited about the announcement, saying people have the power to organize and the results are incredible.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) didn't share Ocasio-Cortez's sentiments though.

"Amazon chose to come to New York because we are the capital of the world and the best place to do business. We compete in and won the most hotly contested national economic development competition in the United States, resulting in at least 25,000-40,000 good paying jobs for our state and nearly $30 billion dollars in new revenue to fund transit improvements, new housing, schools and countless other quality of life improvements," Cuomo said in a statement. "Bringing Amazon to New York diversified our economy away from real estate and Wall Street, further cementing our status as an emerging center for tech and was an extraordinary economic win not just for Queens and New York City, but for the entire region, from Long Island to Albany's nanotech center."
