Op-ed:
Remembering September 11th
By: Diane Sori

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the day islam declared war on America.
Today is the day 3000 (mostly) Americans were MURDERED by 19 muslims on the orders of a madman.
Today is the day when four jetliners were slammed into The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and into a field in Shankville, Pennsylvania.
Today is the day when the two simple words, 'Let's Roll,' .redefined the meaning of the word 'hero.'
Today is the day we must NEVER forget for today is the day America changed forever.
Today is the day ALL our lives took a course few of us could ever have imagined.
Today is the day that the unbelievable became reality as buildings fell and hearts were broken.
Today is the day we honor ALL those lost and comfort those they left behind.
To the families, to the loved ones, to all those that death touched I say, 'try to remember that the souls of your loved ones are now and forever in the warm embrace of God, where they are safe from further harm.’
Simple words from my heart but sometimes simple words speak louder than anything else.
September 11th shaped me into the person I am today.
September 11th woke me from a somewhat apathetic sleep and forced me to see a reality that some still don’t see even today.
September 11th turned me into a patriot fighter for my beloved America before I am anything else...before I am anything else.
September 11th is a day to remember that America is still the greatest nation the world has ever known.
September 11th has become part of our collective souls; a part of our very being; a part of what makes us unique as Americans for on that day we felt pain like never before, we cried, we grieved, and yet we survived...we survived together.
Today as we remember that horrific day of eleven years ago we just might let a very small smile cross our lips as we’re still here...America is still here...and America will survive because America must survive for America represents the hope and dreams of those lost that day and in their memory we carry on...and in their memory we will NEVER forget the day that changed so many lives forever.

God, Democrats, and the Europeanization of America
By: Paul Kengor / Townhall Daily
And while it speaks to so many things, at many levels, it reminds me of the recent battle within the European Union to exclude God from the EU constitution. That comparison is no mere academic one. It speaks volumes about the ongoing direction of the Democratic Party, and this nation.
About 10 years ago, the EU was in an intense debate over whether to mention God in its new constitution.
The God opponents were the predictable Western European progressives: leftist Eurocrats in Brussels, Labor Party atheists in Britain, German socialists, Scandinavian secularists, and, naturally, the French leadership. The God supporters included new EU member states that survived godless communism—with Poland in the forefront—and the continent’s preeminent religious figure: Pope John Paul II.
The pope, suffering from advanced Parkinson’s, took up the fight with vigor. In the summer of 2003, he devoted a series of Sunday Angelus addresses to this political issue that transcended politics. He made arguments akin to those made by the American Founding Fathers: It is crucial for citizens living under a constitution to understand the ultimate source from which their rights derive. Their rights come not from government but from God. What government gives, government can take away. What God gives, government cannot take away.
The pope was countered by the likes of French president Jacques Chirac, who sniffed: “France is a lay state, and as such she does not have a habit of calling for insertions of a religious nature into constitutional texts.”
The “lay character” of France’s government and public institutions, according to Chirac, simply did “not allow” for a reference to God in a constitution.
Chirac displayed precisely the misunderstanding of church and state that secular liberals in the United States have heartily embraced.
In the end, the EU compromised on a bland statement grudgingly conceding the continent’s “cultural, religious, and humanist inheritance.” It was a nod to God that George Weigel, in his superb “The Cube and the Cathedral,” described as “so bland as to be meaningless.”
But, in an important way, it was actually not meaningless. Hilaire Belloc once said that “the (Christian) faith is Europe and Europe is the faith.” Well, it isn’t anymore. Perhaps, then, it was perfectly fitting that the Europeans excluded God from their platform.
That brings me back across the Atlantic, to Charlotte. That the Democrats, in 2012, would find themselves in a similar battle is no surprise.
I’ll never forget the night Barack Obama won the 2008 election, when I turned on CNN and glimpsed an unknown Republican congressman from Wisconsin named Paul Ryan. When asked about Obama’s victory, Ryan said he was most concerned about “the Europeanization of America.”
