Election Forecaster Makes Several Race Changes in Favor of Republicans
Rebecca Downs / Townhall Tipsheet

The November election continues to look hopeful for Republicans, especially after these forecast changes from Larry Sabato's Crystal Ball. The map shows 251 electoral votes for Republicans, 241 for Democrats, and 46 toss up votes.

The Center for Politics, however, notes that they "don’t really see a clear favorite in a presidential race with many confounding factors."

It's not just former and potentially future President Donald Trump who benefits from such changes. While six of the seven race changes apply to the presidential race, there's also a race change in the U.S. Senate race for Pennsylvania. Vulnerable Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey, Jr. is facing Republican Dave McCormick, with Casey only having a slight edge now, in a "Leans Democratic" Race.

Georgia has been moved from a "Toss-Up" to a "Leans Republican" state, which makes sense, given that Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden by +4.8 there, per RealClearPolling. Pennsylvania for the presidential race is now a "Toss-Up," with Trump leading Biden there by +2.3. This is particularly embarrassing for Biden, given it's his home state. Maine awards its electoral votes by congressional districts, and the 2nd Congressional District there looks to be "Likely Republican." There's also three states that have moved into the "Safe Republican" category for Trump, the best rating there can be for him. That being said, it seems that the three states--Alaska, Iowa, and Ohio--should have already been in that category. Read more here.

ICE Chief Makes Shocking Admission About Illegal Immigrant
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made a damning admission this week on the millions of unvetted illegal immigrants entering the United States under President Joe Biden.

Acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner admitted that the Department of Homeland Security often has no information on the identities of the illegal aliens released into the U.S.

He said that it is nearly impossible for agents to keep track of every single illegal immigrant who crosses the southern border, despite mounting concerns that terrorists are flooding the country.

Lechleitner was specifically questioned about the eight ISIS-associated undocumented aliens who were apprehended at the southern border. He said that it is unfeasible for ICE agents to properly vet the millions of immigrants illegally, even if they have undergone background checks.

Trump Narrows the Field for Veep

The clock is ticking toward the Big Pick – who is Trump going to select to be his veep nominee? Usually, we would find out around the time of the convention in mid-July, but the President might want to do it sooner. He’s a master showman and will drop the news when it will have the maximum effect, but that Democrat judge in New York might make him announce his selection through one of those glass booths at Riker’s Island – which, judging by the support and money Trump got when the kangaroo court temporarily framed him, might just lead to Trump and the lucky selectee winning in a landslide.

The regime media has announced that Trump asked several potential picks to submit vetting paperwork. Why someone in Trumpworld would leak this info to the regime media is a good question – either it’s a calculated move for attention, in which case we should celebrate the exploitation of the garbage legacy journalists for our own purposes, or someone gets off seeing his leak up in lights. The Trump campaign has been remarkably tight-lipped this go around, as opposed to in the past when the middling MAGA types in the inner circle were still acting like it was the olden days when political players called up the N.Y. Times to dish. I’m going with exploitation – I bet the Trumpians are ruthlessly using the regime media to get the message out. Who knows, it might be Trump personally doing it.

The US economy is facing its 'two biggest issues' in one day. What to know
Wall Street bracing for Fed decision, May inflation data double header on Wednesday
Megan Henney / FOXBusiness

Wall Street is bracing for a rare double-header on Wednesday, with fresh inflation data slated for release in the morning and the Federal Reserve expected to announce its interest rate decision in the afternoon.

"It’s all about Wednesday, with the CPI report in the morning and the FOMC meeting statement in the afternoon," said David Donabedian, chief investment officer at CIBC Private Wealth U.S. "This puts the two biggest issues for the market in one day: inflation and monetary policy."

Investors will get a chance to see just how hot inflation ran in May, hours before the Fed concludes its two-day meeting and releases a fresh set of economic projections that will reveal where policymakers see interest rates headed this year.

The CPI report and the Fed's policy-setting meeting have fallen on the same day just seven times since 2014, according to Bank of America. Here's what to expect from the major events that will shed light on the status of the U.S. economy and that risk rattling stock markets.Read more and see video here: https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/us-economy-facing-its-two-biggest-issues-one-day-what-know
Biden's Anti-Gun Speech Was a Trainwreck
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

President Joe Biden delivered an anti-gun speech hours after his son, Hunter, was convicted on federal gun charges. It’s no shock that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre opted not to brief the press, scurrying away like a scared wombat to avoid the obvious questions about this part of Biden’s schedule. Biden delivered this address at Everytown for Gun Safety's Gun Sense University in Washington, D.C. It was an absolute trainwreck.

The father of a gun felon delivering a speech on gun control—you can’t make that up. It was riddled with inaccuracies and overall strangeness. Biden spoke about how he convinced a Delaware fisherman to relinquish his “assault weapon.” Then, there was this jabberwocky about magazines that could carry “200 shells,” botched a Thomas Jefferson quote, spoke about teaching jobs he never had, and then trotted the lie that no one could own a cannon. The president also said that guns kill more children than car accidents or cancer and that the gun industry is the only sector protected by a legal shield–all of which are lies.
