Israel's Notification to UN Indicates Massive Ground Operation Is Imminent
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

Israel notified the United Nations that they should evacuate their staff and inform Palestinian civilians living north of Wadi Gaza that they should move south within the next 24 hours. Axios reported that it’s a sign a ground operation, which was expected, is about to begin soon. Once again, the IDF sets itself apart from the Hamas animals by warning civilians, instructing them where to go, and working to minimize the loss of innocent life (via Axios):

"The Israeli Ministry of Defense and the IDF notified the UN just before midnight local time to evacuate its staff and notify Palestinians living north of Wadi Gaza that they should evacuate to the southern part of the Gaza Strip in the next 24 hours, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric and another source with direct knowledge.

The big picture: More than 1 million Palestinians live in this area. The message could be a signal that the Israeli military is preparing for an imminent ground operation. Read more and see X here.

Will We Get a New House Speaker Today?
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

On October 2, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filed the motion to vacate against then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). He’d been waiting to do this for quite some time, as the two men dislike each other. McCarthy passed a continuing resolution to keep the government open for another 45 days, barely missing the September 30 deadline, which would’ve triggered a government shutdown. While Democrats were initially irked by the lack of Ukraine aid, McCarthy supposedly made a deal to have a separate vote on that package. As a result, the 45-day CR could sail through Congress without much drama.

Gaetz saw this soliciting of Democratic Party support as a betrayal and moved to boot McCarthy, which was successful. Eight Republicans joined Democrats to remove McCarthy. The House was hurled into chaos, though Reps. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) emerged as the frontrunners. Then, Hamas launched a massive terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, which has the makings of escalating into a regional war. Americans were killed in the attacks. As Jerusalem prepares for war, we must have someone who can get 218 quickly and get the House in order. When will that happen? We could have a vote today, but Thursday seems the better bet. Israel responds to Hezbollah attack from Lebanon deploying 'tens of thousands' to northern border
Hezbollah, whose name means “Party of God" (also spelled Hizballah), is an Iran-backed Shi'a militia group based in Lebanon

Israeli forces have launched rockets into southern Lebanon, striking Hezbollah forces after the terror group fired anti-tank missiles across the border initially hitting Israeli soldiers, officials said.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said Wednesday that the Israeli army shelled the Lebanese border town of Duhaira and the surrounding area where the missile attack came from. He also said Israel was actively fighting a secondary front along Israel’s northern border with Hezbollah in Lebanon, in addition to the counteroffensive the IDF is launching in the Gaza Strip.

"We have deployed tens of thousands of additional units along the northern border," Conricus said, including infantry, special forces, armored forces, artillery, air forces, and "additional assets including intelligence and logistics."

He added, "The message to Hezbollah is very clear: ‘If they try to attack, we are ready and we are vigilant on our border.’"

Hezbollah is an Iran-backed Shi'a militia group based in Lebanon. The U.S. State Department has designated it a foreign terrorist group.Read more, see Xs & videos here.

What Hamas Did Inside This Kibbutz Was Beyond Evil
Matt Vespa / Townhall Tipsheet

October 7 was a national nightmare for Israel. The day was marked by a catastrophic terrorist attack that left hundreds of Israelis dead—a shock to the national psyche. This day was Israel’s 9/11, Tet Offensive, and Pearl Harbor rolled up into one.

Thanks to assistance and training from Iran, this attack by Hamas, which was several weeks in the making, began with a hellacious rocket barrage that provided cover for a sophisticated land, air, and sea assault along the Gaza border. Around 1,000 terrorists invaded Southern Israel, which led to hours of slaughter, rape, and kidnappings.

Hamas took at least 100 Israelis hostage. The images and videos were ghastly. Entire families were wiped out. In Kibbutz Be'eri, over 100 bodies were discovered, including babies. Hamas went door-to-door, killing as many Israelis as they could find. They tried to wipe out whole towns here (via Times of Israel):

"About 100 bodies have been removed from Kibbutz Be’eri, Hebrew media report, citing the ZAKA search and rescue group...Read more, see Xs and videos here.

Israel launches massive airstrikes on downtown Gaza City, Netanyahu says: 'We have only started'
The 4-day-old war has already claimed at least 1,600 lives, including at least 1,000 Israelis
Lawrence Richard / FOX News

Israel's counteroffensive into Gaza extended through the night, including airstrikes in Gaza City, home to Hamas' centers of government.

Israeli warplanes pounded downtown Gaza City with relentless bombardments into early Tuesday, after Israel’s prime minister vowed retaliation against the Islamic militant group that would "reverberate for generations."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a nationally televised address, where he said: "We have only started striking Hamas."

He added: "What we will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations." Read more ad see video here.

Israel has, so far, issued warnings to civilians in areas of Gaza City and others where they intend to strike. The warnings have given civilians moments to evacuate so as to reduce the number of civilian deaths. Read more and see video here.