“That’s it!” I said to myself. “That’s exactly it. Who is this guy? He nailed it.”
A further “Europeanization” of America is the best description of what has transpired under the Obama administration, especially its first two years under a fully supportive Democratic Congress. In 2009-10, we witnessed incredibly wasteful Keynesian-style prime-the-pump “stimulus,” partial nationalizations, “Obama-care,” explosive public-sector growth and unionization, demonization of the banking and investment and oil industries, stagnant unemployment, class-warfare rhetoric unlike anything I’ve ever heard in this country, and debt-to-GDP ratios approaching Greece standards. We’ve experienced a record-long non-recovering recovery reminiscent not of the American experience but of Western Europe.
As someone who researches communism, I’m often asked if the Obama administration is pursuing socialistic or even communist policies. No, no, I’ve always said. If you want the closest model to what Obama is doing, look at the Attlee government in Britain after WWII or Western Europe today generally.
I recently did an interview with the BBC in Ireland. The host asked: “What’s wrong with you Americans?
You call Obama a ‘socialist’ as if socialism is bad. Here in Europe, we think he’s doing exactly the right thing.” Likewise, a friend of mine recently returned from Spain. She was shocked by the overwhelming support for Barack Obama’s policies. It’s really no shock at all—not in Spain.
Here in America, the staunchest liberal-Democrat areas, such as California, Massachusetts, and New England, all have European-level birthrates, divorce rates, abortion rates, and even church attendance. New England, in many ways, is a microcosm of Western Europe.
By the time of the 2012 Democratic convention, party delegates had already (following Barack Obama’s lead) embraced everything from unlimited taxpayer-funding of abortion to gay marriage. How does one get to these positions? Answer: by removing God. Fittingly, then, the delegates merely need to take the next evolutionary step: exclude God. It was very … European.
The soul of the Democratic Party continues to change dramatically.
Obama
on 9/11 anniversary: "I have always said that America is at war with al
Qaeda and its affiliates – and we will never be at war with Islam or
any other religion"
From Jihad Watch / Posted by Robert Spencer
That other jihadists hold to
the same beliefs and goals as al-Qaeda, and that innumerable Muslims
around the world consider Islam to be at war with the United States --
these things Barack Obama did not address.
"Remarks of President Barack Obama, Weekly Address, The White House," from the White House website, September 8:
"Remarks of President Barack Obama, Weekly Address, The White House," from the White House website, September 8:
...On that clear September morning, as America watched the towers fall, and the Pentagon burn, and the wreckage smoldering in a Pennsylvania field, we were filled with questions. Where had the attacks come from, and how would America respond?"Where had the attacks come from?" That question has still not been correctly or adequately answered in Washington.
...We took the fight to al Qaeda, decimated their leadership, and put them on a path to defeat. And thanks to the courage and skill of our intelligence personnel and armed forces, Osama bin Laden will never threaten America again.
Instead of pulling back from the world, we’ve strengthened our alliances while improving our security here at home. As Americans, we refuse to live in fear. Today, a new tower rises above the New York skyline. And our country is stronger, safer and more respected in the world.
Instead of turning on each other, we’ve resisted the temptation to give in to mistrust and suspicion. I have always said that America is at war with al Qaeda and its affiliates – and we will never be at war with Islam or any other religion. We are the United States of America. Our freedom and diversity make us unique, and they will always be central to who we are as a nation.
Instead of changing who we are, the attacks have brought out the best in the American people. More than 5 million members of the 9/11 Generation have worn America’s uniform over the past decade, and we’ve seen an outpouring of goodwill towards our military, veterans, and their families. Together, they’ve done everything we’ve asked of them. We’ve ended the war in Iraq and brought our troops home. And Iraq is roiling with jihadist chaos.
We brought an end to the Taliban regime. And yet the Taliban are stronger than ever in Afghanistan, control large parts of the country, and infiltrate the Afghan police and military at will.
