Joe Manchin Has a Message for 'Self-Declared Independent Socialist' Bernie Sanders

Friday night certainly had some drama to when it comes to President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda, after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) penned an op-ed in the Charleston Gazette-Mail, which is located in Sen. Joe Manchin's (D-WV) state.

 

 In it, Sen. Sanders writes that the "$3.5 trillion Build Back Better bill [is] supported by President Biden and almost all Democrats in Congress." 

He also makes a plea to readers as he tries to equate West Virginia and Vermont:

The United States, and states like West Virginia and Vermont in particular, are seeing their populations age. The result: more and more older Americans and people with disabilities need home health care. They would much prefer to be around their loved ones at home rather than be forced into expensive nursing homes. If You Claim Red Flag Laws Save Lives, You Better Back It Up                                                                                                             Tom Knighton / BEARING ARMS  

Red flag laws are controversial, to say the least. They should be. After all, you shouldn’t just take away someone’s constitutional right without at least giving them due process. It’s one thing to decide someone is a danger, but such laws essentially put the person in a position of having to prove they’re not a threat.

That kind of thing should be controversial. Better yet, it shouldn’t even be suggested in the first place.

Unfortunately, it’s the law in many places and many people actually think it’s a good idea. They think it’s such a good idea, they don’t mind making claims they can’t back up to try and get other states to adopt it.

Biden Gave an Update to the Nation About the Private Sector Vaccine Mandate

President Biden on Thursday addressed the “unacceptably high number” of unvaccinated people in America and said his mandate for the private sector will go into effect “soon.”

While “daily cases are down 47 percent” nationally, and “hospitalizations are down 38 percent over the past six weeks,” Biden said there are still 66 million unvaccinated Americans. This is down from 100 million in July.

Insisting that his vaccine mandates are working, Biden said the Department of Labor will “soon be issuing an emergency rule” for private sector companies with 100 or more employees.

Facebook to change rules on attacking public figures on its platforms

Facebook Inc(FB.O) will now count activists and journalists as "involuntary" public figures and so increase protections against harassment and bullying targeted at these groups, its global safety chief said in an interview this week.

The social media company, which allows more critical commentary of public figures than of private individuals, is changing its approach on the harassment of journalists and "human rights defenders," who it says are in the public eye due to their work rather than their public personas.

Facebook is under wide-ranging scrutiny from global lawmakers and regulators over its content moderation practices and harms linked to its platforms, with internal documents leaked by a whistleblower forming the basis for a U.S. Senate hearing last week.

How Facebook, which has about 2.8 billion monthly active users, treats public figures and content posted by or about those figures has been an area of intense debate. In recent weeks, the company's "cross check" system, which the Wall Street Journal reported has the effect of exempting some high-profile users from usual Facebook rules, has been in the spotlight.

New Docs Show That Ashli Babbitt was Shot for 'No Good Reason'

It wasn’t our best day as a nation. It also wasn’t the worst. We have clowns in the liberal press saying that the January 6 riot was worse than the 9/11 attacks. We have comparisons that this was worse than the American Civil War. False on all accounts, but they need to exaggerate this incident because they want to ensnare Donald Trump again. If this was such a horrific event, why haven’t they released the hours of security camera footage? It’s possibly because it’s boring as hell—just hundreds of people walking around the US Capitol. These people didn’t murder anyone as well. No cops were killed. Officer Brian Sicknick, who the liberal media tried to weaponize against conservatives, died of natural causes. The only person who was killed inside the Capitol building was Ashli Babbitt who was shot by police.

This has been a topic of discussion for some, as people wondered if the use of force was necessary. Look, in this situation, everyone inside should have known that these situations could turn deadly. That’s not to say she deserved it, and new documents from Judicial Watch further feeds the narrative that this was a cover-up. Tom Fitton added that the documents reveal Babbitt was shot for “no good reason” (via Fox News):