We’ve trained Afghan Security Forces,...who use us as a shooting gallery.
and forged a partnership with a new Afghan Government. And by the end 2014, the transition in Afghanistan will be complete and our war there will be over. And then the Afghan jihad will begin in real earnest.
And finally, instead of turning inward with grief, we’ve honored the memory of those we lost by giving back to our communities, serving those in need, and reaffirming the values at the heart of who we are as a people. That’s why we mark September 11th as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.A travesty to the families of the victims and an outrage to the nation. December 7 was never a National Day of Service and Remembrance. It was a grim reminder that freedom comes with a price, and must be defended against vicious and ruthless enemies. That September 11 is not the same thing, but a National Day of Service and Remembrance, is an indication of our national weakness and pusillanimity.
U.N. triggers Plan B on global gun control
'What's at stake is the entire fate of firearms in America'
Enter the U.N. Programme Against Small Arms, an administrative program that National Association for Gun Rights Executive Vice President Dudley Brown says wouldn’t require a vote in Congress to be enacted, but has so far flown under the radar of most gun-rights groups.
“In implementing the Programme of Action at the national level,” the report said, “States, where they have not yet done so, undertake: To support the development and implementation of adequate laws, regulations and administrative procedures to prevent, combat and eradicate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons in all its aspects, including diversion of small arms and light weapons to unauthorized recipients.
“To establish or strengthen, as appropriate,” the report continued, “national coordination mechanisms to improve coordination among governmental agencies, in particular among law enforcement, national border and customs control agencies, and arms transfer licensing authorities, to implement the Programme of Action.
“This should include aspects of the illicit manufacture, control, trafficking, circulation, brokering and trade, as well as tracing, finance, collection and destruction of small arms and light weapons,” the report concluded.
The full scope of what the program intends to accomplish are explained on the U.N. Office for Disarmament Affairs web site.
The site lists the groups the body is hoping to impact: “Insurgents, armed gang members, pirates, terrorists.”
Further the site says, “The illicit circulation of small arms, light weapons and their ammunition destabilizes communities and impacts security and development in all regions of the world.”
The website further explains what the program intends to implement in the participating countries.
“If national law enforcement officials were able to trace small arms back to their last legitimate owner, who might then be held accountable, this would form an effective measure against illicit trade and diversion,” the website states. “For that purpose, it is essential that the weapon be marked upon production and import, and that appropriate records be kept. Existing stocks should also be marked. Although many weapons are marked upon production and import, international cooperation in marking and tracing of small arms is in its infancy.”
Brown says the U.N. gun ban is difficult to stop.
“This fight, however, is on such a massive scale,” Brown said in a statement, “with so many moving targets and on so many fronts, that it has been a virtual course in adapting tactics to fit the battle.”
Brown told WND traditional gun-rights groups have thus far dismissed the U.N. program.
“When this fight with the U.N. first surfaced,” Brown said, “the institutional gun lobby dismissed the threat as paranoia, but we knew the U.N.’s agenda put the United States’ freedoms squarely in their sights.”
Brown also says that the U.N.’s target is nothing less than complete control of all guns and ammunition.
“What’s at stake is the entire fate of firearms in America,” Brown said.
And Brown says there’s only one way to stop the U.N. Programme Against Small Arms. It starts with diligent, local lobbying and activism.
“Grassroots activism – led by my organization, the National Association for Gun Rights – derailed the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty,” Brown said. “But now they’re using a more insidious avenue called the Programme Against Small Arms to push for global gun control. And it just might work, unless we mobilize Americans against it.”
Obama Thugs Rough Up Gallup For Polls They Don’t Like
By Dick Morris/ Dick Morris.com
The Obama Administration’s Justice Department announced, on August 22nd, that it was joining a lawsuit by a former Gallup employee and whistleblower against the Gallup Corporation for allegedly overcharging the government on polling work.
The announcement comes on the heels of a confrontation between Gallup staffers and Obama strategist David Axelrod in which he accused the company of using out of date sampling methods which, he said, generated polling data negative to the president.
The whistleblower’s lawsuit has been kicking around since 2009, but the Justice Department joined the suit only after the run-in between Axelrod and Gallup in April of this year.
In a scene right out of a typical authoritarian regime, Fox News reports that “employees at the venerable Gallup polling firm suggested they felt threatened by Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod when he questioned the methodology of a mid-April poll showing Mitt Romney leading the president – according to internal emails published Thursday.”
That poll that sent Axelrod ballistic showed Romney leading Obama 48-43 percent.
The Daily Caller published e mails that started when Axelrod sent a tweet to Gallup saying the tracking poll was “saddled with some methodological problems” and directing followers to a National Journal story in which a professor suggested outdated sampling.
According to the email chain titled “Axelrod vs. Gallup,” the White House in addition asked that a Gallup staffer “come over and explain our methodology,” which was apparently perceived as a subtle threat.
Fox News reported that “a Gallup official said in an email he thought Axelrod’s pressure ‘sounds a little like a Godfather situation.’”
Gallup refused to change its methodology to suit the White House.
And the Justice Department intervention in the whistleblower suit came three months later. The whistleblower, Michael Lindley, claims that Gallup violated the False Claims Act by overcharging the federal government for its services to the U.S. Mint, the State Department and other federal agencies. The Justice Department plans to add Gallup’s work with FEMA to the list of alleged overcharges covered in the lawsuit.
Lindley charged that Gallup overestimated the number of hours of field work that the government surveys would require and that it billed the feds based on the inflated estimates.
According to the Washington Times, Lindley worked for the Obama campaign in 2008 as an Iowa field organizer based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
As the election progresses, this blatant effort to influence Gallup’s data and its poll numbers is an example of Chicago political thugs at their worst.
Rush: Economy will collapse if Obama re-elected
'It's gonna be ugly. It's gonna be gut-wrenching, but it will happen'
“We’re doomed,” Limbaugh said this afternoon on his top-rated talk show.
Limbaugh is expecting California to go belly up first, setting off a chain of financial calamities.
“California is going to declare bankruptcy and you know what Obama will do? He’ll go to states like Texas or Arizona, Florida to bail them out. That’s what he’ll do, and that’s gonna precipitate this stuff. California is showing where we’re headed in every which way,” Limbaugh said.
“This can’t go on, folks. We’re on an unsustainable course,” he continued. “You simply can’t pay people who aren’t working. You just can’t. You cannot pay them anything, much less full-fledged incomes, lifetime health care and lifetime pensions. You can’t do it. Even if you wanted to, even if that was your definition of fairness and equality, you can’t do it. The money isn’t there.
“And you might be shouting, ‘Don’t these people know it?’ You have to keep in mind who these people are.
These are people who don’t like the way this country was founded in the first place, who think it’s about time some of us found out what it’s like to live in the rest of the world because of what we’ve done to the rest of the world.”
When asked by a caller what is the one thing the president could do to actually help the economy improve, Limbaugh said, “Resign.”
Limbaugh lamented the Obama’s desire for citizens to completely depend on the government for solutions.
“I think it’s sick, but he wants almost a perverted, literal attachment to government. The government is the first thing people look to, it’s where they go for any problem to be solved. It’s what he wants, and none of that is going to save the country.”
Limbaugh also said he hoped he was wrong about his prediction.
“I don’t want any of this, but I know mathematics, and I know economics. I know history. I know socialism, statism, Marxism, I know where it goes. I know what happens at the end of it.”
One area in particular Limbaugh noted that is key is in saving the economy is domestic energy production.
“We’re sitting on more energy because of fracking. We’re sitting on more fossil-fuel energy – and some if it clean, natural gas. But we’re not gonna get it. If Obama’s re-elected and stays dedicated to this green-energy crap, they can’t compete with it. …
“That voluminous amount of energy will remain untapped nationwide if he’s re-elected. He opposes it. You heard him talk against oil in his acceptance speech. Nothing new about it. Of course there are ways to avoid this collapse. Mitt Romney is the first thing you have to know to avoid the economic collapse.”
